Free good for bom material
hai i am new to sap , can any one tell me how to post free good for bom material !!
Hi,
Being a new member, one quick advice would be to search SDN and related forums before posting a new question, since this issue has been discussed many times.
To answer your question, Free Goods does not support BOM.
Please check [here|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_46c/helpdata/en/dd/55fa34545a11d1a7020000e829fd11/frameset.htm] for detailed explanation.

Free goods of different material
Hi Experts,
I have mapped free goods scenario in our system. Its working well for inclusive and exclusive free goods for same material. i.e. If I have a material M1 ordered for 100 units I will get 10 units of the same material M1 free(Exclusive) and two line items generated TAN and TANN.
Similarly for inclusive condition,We have a material A1. If one orders 100 units of A1 he has to pay for 90 units only(TAN) and the remaining 10 units (TANN) comes for free.
Now I want to set up the system in such a manner that If the customer orders a material R1 of 100 units he will get material R2 of 10 units for free.
How do we do this setting? In NA00 itself? If yes please tel me the steps involved.
Regards,
RandhirHi,
Please find the info below.
1. Free goods can only be supported on a 1:1 ratio. This means that an order item can lead to a free goods item. Agreements in the following form are not supported: 'With material 1, material 2 and material 3 are free of charge' or 'If material 1 and material 2 are ordered at the same time, then material 3 is free of charge'.
2. Free goods are not supported in combinations with material structures (for example, product selection, BOM, variants with BOM explosion).
3. Free goods are only supported for sales orders with document category C (for example, not quotations).
4. Free goods are not supported for deliveries without reference to a sales order.
5. Free goods cannot be used in make-to-order production, third-party order processing and scheduling agreements.
6. If you defined a free goods for variants in a generic article (only SAP Retail), you can only process the variants in the purchase order and goods receipt individually (as single articles). In other words, you cannot process them using the generic article matrix

Free Goods for Materials from the same division
Hi Friends,
We are trying to configure free goods based on customer and division in our system. If a customer orders any material belonging to a specific division, he is entitled for a free good.
For this we created a new condition table based on customer and division and maintained condition records that if he orders 100 qty of any material in Division 10 that he is entitled for 1 qty of material X.
Now the problem is that at the time of creating the sales order if Material A is entered for qty 50 and Material B is for qty 50 then the system does not give free goods. However, if we enter Materail A for 100 qty it gives the free goods 1 qty of Material X. Similarly, for Mat B with 100 qty it gives Mat X as free goods.
The system is not adding up the quantities for the multiple line items to calculate the free goods.
Is there any way by which we can achieve this.
Regards,
AbhishekHi,
So far me too have configured and getting free goods for one material. for your requirement, i think you have to tell your Abaper to do corresponding Enhancement.
Thanks

Free Goods for material combination
Hi,
I have a scenario for free goods determination. If customer orders a total of 10 units of (material A + Material B), 1 unit of material B is given free. As i understand this is not supported in the standard free goods functionality, is there a workaround? Can we create a new BOM material with Material A and Material B as the components, and in the free goods determination, we set it as 10 units of new material will give 1 unit material B free?
minHI,
If you know for how many material B, you are going to give 1 material B free.
suppose, out of 10 items, if customer orders 5 Material A and 5 Material B, then you can give 1 material B free.
so depending on your requirement you can define the free goods based on material B(like minimum number of materail B in the order).
Hope this helps.
Thanks,

Multiple free goods for one main material
Hello SAP Gurus,
we have a business requirement that to issue multiple free products for one main product, if the upliftment is beyond the specified quantity.
Using free goods functionality, is it possible to achive the above requirement.
e.g Quantity
main product 123456 10
free goods xxxxx 2
free goods yyyyy 1
is it possible to maintain such data thru free goods or any development needs to be done.

If you are on Retail scenario this is possible thro bonus buy schemes
But a lot of customizations needs to be done and you need a retail server to do that

Multiple free goods for one item in standalone CRM
Hi Gurus,
We are trying to implement multiple free goods for one item in standalone CRM.
As per SAP.help.com, it says that we can configure multiple free goods scenario in standalone CRM system.
We tried to set up this in our system. Basically we want to implement the scenario, where a user wants to purchase item A, he should get a prompt for choosing between two free goods B and C.
We did the relevant IMG settings required for Free goods at IMG ->CRM -> Basic Functions -> Free Goods.-> Set up Free Goods
We also did the relevant item category determination where we have made an entry with
Item Usage = " Free Goods" , Main item cat. = "TAN' , Item Category = "TANN".
Now we went to create condition records in the path "SAP Menu -> Master Data -> Prices and Conditions -> SAPCND/GCM - Maintain condition"
We chose Application ="PRT", MaintenanceGrp="PRT_FGOODS", Maintenance context ="GCM"
Then while creating conditon records , when I try to create two condition records where the Main Product is same but free good product is different, the system is not allowing to save these two condition records.
it is giving error "Overlapping validity periods for two condition records".
Please advice, if i am missing something. Thanks in advance for your help.
thanks,
Randhir

Difference between Free goods and BOM (ERLA)
Hi,
Could any body throw some light on the Difference between Free goods and BOM(ERLA) to clarify my weired thought.
AS of what i know is Free goods is 1:1 ratio.
The main item will be prices and sub item will be free .
Than same thing is also With BOM (ERLA)
Regards,
VenksysHi Venksys
Please note as given below :
Free Goods : This function allows you to offer your customers a product free of charge in the form of free goods when a certain quantity of products is ordered. Free goods is a kind of quantity discount, and is granted in the form of a goods delivery that is free of charge when a certain quantity is purchased. There are Two types of free goods :
1.Inclusive : The customer only pays for part of the goods ordered. The rest of the products are provided at no extra cost. For example, a customer orders for 3 bottels but pays for 2 bottels and 1 is supplied free .
2.Exclusive - The customer pays for the goods ordered, and also receives additional products for free. The materials delivered as free goods will not be the same as that of ordered onces. For examples customer orders 5 bottels , but will receive 1 Bottle opener free.
BOM : It consists of 2 or more items combined and sold as an package : Example : Combination of 1 Tooth paste + 1 tooth brush packed as BOM.
The Higher level Material ( BOM) is not relevant for pricing but relevant for picking : The tooth paste and brush is relevant for pricing and also can be sold independently : The Item cat group of the Header BOM material will be ERLA and for Tooth paste and brush material the Item category group will have TAN.
For more details , please refer to the link below:

Free Goods from One Material Group to Another Material Group
Salute Masters!!
I need your valuble suggestion, please provide.
I need to configure Free Goods of Material Group to Material Group.
User want:
1) Free Goods from one Material Group to another Material Group, like F010 to F040
2) User should have option to change from one Material Group to Other Material Group, which He / She want, like F010 or F020, F030, F040 any one of them.
Suppose;
Line Item Material Belongs to One Group Quantity in Gallons Free Goods from Any Material Group Quantity in Gallons
1 A 3 F010 4
2 B 3 F020
3 C 4 F040
Any No. of Line Item Any No. of Material
from One Group Total 10 From Any Material Group
(Comprising of 3-4 Different Material from 1 Group, they should be able to choose/provide Free Goods from other Material Group)
3) While creating Sales Order what Quantity (Gallons/No./Ltr) to be put?
How I can configure this scenario?
Please suggest, is it possible through KEY COMBINATION?
Rgds.

Skype ID: sanjai.srivastav1Hi,
if you want to give free goods from other group it can be possible only for EXCLUSIVE free good type
In exclusive free goods, a material different from the orignal material can be specified as the free goods.
Example: A customer who buys 200 crates of beer, gets 5 boxes of glasses free.
In VBN1 >> Exclusive
See column ADD FREE MATERIAL
While creating Sales Order what Quantity (Gallons/No./Ltr) to be put?
Maintain alternative units in material master >> Additional data >> Material master,BUT it is only main item
Those item u want to give free that items unit is derived from free goods condition record and it CANNOT be change in order -
Unable to enter multiple Schedule lines for BOM material in Sales Order
Hi All,
We have a Sales Order where in which we cannot add additional schedule lines for BOM material.
The schedule lines are greyed out, user was able to add schedule lines earlier.
I have checked all assignments in VOV6, VOV7 and everything seems to be fine and no changes have been made to item category being used.
Please provide a solution for this.
PFB link in which similar situation posted in this community but the final resolution method is not discussed.

SamikshHi Samiksh,
Pls check for that particular customer, only complete delivery allowed(c) is set in the CMR or CMIR. If so, you can't enter multiple schedule lines for that customer.. it would be grayed out in the sales order schedule lines except confirmed line.
or check the problematic sales order at item level shipping tab if the par del/item is set to 'C'

There are two sales order type standard(A) and promotion(C) defined in our business.
when we create standard order it will goods automatically capture the free goods we maintaind.
However for promotion order, the system shows below message:
Free goods could not be determined for item 000001
Document category is not from sales order category (VBTYP <> 'C')
whether it is unable to use free goods for order type "C"?
Please advice,
Many thanks,
YangDear Yadav
There are two order type ZAA1 - standard ZAA2 - promotion
two item cateogry ZDC0 - standard ZDC1 - free of charge.
I made a test to change the item category assignment as ZAA1 with ZDC1 and ZAA2 with ZDC0.
Still the free goods can automatically captured with standard order but promotion failed.
So I think the difinition of item category is no problem and it may related to sales order type.
My colleague told me it is unable to use free goods for the sales order which SD document category is not "C".
I try to change the SD document categ from I to C for promotion order and the free goods appear.
So the result is if i define the SD document category as I that I can't use function of free goods?
Please advice
Many thanks,
Yang

Can I use automatic Free goods determination for QT order types.
however i am using it for OR right now and i have done the related configuration for QT as well but system is not detmining Free Goods for QT order types.
I have also maintained the below entry in "Determine Item Category for Free Goods Item"
Sa Type ItCGr Usg. HLevelItCa DfltC
QT NORM FREE AGN AGNNHi
Std SAP itself doesnt support Free Goods at quotation level
Standard SAP supports Free Goods at quotation level and hence the item categories AFNN and AGNN are provided in the standard SAP. But, the Automatic determination of Free Goods is not possible for SD documents under category other than 'C'.
In your scenario...since the automatic determination is not possible, think about handling the functionality manually or through user exits.
Thanks,
Ravi
