Free goods of different material

Hi Experts,
I have mapped free goods scenario in our system.Its working well for inclusive and exclusive free goods for same material. i.e. If I have a material M1 ordered for 100 units I will get 10 units of the same material M1 free(Exclusive) and two line items generated TAN and TANN.
Similarly for inclusive condition,We have a material A1. If one orders 100 units of A1 he has to pay for 90 units only(TAN) and the remaining 10 units (TANN) comes for free.
Now I want to set up the system in such a manner that If the customer orders a material R1 of 100 units he will get material R2 of 10 units for free.
How do we do this setting? In NA00 itself? If yes please tel me the steps involved.

Please find the info below.
1.      Free goods can only be supported on a 1:1 ratio. This means that an order item can lead to a free goods item. Agreements in the following form are not supported: 'With material 1, material 2 and material 3 are free of charge' or 'If material 1 and material 2 are ordered at the same time, then material 3 is free of charge'.
2.      Free goods are not supported in combinations with material structures (for example, product selection, BOM, variants with BOM explosion).
3.      Free goods are only supported for sales orders with document category C (for example, not quotations).
4.      Free goods are not supported for deliveries without reference to a sales order.
5.      Free goods cannot be used in make-to-order production, third-party order processing and scheduling agreements.
6.      If you defined a free goods for variants in a generic article (only SAP Retail), you can only process the variants in the purchase order and goods receipt individually (as single articles). In other words, you cannot process them using the generic article matrix

I need your valuble suggestion, please provide.
I need to configure Free Goods of Material Group to Material Group.
User want:
1) Free Goods from one Material Group to another Material Group, like F010 to F040
2) User should have option to change from one Material Group to Other Material Group, which He / She want, like F010 or F020, F030, F040 any one of them.
Suppose;
Line Item Material Belongs to One Group Quantity in Gallons Free Goods from Any Material Group Quantity in Gallons

How I can configure this scenario?

if you want to give free goods from other group it can be possible only for EXCLUSIVE free good type
In exclusive free goods, a material different from the orignal material can be specified as the free goods.
Example: A customer who buys 200 crates of beer, gets 5 boxes of glasses free.
In VBN1 >> Exclusive
See column ADD FREE MATERIAL
While creating Sales Order what Quantity (Gallons/No./Ltr) to be put?
Maintain alternative units in material master >> Additional data >> Material master,BUT it is only main item
Those item u want to give free that items unit is derived from free goods condition record and it CANNOT be change in order

How to have more than one free good for a material ?

Hi everyone,
we have this requirement from the user where he wants give more than one free good for a material.
As far as i know we can configure only one free good for a material in standard SAP.
if have any idea about how to achieve this please guide me how to configure the same in SAP.

Being a new member, one quick advice would be to search SDN and related forums before posting a new question, since this issue has been discussed many times.
To answer your question, Free Goods does not support BOM.

Free Goods of different division

Dear Gurus,
our sales department announced following sales promotion policy i.e. Buy one LCD (Division 60) and get one cemra (DIvision 30) free
we have successfully configured SAPSD free goods scenario, but at the same time we process one order for one division only. please note that for control purpose we have made our each product as division and same as credit control area
now as mentioned above free good division deviates from main item division, how can we cater both in one sale order. please note that in VOV8 we have maintained check division indicator 2(Error) and can not convert it in o or 1
please tell me how can we implement sales policy in SAP

Even you removed 2 from document type then it will no impact on material division as it is only check purpose for more divisions can not be included in one document.
If you don't want to remove then system will not process material from more than 1 division.

Free goods determination from material determination.

Hi experts,
I have one issue for you,
My scenario is:
we issue freee goods 1:1. i configured free goods setting and maintained VBN1 (condition records for free goods). i even maintained material determination configuration settings and maintained VB11 (condition records for material determination). The problem is system proposing free goods automatically when i process sales order without material determination list, if i go through material determination list system not determining free goods nor giving any message. what is the system behaviour if we go through material sustitution list to free goods. the main item (for free goods)will be existed in the substitutiion list. plez help. any suggestion will be highly appreciated.

Please consider the two issues separately. Don't club both the issues. If you have records for both material determination and free goods.,
1. Whether the material substitution is happening perfectly (as per the records created in VB11) or not.
Next.,
2. check whether the free goods are determined for the material in the sales order line item (as per the records created in VBN1) or not.
Please check and post the result.
Sometimes the freegoods will be determined in the sales order but will not create any second line item(as sub item) because while creating the records in VBN1 if you select the option 'Free goods Inclusive without line item generation. In this case NRAB condition type will be determined instead of R100.
So, also check the conditions tab and see whether the entire quantity is priced or not.

Free goods problems changing material

Hello,
I am using free goods inclusive without item generation (NRAB condition).
I introduced a material A having free goods, ant it works fine, but if I change the material A for B in the same position (without free goods), the NRAB condition is maintained.
Has anyone seen this bug? Is there a note with this problem? I have searched it without successful.
(I am using SAP ECC 6.0

How to give other material as a free good

Hi all,
Here i am getting doubt how to give free good for one material to another material. for ex:- if customer buy product A he will get product B as a free good how do we configure in to sap. i tried in exclusive method in the sales order it is executing and when coming to delivery and billing free good line item is not getting in deliveries and billing how to do this. plz tell the required steps to do this.

Hi,
This can be done in two ways.
1)Create a BOM with the product A as the header material.Make sure that the sub items are for free of cost.Pricing will be done only for this header.
2)Mainatin the different item category for both material A and material B.
Goto VOV7 T.Code.
Select material B's item category.
Details.
Maintain the pricing as "B".
Save.

Free goods sale with addl material

Dear All,
I have maintained records for free goods in VBN1 with other material code in AddMat GrGd but while creation of sale order VA01 additional material is not showing, it is taking same material as free. In VBN1 Min qty 5, FreeGdsQty-10, CalcRule -1, Free Goods 2(Exclusive).
While creating sale order VA01 for 10 PC, it is taking same material as free for 1 pc in 2nd line and 9 PC as not free in 1st line. Plz suggest what wrong I am doing.

Hi,
Goto : VBN1--Specify the condition type for free Goods..by selectiong the req Key combination.
Select the button Exclusive and Maintain the data for : Materiual, Minimum Qty,from,Unit of Measure,Addnal free goods,Calculation rulke , Free goods.
*Speecify the Value for exclusive free goods *:
Under Addinal Material Free Good (Spc the respective material that is given as free good.).
This will solve your Problem.
Anywayz Further Confirmation you need to maintain is :
Free Good Delivery Control :
Maitain Condition Technique (SproSDBF--free good cond Tech for free goods)...there.... maintain cond tables, Access Seq cond types n Pricing Procedure.
n Finally Activate Free Good Determination(assign the free good procedure to the combination of SORG ,DC, Div, DocPri Pro and Customer Pri Pro)

Free goods with combination of material determination

Hi All,
I have Materil X for this free good is Y. But for material Y there is material determination with A. In this case what will happen while i am entering the material X in the sale order/
As of my knowledge freegoods don't support for any special function like BOM & vairant config. I don't know about the material det.
Please clarify this doubt.

Hi Sunil,
You can see Material Determination and Free goods as two seperate issues.
For material X, Material Y will be a free good only when material Y is available in stock. The system will not substitute materiail Y with material A just because you have material determination configured for the same.
On the other hand, if you enter material Y on its own i.e. seperately at the line item level of the sales order..........then material determination will occur and the item will be substituted by material A.
See both of them as two seperate scenarios.

Giving BOM material as free good in Sales Order

Hi,
I have a business requirement.
I want to give a free good in Sales Oreder which is a BOM material.This should be possible by manually changing Item category for the line item in the Sales Order just like how we can change TAN to TANN in normal circumsatnces when we add free good material for any NON BOM material.
In standard functionality,the item category determined for this BOM material is TAQ but this item category field in Sales Order is non editable because of which I can not include the BOM material as free good in my sales order.
I have already defined one z Item category for free goods for this BOM material & want to use it in Sales Order.
Can you please suggest how this can be handled ?
Or is there any other work around by which will allow me to include BOM material as free good in my Sales Order ?

Thanks everyone for the feedback.I agree with Samir Danish.It is a standard functionality of SAP which does not allow free goods for BOM material.
However, can someone suggest work around to deal with this issue.I mean if any one has been doing any work around for this issue then please let me know.It s becoming critical for me.

Free goods item with mixed material

I have a requirement in Free goods
When the customer place a material X we are offering the A, B or C material as free good item
If the (A) material item category group in material master is (NORM) it will be determined as a free good
If the Material (B) is item category group is (ERLA) bom material, free good item is not able determine in the sales order
can any one suggest the possibilities to resolve this task

Is there a way this can be done.
I know FG cannot be done with 1:2 or 2:1, but if there was a way the list of material can be a selection list or something..Thanks

first maintain material determination for freegood with multiple options of 5 products.. and then give maintain the freegoods record in CS01...
Example for X .. Y free good...
material determination for Y... 1,2,3,4,5, products...
so when ever you enter x you will get 1,2,3,4,5 options..
Try with these.. hope you get your desired solution...

In Standard SAP when material A is bought material B can be given free
This configuration is possible by exclusive free goods determination
But when material A is bought both material B and material C cannot be given free at a time
This is not possible in standard SAP
Business example
When 10 pens are bought either 1 pen ( same material A ) or 1 pencil ( material B ) or 1 rubber ( material C ) can be given free in standard SAP at a tme
But all together at a time is not possible
It can be either one of these in Standard SAP R3
In IS RETAIL this scenario is possible

Free good item proposal by considering material group

Hi,
I have some requirement to set up free goods by material group.
For example:
Material 1 - Drink 1 1500 ml.
Material 2 - Drink 2 1500 ml.
Material 3 - Drink 3 1500 ml.
If customer buy either Material 1 or Material 2 or Material 3 10 Each, they will received free goods 1 Each. How can I do this?
As I have maintain customized key combination for free good condition record material group wise i.e. in "NA00" and maintained condition record for free goods master by material group but in sales order entry, system will consider free goods by Material Code not Material Group.
Like the above scenario, is it possible that a sales order of
Material A1 - 3 pieces
Material A2- 5 pieces
Material A3- 2 pieces
will propose me a free goods item for 1 piece since the qty sums up to 10.
Can the above requirement be configured in SAP??
Please help with your valuable inputs and suggestions in std SAP.
