When you buy a mac for college, you get a free 2g ipod touch, right? If I add in an extra hundred can I get a 3g 32 gig ipod touch? or is the rebate only for the 2g.

you would need to pay the full price on any of them then will get the 199 back after you submit the rebate so yes you can get a 32GB 3rd gen iPod Touch for 299 and get 199 back

Ok, a lot of people are talking about using an Ipod converter to switch the format of the video so you can put it on the Ipod. However, when I searched it on google, a bunch came up. Could you help me and tell me which one is the best or better one to use. I'm going to purchase a new 20" iMac G5 and noticed that Apple has an offer to get a free iPod mini after mail-in rebate with the purchase of a Mac. Since the mini is discontinued, does this offer now apply to the same priced iPod nano?

Just an update to those wondering:
I contacted Apple and was told that this does not apply to the nano. There is a link on the offer page to purchase an iPod mini from the Apple Store, which I did not originally see.
I just ordered my new iMac, Mighty Mouse, and an iPod mini!

You can of course return your Mac up to 14 days after purchase for a refund... and then purchase a new one. Apple typically charges a 10% restocking fee for opened products... so depending on which MacBook you purchased, that can end up costing you close to $150... which makes the free iPod a $50 net gain. I personally wouldn't think it'd be worth the trouble for that... but it's an option.

As to it benefiting... I suppose you could read up on "What's New" on the download page.
It's my opinion, and let me reiterate, it's my opinion, that there are improvements in each update that are not publicly mentioned. Refinement to the underlying code, if you will.
I have no proof in that, other than I help moderate another Logic forum, and several of the G4 users there have noticed minor improvements to the way Logic behaves after updating to 7.2.3, even though this latest update wasn't specifically supposed to benefit them.
Maybe to play it safe, wait and hear from other G4 users...

Moduslink free Vista upgrade - order confirmed - one has hope

I now have hope that my free Vista upgrade might be delivered. Having gone through the Moduslink procedure and received the 'unrecoverablt error' message as well as the subsequent 'we cannot validate your COA number', I, like many others, was at a loss as to what to do next (in the absence of any real help from Moduslink).
However, out of curiosity I went back to the very start of the Moduslink procedure and clicked on the link 'check existing order'.

I then keyed in my COA number and e-mail address, and to my surprise it said my order was confirmed; it also gave me an 'order number'. It did not give a shipping date though.
I've subsequently e-mailed my order number with a copy of my proof of purchase to Moduslink (which they need apparently). I'm now awaiting a confirmation from them that the order will be shipped.
They have also responded to a couple of e-mails I've sent which is encouraging. They generally respond two days after I've sent my e-mail. Consequently, I'm hoping tomorrow they'll respond to my proof of purchase e-mail.
I hope this helps others. I should add that Moduslink advise it may take 6-8 weeks before the Vista upgrade is shipped but at least I have a little hope now. That said, I have not received it yet, so who knows??

hello, this sounds like a problem possibly caused by malware on your pc. please go to ''firefox > addons > extensions'' & remove any suspicious entries (toolbars, things that you have not installed intentionally, don't know what purpose they serve, etc). also go to the windows control panel / programs and remove all toolbars or potentially unwanted software from there and run a full scan of your system with the security software that you have in place and different other tools like the [http://www.malwarebytes.org/products/malwarebytes_free free version of malwarebytes] & [http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/adwcleaner/ adwcleaner].
