Free MTS / M2TS converter for FCP X

How can i convert MTS or M2TS for free so i can use it in FCP X?

Hi maivo252
Professional MTS video converter must have a comprehensive format support, not only to support a variety of high-definition video camera brands such as Sony, JVC, Panasonic and other video files mts/m2ts recording, but also supports output to any popular video formats such as AVI, MP4, WMV, MOV, MPEG ... user chosen at random. The most important point, converting the output video file format is used not only to meet the needs, and to strictly maintain its quality HD video, like MTS, reached its 1080P video resolution.

  • MTS-M2TS Converter for Mac or HD Converter for Mac or Click Wrap?

I am purchasing a Pansonic LUMIX DMC-ZS19K and it's HD format is 1080/60p. Which of the following softeares would be the most simple and effective to play/edit in iMovie:
    MTS-M@TS Converter for Mac
    HD Converfter for Mac
    Click Wrap
It is quite irritating that one must always do work arounds with Macs!
    Thanks!

That's a very general statement of yours, and the 'pros' using FCPX and 2k, 4k, 60p, 100p, 120p will tell you, 'not supported by Mac' is silly wrong (I'm using 1080/50p almost daily on a Mac ...)
iMovie, topic here, supports in its latest incarnation AVCHD v2, so, if your cam is within those specs, 1080/60p is no prob. ... btw: just try it , no need for academic discussion....

  • Free MTS M2TS converter app works great, once.

I've had to download it anew everyday that I need to use it. Once it is closed, it seems done. Any others with this problem? When it tries to open, get error mssg saying 'app has quit unexpectedly'....and that's it, I delete it and download it again. boo.

    Hi..
You can contact the MTS app developer for help >  http://www.pavtube.com/support/
If you do not hear back from the developer within three business days, report the issue to Apple >  How to report an issue with your iTunes Store, App Store, Mac App Store, or iBookstore purchase

  • The best free mac video converter for iphone please?

So far i used to add my avi files to my itunes library on my mac using movie2itunes. then i would right click on the movies and choose 'create iphone version'. i was expecting the video size to go down as the resolution and screen size of the iphone is much smaller compared to the resolution of the original avi file and the screen size of my macbook. so for all reasons it had to encode lesser data into the new file. instead, it keeps the same resolution! and while the original size is a mere 300mbs for 60 minutes of videos the new encoded file is a 550 mbs!
so i think using itunes for video conversion is not a very smart way of utilizing space on the iphone. can u recommend me some good, preferably free, video conversion software for mac which is smart enough to convert movies (especially avi) to iphone format and also NOT increase the size, if not decrease it!
google gives a lot of results. so thought making a post would help me narrow it down. thankyou.
i have perian installed and also quick time pro.

Mpeg Streamclip is nice because of options and its free, but I would use iSquint. Its FREE and it converts in very nice quality, with basic options. Trust me it will cover your converting needs. But if you wanna download vids from Youtube and stuff, I would use mpeg streamclip too. Both together are a nice converint combo. I hope I helped:)?

  • Is it safe to download a "free" youtube video converter for MAC and if so, which one is recommended?

Is it safe to download a "free" Youtube video converter (Ex. "freemake.com") for MAC or is there a better program recommended to convert these videos to DVD?  Thanks!

Youtube's ToU specifically state that downloads of any content is prohibited unless there is a download button available for a particular video.

  • .MTS File conversion for FCP X

Does anyone know how to convert .MTS Files from my Canon XA10 that produces AVCHD. I saved the MTS Files but not the structure Private Folders so it won't recognize the files. When I use Toast 10 or 11 I get artifacting during scene motion. The apple import function for AVCHD does not creat this artifacting as I tried when properly saved and imported into FCP.

Try ClipWrap to rewrap or convert the files to QuickTime.

I heard something about Free iPod Converter (http://www.ipod-video-converter.org/index.html)- (Windows only, good for all) and I went there, but it did not work and showed up at screen that I couldnt go anywhere. Please help.

  • Anyone Know Of A Free "Ken Burns" PlugIn For FCP HD?

Any Suggestions would be helpful. Thanks!

    Jim:
Was it you who referred me to a link for a plug-in for about a hundred bucks (cheap price to pay, IMHO) that brought drag-and-drop simplicity for this feature to FCP?
I have a lot of this to do, but I failed to bookmark your post (if it was you), and I would SORELY love to buy the program now. It was called Photo* something.
The way I've gone is hand keyframing on each still, and it just takes a lot of time.
Should I don protective clothing myself? What sort of weapons are we using? Is this like the Uma Thurman thing in Kill Bill where she rips out the only remaining eyeball of her vicious opponent?
They've banned Halloween at my kids' local school in Newton, MA. I'm sorry if I sound crabby.
Thanks for help or pointers; I don't want free stuff. I'm happy to pay people for the intense and serious work they do to make my life – and work – easier.

  • IPhone Video Converter for MAC

I have been looking everywhere and can't find a free iPhone Video Converter for the Mac. There is one but it is for windows.

Depends on the format you are converting -- Handbrake started as a Mac app (although it's also available for Windows) and is excellent.

  • Cheap camcorders for fcp - workflow - compatibility - quality

    Hello List
I am looking into purchasing a cheap camcorder (under $500), that are compatible with Final Cut Pro. Tape or Card are ok. The important thing is that I can easily edit the footage without having to do any conversion or ripping.
There used to be a supported cameras list for earlier versions of final cut. Is there one for Final Cut Pro 5?
Regarding HD versus SD in the under $500.00 camcorder pricerange, what are people's experiences / opinions regarding workflow and image quality? I understand that with a cheap HD'ish camcorder you'll get more pixels but in an 'inconvenient' delievery format that needs to be converted for FCP. Is the final image quality compareable to an uncompressed miniDV image that is smaller yet not compressed?
What about the workflow, how much of a pain is the additional conversion from mp4 or mpeg4 ( or whatever format these camcorders output ) to a dv quicktime movie?
any advice or receommendations are much appreciated.
    Thank you.
    Regards
    -sk

On an other list one guy recommended this camera:
    http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=8661959&type=product&id=1196470790 863
The price is $250.00 which is super cheap! Will my friend be able to log and capture with this camera without any hassle?
Is there a camera compatility list for FCP / FCE and IMovie?
Thank you all for your help so far. I appreciate it.

  • Edit and convert MTS/M2TS free

I like taking videos with my Cannon camcorder to freeze the sweet moments surrounding me. But it was not an easy thing to play the mts/m2ts videos recorded on the portable devices. when searching for the free solution, I found macx video converter free edition. It can convert any HD videos MKV, M2TS, AVCHD and SD videos AVI, MP4, MOV, FLV etc to the video that can be played on iPhone, iPad, iPod, and other devices. Moreover, I can use it to cut off the part I don't like, merge many videos into one, add my favorite music as background.
It's easy to use. Just a few clicks, I can transfer the videos from my camcorder to my iPad.
Surely, handbrake is another good choice, but I think its setting is a little complicated. The simpler the better.
Any friend wants to transfer the camcorder videos to your mobile phone or tablet, you  can have a try.

OK, this macx video converter free edition is free and easy to use , I am also like something simple but good to use, and free. Thx for your suggestions.

Hi sir im using fcp 7 for video editing in i mac, how can i edit mts files in fcp 7 without log n transfer, is their solution for fcp 7?

    >No, you are not right.
Going to question the biggest contributor to this forum?  (Yes, my ego is talking).  OK then...
    >Install the QT-Plugin, restart your Mac and you will be able to import and use .mts files in FCP 7.
Sure...yes, that makes it POSSIBLE to read the files natively in FCP...if they come from a Panasonic camera. BUT...just try working with those files.  Right away the system won't be nearly as responsive as it would if they were ProRes. First...there are no sequence settings for that format...so you'll have to use ProRes and have a green render bar.  BUT, that's no big deal.  The big deal is trying to work with the AVCHD format, which is VERY processor intensive...inside an application that doesn't like to work with much outside of the FCP editing codecs.
Is it possible? Sure? Will it work well...will you be as zippy and error free as if you converted to ProRes? Not by a long shot.  OH, but don't just take my word for it.  Go ahead...try it and see.  No skin off my nose...no waste of my time.  See how well this works.
I'm just here to relate real world working solutions to issues.  And yes, I did try that plugin, and boy, was editing a pain.

  • Which is the better converter for mts and mpg files?

Ok, I just have a quick question regarding conversion software. Does anyone know which is better...PAVTUBE or CLIPWRAP2? Besides the cost...pavtube is cheaper. Which one is faster and offers the best quality? OR is there even a better one out there? I have mts files and mpg files I'd like to convert for use in FCP 6.

    ClipWrap2.

  • Converting mts to format for Imovie

Still trying and trying to find an answer.  So I have tried http://www.iskysoft.com/topic-mts/convert-mtsm2ts-files-to-imovie-on-mac.html which says it will convert it to a version for imovie so I downloaded trial so that I could try it.  TOok an mts file Converted it to the version for imovie.  Tried to drag and drop it into imovie.  Nope wont do it.  Tried converting it to the MPEG format in this trial version nope wont drag and drop into imovie either.
Im willing to buy a converter but want to make sure it will work.  Have found nothing thus far that I can figure out how to convert an MTS file to a version that can be dragged and dropped into Imovie.
    Sigh so frustrated by this.
I have mts video files on my desktop in a folder.  Which I had taken from camera.  They are no longer on my camera so I cant download directly into imovie.  Trying to figure out how to convert them to a format for imovie and have tried several trials another of those being wondershare.
Maybe I am just slow but have had no success so far.
I have spent literally hours so far tonight trying to solve this problem.

    mts doesn't need a 'conversion' just a re-wrapping.
    two options
    • ReWrap2M4V - google for it, it's a free automator script; to make it run, you have to install two other items, basically to get a functioning installtion of the ffmpeg package - sounds tricky, just follow installtion advices, easy. re-wraps any mts within split-seconds
    • AVCCAM - is a QT-plugin provided by Panasonic; it teaches any QT-based app to handle mts; after DL in installation, use most popular tool Mpeg Streamclip to open your mts; then, without any settings nor conversions, goto 'save as' and choose mov.
