Free music downloads, but won't let me get them

I have never tried to get any of the free downloads before tonight, and when I try, but clicking on Get Free Download , the window pops up for me to buy them, then another window telling me that they are not available for purchase!
How do you get the freebies?
I am using 8.0.1

I get them all the time without any problem. But, I think there is something wrong with the iTunes Store tonight. Normally, the freebies are free. Tonight, the store wants to charge for them. Wait until tomorrow and try again.

What iPhone do you have? You can check in settings>>general>> about.
If you have a 3G you cannot update beyond iOS 4.2.1. The 3G is over 4 years old an was discontinued over 2 1/2 years ago. You need the latest ios to run the latest versions of some apps. If you have a 3GS you can update.
If your phone is not responding, reset it by pressing and holding down both the home button ad lock/ sleep button simultaneously until the Apple logo appears.

OS X Mavericks says download but won't let me

I am trying to download a version of Final Cut Pro and Aperature which needs OS X Mavericks upgrade.... it shows in my account but won't install or download the upgrade..... why and what can I do to get this fixed.

I currently show that I have 10.7.5 and when I went to the Mavericks it didn't do the command that it was downloading. But when I go into purchase it shows it has downloaded.
I received a download code from a friend that works at Apple for Final Cut.... that also will not download.
I also tried to do any upgrades to Lion that I may have missed and it says my system is up to date.
In my Purchase tab it shows I need to Install Final cut but it won't install.... and it shows Maverick and says DOWNLOAD but when I click on either one it won't do anything.
Could it be that the Redemption Code are from my friends configurations?

My fcpx 'sees' the movies in side window, but won't let me drag them into the timeline. Any idea why?

problem started when i moved my whole photo library to an external. FCPX wouldn't see it, so I moved it back- to the original spot/. And still fcpx wouldn't relink. So i started to 'rebuild' my movie and drag movie clips again into the timeline but it won't let me (tho it 'see's the clips when i click on 'camera' icon).
It allows me to drag in the original pics (jpegs) but not any of the movies ...arghhh pls help thx!!!!

What version are you using with 10.8.5? Why did you import video into iPhoto? What are the complete specs of the video files? Are they in formats that are compatible with FCP?

Bought slideshow songs but won't let me use them for that

I bought an album for use with power point presentations but itunes won't let me convert the files so I can use them for the exact purpose I purchased them. I don't want to do anything illegal...just use the songs for the correct purpose.

You'll have to burn a CD of the songs and then reimport them to use them in a program other than iTunes.

Apps installed but won't let me access them

i have installed a couple apps onto my computer that is a windows 8 computer and whenever I got to access them it will not let me access them. It takes me to the description page.

-spweb shows all sites but won't let me access them.

I'm trying to access a document library on a sub site but can't for some reason.
In powershell I enter "Get-SPWeb -Site https://sitename/site/"
It then shows me a list of all the sub sites to "site".

https://sitename/site/b
https://sitename/site/b/b1
But if I type in "Get -SPWeb -Site https://sitename/site/a/" it gives me an error as if the site didn't exist.
any ideas?

That is because -Site switch is for the Site Collection from which you are asking it to get list of Webs. https://sitename/site/a/ is not a site collection
This should work.
$web = Get -SPWeb "https://sitename/site/a/"

HT1657 Rented movie says its downloaded but won't let me play it and not in library

We downloaded a movie but can't "play" it. No option to play

I'd report the problem to the iTunes Store.
Log in to the Store. Click on "Account" in your Quick Links. When you're in your Account information screen, go down to Purchase History and click "See all".
Find the item that is not downloading properly. If you can't see "Report a Problem" next to the item, click the "Report a problem" button. Now click the "Report a Problem" link next to the item.

Photos show in finder, but won't let me select them...

For some reason I can't access some of my photos - when the finder window opens and I click on Photos, I can see the thumbnail of the picture in iphoto but the file name/number is a light gray color instead of in black. (I did not delete photos). Any ideas?

What Finder window? Are these images in iPhoto?
There are many, many ways to access your files in iPhoto: You can use any Open / Attach / Browse dialogue. On the left there's a Media heading, your pics can be accessed there. Command-Click for selecting multiple pics.

There's a similar option in Outlook and many, many other apps. If you use Apple's Mail, Entourage, AOL or Eudora you can email from within iPhoto.
If you use a Cocoa-based Browser such as Safari, you can drag the pics from the iPhoto Window to the Attach window in the browser.
If you want to access the files with iPhoto not running:
For users of 10.6 and later: You can download a free Services component from MacOSXAutomation which will give you access to the iPhoto Library from your Services Menu.
Using the Services Preference Pane you can even create a keyboard shortcut for it.
For Users of 10.4 and 10.5 Create a Media Browser using Automator (takes about 10 seconds) or use this free utility Karelia iMedia Browser
Other options include:
Drag and Drop: Drag a photo from the iPhoto Window to the desktop, there iPhoto will make a full-sized copy of the pic.
File -> Export: Select the files in the iPhoto Window and go File -> Export. The dialogue will give you various options, including altering the format, naming the files and changing the size. Again, producing a copy.
Show File: a. On iPhoto 09 and earlier: Right- (or Control-) Click on a pic and in the resulting dialogue choose 'Show File'. A Finder window will pop open with the file already selected. 3.b.
b: On iPhoto 11 and later: Select one of the affected photos in the iPhoto Window and go File -> Reveal in Finder -> Original. A Finder window will pop open with the file already selected.

You won't be able to change your rescue email address until you can answer 2 of your questions, you will need to contact iTunes Support / Apple to get the questions reset.

The message has been placed in your Outbox. Now when I go to the outbox I can not access it. It is like it's locked. She has and IPad version 1. Any help would be appreciated.

If you can't use the mail app now - if it is frozen - quit the app and restart the iPad.

In your case I would check the router and WLan configuration again.
I mean you could try to disable the encryption in WLan router and could try to connect to open wireless lan.

This is PSE 13? If so, it's not a bug, it's a feature. The new adaptive grid view in the organizer, where you see the thumbnails edge-to-edge, doesn't do stacks or version sets. Press. Ctrl+D/Command+D to get back to the old detail view instead.
