Free stuff promised at Registration doesn't

I've attempted registration of my new 3rd Gen iPod about 10 times and after it finds my information and I answer the questions there, each time it promises some free things.. I hit on OK and it says...
We could not complete your iTunes Store request.
The requested resource was not found.
There was an error in the iTunes Store. Please try again later.
Is there a limited amount of these? or something else going on?

Hooray! I had the EXACT problem originally mentioned in this thread. I am so glad I found this thread. After reading your response, I ejected my iPod, logged out of iTunes Store, logged back it, then plugged in my iPod. Went through the iPod registration prompts again, just as I had done numerous times before, but this time it worked! The stuff started downloading immediately, and I assume the registration is now complete and next time I plug it in, it won't try to get me to register again. If it does, I'll be back to this thread.

The Wonders of Free Stuff

So there I was, having set up my wife's new PC, but not yet getting a network printer (or a device to share what we already have). Obviously, the first thing I have to help her with has to be printed rom my PC.
In the past, I would have simply used a diskette, and later, a portable hard drive, and later still, a thumb drive. I might have even e-mailed it, which isn't exactly free because I pay for our domains. But very close.
Now, I just sign her up for a free DropBox account and it all happens in the background. No more sneakernet, and no need to share drives, (leaving things open to other problems). And no need for a NAS. (Not yet, anyway)
That is just one example of free stuff on the Internet. The amazing thing is that so much of what we use every day is basically free. Yes, we pay for Internet access. Even if we use a library PC, someone is paying for it. But just like network television, the amount of free things that can be paid for by advertising is just astounding. The thing is, I don't even see the advertising on Dropbox, which makes it all the more amazing to me.
The free Type Styles at Style4Type are more along the lines of easily understood free stuff. He entices you with really great free stuff, and if you really like it, for only a little money you can have the entire thing. Same with Video Copilot. Training for free and if you happen to buy something, even better.
The Creative Cow site is a different kind of free. The advertising is in your face. But, to be honest, I don't really even notice it much anymore except when it is something I might actually want to buy. But the quality of the training is remarkable.
The best kind of free with advertising in your face is Google, I think. The ads can be set to pretty much just be stuff I wish I could buy. Which may actually be worse but seems better. It is easier to ignore clothing ads than camera ads, or tripods, or big screen TVs. The things that Google does with maps, by letting me set up a location on my PC and then automatically have it appear on my phone so that the GPS can get me there? Wonderful. I use it almost every single day for work.
Remember back when Curt Wrigley was spending a fortune on bandwidth for his tutorials? Now YouTube is free and we don't even blink at putting up huge files, at 1080p using a high bitrate to maintain quality. For FREE!
I guess that every now and then, we all ought to take a moment and consider the advantages of advertising over paying outright for services. It really is a different world than the one I thought I was going to see when I grew up. My only real complaint is this: Where the heck is my flying car? I was promised a flying car back in 1959. I found the drawings I made when we cleaned out my mother's place after she passed. There were lots of flying cars. Detroit has had enough time. Where is my flying car???

Free CC would require some hefty advertising to make it pay.
Would you use it for free if they insisted on watermarking your video or photos? Just a little watermark. Nothing intrusive?
Or, how about if you had to watch an advertisement, like on YouTube, every time you opened the app, or every 15 minutes of use?
I think I would rather just pay them. But then again, I pay for cable TV. Some people don't and perhaps they would be OK with the YouTubeization of CC?

The free only counts for devices activated after September. So first you need to activate the iPad (go through all the set up stuff), then, using the same Apple ID you used to activate the iPad, go to the App store and search for Pages, etc. When you download them you should see them for free.
Being free is tied to the Apple ID used to activate a device. For example, I bought my iPod in June, so I'd need to pay for the apps, which is why they're not universally free in the app store.
After you activate the iPad it may take a little time for the app store to realize 'yeah, just got a new device, this purchase is free'. I've seen people say they go right in, see it for cost, then go back in a little bit and the apps are now free.

If it says your billing info is wrong that means that your credit card issuer is refusing to approve your account. You will have to solve the problem with your bank or credit card company.

The problem was that you migrated CS6. Unfortunately, migration doesn't work because it doesn't move all the files.
First, you'll need to use the Adobe Cleaner Tool to remove the components that were installed:

'erase free space' not secure - it doesn't seem to work?

Just wanted to point out that the erase free space option in Mountain Lion does not seem to work, at all.
A week ago I ran erase free space on my primary data drive then later, out of curiosity, I ran an inexpensive third party recovery program on the disk just to see what happened. Interestingly enough the recovery software was able to find and restore files that I had deleted over a year ago.
This has me thinking, so today I tried it again, only with a 7 pass erase this time. Nope, same thing. After a 7 pass erase (erase free space) this low end, less than $35 recovery software turns up tons of files, everything from stuff I just deleted a few days ago to stuff from over a year ago.
If I'm doing something wrong I would love for someone to point it out to me. Not that I'm toting state secrets or anything on my mac, but still - my privacy is important to me and I assume it is to others.
I'd encourage folks to try this out for themselves.
My set up is a 2011 macbook pro with an SSD as the boot drive, I've got a second harddrive installed in the optical bay and this is where my home folder lives. The secondary drive is the drive where I'm running erase free space.
The only thing that I can think of is that, even though the button is not greyed out, maybe I need to be booted to recovery in order to succesfully run erase free space on system drives?
Any input would be greatly appreciated, otherwise this seems like a pretty ugly security lapse on the part of Apple. Imagine if you're selling your machine and secure erasing before turnign it over to its new owner - and the new owner can run a $35 dollar recovery program and access everything on your machine.

I think that the issue may have to do with being booted to the system while trying to erase free space. I ran a 7 pass erase free space on a 1TB external Lacie drive this afternoon, the operation took a bit over 6 hours to complete and recovery sofatware is turning up nothing.
This is in contrast to the main drive, which my original post referenced, which is a 500gb 7200 rpm internal drive. A 7 pass secure erase took less than 5 minutes to complete - so, even though the drive is 1/2 the size, there's obviously something not right with the 7 minutes time to complete.
Tomorrow I'm going to try either booting to another account (which doesn't utilize this partcular disk) or booting to recovery and seeing what happens.
I have a feeling that this will solve the problem - I'll post back tomorrow evening.

ALV Tree event registration doesn't work

the following is the registration-form which shall register a item-double-click event to my alv-tree-object. when doing the double-click it doesn't open my own methods in the event-handler class but the standard ones and nothing happens further.

It doesn't matter where I place my double-click. The standard event handling "handle_event" is called.
Instead of this I would like to have my coding.....
Changing the cl_gui_alv_tree to cl_gui_column_tree doesn't work since my tree isn't a reference of column_tree but of alv_tree. So I would have to rebuild nearly the entire tree. This cannot be a solution since I guess the double-click item should work anyway.

Can't get free stuff

When I try and download the free tv shows, like "Lost Survival" I get a message "Your free song balance is out of date. Click OK to refresh and try your purchase again." But clicking OK just makes the message go away and I get the same thing when I try and purchase.

Try logging out of your iTunes Store account and then log back in.
If that doesn't help, send a message to the iTunes Store customer service department through the form at the bottom of their web page and explain the problem to them.

Need help in getting free gb promised

I am posting this on this forum because I have been unsuccessful calling VZW Customer Support. I upgraded 2 lines to iphone 6 on or around 9/22/14. I was promised 1 free gb of additional data per line.....this is clearly stated in writing on the receipts that were included with the phones. I have called VZW support a minimum of 5 times in the past 3 months and still do not have the promo data!!!??? This comment is for VZW Customer Support......if you see this please respond or contact me. Thank you.

This response might be a little out of sequence but yes, I was on the More Everything plan when I upgraded. My opinion of the problem is that I purchased the phones on backorder in September and the phones were not delivered and activated until October. I am guessing the 1 gb free promo was over on September 30th but I was assured that as long as I ordered the phones prior to the end of September I would receive the free data promo. I have attached the 2 receipts that came with the phones and they clearly show at the bottom the 1 Free gb data promo should be applied. At this point I am very frustrated with the process. Please review my account notes to see process and do what you can to help.
