Free Transform/Rotate Causes Flash CS3 to Crash
This problem is driving me nuts. I'm importing a 2000 x 3000
jpeg image and converting it to a symbol. everything seems fine
until I try to do a free transform and rotate the image. Then when
I proceed to cut the image, CS3 crashes. I can reproduce the error
every time. It works fine if the image is smaller but 2000 x 3000
is not too much to ask at all!
Has anyone else had similar problems?
I can reproduce this error on a Mac and a PC.
UPDATE: Breaking the bitmap apart after importing the image
seems to remedy the problem. Is this the only fix? Doesn't seem
right to me that I can't just easily drop in an semi-large asset
without having to break it apart.
UPDATE 2: Tried doing this with a larger asset and this did
not work at all. It crashes, I feel like Flash has a hard time with
large assets but I need the assets large so when I zoom in, I do
not lose quality. What am I doing wrong here? How do you guys
handle your zoom ins?
Please tell me there is a fix!

Free Transform Rotation Issue - Layer rotates/moves by itself after clicking on it?
Hey all. Since the last update, I have been experiencing this weird issue while using Free Transform. Sometimes, after I invoke Free Transform and then click on the layer I am transforming, it seems to rotate by itself. Usually clockwise. It happens really quickly. It's almost like my mouse cursor is off center when I click on the layer and the it's like the layer rotates to match the location of my cursor. It's so weird and quite difficult to describe. I have also experienced the layer moving quickly to the right after clicking on it while in the Free Transform state. I have tried 2 different mice and experienced the issue on both of them. I have also tried different mousing surfaces and experienced the same thing. It doesn't happen every time but just sometimes. It started doing it since the latest update. It's really annoying. Just wondering if anyone else has this issue.

Flash CS3 hard crash on Debug Movie
I've logged this bug but wanted to post it to the boards in
case anyone else is having this same problem. It's been going on
since I purchased Flash CS3 pro and has been really crippling my
development workflow because I can only get the debugger to work
maybe 1 in 4 times.
I also tried reinstalling the latest Java hoping that might
help as the bug referenced Java.

1. Debug Movie (Flash CS3 IDE) with licensed off-the-shelf
Flash CS3 Pro.

Results: Immediate crash of Flash IDE
And unable to re-open Flash IDE by clicking on an FLA file or
Flash Shortcut, which give the message "Windows cannot find
'[filename]' Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try
again. To search for a file, click the Start button, and then click
Search." Must restart or logout in order to be able to open Flash
again.
Expected results:
No crash, debugger should work.

I have a Windows vista and have flash cs3 installed. For the
first 2 weeks or so, it worked perfectly, then, it started crashing
whenever I open the application or a .fla file.

I am using flash CS3 and 60% of the time when I hit
CTRL+ENTER to publish the flash file, it crashes. It doesn't give
me an error message, it just crashes and asks if I want to send an
error report to microsoft. Does anyone else have this problem? Is
there a way to fix it?

Flash CS3 Professional CRASHING
I can't post in the Customer Service Center because it's my
work's copy and I have no info on the software.
Flash CS3 Professional is crashing immediately (with generic
error message of having to close Flash) when I open an existing fla
file OR try to create a new one. It crashed originally when I
accidentally pasted a paragraph of text into the font tab instead
of a font. I restarted and it was still broken. I got the tech
person to uninstall and reinstall the software and it STILL
CRASHES. What is going on?? Anyone??? I need this to do aspects of

Free Transform rotate using keyboard possible?
Does anyone know if it's possible to make fine adjustments to rotate an image using a keyboard when in Free Transform mode?
Eg, I can use the left and right keys to nudge left and right but it's awkward trying to use a trackpad to make fine adjustments when rotating in image.
THANKSWith Free Transform active, highlight the Angle field in the Option Bar, and us the up an down arrow keys to change it. Holding Shift while doing so increases the amount of each nudge.

Flash CS3 Professional crashing on exit
Hi to all,
I have a strange problem. Every time I use Flash CS3, the
program works with no problem, with no lags and crashes. But once
my work is done and I close it, Windows prompts a dialog about a
"Flash not responding" warning. It happens every time I close the
program, why is that?
My laptop has 2 Gigs of Ram, Vista Home Premium.
Thanks in advance...I do not recommend you to use CS3. And Vista. Too big, heavy
and slow. If it was not a program but something else, you'd run

Flash CS3 now crashes randomly after 0-30 minutes

I've been using flash CS3 for years without problem.
Since the beginning of nov.2010, it crashes after some time of use. More precisely the toolbar disappears, then reappears, some GUI elements blink. It's not related to a specific user action. When this happens, closing flash is difficult (the window remains here). When switching to another app, some Flash parts remains. The graphical memory seems saturated. Launching another app is met with a window error message. A windows restarts becomes necessary.
This problem arises only in Flash, and with no other apps from CS3 suite.
2 colleagues of mine has the same issue, also in the last weeks (= nov 2010). We work in separate places. We didn't exchange files.
We are on Win XP Home Edition, Dell computer.
They have more recent PCs than mine (which clearly meets the CS3 requirements), with enough memory,etc..
One colleague has reinstalled winXP. The problem arised again, but I don't know when. He also tried CS4 and CS5 and had the same problem.
Today he un-installed all Adobe products with this utility: http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cs5clean.html.
After this hour of uninstall process, he reinstalled Flash CS3 and used it without network/internet (no funky updates): The problem was still here.
Does anyone has an idea?After desinstalling Avira Antivir (and installing another antivirus software), the problem disappeared.
Just disabling Antivir is not enough.

I don't understand your interface - I have asked this question three times now. Anyway, I need to know what to do ASAP. After updating Flash, as your window asked me to, it's now crashing IE9 and says something about the 'about:blank' causing some problem. I am not a techie so PLEASE tell me what to do.
Do you crash on all websites? What happens if you go to this page: Flash Player Version
If you uninstall Flash Player using this utility: http://download.macromedia.com/get/flashplayer/current/support/uninstall_flash_player.exe does Internet Explorer stop crashing? Flash Player itself should not be complaining about "about:blank". You might want to run a malware scanner such as the free version of MalwareBytes. -
Transferring Files Causes Bridge CS3 to Crash
I am using Bridge CS3 as a means of cataloguing a lot of imagery. I have gotten to about 2600 images in one folder and every time I try to drag more into the folder Bridge crashes. Any ideas on how much info a folder can handle, or bridge in general. I am saving these images to a Server so it is not a memory issue on my internal hard drive.
The last version of Bridge CS3 was 2.1.1.9. Make sure you are updated.
That being said, all versions of Bridge 2.x were downright awful, miserable, despicable and intolerable. It should have been fixed for free.
Fortunately, Bridge 3.x in CS4 is a different animal, vastly improved, but it's not free. -
What is causing Flash Player to crash shortly after I download and install the latest version
It only normally lasts a day or two, but the last time it crashed on the first use the same day I downloaded and installed it. I am running Windows 7 Home Edition with Firefox as my browser, and I have Bitdefender antivirus as well as MalwareBytes anti malware installed and active. As far as I can tell Flash Player is the only program affected this way. Is there any other substitute player I can install that works as a plugin to Firefox and won't crash the day it's installed?
When I used to see this with Win 7 it was because the Shockwave player (not Flash) was outdated.
To make sure you're up to date for both, download the following:
Flash Player Uninstaller
Flash Player Plug-in (All other browsers)
Also, download these:
Shockwave Player Uninstaller
Shockwave Player 12 FULL installer (ther browsers)
Save all the files and close your browser.
Run the uninstallers first (both of them)
Go to: C/Windows/System32
Delete the Macromed folder.
Go to: C/Windows/SysWOW64 (if your Windows is 64 bit)
Delete the Macromed folder.
Open your Registry Editor (Start>Run or press the Windows key + R and type 'regedit' [minus the quotes] and click OK)
In the Registry Editor, go to:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE
Delete the Macromedia folder (Right click and choose "Delete").
Go to:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software and delete the Macromedia folder there too.
Close the Registry Editor and empty your recycle bin.
Run the Flash Player installer, and then the Shockwave FULL installer.

Print dialog in Firefox causes Flash player to crash
We have an application that allows viewing and printing reports. It works fine in IE and Chrome. In Firefox, when Print button is clicked and print dialog opens, if it is left for 30-45 seconds without user interaction Flash crashes. The problem exists in FF4 and higher. Does anyone know a workaround for this?

This issue seems to be related to hang protection that was added to Firefox. To disable follow these steps:
1. In the Location bar, type about:config and press.
2. The about:config page should appear. In the Filter box, type dom.ipc.plugins.timeoutSecs
3. Double click the setting and change the number to -1 to disable hang protection.
I set it to -1 and the problem went away. This isn't really a valid solution because we have hundreds of thousands of users and we can't tell them how to configure their browsers. I am waiting on someone internally to test with the regular Flash player. I am using the debugger player.
Was able to test non-debug version. Problem exists with either. -
Nested Components (Flash CS3, AS2) Crashes Flash

When using a component within another component, Flash
crashes with no error message. How do I solve this problem? I've
tried to use Adobe's components within my own ones, and my own
nested. Flash crashes.

NiclasThe FLVPlayback component is by far the easiest... but if you really want to create your own buttons, then I suggest you build a custom NetStream player. This type of player is much more powerful and versatile means of playing video than the Playback component. Keep in mind that it does require a little hand coding... but again...we are firstly advising you to use the Playback component. If you can't use that, then NetStream may be your only other option.
However, skip the .wmv and go with an .flv or .f4v file. The .wmv compression is not very good and your video file may be too large to download quickly.

With a NetStream player, you can build controls to pause/stop/start as well as interact with other parts of your Flash.

AE CS3: Bridge CS3 Causes AE CS3 to Crash on Open
I just wanted to post something here to help out anyone who is running Windows Vista 64-bit with Production Premium CS3.
Both AE CS3 & Bridge CS3 work fine - however when I have bridge open first and then launch after effects, after effects constantly crashes on the title screen.
After looking for several fixes for this, I tried closing bridge. After that I was able to launch AE CS3 just fine. I can then re-open bridge and both programs run just fine.
Another one of those weird quirks. Hope this helps someone out.
