Free update for Indesign 1.0 to 1.5

Hi all,
I got myself the version 1.0 from Indesign. Now I heard actually that I could get the 1.5 version if I have the full program.
Can some one help me out where to get it?

More specifically, I have Acrobat 9.0 installed on my laptop running Windows 8.1. The updates function in Acrobat returns a message that it cannot find the update server. When I try to download updates from Adobe direct, even if it is only to update to the 9.1 version I get a message that my machine doesn't have the software installed on it. BTW, the 9.0 installation I have was actually an upgrade from Acrobate std 6.0.

The battery will run UP TO 7 hours.
The run time depends on what you are doing.
Anything that puts a heavy load on the CPU will reduce the run time.
There is a fixed amount of energy in a charged battery.
The faster you take energy out the shorter the run time will be.
Turn off bluetooth.
Reduce backlight to as low as is comfortable for you. I use level 5.
Watching video uses a lot of energy.

This can occur if you bought the machine used and iLife was reinstalled with another AppleID.
This also can occur if the "free apps" you downloaded have paid upgraded versions and/or are now payware and you can't get updates.
All software from MAS is copy protected, it might be free as in "no charge" but it's not free in the sense you can share it with others.

you should always make a backup of data regularly, especially when upgrading to a higher version of OS X. Just because it's free has no bearing on it giving anyone any problems. The only concern you may have is not all older programs will work with 10.9 that do with 10.6. FWIW, I went and bought one and my bricked ATV2 still would not Restore.   Had to return it to Apple.

Problems installing digital publishing update for Indesign CS6

Hello,
I am having some problems installing update I need for Indesign CS6. I'm working on an interactive pdf and need to update my version of cs6 to use the digital publishing suite. Upon attempts to use the 'folio builder' I am asked to update and go to 'help' 'updates'. The Adobe Patch installer begins to load then immediately crashes. I have tried installing the publishing update from adobe licensing but the same problem happens when I attempt to install the file using the patch installer.
I'm using CS6 version 8.0, can anyone help?

Are there free updates for Numbers 09 v2.3?

I am looking for a free software update for Numbers 09 v2.3. All of a sudden I cannot open spreadsheets that I was working on last week! The same happened with Pages and the I found the update and it's now opening all documents. Any thoughts or do I need to buy the update for Numbers?

If you updated to Mavericks and then performed all software updates it is likely you installed the latest version of the the iWorks applications. There are now two versions on you computer.
The lastest version (3.0) is located in the foldler: "/Applications"
The previous version (2.3) is located in the folder "/Applications/iWork '09"

Mountain Lion FREE update for MacBook Pro Retina 2012

Hello, looking for an honest support.. I bought my Macbook Pro Retina 2012 on this 15 July 2012 from Apple's authorised premium reseller of Bangladesh (Executive Machines Ltd.).. I just knew & saw yesterday that Mountain Lion was published & it is FREE for the buyers who bought the new qualifying machine (as my one is!).. so I just followed the apple.com eligible link and provided my details (address of my current residence which happens to be "Bangladesh", country, city & my valid macbook pro "serial number"..).. after that received a claim reference number mentioning that the FREE redeem code will be emailed to me after checking my claim has been validated.. but after carefully going through that eligibility link I noticed that claims are not eligible for outside US/ Canada.. and now I've provided my serial number & it has been used! and moreover, I did not recieve any email notification from Apple even after 24+ hours!.. what should I do now? .. do I need to buy this Mountain Lion once again even after I am eligible for the FREE update as Apple mentioned before or I just lost my free redeem opportunity as I bought it from outside US (event though from Apple's authorised reseller!!)?? please need honest suggestion..

As you can only get OS X from Internet Recovery, you can't get the OS X Mountain Lion stored on the HDD and make a bootable volume with it. Also, you can't install the OS X version you have on your other Mac because the hardware of this MacBook Pro with Retina display isn't compatible with that OS X version.
In your case, reinstall OS X and see what happens. If you can't reinstall OS X, take the computer to an Apple Store because you can't do anything with that MacBook Pro now

Microsoft advisor tells me there is a free update for Adobe, but where?

I am running Adobe Professional version 8.3.1. and, having run Microsoft's upgrade advisor for moving from XP Pro to Windows 7 it tells me I need a free upgrade for this software.
Having spent an hour on the Adobe site from following the link provided by Microsoft I have given up!

AA8 is currently at 8.3.1. There are 2 methods for doing an update, Help>Updates and go to http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/product.jsp?product=1&platform=Windows. However, you are currently at the maximum update. AA8 is not supported by Adobe for Win7, but many have been successful with Win7-32bit. The success reports for Win7-64bit can be counted on a hand and I am not sure I can conclude it works properly on that system. The only way to be sure is to try it.
The other option is to upgrade (this is not a free option). The current upgrade is to AA XI as already mentioned. On upgrades you need to be careful that you do not lose the option to upgrade at some point. The current upgrade requires AA8 at a minimum for $199.00 from the Adobe store.

I have spent some time geting Java automation to work with InDesign, it's not my favorite language but I learned some things that may help and put them into some course content that Adobe should put out shortly; will post here when it is available online.
Our company, Silicon Publishing, provides general InDesign Server automation training, though we don't have a current offering that specifically targets Java we teach some of the basics of working with Java (many unique techniques!) and could arrange a limited form of training.
The documentation and samples with the SDK should take you part of the way there: for specific scripts, it has been helpful to us to get things working in an easier-to-write (i.e. JavaScript) script first, then translate such a script to Java, taking into account the unique characteristics of the language and various tactics (outlined in the SDK documentation) to address these.
