Free upgrade for purchase within a few days?

I came across this today.
http://www.redmondpie.com/apple-slashes-price-of-macbook-pro-with-retina-display -updates-processors/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+ RedmondPie+%28Redmond+Pie%29
So if I purchased a Macbook 15" Retina Display a few days ago and Apple announces an upgrade, can I take my Macbook to the retail store and get a free upgrade too?

To go along with Clinton post if you just bought the system, AT the Regular Price, you have 14 days to return it for a Full Refund and then get the Newer Updated Version.
But there are No Upgrades that can be done to YOUR Current system. You have to Return it for Refund then But another one with the newer upgrades.
So As Usual the people at the Apple store, if that is where you called (A real Apple Store), have no Clue what they are talking about.
There are NO Upgradeable parts in a Retina Model Macbook Pro.

How do I cancel an upgrade for refund within 15 days as stated in the purchase upgrade section?

    Hi there gayneln,
You may find the information in the article below helpful.
    iCloud: Cancel your storage upgrade
If you upgrade or renew your storage but no longer need it, you can cancel. If you cancel your storage plan within 15 days of an upgrade or within 45 days after a yearly payment, you can contact Apple for a full refund. After this period, you can downgrade your storage for the following year.

  • Buy MX 2004 now, free upgrade for how long

If I buy an upgrade to MX 2004 now, how long will Adobe give
me for a free upgrade to Director v11 ?
    30 days? 60 days?
I'm inclined to put this off as long as I can... Don't want
to buy, then buy again in 90 days !!!!!

policy is, when a new version is released.
I am wondering the same exact thing. I want to upgrade but I
    am not
going to upgrade twice! Adobe needs to be more honest and
    open with its
customer base or they will loose business. They have recently
    extended
upgrade privileges to D7 and D8 users to Feb 28, 2007, but
    provide
no information on the web site regarding the upcoming
    version. That is
a sure way to piss people off. Here's this great upgrade
    opportunity
and then you find out two months later that you just bought a
    three-year
old product that's totally out of date. Adobe doesn't even
    list
Director in its drop down menu of products - you have to
    select More
Products and then go search for it. I guess I will try to
    contact them
directly as well as see if they have anything useful to say!

  • How to redeem a free upgrade for OS X Lion

I just buy a new macbook pro on 10 July, how can i redeem the free upgrade for OS X Lion?
As many people say, can redeem through Itunes, but when i click in the redeem at the Quick Link, it want me to enter my gift card or other iTunes Code.
What should i do with the code? Where can i get the code?

I just purchase MacBookPro 2011 Version (MC700). May I know how can I claim free upgrade for OS X Lion?
I note that you marked correct a response that seems to assume you just bought the machine and are interested in a free Mountain Lion update, but you state your machine is a 2011 model.  I'm not sure whether that was a typo or there was a miscommunication, but it's important to understand that the Lion Up-to-Date program ended a while ago.  If you are hoping to update to Lion for free, you've missed the boat on that one, and you definitely won't qualify for the Mountain Lion Up-to-Date program.  If you want Lion, you'll need to buy it.  If you wait a month, though, you can get Mountain Lion instead for $10 cheaper (Mountain Lion will only be $20, Lion is $30), and you can upgrade straight from Snow Leopard to Mountain Lion.

I turned off my subscription for a newspaper, a few days late. How do I request refund thru iTunes?

You can try contacting iTunes support and see if they will refund or credit you (but I think that some subscriptions say that refunds aren't given) : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page, then Purchases, Billing & Redemption

Yes, it's in your Applications folder and is called "Install OS X". Make sure to empty your trash afterwards to clear the space.

  • Free Upgrade to LR6 within 30 Days of LR5 Purchase.........

I pruchased LR5 on the 3rd of this month.  Because the release of LR6 came within a month of my purchase (directly from the ADOBE website BTW so they have all the records), I'm due a free upgrade to the latest version.  I've been trying to get this upgrade for over a WEEK and a half now.  Bounced around from one person to the next, from one chat session to the next. I feel like I'm stuck In an MC Escher drawing going from one magical staircase to another... to another... to another.  And NONE OF THEM LEADING ANYWHERE!  Every ADOBE representative I've spoken with or "Chatted" with agrees I'm due the free upgrade yet NO ONE can seem to make it freakin' happen.
This is without a doubt, the most absurd and infuriating customer service expierence I've ever had.  ADOBE should be ashamed...
There has GOT to be an easier, better way.

    See if this helps:

  • No free upgrade for Logic 7 purchased 2 weeks ago (august 27)

I purchased Logic Express 7 on August 27 (16 days ago). I just contacted the apple store via online chat, and here is the transcript. I'm feeling seriously ripped off at the moment.
    * You are chatting with Caissa, an Apple Expert
Hi, my name is Caissa. Welcome to Apple!
    Caissa: Good evening
Caissa: How may I help you today?
    You: Hi.
You: I purchased Logic Express 7 on August 27, and Logic Express 8 just came out.
You: It would be most distressing if I don't get a free upgrade.
You: How do I get my upgrade to logic express 8?
Caissa: At this time there is no free upgrade available.
Caissa: You would need to purchase the new suite.
    You: That is terrible.
You: As a new apple user, I must register my deepest dissatisfaction.
    Caissa: Sorry to hear that.
    *

Today I summoned the zen patience to call Apple and complain, and they did help me. I explained that not only had I bought LE7 since 8/1, I had also bought my first mac since 8/1. Although I had to wait on hold for 15 minutes for Applecare, and then get transferred to "customer care" (another 7 minutes on hold), they agreed to send me the upgrade for free. I didn't get a refund of the price difference (perhaps I should have asked; that was not offered). I'm prepared to write off the "overpayment", since I'm not being charged for the upgrade.
FYI, one thing that they seem to have taken seriously, besides the above -- I was experiencing frequent system hangs (screeen grays out a bit and says to hold down the power button a few seconds to kill the system). Apparently the stability problems I was having with LE7 are known to Apple. This angle might work for customers who bought long before the new release...
Thanks for the friendly suggestions. I hope this may help somebody else avoid feeling ripped off. The "stop whining" crowd, though that position is not entirely without merit, can still bite me ;-p

  • Acrobat DC Std. free upgrade for recent Acrobat XI purchaser?

Does Adobe provide a free upgrade to DC if I just purchased Acrobat XI Std. through Dell on a new laptop?

    Hi rickm31959255,
If you have purchased Acrobat XI standard subscription, you can upgrade your copy of Acrobat to Standard DC version. Download Acrobat DC from  Adobe Document Cloud | Adobe Acrobat DC    and sign in with your Adobe ID credentials. However if you have got  a serial key for Acrobat XI Standard then you can' t upgrade to DC using the same serial key.
    Thanks

    Upgrading to Snow Leopard
You can purchase Snow Leopard through the Apple Store: Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard - Apple Store (U.S.). The price is $19.99 plus tax. You will be sent physical media by mail after placing your order.
After you install Snow Leopard you will have to download and install the Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo v1.1 to update Snow Leopard to 10.6.8 and give you access to the App Store. Access to the App Store enables you to download Mountain Lion if your computer meets the requirements.
         Snow Leopard General Requirements
           1. Mac computer with an Intel processor
           2. 1GB of memory
           3. 5GB of available disk space
           4. DVD drive for installation
           5. Some features require a compatible Internet service provider;
               fees may apply.
           6. Some features require Apple’s iCloud services; fees and
               terms apply.
Upgrading from Snow Leopard to Lion or Mavericks
To upgrade to Mavericks you must have Snow Leopard 10.6.8, Lion, or Mountain Lion installed. Purchase and download Mavericks (Free) from the App Store. Sign in using your Apple ID. The file is quite large, over 5 GBs, so allow some time to download. It would be preferable to use Ethernet because it is nearly four times faster than wireless.
         OS X Mavericks- System Requirements
Macs that can be upgraded to OS X Mavericks
             1. iMac (Mid 2007 or newer) — Model Identifier 7,1 or later
             2. MacBook (Late 2008 Aluminum, or Early 2009 or newer) —
                 Model Identifier 5,1 or later
             3. MacBook Pro (Mid/Late 2007 or newer) — Model Identifier 3,1 or later
             4. MacBook Air (Late 2008 or newer) — Model Identifier 2,1 or later
             5. Mac mini (Early 2009 or newer) — Model Identifier 3,1 or later
             6. Mac Pro (Early 2008 or newer) — Model Identifier 3,1 or later
             7. Xserve (Early 2009) — Model Identifier 3,1 or later
To find the model identifier open System Profiler in the Utilities folder. It's displayed in the panel on the right.
    Are my applications compatible?
See App Compatibility Table — RoaringApps.
    Upgrading to Lion
If your computer does not meet the requirements to install Mavericks, it may still meet the requirements to install Lion.
You can purchase Lion by contacting Customer Service: Contacting Apple for support and service - this includes international calling numbers. The cost is $19.99 (as it was before) plus tax.  It's a download. You will get an email containing a redemption code that you then use at the Mac App Store to download Lion. Save a copy of that installer to your Downloads folder because the installer deletes itself at the end of the installation.
         Lion System Requirements
           1. Mac computer with an Intel Core 2 Duo, Core i3, Core i5, Core i7,
               or Xeon processor
           2. 2GB of memory
           3. OS X v10.6.6 or later (v10.6.8 recommended)
           4. 7GB of available space
           5. Some features require an Apple ID; terms apply.
