Free Upgrade to LR6 within 30 Days of LR5 Purchase.........

I pruchased LR5 on the 3rd of this month.  Because the release of LR6 came within a month of my purchase (directly from the ADOBE website BTW so they have all the records), I'm due a free upgrade to the latest version.  I've been trying to get this upgrade for over a WEEK and a half now.  Bounced around from one person to the next, from one chat session to the next. I feel like I'm stuck In an MC Escher drawing going from one magical staircase to another... to another... to another.  And NONE OF THEM LEADING ANYWHERE!  Every ADOBE representative I've spoken with or "Chatted" with agrees I'm due the free upgrade yet NO ONE can seem to make it freakin' happen.
This is without a doubt, the most absurd and infuriating customer service expierence I've ever had.  ADOBE should be ashamed...
There has GOT to be an easier, better way.

See if this helps:
Do I qualify for a free upgrade?

  • HT201318 how do I cancel an upgrade for refund within 15 days?

How do I cancel an upgrade for refund within 15 days as stated in the purchase upgrade section?

    Hi there gayneln,
You may find the information in the article below helpful.
    iCloud: Cancel your storage upgrade
If you upgrade or renew your storage but no longer need it, you can cancel. If you cancel your storage plan within 15 days of an upgrade or within 45 days after a yearly payment, you can contact Apple for a full refund. After this period, you can downgrade your storage for the following year.

  • I have purchased a MacBook Pro with Retina display, but it will not arrive within 30 days of my purchase. Does this mean I will not be able to update the software to Mountain Lion?

As already stated, I have recently purchased a MacBook Pro with Retina display. It will arrive in 4-5 weeks so I don't assume it will arrive in less than 30 days. I would like to know wheather I will still be entitled to a free softwere update to the Mountain Lion. The laptop will ofcourse be completely new and recently purchased, so it would be very disappointing if I am not entitled to this update. Please let me know if you know anything about this or have any assuptions. Thank you

You can call apple if you need reassurance, but they will not turn you down on the free upgrade just because you have not received your computer by day 30.

Have been trying to cancel and refund my iCloud upgrade am going round in circles apple says you can cancel within 14 days but won't tell you how help!!

You can cancel an iCloud storage upgrade but only within 15 days of buying:
Apple seem to have made this as difficult as possible. You may be able to do this using http://expresslane.apple.com - Click on 'More products and services', then 'iCloud', 'Account and setup' then 'This topic is not listed'. Explain the situation in the box provided and wait for a response - include a phone number. However you may find you cannot proceed without entering a hardware serial number which is still eligible for AppleCare.
In that event you will need to phone them directly, using the Apple Online Store number given at the bottom of this page. The first person you speak to may tell you to do it from the iCloud website but this is not possible. Politely insist on escalating the issue to a more senior person and eventually you should be able to get through to someone who can deal with this (you may have to wait for them to call you back) - you will be asked security questions and for part of your credit card number to identify yourself.
If it is more than 15 days since you purchased the storage you cannot cancel it for a refund; you can downgrade your plan as from your next renewal date. Please see

  • Snow Leopard free upgrade

When I tried to get my free upgrade based on my purchase on July 29, 2009 I discovered that I should have sent in my request for the free upgrade within 90 days of the purchase. No one at the store advised me about this. If anyone else has not sent in their request they should do so before the 90 days runs out.

You haven't lost much. The up-to-date upgrade actually cost about $10, and the now available upgrade now costs $29.

  • No free upgrade for Logic 7 purchased 2 weeks ago (august 27)

I purchased Logic Express 7 on August 27 (16 days ago). I just contacted the apple store via online chat, and here is the transcript. I'm feeling seriously ripped off at the moment.
    * You are chatting with Caissa, an Apple Expert
Hi, my name is Caissa. Welcome to Apple!
    Caissa: Good evening
Caissa: How may I help you today?
    You: Hi.
You: I purchased Logic Express 7 on August 27, and Logic Express 8 just came out.
You: It would be most distressing if I don't get a free upgrade.
You: How do I get my upgrade to logic express 8?
Caissa: At this time there is no free upgrade available.
Caissa: You would need to purchase the new suite.
    You: That is terrible.
You: As a new apple user, I must register my deepest dissatisfaction.
    Caissa: Sorry to hear that.

Today I summoned the zen patience to call Apple and complain, and they did help me. I explained that not only had I bought LE7 since 8/1, I had also bought my first mac since 8/1. Although I had to wait on hold for 15 minutes for Applecare, and then get transferred to "customer care" (another 7 minutes on hold), they agreed to send me the upgrade for free. I didn't get a refund of the price difference (perhaps I should have asked; that was not offered). I'm prepared to write off the "overpayment", since I'm not being charged for the upgrade.
FYI, one thing that they seem to have taken seriously, besides the above -- I was experiencing frequent system hangs (screeen grays out a bit and says to hold down the power button a few seconds to kill the system). Apparently the stability problems I was having with LE7 are known to Apple. This angle might work for customers who bought long before the new release...
Thanks for the friendly suggestions. I hope this may help somebody else avoid feeling ripped off. The "stop whining" crowd, though that position is not entirely without merit, can still bite me ;-p

  • HT4431 I just updated from my lion 10.7.5 to maverick and was told that my iPhoto 8.1.2 would be a free upgrade to the new iPhoto version?? but I cannot find an update ??

I just updated from my lion 10.7.5 to maverick 10.9.1 and was told that my iPhoto 8.1.2 would be a free upgrade to the new iPhoto version?? but I cannot find an update ??

    Bad information
Updates from previous ov iPhoto '11 are free - upgrades from older versions like iPhoto '08 are purchases - you can run your current version under Mavericks if you do not wish to upgrade

  • Free upgrade from Lion (Thumb drive) to Mountain Lion?

I bought a Lion USB thumb drive on 12 June, not realising ML announced. Does Apple offer a free upgrade in this situation, equivalent to those who purchased a new non-ML computer from 11 June onwards? I can't see this situation mentioned anywhere.

The Mountain Lion up to date program only applies to hardware purchases.  Unfortunately, I don't think there is anything you can do in your situation.

  • Free upgrade for purchase within a few days?

    I came across this today.
    http://www.redmondpie.com/apple-slashes-price-of-macbook-pro-with-retina-display -updates-processors/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+ RedmondPie+%28Redmond+Pie%29
So if I purchased a Macbook 15" Retina Display a few days ago and Apple announces an upgrade, can I take my Macbook to the retail store and get a free upgrade too?

To go along with Clinton post if you just bought the system, AT the Regular Price, you have 14 days to return it for a Full Refund and then get the Newer Updated Version.
But there are No Upgrades that can be done to YOUR Current system. You have to Return it for Refund then But another one with the newer upgrades.
So As Usual the people at the Apple store, if that is where you called (A real Apple Store), have no Clue what they are talking about.
There are NO Upgradeable parts in a Retina Model Macbook Pro.

Who does one contact to obtain a refund within 15 days of upgrading storage to 10GB?

You can cancel iCloud storage upgrade within 15 days of buying:
Apple have made this as difficult as possible. If you use Express Lane you cannot proceed without entering a hardware serial number which is still eligible for AppleCare. However julia22 managed to find a way round it - please see this post:

it gives the USA number - if you don't live there you will have to find an equivalent number from the 'Contact Us' link at bottom right of this page.
