Free voice activation software

Does anyone know of any free voice activation software for iMac 2007 model?

Note, not that it makes a difference for this question, no 2007 iMac is PPC.  They are all Intel in 2007.  2006 was when the PPC to Intel shift happened.

Can anyone tell me if there is any compatible hands free voice activation software from a bluetooth for an iPhone 3G?

    Yacci,
The iPhone itself does not have this feature, but AT&T provides a service for it: http://www.wireless.att.com/learn/basics/choosing-features-services/voicedial.js p
This is something you can provide feedback to Apple for, as a feature request: http://www.apple.com/feedback
    Hope this helps,

  • Voice Activated Software

I am currently exploring the potential of allowing a user to access SAP and process various transactions through Voice Activated Software.
Has anyone had any experience of this or know of any solutions that are proven to integrate with SAP?

Does MacListen take over general control of the computer? I mean does it do commands such as "Switch to Firefox" and will it run application-specific applescripts?
How does MacListen compare with say Dragon Naturally Speaking, traditionally best in the field?
Is McListen any more reliable than the speech recognition software bundled with apple? Can it be trained so that when, for the tenth time I say "switch to firefox" and for the tenth time it switches to x-code, I can press a button saying "no you got it wrong", and when at last it gets it rigfht I can reward it by pressing an equivalent button?

  • Using voice activation commands for Illustrator

I was searching this forum to see if you can scroll (zoom) with the mouse wheel. I found a couple of short cuts that accomplishes the task (but not as easy as PS CS3 does).
In PS CS3, I created a whole bunch of Dragon Naturally Speaking commands which, in effect, allowed me to speak the various PS commands (as opposed to clicking, dragging etc) with eh mouse and Wacom Pen.
WITHOUT A DOUBT, this is the way to fly in PS. Speaking commands and having the program perform the function allows you to concentrate on the creation as opposed to what tool and when etc.
Just being able (using the scrolling wheel example), to say "zoom" or "zoom out" instead of looking for the zoom icon clicking it and then clicking the work area helps tremendously.
So, while looking for a way to Scroll in Illustrator, I got to thinking I will do the same thing for this application.
Therefore, I was wondering if anyone had done the same thing here in Illustrator.
I also posted this in the Windows forum.
    Anyway, just wondering.
    Bob

    Hi Jean,
first, I had to let you know, and I am by no means connected in any form shape or manner with Dragon Naturally Speaking software.
Second, I am actually dictating this message to you utilizing this voice activation software. I have been utilizing the Dragon for many years and this particular version happens to be one of the best that they have ever marketed.
To give you an idea of the different commands that I utilized when creating very simple voice commands in the Dragon, here are some of the commands I created:
Adjust color, adjust contrast, adjust curves, adjust hue saturation, adjust levels, auto color, (for the brushes if I wanted to increase them, bigger 1 bigger 2, bigger 5, bigger 7 (as you can see, it would increase the size of the brush dependent upon the number that followed the word bigger)), clone, copy, copy layer, crop, curves, cut, delete layer, deselect, duplicate layer, feather, erasure, eyedropper, etc., etc., etc)
Once again, I am dictating this message and not typing it.
Hopefully you can see we have a mouse in your hand, or a pen tablet and you are looking at the screen and reciting commands, and not having to look at the keyboard or the mouse or the walkom pen or what ever, and when you speak a command the application does exactly what you want, this allows you to concentrate on what you are trying to create as opposed to how to create it!
This is the major differentiator between working manually (and trust me the pros on this forum can work very very fast manually), and working allowing your creativity to come to the front as opposed to your technical specific knowledge of the application and how to maneuver it.
Anyway, I come out of many many years of information technology and this is probably one of the best combinations of applications that increases the efficiency of the individual working with said applications.
I probably should go back and correct any recognition errors that the Dragon might have made (which were probably made because of my poor pronunciation were slurring of words), but I would rather not.
It would be better for you to see (and I guess the other members of the form to see) the voice activation software can do for you.
In closing, and once again I have to stress I am in no way affiliated with the Dragon, combining these two applications increases your productivity tenfold.
Good luck, and I hope you shoulder feels better.
    Bob
ps., ok so i lied, I corrected 5 small errors the Dragon made.... but you would have understood what I was trying to say anyway....

  • Hands free voice calling?

Is there a hands free voice activation accessory so I can comply with the July California Hands Free Law?
Does it allow me to say Call Work" and dial my work number?

I came here to ask this exact question. It's bound to be the #1 question for the iPhone in CA around the time the law goes into effect. If Apple or someone else has not already thought of it they would have really dropped the ball. After all, Apple is headquartered in CA too!
BTW I use a small Motorola bluetooth hands free device that works great. I just need the voice dialing capability.

  • Voice activated/transcription software for MacBook Pro?

Can anyone recommend any voice activated and/or transcription software for my Mac Book Pro? I have interviews to do and transcribe!!
    Any help gratefully received....

Check http://www.roaringapps.com/ for alternatives, and Running Windows on a Mac, and Connecting it to Mac.
Note, you posted to the 10.3 forum, which does not run on the MacBook Pro.   Yosemite software is still beta, and 10.6 software on Roaringapps is not complete.  Go to Apple menu -> About this Mac to verify which operating system you have.

  • I need free network analyzer software for my mac. we are trying to monitor what software may be running which is causing our internet to fail, although the internet is still coming into our modem.what is recommended?

My internet keeps 'tripping' at or around the same period time each day.  We have already replaced our modem from our internet provider and we bought a new airport extreme router. We do not believe these were the cause, although we have now ruled them out as a cause.  Everytime the internet fails, our internet provider company tells us that there is still plenty of signal coming into our house. There is something going on inside we believe, and a technician set up our Network Utility to run a continuous ping test to capture information about when it 'trips' againn.  Yesterday, it happened again, and when he checked the data out, he said he is sure there is something 'running in the background' on my IMac.  He advised me to download a free Network Analyzer so he could further investigate what is was that was causing the problem, so I need a free network analyzer software for my Mac. The issue has been going on for a long time, so it is not the new operating system, Lion. This morning, we changed the radio channel from 'auto' to 'manual' and set a new channel, hoping that might help. We are trying to find out what program may be running (even a tiny one in the background) which is causing our internet to fail, although the internet is still coming into our modem. What is free downloadable product is recommended?

Will Activity Monitor and/or Network Utility, both already in the Utilities folder on your Mac, help in trying to diagnose the problem.
If you are connecting via wifi what encryption are you using? If you're using the Exteme I doubt that you are using WEP, but worth checking as it seems Macs don't like it and work better using WPA.

  • Making a call with voice activation

I have been using a Palm for 5 or 6 years that has allowed me to make calls by either naming the individual (voice command) or saying the numbers. It is invaluable (and much safer) while driving. Does either the iPhone or any Third Party software support this capability?

    Hello,
We can't even have the phone in our hands while driving in Québec. I currently have a Blackberry pearl and wanted to switch to the Iphone but without voice activation calls I won't... I only have to push on the main button on my bluetooth headset and tell my contact to have the call placed. Does this apps allow for some "automation" like when I get in the car I activate it and then I don't need to push any buttons on the phone ?
    Thanks

  • Free Screen Recording Software

I need a free screen recording software. Anyone know of any good ones?  I have been looking at CamStudio.org but I can't find anyone to really vouch for it yet and the download package is sketchy at best. It's a zip file with a single .exe so I tried unzipping it in a VM and it wouldn't uncompress fully (stops at like 93% and just holds) I've scanned it but I'm still sketchy.
Anyone have an alternative to that one, or can vouch for that one?

  • 6233 Voice activated calls

    Hi,
The voice activated function on the 6233 works quite well and recognises most of the names in my phone book. The system behaves inconsistently when a contact has more than one number linked to them.
For contacts with only one telephone number, the system dials their number within a second of me selecting their name entry.
However, for contacts with two or more numbers such as Mobile and Work, I choose the number to dial (after selecting the right contact) and have to wait for 6 seconds for the system to display the "calling...." screen. Is there a short cut? Why is there such a long delay for contacts with multiple phone entries?
I have version 4.91 of the software.
    Thanks
    David

Actually, the 6233 DOES have voice recognition. The phone will recognise the name you say and find the contact for you without you having to record voice tags. Just press and hold down "Names" and speak after the beep.

  • Nokia 7100 Voice activation

I have just bought the Nokia 7100 Supernova - I wanted to stay with Nokia because of the voice activation and having a hands free kit in the car. Firstly I can't figure out how to set up voice activation & secondly, although I have twinned the phone with my active device in the car & they look connected, when I try & make or receive a call nothing happens - usually the radio cuts out & the voice comes through the speakers & this isn't happening - help!!!!!

    1. In the standby mode, press and hold the right selection key or the volume down key.
A short tone sounds, and Speak now is displayed.
    2. Speak the name of the contact you want to dial. If the voice recognition is successful,
a list with matches is shown. The phone plays the voice command of the first match
on the list. If it is not the correct command, scroll to another entry.

  • IPhone - voice activation feature.

At Apple retail stores, none of the employees could tell me if voice activation dialing will be a feature of an upcoming iPhone model. Does anyone out there know?

Ahh, the fact of the matter is that most people are replacing their regular cell phone with an iphone. So WHY would this option not be a planned feature? It's more than a 'convienence', it's a down right safety hazzard!
I fully expect a $400 'phone'(or what ever you want to call it) to have this simple 'hands free' safety feature already working. With the added hazzard that this in NOT a tactile phone, you can't feel the buttons to dial, so you HAVE to look at it, WHAM your dead!
Of course the best way is to not call while driving, but really, if my previous $120 Motorola SLVR could do it how much more so should the $400+ iphone?

  • Can I use voice recognition software with Pages?

Can I use voice recognition software with Pages?

Apple provides Dictation services as part of OS X that must be enabled in System Preferences, and then activated while in the Pages document. Then you can speak and it will type what it thinks you said. It is learning software, and over time, better recognizes your voice pattern.
Then there is Dragon Naturally Speaking for nearly $200 USD.

  • Voice activated dialing

Just got my iphone which synchs nicely to my cars bluetooth. Is it possible to set up voice activation dialing to save you looking at phone to dial numbers
    thanks
    John

That is one of the only feature I missed from my Window Mobile phone (no boos ... I have drunk the Apple Kool Aid but was stuck with Verizon!). Unfortunately the iPhone does not support voice activated dialing. I did see an app called SpeechCloud Voice Dialer that is FREE but only gets 2.5 stars. I have not tried it yet.
The other program I miss is Windows Mobile Search. It had great directions and proximity search for anything ... movies, gas prices, etc. (again no boos). I haven't found one that does all of these things in one app.

  • Voice Activated Text

I just got my 8900 and I love it!!!  I have figured out just about everything, but have not figured out how to do the voice activated text yet.  Where to I go in the phone to get that going?

I believe you will need a third party application such vlingo for that.
I don;t think that function is in the native BlackBerry operating system.
