Freehand drawing

How do I change the weight and color in freehand?

After you've drawn the line and tapped "save" to save the shape, you will be sent back to the scrolling document view. You can now tap the freehand drawing to select it, and a context menu will pop up that includes options to change the line weight, color, and opacity.

  • HT5886 Switch Control "freehand drawing"?

"Use any of several methods to perform actions such as selecting, tapping, dragging, typing, and even freehand drawing."  How can switch controls be used for freehand drawing?

    Hi Hermant0010
We have seen this behaviour too and we are trying to track down what causes it to occur. (I manage a number of idevices for use with persons with tetraplegia - hence my keen interest in switch control)
What switch devices are you using? I see you have two switches attached?
Also you are using an iphone with iOS7. We have upgraded to 8.
I am not sure how we get this case out of the iPod section - maybe start a new one in an iOS stream?

  • Freehand drawing tool - how to exit

    Hi all, first post.
using the top menu for and selecting the icon for freehand, I see the cancel and save buttons on top, so it is obvious how to exit.
but I used the tap hold to get a pop-up menu which has "Note Text Freehand Signature" choices.
and once I got into the freehand drawing mode via the pop-up menu I cannot get out!
I cannot figure how to get out of drawing mode. everything I do just produces more lines or dots on the document, and I cannot stop quick cancel save or exit.
I tried all gestures I could think of, tap, hold, double tap, two fingers, nothing seems to work!
    what am I doing wrong?
I managed to get out by opening another docuemnt in Reader, then tap to get top bar, then "document" and got back to the original document by selecting it, but I dare not try the "drawing" pop-up again!!!
    this is on iPad 3

I also have an iPad 3.
When I bring up the contextual menu by clicking, and select "Freehand," I get the same Save and Cancel buttons on the top.
You might want to reset your copy of Adobe Reader by force quitting it. Normally, an app stays in memory even though you've moved to another app. To force quit it, try this:
Click the Home button to return to the main screen. Double-click the Home button to show the list recent apps. Click and hold down the icon of the Reader app. You'll see red "delete" buttons appear. Click the delete button, and the Reader app will disappear from the row of apps.
    Re-open Reader, and try again.

    ATR,
Did you watch the Adobe TV video tutorial that I post earlier on here
"Save Time with Powerful Background Rendering Using Media Encoder"?
Yes. I am familiar with that AdobeTV tutorial. Unfortunately, the term used, "render," is a holdover from After Effects. If you listen to the early part, and observe the choice to send the Timeline's Sequence(s) to AME, you will see that the choice is "Export." This "background rendering" is NOT the Rendering of the Timeline's Sequence(s) for smoothest playback (hitting the Enter/Return key). It is for Export/Publish+Share, or outputting a file from the Timeline's Sequence(s).
As I mentioned in my previous Reply, there ARE some additional benefits to using AME w/ MPE/CUDA with certain media, and Effects. Note the mention of the nVidia Quadro cards for maximum quality, with little slowdown, regardless of the pop-up warning.
Where AME comes into play, with PrPro, is that while it is outputting (Exporting/Publishing+Sharing) the file, PrPro is still active for additional editing. With an overnight output, there is no need to do other editing, as the computer is only involved in one operation - outputting the Timeline's Sequence(s).
Also, as noted in the tutorial, one can load AME's queue with the required Sequence(s), and then do multiple output files, to different formats/CODEC's, all in one operation. That is useful, where one needs to deliver several variations of the same Sequence - something that PrE cannot do - it's one format/setting, at a time.
Hope that this clarifies what AME is being used for, and what it's doing. The potential for confusion on "Rendering" vs "rendering" is obvious. As "Rendering" is a term used in Premiere (both Pro & Elements), for creating files (proxy files, if you will) for smoothest playback of a Timeline/Sequence, to use the term "rendering," from After Effects (and some other common NLE programs), is probably not the ultimate choice here.

  • Freehand drawing with curve support

    Hi there,
I have here a more complicated question. Maybe you can follow me.
Is there a way within PS to support freehand drawings. What I mean is a support in that way which makes hand drawed curves more smooth. You know what I mean. I think Marcomedias Flash does such things. Is this also in PS availible?

Not that I know of. Since PS does not draw Bezier curves, there is no way to smooth them. Any curvature in PS is merely a result of the stepping and accumulation while drawing the strokes. Maybe it does some smoothing on the fly under the hood, but not in the way you can in other Adobe apps.

  • Freehand drawing and lettering in CS2

Hi, I'm novice-to-intermediate in Illustrator and have CS2 on my Mac. Is there a tablet or system someone can recommend that's good for hand drawing and lettering in Illustrator? I'd like to be able to letter and makes shapes, plus create illustrations that I'd then add color to.

  • Suggestions for a stylus and drawing app

I want to do some simple freehand drawing on my iPad.  I know nothing about the technology involved, other than the fact that I know it can be done.
Stylus:  Can someone suggest a good stylus?  I've heard of styluses that will make a thin or thick line depending on how hard you press.
App:  Can someone suggest a good app?  For the moment, I'm considering doing only black and white, but I eventually might want to get into multi color.
Upload: Would I be able to transfer my stuff from the iPad to my iMac for printing or publishing to a web page?  I would want my drawing to appear at least as big as the original on the iPad, without having to expand it and have problems with pixellation.

The last thing you need is a script.
When you want to make your TOC, go to Pages, Numbering and Section Options, and put a section prefix in like 1- for each section (both 1 and 2 in your case). Click "Include Prefix When Numbering Pages".
    Then make your TOC.
It will have all the section prefixes. ("1-1", "2-2-4", examples)
Now just change the Numbering and Section Options BACK to your pre-TOC defaults. As long as  you don't update the TOC under Layout/Update TOC, your TOC text will contain the prefix, but your page numbers will look normal. If you have to change the text in the TOC for any reason, do it manually.
Let me know if that works.

  • How can I change the color and size of the freehand tool in Adobe Reader on the IPAD?

How can I change the size and color of the freehand tool in Adobe Reader for IPAD?

One more step I didn't mention. After making your freehand drawing, you need to click Save (upper right) to let Reader know you're finished drawing. Then click on it, and the contextual menu will look like this:

  • FreeHand 8 to pdf fill patterns

When I export a freehand drawing with colored fill patterns to pdf using export or distiller, it looks correct in Acrobat 8 professional and reader, but it doesn't print the fill patterns in color. They come out black & white. I don't wan to use a PS printer since most of the people I sned the pdfs to don't have postscript. This didn't happen with earlier versions of Acrobat. Any ideas to fix this problem?

    Lauren,
This is best asked in the Freehand forum (if you want help with your
export) or the Acrobat forum. This forum is for problems with using
Reader, not in creating pdf files. When you repost, describe your
workflow explicitly together with settings for pdf export or print
settings and Distiller settings. Posting a sample pdf and freehand file
to illustrate the problem would help as well.

  • Help drawing curved line - please!!!

Seriously, I can't find a tool to draw a curved line in PSE 6!  I was told to use the "pen tool" but I can't find it.  I was told to make the selection right clicming on Pencil and has no options other than for a freehand drawing with the mouse.  The "shapes" tool will only give me a straight line.  What the heck am I missing?
    Thanks!

The pen tool is only in Photoshop, not elements. You can draw freehand with the brush or pencil tools (you can  put something on a separate layer below and trace the edge if you need help), or you can draw a selection with the elliptical marquee tool, go to Edit>Stroke (outline) selection to color it, then erase the parts you don't want.
The custom shape tool draws many shapes. It sounds like you have the line tool selected. Hold down its icon in the toolbox and you'll see several other tools in there. The polygon tool with the rounded corners option turned on will draw circles, although it's not supposed to.
