Freesat & smart tv connection

Hi.
I have a new Panasonic Viera smart tv and a Humax 1000s, both linked to my BT home hub 3 via Ethernet cables. They both operate fine via the internet and I can see their mac addresses on the router info when I interrogate it - all ticketyboo.
I then downloaded the Panasinic Viera app onto my iPhone which wouldn't work for days, and has since worked only occasionally. The trouble being it doesn't recognise there is a Viera tv on the network.
Today I downloaded the Freesat app for similar control of the Humax box, and again the app on the phone doesn't know that the Humax exists.
The phone can be seen connected to the network at the same time as the 2 other devices.
Anybody know what's going on (or not going on)?
C

I bought a TP Link TL-WR2543ND. It is dual band but not simultaneous dual band.
I also have a Viera TV, plus a Sky Box, both internet connected, music streaming from my PC to TV and to digital radio by DLNA, music and video streaming from my Nokia smartphone, and more, all with few hitches in the five months or so that I've had it.
It cost me about £50 and I'm very happy with it.

  • Joining tables : Smart Access Connection

    Here's my scenario...
I have data from 1 system existing as standard HANA tables.
I have data from a second system, coming into HANA as a Smart Access Connection.
My task is to build queries against each system's tables to obtain relevant data from each system, and then a top level query to join system A data to system B data.
I'm from a SQL Server background, so my natural instinct is to NOT to join tables from linked servers directly to 'local' tables.
I would normally query the remote source, stage the required data into a local temporary table, and then join local-to-local.
However, I am unsure as to the best approach in this new world of HANA.
I did some reading here : SAP HANA Smart Data Access - Using the SAP HANA Database - SAP Library
"SAP HANA Smart Data Access optimizes execution of queries by moving processing as far as possible to the database connected via SAP HANA Smart Data Access. The SQL queries then work in SAP HANA on virtual tables. The SAP HANA Query Processor optimizes the queries and executes the relevant part in the connected database, returns the result to SAP HANA and completes the operation"
.. but this is still a bit vague to me, and I am not sure that it was intended to be read in relation to simply querying the remote connection in isolation, or in queries involving other sources as well.
Would anyone be able to clarify, or point me to better suited reading material ?
many thanks for any pointers on this ....

    Not possible within SQL Dev.
It pains me to suggest this.. but the simplest thing to do is to use an external table in Access to link to Oracle and make your joins in Access. I used to do it all the time and access is fairly good at only grabbing what is necessary from oracle. The only other product that comes to mind that does this type of operation is crystal reports.

  • Samsung smart tv connecting to the internet

I purchased a new UE65JS9000 65" Samsung 4k UHD Smart TV yesterday but cannot get it to connect to the wireless network. I get this message "Connected to your local network, but cannot connect to the Internet. Check the DNS settings in IP settings, or contact your Internet service provider to access the Internet." ...I have done all of these things but none of them have worked... I contacted Sky, who could not see any issues and confirmed that my Internet was 'strong', i.e. 18meg. I checked the IP settings and they seemed to be correct. To be sure, I also entered them manually by transferring the details from my working laptop - but noticed that the IP address was slightly different - tried both, still no joy. I've tried another device (laptop) in close proximity to the TV and the laptop worked. I've been all over the Internet and have tried everything including changing DNS settings to 8.8.8.8 to no avail. I tried a self diagnosis of smart hub connection and got this message "Your Internet Service Provider is blocking the following service. Please contact a Samsung Service Centre -ISP Blocking Service Error code:202". Is this a known issue with this model of Smart TV or is it an issue with the router settings? It is quite an old router since I've had my account with Sky for about 5 years. Ultimately, I'm desperate to find the solution? None of the other threads seem to relate to my issue but it seems loads of people are experiencing some sort of issue. It is not convenient for me to run a LAN cable from my router to the one connect box so I need wireless to work. I invested £3k in this TV and I'm hoping that it's just teething problems, that will be overshadowed by years of maximum enjoyment. So, what to do? Grateful for your help.

I rang Samsung on 03442 411653. The TV had out of date software on it. We connected via an extra long Ethernet cable I bought, changing the DNS setting to 8.8.8.8 and it worked, so downloaded the latest software version. Smart TV up and running!

  • Apple TV to smart TV connection

I've connected my LG wifi ready tv to my Apple TV via hdmi. ATV connects to Internet via wireless which is all I need really, so I'm bypassing all the smart tv features. However, There are couple of things that would be nice to access to on smart tv ((3d world), but my tv cannot connect to the Internet unless I get a dongle.
I know I could get a dlan plug and all that, but I'm wondering, can I connect the Tv to the ATV via Ethernet and somehow share the ATV connection so that also the tv can be connected too?
    Thanks!

no but if your tv have an ethernet port you can use an airport express or other hotspots to make it conenct to the same wifi network as the appletv connects to

  • My tablets and smart phones connect to the printer as if it was a router bypassing my router

    Deskjet 3520
What happens is when the wireless devices connect to the printer they are not connected to the internet. Unfortunately if I block the connection, I can no longer print wirelessly. I suspect that someone smarter than me can figure out a solution.
    Thanks

We usually print from the cloud because of our tablets an cell phones, but we can print through the network.
The printers are on the same home network.
My tablets and cell phones see the printer as a different wireless service (router) since the printer was in the same room as the router there were situations that the printer signal was slightly stronger than the router so they connected.
update: I moved the printer into another room some distance from the router and the problem is now solved, my tablets etc. no longer change from my router.
    Thank you,
    Larry

  • Accessing Netflix via Smart TV connected to FIOS

I have a Vizio Smart TV that has several built-in apps, including Netflix streaming video.  The Smart TV is connected to my WiFi in the house and I can access every app (e.g. YouTube, Facebook, Hulu, etc.) that needs Internet access through it except Netflix.  I can get to my Netflix account from my laptop, PC, iPad, iPhone through my WiFi, just not from the Smart TV.  Has anyone else experienced this and found a solution?  I have not yet contacted Verizon technical service; will be doing that soon.  Thanks for any insight others may have on this.  It's perplexing.

If every other computer on you network can access netflix and all othe apps on the TV are getting internet access, dont call verizon tech! Other than rebooting, resetting and reconnecting there isnt much else they will do. Start with Vizio. They will be able to Troubleshoot you TV.

  • Losing smart camera connection when using web server on NI1762 smart camera

    Hi
I am using 2 smart cameras ( old NI1762 and the new NI1772) with Vision builder 2011 .
I am trying to find a way to retrieve data and image to a Visual Basic 6 application. i could not find an elegant way to do it , so instead , i am sending TCP command to the smart camera as an input and the smart camera send me back a TCP command a as an output. by this way i could communicate with the smart camera . For transferring images I could not use the TCP step , so I turned on the smart camera web server to get the image by a browser Object . But the problem is that everything is going well with the TCP, but when I turned on the web server and try to communicate with it, sometimes I loose the connection with the smart camera. That is happened with the 1762 smart camera. But when I use the NI1772 it rarely happed.
Please help me. is there any other elegant way to communicate with the smart camera , and if a TCP and web server is a solution , Why the NI1762 web server is not stable ? Why i am losing the connection when browsing to the inspection page???
    Thanx

Previous versions of Vision Builder had a COM library that you could use from Visual Basic 6 or other environments and talk over the network to a Smart Camera running Vision Builder AI and control its execution just how you are requesting. In more recent versions, this has been replaced by a native .NET and LabVIEW-native API that is much more fully featured. Unfortunately, I do not think the older COM mechanism is still available/supported (but I certainly could be wrong...).
However, one avenue you may wish to persue would be to call into the .NET interface from Visual Basic 6. Microsoft designed .NET to allow COM interoperibility in both directions (.NET can call into COM libraries and COM libraries can call into .NET). Take a look at the following document from Microsoft:
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/zsfww439(v=vs.85).aspx
You could then look at any of the .NET (C#) examples to get an idea of the API:

  • Smart Plug Connection Issues when adding to your system.

I just got my new smart plugs in the mail, and there was an issue setting them up. The pairing was not happening. We tried for a good 20 mins following the instruction for pairing the devices. I got them to finally pair when instead of doing a 2-3 second button press i switched to a double tap quick press. The devices were dicovered right away. Looks like the instruction for the devices dont seem to match up with what the support is told to do to pair those smart plugs. I wanted to share so you guys could look into this as the rep that helped me today said these are always tricky for them to get connected.  Recap Doing 2-3 second delayed button presses did not work. Doing 2 quick presses of the button made the smart plug start clicking. I could hear it turning on and off.

I don't want to create another user in the business system for this purpose, does anybody

  • Smart TV connection problems

Just bought a samsung smart tv.....I followed the instructions to set it up using wireless connection to my bt infinity hub....It tells me I am connected to the network but not to the internet. When I look in device settings on my hub everything is ok apart for it shows the connection speed for the tv is only 1Mhbs, The Playstation on my wireless network shows 45, while both ethernet connected PC's show 100.
Has anyone here any experience with the samsung hub and getting it properly connected wirelessly to BT Infinity Hub....I am at a loss. Any advice much appreciated...this is driving me nuts...I only bought the tv for the internet connectivity option.

  • Smart View Connection Error

    Hello Experts,
1.I have uninstalled the SmartView application version 9.3.1.2 and then installed the latest version 9.3.1.5.
2.After this I tried to configure the connection to http://issdchypweb:80/HFMOfficeProvider/HFMOfficeProvider.aspx but noticed the XML error as XML Load Error:Invalid XML declaration.
3.I also installed the MSXML application as well and still encountered the same xml error.
4.After this the smartview ver. 9.3.1.5 is installed and checked on 3 other PCs and noticed the same error and finally had to rollback to ver. 9.3.1.2 of smartview.
5.After uninstalling the ver. 9.3.1.5 and reinstalling the ver. 9.3.1.2 of smartview application I was able to configure the connection without any issue.
Please let me know what is the exact problem.
    Thanks in Advance,

  • 7520 photo smart not connected after update

I have registered my printer on eprint web site and entered my printer code just fine, have an eprint address, I can sign into eprint and my e print name shows but after downloading the software update it now says not connected.
I still have a problem scrolling my printer Apps on the front of my printer, it shows my wireless connection but web services says cannot connect to web services, enter a proxy server address, my server does not use a proxy server.
How can I correct this please.

Finally found out why I am having all the problems, HP called me on Tuesday and told me that the first update that downloaded to fix the problems made things worse and they are working on another fix to download
and update to correct all the problems we are all having with this printer.
They are going to call me back on the 27th to let me know how far along they are with the fix , until then we are all stuck with these problems so we are all just wasting our time trying to fix something that is out of our control.

  • Smart View 11.1.1.2 Data Connection Manager empty

    Hi all,
we recently trialled Smart View 11.1.2.1 with APS 11.1.1.2, only to find that combination is not compaitble.
However when we now go into the Smart View Connection Manager, and select the "All" view, nothing is listed ( i'd normally expect the Essbase Server listed ), however if the user has favourites, they are listed and work OK. Existing sheets also work OK.
I have the URL for the datasources as:
    http://{server}:13080/aps/SmartView
If I browse to that URL with IE I get the confirmation page to say APS is running OK.
If I look at the apsserver.log file I see the error:
com.essbase.api.base.EssException: Common Provider null datasource error
Can anyone advise on how I can reset this?
    Thanks

you will most likely have to use the dropdown and add the server into the shared connections. Once done, it should be there for all users. It is best to add it usiing an ID with Admin access. I think there is a bug that would allow anyone to do it, but I'm not sure what version that was
