FREETALK conference HD camera for Panasonic TVs

would the FREETALK conference HD camera for Panasonic TVs would work with my Panasonic Blu-Ray with Skype built-in?

I would not recommend as I purchased the Panasonic BDT110 blu ray player and freetalk conference webcam combo from the Skype shop and the video does not work on the webcam. I have received zero technical support from either the freetalk manufacturer and was instructed by Panasonic to buy their TY-CC10W webcam.

    Sale: $129.99
Per the advice of Chad at Best Buy (Maine Mall, South Portland, Maine) I bought a Freetalk Conference HD Camera for my P Panasonic Plasma/3D TV (TC-P50ST30) to use with Skype.  There are two problems:  1) no video output.  As I began to research this problem this is a KNOWN issue - even at the Tech level at Best Buy.  Apparently they don't pass this information along to the sales force.    Problem #2: audio output only through the TV speakers, not the home theatre system.
As to issue #1 - Freetalk support suggested that I update the firmware.  Great idea, except they assumed that I would update through a PC.  I have a Mac.  No response to date on how to update the firmware via a Mac.
Issue #2 - anyone have any ideas?
I wouldn't recommend this webcam to anyone, not even my worst enemy.  I have paid $130 and spent hours trying to get it to work,  I can return it to Best Buy but they have no other webcam for use with a TV that they sell (how does THAT work?)  Any suggestions for an alternate product?

#1 - Best bet is to find a friend with a PC that will help you out.
#2 - Look in the manual for your TV on how to use the ARC (Audio Return Channel) HDMI port with your reciever.

    Click on "Update your firmware"
    Step 4
Save the Binary File onto your desktop
    Step 5
Plug the Camera into the Windows PC’s using any available USB port
    Step 6
Click to open the Binary File you had saved
A pop-up/ dialog box will open on your screen “Freetalk Conference Firmware Update” – ensure that your pop-up blocker is off
    Step 7
    Click “Update Firmware” button
(When the Firmware update is successful, the text “Reload Complete” will appear in the white box at the bottom of the dialog box. The firmware update process is now complete)

  • Freetalk HD camera for Sharp 830E

    Hi,
I've just bought  Freetalk Conference HD camera (at In Store Shop) dedicated for Sharp TVs. I uploaded the newest TV software for Skype connections and ...voice connection work perfect, but unfortunately I can't use video mode. I can see " camera off" on the TV screen. The blue lamp on the camera is on, which means the camera is ready to work.
In addition camera serial # in recognized and shown in skype settings. Does anybody can help me to solve this problem? Thanks

I am having the same exact issue with a Freetalk HD webcam that is suppose to be compatable with my Panasonic Blu Ray player. The Freetalk, Panasonic, and Skype technical support teams all have punted on the issue so hopefully someone will step up and figure this out.

  • Freetalk Conference for Panasonic TV's

Just under a week ago I bought the Freetalk Conference device for my Panasonic TV.  I have received the item today via Instore Shop, It does not work with my TV despite it being sold as doing.  I am struggling to find out who I need to speak to resolve this and get the item sent back for a refund.
Can someone please help as the after sale support and service from Skype seems non-existant?
    Regards

Having the same issue with a Panasonic Blu Ray player and Freetalk webcam purchased on through the Skype Shop, via a third pary that distributes the freetalk webcam. Panasonic technical support told me that they do not provide support for webcams and recommended using the Panasonic branded webcam. The freetalk customer support has be nonresponsive to this issue. I believe that there is an issue with the compatibility of the freetalk and Panasonic products, however no  one is willing to fix this issue and Skype continues to market these products as compatable. Frustrated as well!

which cable do I need to connect my Mac Book Pro to my Panasonic PV-GS150 video camera for transferring video to iMovie?

    I totally understand.
Check some things from here, I have 2 and they have been great so far.
Check here, lots of storage and reasonable prices. Also great support, you get to speak to a person
Clean off your on the G5 drive and off you go.
I suggest buying a second drive and setting it up for a back up, Time Machine or Carbon Copy Cloner, or SuperDuper (both "bootable" back up) All searchable on the web.

You can talk to a person for REAL advice, Phone: 800.275.4576  Ask about exporting to your G5 and and exporting to your existing OSX, you may only need a small inexpensive drive for this.
Quick delivery and willing to help.
Hope this makes you back up and running :-)
Do get a back up drive, as it is not ""whether my drive will fail, as much as "when my drive fails"

  • No camera profiles in development module for Panasonic GH4 rw2 files, imported in Lightroom 5.6.

No camera profiles in development module for Panasonic GH4 rw2 files, imported in Lightroom 5.6.
Only the "Adobe Standard" is shown. In metadata I can see that the camera and lense were recognized correctly. What could be the reason?

The sample GH4 raw file I found on PhotographyBlog does have a lens profile that the Adobe applies automatically without having lens profiles being enabled.  This is indicated in Photoshop CC / ACR 8.x so perhaps LR 6 will give us the same indication:
By comparison, here is what the uncorrected raw file looks like in a raw converter that doesn't do lens corrections:

  • Which Camera for a Panasonic TCP55VT30

Our son has been deployed, and we'd sure like to see him once in a whileover the next year.  So we got a TV TC-P55VT30, primarily becuase it has Skype available through the Vieracast.  I set up an account here at Skype, but am confused about which camera (if any) will work with this TV.  The previous model Panasonic sold and that was specified as being compatible, is now discountinued. I'm wondering if any one has managed to get the new model functioning.  I see only messages about them not working, and the compatible TV's list doesn't list the TV we own as being compatible.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks!!

The "Logitech TV Cam for Skype" shows your TV as a supported model.
    http://www.logitech.com/en-us/webcam-communications/webcams/devices/tvcam-skype
You can shop around for it and find it cheaper. I have one and it works well. Quality is, as always, greatly dependent on the speed of the connection at both ends.

  • Readability of camera raw files for Panasonic Lumix Gh2

I have successfully updated my Adobe DNG software with version 6.3.0.79, however my Lightroom 2 and CS 4 (which are both also up to date) still do not recognize these files. Is there anything else I need to do?

    Thanks David for your interest.
I am starting to think there are a few problems.
As for the 6.0+ DNG converter:
It only converted about a dozen out of 653 files the first time
through. When I reran the 653 raw images through Lightroom 3 (where I
can see, and adjust, ALL of the files just fine), all but 23
converted--evidently those are .spd or .spi files whatever that means
(this is a new camera for me so I may have had those on an odd setting).
These files will not open in CS4 using the usual Lightroom3's 'Photo'
drop down "Edit in Adobe Photoshop CS4." However if I save them as
a .tif, I can open them. I will try to send a screen shot of that
message, but it has a PSCS4 blue box logo and says: "Could not
complete your request because Photoshop does not recognize this type
of file." (and the file in Lightroom3 is a .dng at this point). So I
think that PhotoshopCS4 does not have the latest DNG converter within
in, and I cannot find a way to update that. I tried under Preferences
and everywhere else I could think of, but can't figure it out. (When I
checked it says my version of CS4 has Adobe Photoshop CameraRaw 5.0).
I will send a couple of the failed files in my next email. I'm on a
    different computer right now.

  • Has anyone successfully connected an AEBS to the new Panasonic TVs with built-in WiFi?  If so, please describe the requirements and process.  Thanks.

Has anyone successfully connected an AEBS to the new Panasonic TVs with built-in WiFi?  If so, please describe the requirements and process.  (TV subscription is through DirecTV and ISP is TWC.)  Thanks.

If you wish to use the cellular capabilities of a device, you will need a SIM (unless the carrier uses CDMA which doesn't use SIMs) and you will have to pay a cell carrier. No cell company provides service for free. The only way you will get free Internet is via WiFi to a free and open WiFi access point, as sometimes is offered in public buildings or by some businesses.

  • Need Camera for Boardroom

Does anyone have a suggestion for setting up a stand-alone or wireless camera in a large conference room? Is there a stand-alone client that will automagically connect to iChat Server? Maybe a wireless camera for a Mac Pro that will reach 40 feet? Or, maybe some way to get a iSight Camera (I'm sure I can find out) to reach the distance?
We have a Mac Pro tucked away in a closet at one end of the room and a large screen at the other end of the room 40 feet away. We need a way for the folks in the conference room to look at the screen, to see the other participants, and looking towards the camera at the same time.
Thank you, in advance, for taking the time to offer your input.

I know you’re looking for a camera (and I can’t help you much there, I just mounted a standard DV camera in our meeting room up high and use a wireless remote that came with the mount to adjust [custom install].
You’ll need a nice audio setup as well. I have had a great experience with:
    http://www.yamaha.com/yec/products/productdetail.html?CNTID=546140&CTID=5040786
It works great on our mac conferencing system and tracks well even in the areas it doesn’t list as viable locations for conference participants. We even daisy chain them for our really large seminars. It has audio out too so you can use just the mic portion and output to a smart room setup or use the built-in speaker . mic combo (the speakers are actually quite good as well).

  • Best camera for compositing

I don't know if that's the best place to ask this but anyway ... I'm considering buying a HD camera for some short-movies and other minor projects but since I'm also interested in studying Shake, I'd like to know which specification I should take a closer look at for maximum results when doing compositing/etc ? Or in other words which of these specs are more important for compositing work ?
Color spacing ? (DVCPRO HD's 4:2:2 vs HDV's 4:2:0) ? High resolution (XLH-1 and JVC HD100's high res vs HVX200's lower res) ? Sharpness ? Progressive chip ? And how do you compare (for compositing purposes only) these flavors of HD with Super 16mm shot on a pin-registered camera using a sharp lens and Spirit datacine ?
(I mentioned these codecs before but my idea is to move to uncompressed for this kind of work)
    Appreciate any help.

I would guess that most of our elitists (humor here :)) would say that mini-DV is crap and HDV is just a larger form of said crap due to the high compression needed to get all that HDV data onto a mini-DV tape.
Having said that, I soley use an HDV cam (Sony HVR-A1U). I always shoot HDV and in cam downconvert when capturing into FCP.
If I had had the money and transport (inconspicuous travel) wasn't my thing, I would have gone with that Panasonic P2 one (can't remember the name) or another true HD cam.
But, I'm extremely happy with my choice. When the money is there I'll add the HD cam and use my A1 as a second an my travel cam.
