  • Using My N73's Bluetooth connection as adapter for...

    Hey guys,
This is not a question that can be put into one sentence...
I shall put it as short and descriptive as possible.
I can connect my laptop to the internet using the Built-in Modem I have in my laptop (Dial-Up).
My brothers laptop is new, He does not have a Modem built in and I do not have any other hardware here.
I was thinking, Is it possible to Have the following setup
Dial-Up -> Laptops Modem -> N73's Bluetooth connection -> Brothers Bluetooth connection (on his laptop) -> Internet.
So actualy making a Networking Bridge from My Laptops Modem to the Bluetooth of my N73.
(I could maybe buy a Lan Cable somewhere here and make a Networking Bridge between the Modem and the Lan port, but only if this is not possible whatsoever.)
    Thanks In Advance...

This has been a while, and I am back home now.
What I ment is what I said, I never mentioned my laptop having a Bluetooth connection nor using my telephone as a modem. I said that I wanted to use my Laptop as Modem and my brothers laptop as the client connection through bluetooth to my telephone wich in his way would be just a bluetooth adapter for my laptop. Now I figured that out myself and I had Dial-Up Internet on both laptops.
Since It worked I am going to ask another question hoping that you guys will just say I don't know instead of It's not possible.
How do I configure my N73 to become my laptops Bluetooth Adapter so I can connect any bluetooth device to my laptop.
(saves me 20 euros, but that is not the point)

  • Freetalk Connect•Me adapter

    Hi,
I'm interested in how the adapter works. I tried looking for reviews and setup guides to no avail.
From my understanding, the adapter gives a regular phone the ability to be used on Skype. However I have a few questions regarding the adapter.
    1. If you're only using a phone with a regular adapter, how do you dial your Skype contacts?
    2. Will I still be able to connect my phone to a regular landline along with the adapter?
    Solved!

I am looking into skype as my home phone.
1.) Does your home computer have to be on all the time if you utilize this adapter?
2.) If I understand, a normal home phone will work with this adapter?
    Thanks,
    Dan

  • The FREETALK Connect•Me Home Phone Adapter for Sky...

    Hi all,
I am seriously considering dropping my landline since I mostly if not only uses my iPhone as my primary device for calls. The problem I have is an alarm system is connected to my land line and requires a way to call the alarm centre in case of an emergency.
I talk to my alarm service provider for an alternative. They already have the cellular option, but it adds $12/m which is not a big saving... They are working on finding an IP/Internet solution, but it will be also a $4/m.
I was wondering if I could use the FREETALK Connect•Me Home Phone Adapter for Skype as a solution. From a computer I can call any 1-800 numbers for free, and I really suspect that the alarm centre is a toll free number too. So in theory it could work.
Can anyone share their experience with the device and suggest if my solution can work or not?
    Thanks

I use that adapter in my house, it works just as a normal landline would.  There is a slightly longer predial delay when initiating a call (approx 3 second Skype dialing noise), beyond that no real difference.  If the box doesn't lock up, or your Internet doesn't go down it should be rather reliable as a replacement.  Those are worst-case scenarios and I generally don't find myself having to do anything to maintain it.  In any case I have it connected to a power surge strip like I do the rest of my equipment.  Should I need to reset it, I just toggle the switch.

  • Adapter for usb 2.0 to Firewire or thunderbolt

I have an iMac with USB 2.0 Firewire 800 and Thunderbolt.
I bought a Seagate External Drive with USB 3.0. On the BOX of the Hard Drive it says can upgrade speed transfer by connecting an adapter for firewire or thunderbolt (not included).
I was told there was an adapter that I can purchase to insert on to the end of the USB 2.0 cable of the hard drive so that I can plug it into my firewire slot or thunderbolt slot. I hope this makes sense as my google search comes up saying it's impossible to do. Why offer this on the box if there is no such adapter?
It's currently plugged into my USB 2.0 slot but would like faster transfer speed as I access this drive continuosly.

Awesome, ok now we're getting somewhere.... the link you provided shows what I actually have right now. As far as the connection of the USB 3.0. I think what I need is the a base for a Firewire cable or Thunderbolt and NOT for a USB 3.0. I wonder if they have those types of bases to swap out on the external drive?
I'll have a look at my Hard Drive and check it out. Perhaps I read the box wrong too because it shows pictures of cables... not bases for the EHD
Also not sure if they will ship this to an Australian address as I live in Australia.

  • FREETALK Connect-Me phone adapter discontinued

I noticed today that the FREETALK Connect-Me phone adapter has been discontinued. Is there a replacement solution? My device has been working great for several years and I use it all the time for connecting my home phones to skype.

That's always a possibility.  However I'm not aware of it being discontinued by the manufacturer.  You can generally buy it from the Freetalk site (http://freetalk.me/). Occasionally I've seen it disappear from the site (like now) when they are out of stock, then reappear again.  It's also available on Amazon and Ebay.
Some people have used the Soundwin SP110, but there have been a lot of stability/quality issues with that device.  http://www.soundwin.com/style/frame/templates3a/product_detail.asp?lang=2&customer_id=824&name_id=40...

  • Use FreeTalk for Skype for Business usage?

I have two business phones and do not really need another, but would like to do skype calling from my phones as I have complaints from people I call using the computer and hope useing a phone would correct some of the problems. Please someone reply. Thanks!

    Hi cathystanton55,
As we mentioned in our reply to your previous post, the FREETALK® Connect•Me was designed to accomodate a single home phone and a landline if available and was not designed for business phones like the Aastra.
Fore more scalable solutions when using multiple lines please check out our other product FREETALK ® Connect•All, link: freetalkconnect.com/all/
Connect•All is designed to work with standard SIP phones. Phones from Aastra, Linksys, Polycom and Snom have the advantage of being provisioned automatically with the Connect All system so there is no need for you to do anything but plug them in. You may use other standard SIP phones but you will need to be able to perform some basic provisioning tasks.

  • An adapter for connecting a 2.5 GHz dual-core Mac Mini to a VGA CRT monitor?

This question concerns the 2.5 GHz dual-core Mac Mini from Mid 2011 (Intel Core i5-2520M) (Macmini5,2).  Is there an adapter for connecting it to a VGA CRT monitor?

    store.apple.com/us/product/MB572Z/A
Thunderbolt port is physically identical the miniDisplay port and can pass video for a monitor.

  • Does anyone know if there is an adapter for the new nano iPod to connect to a FS-2 iPort?

Does anyone know if there is an adapter for the new nano iPod to connect to a FS-2 iPort?

IIRC the very original Bose Dock had the old 30 pin wiring and was designed initially for the iPod
If you have that version then you will need a converter to the later wiring ( sans firewire) as in Scosche .
and then the 30 pin to lightning Apple adapter
In theory it should work but who knows.
If you have a later one which already works with current devices then just the lightning adapter
It is important to get the genuine Apple adapter I have several and all work fine in several scenarios
Avoid the eBay knock offs most only charge

  • JMS Adapter (for DI) does not allow passing username and password to JMS connection

    Post Author: PLed76
    CA Forum: Data Integration
JMS Adapter (for DI) does not allow passing username and password to JMS connection. It has those fields only for MSMQ. Our Production environment does not allow us to connect to JMS (we use Tibco EMS) anonymously, so it prevents us from use of Data Integrator. Is there any way to pass those params, or obtain the correct version of JMS Adapter, or obtain source codes of the JMS Adapter so we can correct them ourselves (we can send you the corrected sources back) ? Thanks in advance for any help. (PL)ed76 Renaissance Capital

Has anyone found a way to connect to Tibco with a user/pwd?

  • Ringer equivalence number for Freetalk Connect Me ...

    Hi,
I have an old Western Electric 2500 touch tone phone that i want to use with Skype. I am hoping it will work with the Freetalk Connect Me device. I have tried with with the Sprint Home Connect 2 device on Ting and everything worked except the phone did not ring on incoming calls. I believe this is related to something called the Ringer Equivalence Number, which represents the amount of electrical load on the telephone ringer line.
My question is: does the Freetalk Connect Me device have enough REN to ring my old Western Electric 2500 phone? It needs at least 1 REN to ring, but apparently most VOIP adapters generate little to no electrical load on the ringer.
    Thanks!

I own a Free Talk Connect Me, but I don't have one of those old phones lying around.  I do have several electric ringer phones, one being a non-powered one.  My Connect Me device is listed as 0.0B REN.  The problem with that value is that refers to the REN load and does not seem to me to reference it's own ringer or REN "supply".   I connected all the phones I had in my house and they all still successfully rang.  The non-powered phone "claimed" to have a REN of 1.3.  I believe the phone you have tends to generate a variable load of 1-1.5 REN. The default the phone company supplies is 5 REN.  From checking similar devices, I believe the supply is more than lilkly around 2-3 REN.  I read a test someone did to measure the current during a ring on a classic phone and it averaged at around 8 mA (A/C).  The cominbed current in my tests of the RX line in series never exceeded 5 mA (2-5 range).  So even if it can't be used as a direct comparison, current is flowing and adjusts depending on the load introduced into the system.  There are other variables that can affect the ringing, so it's hard to say what a device like his may be lacking (waveform issues, frequency response (which should be better since it's a class B device, and continous voltage (60-90 A/C EU/US standards).  If you find VOIP devices to be intermttent in ringing a device with a high load, the only alernative I can think of (besides using a different phone) is implementing the use of a REN booster to see if it solves your problem.  With that in-line you may be able to drive several of those type phones.
If you want a more definitve answer you might want to contact Free Talk directly to see if they have a better spec sheet/white paper that answers your question.  I can only provide you with my best educated guess.

Restore the phone using iTunes. First time restore your backup. If the problem is not fixed restore again, and this time set up as New.
