FreeTalk Talk-1200: Speed Dial entry for a Skype ...

Problem-1:
I ordered Skype phone adapter Talk-1200 for Canada, but it arrived with configuration settings for UK and I cannot change the  area code and time zone to any other country/region. I want to change locality to Canada/US and/or Russia.
Problem-2:
I am not able to create Speed Dial entries for my Skype address-book entries in Cyrillic (i.e. for my friends in Russia). Address-book entries in Cyrillic are not properly recognized by the  phone adapter software.
Is there any way to directly create a new Speed Dial entry by directly putting Skype IDs of my friends? I mean - without importing them from the Address-book entries in Cyrillic.

1.  Skype doesn't make the Freetalk device.  Freetalk does.  I own several units mainly due to it's high failure rate over time.  The country selection requires the latest firmware which will generally already be installed on the unit if it's been on for a while.  The last I checked that was SOFTWARE VERSION: 1.0.9.1  I'm not too sure since my newest box died recently around a year and I'm back to the only unit I own that refuses to upgrade it's firmware, yet it has magically outlived all the other units.  In order to get the country selection you will need to factory reload the unit.  I believe US/Canada or UK are the only options but you can see what options are available to you when you reload the unit.
2.  Speed dials are a legacy feature in Skype.  Skype's client software hasn't offered that capability for some time now.  The Freetalk does use that legacy feature and it's limited to working with Skype accounts.  I observed it will not work with Microsoft accounts just as you observed issues with Cyrillic names.  It may be possible for contacts to be called if there is a Skype account linked to the Microsoft account or if the TV/Phone account is enabled for the Microsoft account allowing a separate Skype name that a person can be reached on.
Any updates to address these issues would have to be supplied by Freetalk.

  • Directory for Speed Dial entries

Entered 20 speed dial numbers.  Where do I find the directory for those entered.
With 100 possibilities surely there must be a way.

I have not heard of a way to view the list. I poured over different support documents and found nothing addressing that either. Just how to create entries and how to dial using it. This is a great suggestion though! This would be a perfect candidate for the Verizon Idea Exchange. Please search on the idea exchange and cast your vote. • How do you unlock a SPEED DIAL entry

Speed Dial 1 is for my voicemail, but I need to change the information and it won't let me do it.  There is a "lock" icon to the right of the entry.

This doesn't work.  Using the enter or ok buttons only dials the number.  And if I try the Menu key there is no option to edit or delete the entry like other speed dial entrys.  The #1 entry is locked.
    Correct.

  • Hi, is there any speed dial extension for Firefox Mobile? I really miss it since I moved from Dolphin Mini...

I need an extension that could be able to show a speed dial page at every boot of FF mobile :)

This add-on will add a list of favorite sites to your start page: https://addons.mozilla.org/mobile/addon/start-page-plus/

  • Can I have a "Speed Dial" or "Fast Dial" as my home page for Safari?

Is there anyway to do this?
I would really like to be able to have Safari set up with some type of Speed dial.
For those of you who dont know, its basically a home page with about 9 different thumbnails that are constantly logged into their own sites.
    Its very quick and efficient.

I think he's talking about something like the Fast Dial extension for Firefox (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/5721) but for safari. I use it on firefox and would like to see it on Safari too

  • Pre-programmed Speed Dial

Does anyone know how to delete the pre-prgrammed speed dial entries in the Tour.  That would be speed dial letters A, Q and W?

    Check this thread
    http://supportforums.blackberry.com/rim/board/message?board.id=9630&message.id=2118&query.id=2333197...
    Here is the summary
    Press Green Call Send button
    Press BBerry Menu Key
Go to View Speed Dial List
Press the letter entry you want to change (A, Q, or W )
    Press the Enter button
You'll now be able to select a new contact for that location from the contact list that comes up.

  • BUG: Speed Dials not functioning correctly when Option button is last used

There is a bug in WebOS where Speed Dials do not work correctly.  Holding down your speed dial favorites button will not place the call. This happens when the option key is used in launcher or card view before attempting speed dial.
For instance if your last character of a search you did 4 hours ago on your phone contained a series of numbers and you locked the option key to do so, (or even if you accidently hit the option key last and then did not need it) then an attempt to use speed dial "G" will not work, as your Pre/Pixi thinks you are holding down the "6" key and not the "G" key.
This needs to be remedied (for instance have the option key press clear out or unlocked as soon as the search is performed or cleared off of the phone) because there is no way to tell what state the option key is in before using a speed dial (not that I want to check and fiddle with it anyway).

The Z and B keys are the * and # keys. That is why they are not in the speed dial list. Hmmm... while it might be a "bug" at this time your the only person having this issue as far as I can tell. Since the issue moved to another phone it could be that  its related to your Palm Profile. I unfortunately cannot replicate this issue but would like to test something. Can you do a Partial erase on your device and create a new Palm profile? This will see if the issue is still on the device.
If it is not then the issue is within your Palm Profile. If that is the case I can help you from there. Please post back when you tried this step.

  • Speed dials on 500S buttons?

Having discovered the "dialable intercom" feature, I now have quite a few extra buttons on the 500S sidecars.
Is there a way to assign speed dials to these buttons?  I'm trying to think of a way to increase utility and I have about 20 buttons free, so speed dials may be a handy way.  This particular office dials a lot of corporate numbers from each of their phones a lot (calling trucking companies and storage companies).

    Hello John,
Yes there is by using CCA 3.2. In each of the user's extension, there is a tab labeled Speed Dial. For the SPA 500 phone with the 500S, you will see the buttons to include not only the SPA500, but also the side cart. Below is the screen shot.
    Hope this helps.

  • My speed dial thumbnails are blurry

I have two screens open. One is the latest version of Opera and the other is Aurora (I'm on an imac with Mavericks). The speed dial thumbnails for Aurora are noticeably more blurry than those on Opera. Is there a way to make them sharper?
    thanks for any help,
    jeff

Are these the thumbnails that Firefox creates and displays on the "new tab" page, or thumbnails captured and displayed by an add-on? If it's an add-on, which one is it?

  • Tweak the default Firefox tile(New Tab) to make it like Speed Dial.

Is it possible to tweak the default Firefox tile(new Tab) to make it like Speed Dial?
For example, add google.com to the first tile, firefox.org on the second,etc...
It is possible to do it without downloading add-ons?
    Thanks.

    That is how it works.
    You can try this extension:
    *New Tab Tools: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/new-tab-tools/

  • Speed dialing - how do you set it up?

    Hi,
How do you set up the speed dial buttons for frequently used numbers?
The Answerphone is set, can't seem to find a way to set the other buttons!
    Any ideas anybody?
    Thanks...

    Hi Archiver,
Welcome to the community! Since you're new please be sure that you have checked out our Discussion guidelines.
You can also add contacts to the homescreen for faster calling to specific contacts.
    1. Tap and hold finger on Homescreen
    2. Tap Apps
    3. Tap Shortcuts
    4. Tap Direct Dial
    5. Choose contact
Once chosen the contact will be added to the Homescreen and can simply be pressed to make a call.
    i hope this helps.

  • Linking Abbreviated Dial Entries to Multiple devices

If I create Abbreviated Dial entries for my desktop 7940 phone is there are way they can also be used with my IP Communicator without recreating them for that device. In other words can you synch these entries between devices?
    Thanks!

Nope, I don't think there is a way by which the Abbreviated Dial entries can be used with my IP Communicator without recreating them for that devices

  • FVD Speed Dial will not install. Msg says it is not compatible with v.28

    Using droid v.4.2. Quad Core.

Yes I understand you were trying to install this Extension on Android Firefox.
A search on the Android section of a.m.o does not list anything FVD Speed Dial except for one old extension.
    *https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/android/search/?q=speed+dial&appver=&platform==
The FVD Speed Dial extension I listed earlier will not work on Android version. Is there another place you were trying to install a extension from?.

  • Skype to go speed dial contacts

Hi, can someone please tell me how to change my speed dial contacts on my skype to go number. Also, how many speed dial contacts can I have? thank you

When you change your direct dial numbers, your speed dial numbers will automatically adjust accordingly. To see your speed dials, click on "View old number" in the bottom right of the Skype To Go account overview page.

  • Freetalk-1200 Connect.Me speed dial problem

Just received my long awaited Connect.Me and it's been working just as I expected. The only problem I encountered was that I couldn't assing speed dial numbers to 2 of my contacts. Others work perfectly, when I click them, box of information appears to the middle of the screen, but when I click one of the two with the problem, nothing happens.
I have tried everything like resetting from the button and from the web UI, deleting and adding them again to my contacts but nothing helps. Adding new contacts works fine. I would not rather create a new Skype account for my self - nor ask these two friends to make a new account for themselves - just because of this problem. Any kind of advice is welcome
    Cheers from Finland!

Skype hasn't supported speed dials in it's software for some time.  It's considered a legacy feature. The use of speed dials is configured through the Freetalk Connect Me web interface, not the Skype client.  You need to sign into your Connect Me device via your web browser and click on "Contacts and Speed Dials".  Once there all your contacts will be listed on the left pane.  Select any one of those contacts and click "ADD TO SPEED DIAL".  It will assign a speed dial number incrementally on the right pane.  You can change that number to a number of your choosing (0-99) at any time.  That's all it takes to set up.  If you recently add a contact it my not show on that list.  If it doesn't sign off the client in which you added the contact or contact changes, then power cycle the Connect Me box and log back in.  It should update.  If it does not, the only other alternative is to do a factory reset on the unit so that it will purge the list and updated it with the latest copy.  Below I attached an image of the screen, though it may take some time until it gets approved and displayed to the general public.
