Freeview/top up tv bt sports

will  you be offering bt sports on top up tv,there is lot of people wanting it on the service and they have strong market being on freeview offering boxes and cam plus they have offered over the years all the sports channels.

Hi.
I have the black Vision+ box.  I had the original white/silver vision box when BT first started doing broadband and as soon as Sky Sports became available, together with ESPN, I signed up for it.  You had to pay a one off £10 for the card for the ESPN bit. This is about 9 years ago.  I have used that card ever since right up to, I think, 12th June this year when BT chopped those programmes off. In May this year I had a letter from BT saying what was going to happen and that as I had a "Current" viewing card I would get BT sport for free, being a broadband customer.  Anyway this card wouldn't work on the new BT sport and then the TopUp TV card arrived in the post so I could use it and get really excited watching all the sport on BT (except boring Clare Balding).  Well that card did absolutely nothing when inserted and I have been on the phone to BT ever since.  It's like a part-time job really. I've made alot of friends in India and might go over there at Xmas to see them all.  Happy days.  Anyway glad its all worked out well for some people, I'll just keep on phoning up.

  • How to get BT sport on the television. You view or...

I'm look at ordering phone, TV and infinity. The main attraction is that BT sport is free.
I want to watch BT sport on the tele, not online using an app or otherwise.
So this is where I get confused.
If i enter my postcode and house number im told sport and entertainment channels are not available in my area?! If i enter my old postcode (just moved) they are available.
So why is not available where I moved to? I'm assuming it's done 'over the air' which is why I cant get it.
To confuse matters if I do a freeview check it shows BT sport 1 and 2 as available?!
I've been reading around and it would appear that I require a BT Vision + box and a viewing card, instead of the youview box, is that correct? If so how do I explictly order a BT Vision + box and a viewing card. All the online ordering processes come back and tell me that I'll get the youview box, but as I undersatnd it this will not allow me to watch BT Sport on the tele.
Can someone say for certain what I need to watch the sport channels on the television.
    My postcode is LA5 9TS.
    It's clear as mud.

    Hi,
If you are ordering Infinity then there should be no reason that you can't watch BT Sport on the youview box. I put your postcode into http://www.productsandservices.bt.com/products/tv/packages and it has the option to order "BT Entertainment + Infinity".

  • £30 Activation Fee BT Sports - Sky

Just enquired about getting BT Sports added on as I am now a Sky customer.
I have previously been with BT and well, the old adage if you've got nothing good to say don't say anything at all definatley applies. Sky are simply on another planet for TV and customer service. Fibre is 50/50, both are as good as each other.
But Jesus, £30 activaton and £16/17 for HD. Seriously cannot believe many people are coughing that up on top of a Sky Sports subscription.
I can deal being wihtout it just now but seriously gonna miss the CL/EL and some of the Scottish/English football next season. But simply cannot afford both and that activation fee is a killer.
    Sad times.

    That's not bad actually.
Not sure why the lad on the phone couldn't have advised me of this?
No activation fee, free HD for 3 months & free 2nd box for 3 months too.
The only thing that bothers me is the 12 month contract due to the fact BT will probably do some good offers when the CL/EL starts next season as I heard there will be separate channel for that and it'll be a bolt on so I'll be paying for this and CL/EL separate on top of HD.
Must be a bundled deal of sorts on the horizon, would be happy to enter a 12 month at that point. Just too many ifs & buts just now.
    Thanks though, good for thought.

  • BT Sport Library

I am on the £5 essentials vision package with a YouView box. I have BTS through a sky card which works fine.
Should I have access to the vision BT sport library, it's telling me to subscribe to watch this content. Do I need to pay for the top package to view sport library content or is there a fault with the set up?
    Many Thanks

    Hi RJ414i,
Since you have BT Sport on your Sky box, you'll have access to the catch-up and on demand programmes on the BT Sport app and online player. To get BT Sport catch-up/on demand on your YouView or Vision box, you'd need a BT Sport subscription for BT TV, because BT Sport isn't part of the Vision Essential or Unlimited TV packages.
    Cheers

  • New York Ink - not able to download

I was looking through the Vision TV channels and came across NY Ink Series 1. Being a fan of the other Ink Series (London, Miami, LA) I thought I would have a watch of an epside but when I go to download one it tells me I will have to subscribe? I currently have Vision Essentials and with all other titles on the Demand service it shows the price and allows me to download it - so why would it be different for this one series?
Also, can anyone with ESPN tell me what the quality is like on Vision? I had it via Freeview Top-Up TV and it was pretty poor quality compared to other channels.
    Thanks,
    Simon

The ESPN quality for a SD channel generally seems fine to me this season.
I agree the quality was pretty naff in the past --  several things have changed this year - different (newer) black vision box , digital switchover resulting in stronger transmisiion power plus I believe a lot more of the ESPN programming is now based upon sport filmed by the host broadcaster in  HD so recorded quality is better even when transmitted in SD.

  • Why is BT Sport on Freeview?

Nobody can watch it so why bother putting it there and wasting freeiew bandwidth.

The "free" claim for BT broadband customers is based on internet access, which you have; you can watch that on a telly with an HDMI connection to a computer. Anybody with Freeview, BT customer or not, can receive the BT Sport channels but a BTTV subscription is necessary to decode them (though the content is delivered by broadband for BTTV customers with Infinity). Freeview delivers several other encrypted channels which have been around much longer than the BT Sport ones and similarly require a subscription with the owner.

  • Sky Sports freeview switch off ?

After reading that a couple of people have had letters saying from late April their sports will be over infinity.
Does that mean the freeview switch off for SS will be then do you think?
As I'm not getting infinity, let alone multicast in my area, will I miss the end of the footie season?

    No it's not happening then

  • Does a sports camera positioned beside the top right corner of iPhone4 cause interference to GPS?

I rarely experience inaccurate tracking on Sports Tracker app though I did experience it the other day.
Since buying my HRM2 (for iPhone 4) I no longer run the myriad other GPS tracking apps on my iPhone. However, while out on a ride I discovered ST was not tracking well, so decided to simultaneously run a couple of apps. Another also experienced tracking problems.
I decided to remove the iPhone from the ST bike mount and put it in my back pack. The tracking issue resolved itself.
I was operating a sports camera on my bike at the time. It was located right beside the top right corner of the iPhone. On another bike, the sports camera is positioned differently (forward and lower of the top left corner) and I have experienced no problems with tracking. Could it have been causing interference on this ride due to its position?

My daughter has had her Razr for about 9 months now.  About two weeks ago she picked up her phone in the morning on her way to school when she noticed two cracks, both starting at the camera lens. One goes completely to the bottom and the other goes sharply to the side. She has never dropped it and me and my husband went over it with a fine tooth comb. We looked under a magnifying glass and could no find any reason for the glass to crack. Not one ding, scratch or bang. Our daughter really takes good care of her stuff, but we still wanted to make sure before we sent it in for repairs. Well we did and we got a reply from Motorola with a picture of the cracks saying this was customer abuse and that it is not covered under warranty. Even though they did not find any physical damage to back it up. Well I e-mailed them back and told them I did a little research and found pages of people having the same problems. Well I did not hear from them until I received a notice from Fed Ex that they were sending the phone back. NOT FIXED!!! I went to look up why and guess what there is no case open any more for the phone. It has been wiped clean. I put in the RMA # it comes back not found, I put in the ID #, the SN# and all comes back not found. Yet a day earlier all the info was there. I know there is a lot more people like me and all of you, but they just don't want to be bothered so they pay to have it fix, just to have it do it again. Unless they have found the problem and only fixing it on a customer pay only set up. I am furious and will not be recommending this phone to anyone. And to think I was considering this phone for my next up grade! NOT!!!!

  • Sky Sports on Current old school freeview

    Hi folks,
i'm moving in a few months time to a new build house.
There is no fibre broadband services yet from BT, just the usual ADSL.
When I request my move, am I right in thinking that I WILL retain these channels?
    Any help would be grateful.
    Kind Regards
    Andy

BT undertake to provide your existing services as far as possible when you move home. As far as I know, the Sports restrictions apply to new customers, not existing customers moving to new addresses. You should be able to get confirmation on 0800 800 150, option 3.

  • Sky sports channel 41 question- freeview

    Hi,
    Thinking of adding Skysports option.
Looking at the available channels on my BT vision box it shows channel 42 but not 41.
I have rescanned but only 42 shows up. Do I need an aerial upgrade.
    Cheers
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

First, check BT Vision -> Settings -> TV Settings -> Customise Channels and make sure that SS1 isn't unchecked. Both SS1 an SS2 are on the same mux, so if it recognises one it should recognise both.

  • BT Sports frustration

"To say i am frustrated would be a huge understatement, i cannot believe the lack of service/ response avaliable from a huge company like BT."
Here!, here! ..................... I'm not taking the service up when it reverts to full price! All I'm getting, after hours on the fone to Bt.com Sports tekkies (I use that word loosely!), is their broadcast via my freeview TV aerial, but absolutely **bleep** ALL via BT Infinty broadband to my computer. It took a day or so to get their tv service, as they had forgot to switch me on for 6th August (their commited contract date), and we finally got their TV package on the 11 th August.
Via the net to my main computer: they query the spec of my Dell computer, however it plays live BBC progs via their desktop i-player @ the drop of a hat, with no stuttering or freezing.
Whoever is responsible for the release of BT.Com Sports, etc., on "the net", should swing from the highest tree!!!!
Yes, @ 66 years of age (with plenty of I.T. experience), I am thoroughly disenchanted with BT !!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm also a BT share holder, so I intend to burn the ear of the man/woman @ the top!

There are some out there getting problems with BT Sport etc that are down to using their own routers that are not compatible with BT's transmission.
Just be aware that if not using a HH3 or 4 then only a few routers are known to work , eg Billion 7800s and some Drayteks.

  • Can Sky use the Freeview logo like that?

Surprised this hasn't come up already.  Now that we have Sky Sports the first thing I noticed was that Sky have added an extra logo next to the Sky Sports 1/2 logo in the top right on the digital terrestrial transmission.  The logo is the same shape as the Freeview logo which suggests this is being done to ensure no pubs, etc are using the BT/TopUp version of Sky Sports as I believe BT/TopUp aren't allowed to sell to commercial premises.  Now, I thought Sky had already taken care of this with the 'pint glass' logo on the Pub versions of Sky Sports on digital satellite which means there shouldn't be any need for this extra logo which is permanently on, even during the commercials which of course could result in screen burn, etc.
    So, a few questions really:
As the 'shape' is that of the Freeview logo, are they actually allowed to use it?
Who asked for it to be there, BT or Sky?
Can it be changed / removed / moved?
Why does it need to be there at all?
---Remember to mark as 'solved' and give stars when you like a post---

Additional information.   Can this be right?
I spoke to Apple support who said that the settings for podcast syncing in iTunes are no longer being used since Apple moved to their Podcast app.
This may explain why I see all 45 podcasts on my iphone when I only have 15 of them set to sync.
She also said that I would need to manually sync listened/unlistened podcasts between my Mac and my mobile devices since podcasts were no longer being synced from iTunes.
    Can anyone verify?

  • Help in receiving BT Sports

Hopefully someone will be able to assist?
Quick question is, if I buy a BT Youview box (from Dabs - not BT), will I be able to receive/watch BT Sports, already being a subscriber to Infinity2 for Fibre BB?
To explain the circumstances, I used to have a TV, connected to an old Sky digibox with a 'once only' sky card in, plus a PVR. By linking the sky card to my BT account I could watch BT Sports. A few weeks ago the immersion tank decided to blow, flooding the house from top down, in the process killing the (old but surviving) entertainment system.
So, I am in the process of trying to 're-generate' my system, but obviously in the most efficient way possible.
Ideally I want freesat (previously received through the old sky digibox), plus freeview, but also the ability to watch BT Sports.
I was intending to purchase a BT Youview box to act as the conduit for both freeview and BT Sport, but don't know whether this would work without an additional subscription?
Failing that I would be looking to buy the Sky freesat system, so that would get me freesat and BT Sports, then buy a separate PVR with freeview.
Any help and advice gladly accepted.

Unfortunately to receive BT Sport channels on any YouView box you need a BTTV subscription (min £5 a month). If you are thinking of buying a box though why not sign up to BTTV for £5 a month plus a one off £35 activation charge, you will get the latest G4 YouView box (by far the best out there) and after 12 months the box is your's even if you cancel the subscription..

P.S. Dabs is owned by BT
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dabs.com
Obviously if you stopped the subscription you would lose bt sports but it is fairly certain it will start to cost in 12 months time anyway
Other than that you could buy a £30 chromecast device and cast it onto your TV or use the sky method you describe.
Slightly unsure why you feel you need freesat and freeview.
scointer, many thanks for the response. To be totally honest I am asking on behalf of my Dad, who had the set up as described.
The estate he lives on has 'piped' satellite and digital tv - ie no personal minidishes/aerials. In answer to the freeview AND freesat question, by all accounts if he recorded on one (either freeview or /sat) the quality of what he was watching at the time dropped or vice versa. I am thinking that this may possibly be due to the age of his equipment, and possibly the way it was connected. I will do more digging on what he actually needs - understanding at his age he needs it 'just to work'!
I am thinking the Sky freesat route is the way to go - i.e. simplest, then add on a PVR and DVD player.
His main concern is he needs the Sky/freesat so he can watch BT Sports, free due to his BB contract.
I have heard that chromecast may not be fully up to the task in hand, in that the picture may lose definition when connected up to a full size TV. I guess there is only one way to find out - might have to look into one myself...
PS - Realised DABS is a BT product - but it does some awesome deals at times...(just bagged around £240 worth of gaming kit for a little under a £100!)!
