Freeware To Convert .swf or .fla to Quicktime or .png or .jpg for iMovie?

Hi. Just wondering if anyone's aware of any Freeware (or economical Shareware) for converting Flash's .swf or .fla files into a Quicktime file or even .png or .jpg's for import into iMovie. I know of a couple app's like this for Windows but need one for Mac's. Thanks for any assistance.

Actually, go here...
http://www.freedownloadscenter.com/Multimediaand_Graphics/Misc__Graphics_Tools/Swf_Avi_Convert____Free_Converter__.html
That will get .swf to .avi(which is QT compatible) And it is free.
Or
http://www.freedownloadscenter.com/Multimediaand_Graphics/Video_and_AnimationTools/VIDEOzilla.html
Which is 30 dollars.
Let me know if either of these apps will work for you.

  • Converting .swf to .fla

    I will be supporting a new website and I don't have the
    original .fla files. Is there a way to convert .swf files to .fla
    so that I can make changes to the different layers, etc.?

    Hi,
    You can decompile the SWFs you are working on using any SWF
    decompiler, search for one on Google, but the result sometimes is
    not as good as the source files.

  • Convert SWF to FLA

    Help! I accidentally deleted my fla file, but still have the
    SWF? Is there any way to convert swf to a layered fla file?
    Or any other way to quickly re-create the layered file. Being
    new to Flash, I spent (too) many hours on this project to lose it
    with the (accidental) click of a button.

    theres a software called flash decompiler, or you can use
    imperator, google them

  • Can you convert SWF to FLA?

    I am probably the stupidest person in the world...  I accidently deleted my FLA file while cleaning up my computer.   But I have the SWF version.  Is there a way to convert my SWF to a FLA?  I tried renaming but it didn't work.  I really don't want to start all over-- the project took weeks!

    I work for a defense contractor, so I need a reliable and safe program to recommend.
    Any defense contractor which is allowing swf files on their network should be informed that you will hardly find any piece of software,
    that is less reliable and less safe than flash.
    I have many swf files that I need to edit, but when I import them into flash I lose a lot of the internal animations.
    Even the best decompilers will make it hard for you to modify the internal code if you`are not the programmer who originally made it.
    If you have "many" swf files and only need the animation, you will it find a lot less complicated to convert them to video and use a program like AfterEffects to tailor it to your visual needs.

  • NON-Flash User Wants to Edit and "Recompile" an SWF or FLA file...help??

    Hello!! Although I am NOT new to Mac, I have NEVER attempted to edit an SWF file and I'm seeking an EASY way to do so. I think I might be CLOSE but I'm wasting time trying to figure it out so I'm posting here for some help...hopefully!! :-))
    I also apologize because I did NOT know where to post this question so KINDLY direct me if I have posted in the wrong place!
    Soooo, I have an complete, original .swf flash movie. It is a Holiday greeting but the VERY LAST frame has text that is NOT RELEVANT and I wish to change that text.
    It appears that the text I want to change is (I do NOT know the correct term) a "layer" of graphic content for the last frame.
    So, I have done TWO THINGS: I have used the Flash Decompiler app to (1) create an .fla file and (2) DECOMPILED the entire .swf extracting ALL the resources/objects that are used to create the original .swf animation. I have NO IDEA what to do with the .fla file...I know it is used to edit the animation but I do not have software to manipulate the file.
    BUT, in the decompiled files, I HAVE LOCATED the one resource...a TEXT RESOURCE...that I wish to change. This extracted text resource is named "Dynamic text 293.swf", saved as in .swf format.
    Now HERE is where I am STUCK!!...and I THINK this is the direction I would like to go:
    1. Open the Dynamic text 293.swf file in a format that allows me to EDIT THE TEXT I wish to change. HOW DO I DO THAT?? Can I convert it to a jpeg, edit the text, and then BACK to an .swf file?? Can I simply CREATE a JPEG and somehow SAVE IT as an .swf file to REPLACE the Dynamic text 293.swf file? Is there an EASIER/DIFFERENT way to edit the text in this Dynamic text 293.swf file?
    2. After editing the text in the Dynamic text 293.swf file, HOW DO I "RECOMPILE" the folder of alllll the extracted resources from the original .swf animation, NOW with this NEW/EDITED Dynamic text 293.swf file, and RECREATE the full .swf with the changes I made??
    Again, I do NOT have FLASH or MACROMEDIA or any of those apps :-/ I DO have the .fla file conversion AND have isolated the SINGLE extracted resource file (Dynamic text 293.swf) that I want to edit.
    THANK YOU TO EVERYONE FOR YOUR HELP Greatly appreciated!!
    Scott

    That's a problem, since the format changes between jpg and swf when converted
    probably won't just go back to their previous state, less the changed section.
    The converter you have, is it a freeware to convert swf to fla; or what does it say
    that it can do? In some cases, a flash video can be copied (perhaps illegally)
    through use of a software such as Ambrosia's SnapZ ProX and a movie of any-
    thing playing on your Mac can be copied. So, a movie could be paused at the
    end where the unwanted content exists, so the copy would not have it recorded.
    Snapz ProX - Ambrosia Software: (not freeware, has 'free trial' version)
    http://www.ambrosiasw.com/utilities/snapzprox/
    Otherwise, there are a few shareware and freeware editors for swf content; to
    some degree or another they either convert content or allow some editing.
    And this may only work as far as the item's creator allowed, if the file is locked.
    ' swf fla freeware editor Mac OS X ' - google search:
    http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=swffla+freeware+editor+Mac+OS+X&btnG=GoogleSearch&aq=f&oq=
    I'd tried some basic editing of swf files a few years ago, and was able to only
    convert the string of images into single-frame jpgs and work on each one,
    but could not get them back into an swf. Perhaps graphic converter or other
    software could do something for these; but I am inexperienced in all that.
    Good luck & happy computing!

  • Editing an SWF or FLA file

    I have both the FLA and SWF files for a website template I
    bought. I am trying to edit the file in Flash CS4 using the
    following instructions. But I never see any of this code - all I
    get are errors and the Movie timeline. How do I get to the code to
    modify it? I'm a total novice at Flash but I want to learn.
    Flash CS3/CS4 - additional changes
    There are some differences between Flash MX 2004 and Adobe
    Flash CS3, and therefore you need to make some small changes to the
    FLA file if you want to edit the FLA file
    To do this you need to open the photographer.fla file, go to
    the act layer, and then in the first frame you will see the
    following code:
    stop();
    Stage.scaleMode = "noScale";
    Stage.align = "T";
    _root.pagen=0
    _root.loadVariables("text.html", 0, "POST");
    You should replace it with the code below and then save the
    changes and export it as an SWf file.
    stop();
    Stage.scaleMode = "noScale";
    Stage.align = "T";
    _root.pagen=0
    _root.loadVariables("text.html");

  • Convert .SWF

    Does anyone know how I can convert .SWF files to either Quicktime or .AVI? Thanks, as always.

    You can try Aunsoft SWF Converter, It can convert swf to avi with high quality,
    I think it support Quicktime either.
    You can download it, install and uninstall very easily!

  • Converting swf to quicktime

    I was wondering if anyone could guide me in the right
    direction in terms of converting swf's into quicktime. I've been

    Thanks.

    www.flashants.com - look at SWF2Video (Windows). It will
    convert an swf to AVI - from there you
    should be able to export it to MOV using a video application
    designed to handle such an export.

  • .swf or .fla to .mov with audio converter?

    Hey all,
    I am looking for a way to get a .swf or .fla to a .mov file. I have compressor and quicktime pro with the macromedia suite. I can drop the .swf file in to compressor but i lose the audio. I also lose the audio when i export form flash to quicktime.
    Any ideas ?

    Hello, and thank you.
    I did resolve the issue by exporting to .mov through Premiere and then buying Quicktime Pro and Exporting again from QT - I lost extremely little quality, but it seems that QT was able to discard any "extraneous" info (I'd be curious to find out what just what that info is).
    I should mention that I wasn't very clear in my last - my first approach WAS to export from Flash... I tried it with all sorts of compression settings and all sorts of frame sizes, but the best I could ever get was an image of very poor quality with all sorts of artifacts. Because of that, I will most likely contact Adobe directly to make them aware that in my case at least the export to .mov option proved to be useless at best and a terrible time-waster at worst (sad but true).
    There is audio in the file, and unfortunately Premiere does not seem to import it with the .swf file (unless there is some option I missed). On that count, I didn't have a problem - I just needed to re-insert the same audio file into Premiere as a part of my movie before sending it out again.
    Anyway, thanks again. Most helpful!

  • Convert SWF to MPEG or AVI

    What is the easiest way to convert an SWF (or FLA for that matter) to a standard video format like MPEG2 or AVI?
    I've tried a couple programs I found on a google search, but none of them seem to work correctly. I'm hoping someone on here knows of a good way (really seems like it should be a built in feature, or at least a purchasable plug-in).

    I should mention, and maybe this will help the problem be diagnosed:
    I'm trying to convert 2 different animations (both created by me). One seems to convert pretty easily (by a few different programs). The other keeps showing up as only "2 frames" in a few different programs. In one program it registers as half the vertical resolution, and gets stretched to the expected resolution.
    If I can solve the 2 frame thing, I already have a program that seems to work fine.
    Any ideas?

  • Converting swf to h.264 format?

    Has anyone successfully converted a Captivate swf (that contains audio narration, such as text-to-speech) to an H.264 format? I've tried publishing to F4V and then using Adobe Media Encoder to convert to H.264 video, but the voice becomes out of sync with the video. I don't have any audio/video sync issues in the swf at all.
    Thanks.
    EDIT: actually when I use F4V with Fixed Frame Rate, the audio stays in sync, but gets distorted. Not only is the audio distorted, but the video ends up being paused at various places momentarily. I can see this happen while I am publishing as F4V--the video actually stops running/publishing momentarily (this always happens at the same places in the video). This pause always happens on the first slide as the mouse begins to move, and then happens at the same places in a few other places in the course of the video. These pauses are actually in the finished F4V. I don't think this is a problem of system resources, either.

    This isn't so much of an answer as it is a question: how did this issue work out for joebor1776?! I asked this like same ? earlier today (about converting swf to h.264) but got no reply while I waited... Mine doesn't have sound but did you have to convert 1st to quicktime and then to the h.264 or did you give up to plot another process?

  • Is is easy to transform *.SWF or *.WME to *.QUICKTIME MOV?

    I am using
    - Captivate from Macromedia -result = SWF file
    - Windows Media Encoder - resuslt - WME file
    to capture animated computer screen with mouse movemments
    and sound.
    WHich software do I use transform *.SWF or *.WME to *.QUICKTIME MOV?
    gnh888
    HP3542   Windows 2000

    you could try winmpg, I personaly have never tried it before (I just googled swf to avi)
    http://www.winmpg.com/SWF-to-AVI.html
    you would take the output from this and either run it though again in a diffrent format and put that into quicktime or just use the avi
    as for the WME you might be able to open it in windows movie maker then export the file as a wmv, that winmpg program says it will convert wmv to avi...
    and to make the quicktime files your going to need to buy quicktime pro...
