Freeze an behavior

Can I freeze an behavior in the middle for a while ?
Fox example, scroll text, freeze it to make the final paragraph stopped on the screen.
Many thx

Yes.
this can be done simply by using the Scroll text Behavior
with Speed Control set to 'fixed'
and using duplicates of the behavior for each time you
would like the text to begin moving again
(the first behavior would have 'start off screen' checked and the rest would not.)
you should be able to work it out by taking a look at this .motn file I've
thrown together as an example: http://files.me.com/lucidmotion/tdb07d
This is one way to do it.
you could also use a move behavior with a custom parameter controlling
the starts and stops with keyframes and you could tweak the curves of these
keyframes if you wanted more control over the ease in and out when the text starts and stops.
Hope I have explained some options clearly enough, I'm sure others can possibly
explain better if you are still stuck.

  • Odd freeze track behavior

I can't get certain freeze tracks to mute. They aren't effected by the mute button and when I solo other tracks, these freeze tracks continue to play. They do respond to the volume fader and pan. Right now it's just 2 tracks and both are audio tracks. Anyone else have a similar problem?

Hi, You could mute the regions on the track -
Muting regions does not work with Melodyne plugin or Side Chain compressors.
Melodyne works by streaming its audio slices direct inside the channel strips inserts ... so you can only deselect output and/or turn off automation (that usually contain muted parts) and MUTE the channel strip that with automation off never will be turned to ON!.
The same behavior should happen with a "Side Chained" compressors/gate/expander that use the awesome feature of the Logic Mixer!
infact... Side Chain should be another cause for this issue...
That it is not an issue.... this is a great Logic features... just you need to learn how Logic works ("you" is not refered personally to Erik or Jon... it is only a "general" "you" = new logic users)

  • Leopard mail is dead!

After I installed Leopard, my Mail program has completely died. The icon is in the dock, but when I click on it, it does not bounce or open the mailbox. It does make the Mail toolbar appear across the top, but the drop-downs do not result in any action. The only way I can send and receive e-mail is by logging into my .mac account online. I would really like to use Mail as a feature on the computer, especially with all of the pretty new formats and photos.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, my smart friends.

    a couple of things:
    1) make sure you are trying to launch the right version of Mail. in spotlight search for Mail.app, fo you see more than one version? also go to applications folde, select Mail, get info, what version is it 3.x or earlier? 3.x is the Leopard version. if you have more than one, get rid of the dock icon, replace it with the right version, if you have only the old version on your computer, you need to do a custom install and only reinstall Mail from your Leopard disk.
    2) do you by any chance use plug ins, add ons or input managers with Mail? some users have reported crash/freeze/odd behavior with such apps. let me know
    hope this helps

  • Random freezing and odd keyboard behaviors on 10.5.8

My random freezing started on 10.5.6. Updated to 10.5.7 and the problem persist. I have decided to upgrade to 10.5.8. Everything seemed fine for a day and a half. Then all of a sudden random freezing when starting, login, wake from sleep, etc.. and now odd keyboard behaviors. function keys randomly work when computer is not frozen.
I have tried every option listed in the discussions here and elsewhere. Does anyone have the same problems?

    I have tried so far:
disk permissions repaired from dvd and startup,
disk first aid, cleaned caches, virus checked, zapped the pram, reset power management, ran apple hardware check, ran disk warrior, trashed network prefs, deleted sleep image, replaced directory with techtool pro, tried new user account, re-updated, removed 3rd party software, and nothing works?????

  • Basic behavior - compile vs. save, application freezes and other questions

    Hi all,
I've just recently moved from MS SQL to Oracle and found Oracle SQL Developer the only more or less working application to access the database and write scripts. Still, there are some issues which are beyond me in this application. So what I'd need to know:
    1) When I open a package and edit it, what is the difference between hitting CTRL+S (save) and Compile? I just need to change the code, not run the damn script. Run and Debug I suppose would execute the whole package.
    2) When I save a package, why does the application freeze? I have no idea what it is doing, but when I kill it the code is not changed.
    3) When I connect to packages of a different user why cannot it export the ddl / source code of the whole package?
    4) When I am inactive for some time, is there some normal way to reconnect to the connection other than disconnect + connect, which closes all windows I have open on the connection?
    5) Why does drag + drop a table name to SQL worksheet sometimes offer me to create a script and sometimes ignores me completely?
    6) Is there any way to convince the popups with table/column names to work also with variables and/or to show also data types of columns? Incidentally, is there a way to make it work all the time and not just during favorable moon phases?
Thank you ever so much for answering any but preferably all questions.

    1. None
    2. Might be a lock - check the Enterprise Manager
    3. What is connecting to packages? How are you trying that export?
    4. Go vote on http://htmldb.oracle.com/pls/otn/f?p=42626:39:1538555050886906::NO::P39_ID:10421 to add weight for a real reconnect option
    5. Script? You mean insert/update/select, right?
    6. You mean the completion insight? Note you can force it to show with CTRL-space. If that doesn't work you'll have to be more specific.

    K.

  • Hardware Kernel Freezes an weird ACPI behavior

Hi. Im new to the arch linux and linux in general.  I have a Intel DG965WH mobo with 1 GB DDR2 Kingston Valueram and a Nvidia Geforce 8600 GT with a Intel Core 2 Duo 4300.
I installed and everything went OK. Except that when I first booted the machine, it froze in "Loading UDev uevents [BUSY]" no matter what. Then edited the following line in rc.conf:
MOD_AUTOLOAD="yes" to MOD_AUTOLOAD="no". Then the system finally booted.
I noticed  that I, and many more users, even those with no apparent problems has a line where the kernel complains about non-existent processors (AE_NOT_FOUND Device is not present), like this output from dmesg from booting the installed arch:

    Hi esimpsoneditor-
In order to troubleshoot this thing properly you should eliminate every external peripheral that you possibly can and see if the machine works.
If you think the Dlink adapters are a cause why not remove them each night before leaving or better yet connect to the internet for a while via a hard-wired ethernet connection and see what happens.

  • Two instances of quirky behavior: array size of empty array and tab control freeze

    LV 7.1
Array size of empty array. Adding empty arrays to an array of higher dimension produces a fantom array of non-zero size.
Tab control freeze. An event structure with checked 'lock front panel until the event case completes' option permanently freezes the front panel in certain special circumstances.

Whew, let me look at this tonight after I activate the 4D module in my brain.
(I think it makes sense, though ) Generally I look at the product of the dimensions array to determine if an array is empty. You can initialize a multidimensional array with some dimensions at zero and it is reproduced nicely in the array size output. Also the "Empty array" tool correctly identifies it as empty, even if some dimensions are nonzero.

  • Weir behavior from 10.8.2 - Hangs up/freezes

    Hey,
So recently my MBP started to behavie weird.
It freezes/hangs up bot not is the standard fashion, where it just stops responding, but slowly crashes.
So the general way that this happens is:
I am browsing the web on Chrome.
All of a sudden chrome stops working, but it is responding, for example I can't load new pages, but I can change/open tabs, move in a history of a tab. The apple menu and all of the entires in the menu bar are unreachable (beach ball).
Rest of the apps are working fine, and then I go the force quit Chrome (btw. in that dialog nothing is marked as not responding), which makes the force quit stops responding, After that any application that I click also stops responding and to regain any control over the device you need to restart it using the power button.
I looked through the console and tried unistalling the apps that I didn't need any more as well as changing the apps that I am using to see whether they cause it but with no luck. Sometimes it took a little longer to crash but it inevitably crashed. It also appears to happen in cycles/waves i.e. for the past two weeks everything was ok but in the last two days I had it happen 4 times (and once as I was writing this post)
Does anyone has any idea what might be the cause of it or how to troubleshoot it?
MBP late 2010, Mountain Lion 10.8.2
    Thx for the help!

You need the instalation disc to run the test.
Make a "Genius" appointment at an Apple Store.
Back up all data on the internal drive(s) before you hand over your computer to anyone. If privacy is a concern, erase the data partition(s) with the option to write zeros* (do this only if you have at least two complete, independent backups, and you know how to restore to an empty drive from any of them.) Don’t erase the recovery partition, if present.

  • Mac Pro  Freezes/erratic mouse behavior

I've been using a Mac since 1997 and I have never seen anything like what my machine started doing yesterday. Yesterday the machine started to randomly freeze up. All windows become unresponsive as do menus and all keyboard commands. The mouse cursor still responds.
The first step I took was to boot from my Snow Leopard disc, rand disc repair and then permissions repair. This did not fix the problem. For some reason the apple menu seems to trigger some of the lockups, but other times it is another app. Finally I backed up my entire user directory. Then I booted from the install disc, erased the hard drive, and installed a clean copy of Snow Leopard.
It was most frustrating when after the clean install the computer froze in the same manner as before. I've tried resetting the PRAM also.
I'm open to any suggestions at this point. I'm an independent web developer, and having my machine down, is giving me an ulcer. Thank you in advance for anyone who can help.

    Hello there loneaggie,
I am wondering if you have had any luck fixing this problem as I have pretty much the exact same problem. The computer freezes but the mouse is still moveable. This happens pretty much randomly for me and about every 4 hour. I have run tests with pretty much all utility software that is out there with nothing popping up. I am using an older 8 core MacPro with an ATI 2600 graphics card.
The card's fan has begun to get quite noisy so I am guessing it might be overheating, especially since I have a full rack of 4 internal drives, including some high speed raptor drives which probably make things hotter than usual.
I'm going to clean things out with some compressed air but I'm wondering if you have had any luck with fixing your problem or where the thread this discusion was continued on exists?

  • Irregular behavior entering sleep + iMac freezes in verify disk

My iMac (Core 2 Duo, OS X 10.4.10) is having some sleep issues. When iChat is running and I put it to sleep, it makes the iChat disconnect sound several times (and in a very scary way), and only then goes to sleep. When I wake it, a gray screen appears for a second, and only then the machine comes back.
I ran the Verify Disk command in Disk Utility, and the Mac froze, forcing me to shut it down through the power button. I then booted from Install Disk 1, and ran a verify disk command from there. It showed no problem, so I booted back to my main drive, and the sleep issues continued. I tried to run Verify Disk again(form the main drive), and the mac froze again.
The only thing I changed was deleting some .plist files from iChat, since it kept disconnecting.
I really have no idea what to do next. I would really appreciate if someone could help me to solve this isuue.
    Thanks,
    Omer.

In order for iChat to stay connected and running the computer needs to stay awake, when you go to the drop down menu and select sleep it puts both the (Display and Computer) to sleep.
On that note there are two thing you can do:
    1. Quit iChat befor sleeping the computer from the drop-down menu!
    2. Leave the computer awake and only sleep the display, how you ask?

  • Strange freeze and login behavior in 10.4.6

Here's a weird one: the other day, shortly after I booted and opened Safari, my G3 iBook froze completely -- no cursor movement, nothing. I rebooted, but this time it took at least 5 minutes to reboot, and when it did, it presented me with the login screen (my iBook is normally set to automatically login under my user name). I entered my user name and password, but got the "screen shake", indicating it would not accept my user name and/or password. (and before you ask, both user name and password were entered correctly). Nothing would get it to work, so I rebooted from my other hard drive and ran DiskWarrior, which reported nothing wrong, but I replaced the directory anyway. I got the recalcitrant login screen again. I rebooted into the other hard drive again, ran TechTool Pro 4's diagnostics on the files and did a surface scan -- still no luck. I finally reinstalled the iBook's backup which was also on the other hard drive (thank heavens for SuperDuper!) and was able to get the iBook to boot normally.
Can anyone explain what may have happened, and how I can avoid it in the future?
    Thanks. . .

  • Macbook Air 2012: intermittent, random freezes of trackpad and keyboard lasting a few seconds each

There have been a few other people to have reported this problem, but there has been no consistent solution for me on my Macbook Air 13" 2012, running 10.8.4.
What happens is this: while typing, the built-in keyboard and trackpad will suddenly lock up at the same time, randomly, intermittently, and for just a few seconds before returning to normal. This has been true through all the updates of 10.8.x since I bought the system last year.
During the freeze, one of the three behaviors occurs:
    1) both keyboard and trackpad are completely unresponsive
    2) both keyboard and trackpad get really slow, with high latency. Keys pressed show up much later or have to be pressed several times before registering. Trackpad is jumpy if it moves at all.
    3) key gets stuck, sometimes the BACKSPACE key, which usually results in several dozen emails getting deleted or entire paragraphs, or rows and rows of the same stuck key. Pressing other keys does nothing.
I've spoken online with various other people who have the same problem and confirmed that the built-in keyboard and trackpad seem to be joined together whenever this problem strikes. You never see one freeze without the other also freezing.
Also, these commonly-recommended solutions don't work:
    a) Reset PRAM. Done this many times. Does nothing.
    b) Bring it in to Apple. Did this too. They replaced the keyboard and trackpad but the problem remains.
    c) Clearing caches in safe mode. No improvement.
    d) Removing "com.google.keystone.deamon.plist" and "com.google.keystone.agent.plist" doesn't seem to work either, even though the errors and behavior are exactly the same for me as for george.e.gonzalez in this thread: https://discussions.apple.com/message/19702976#19702976
These files do come back, though, thanks to Google Software Update. The keystone software appears to be part of Google Chrome, although I cannot confirm this.
    e) I DO have Google Android File Transfer installed like one other person reported; they said uninstalling it fixed the problem. Unfortunately, that has not worked for me. Also, Android File Transfer is installed (same version 1.0.50.2266, same Mac OS 10.8.4) on an older 2008 Macbook, and it works fine, which points to something on just this Macbook Air as being the cause.
    f) I don't use the Radio Silence firewall app--can't remove it.
    g) I don't have the telldus device or whatever it is, so I don't have the "com.telldus.service.plist" to remove.
    h) Completely clearing out /Library/LaunchAgents, /Library/LaunchDaemons, and /Library/StartupItems doesn't do anything.
    i) Repairing permissions or repairing the volume does nothing.
    j) Reinstalling the OS fresh does nothing.
    k) I don't have an external trackpad, mouse, or keyboard for testing while the freezing happens, but the machine itself seems to be working, just not the built-in input devices, which are on the same USB bus.
    l) Pressing ESC does not stop the key stuck situation, as it does for some people.
It feels to me like a hardware problem, not an OS problem, and it feels like a USB bus issue. I have noticed that when I insert USB flash drives, I get the same lock-up for a few seconds, something which my other Macs don't do.
I've also noticed various USB errors in the Console around the same time (same as george.e.gonzalez):
    7/26/13 1:20:04.000 AM kernel[0]: AppleUSBMultitouchDriver::_deviceGetReport - DeviceRequest for reportID 0x0 returned with result 0xe000404f - retrying
    7/26/13 1:20:05.000 AM kernel[0]: USBF:          844075.636          AppleUSBEHCI[0xffffff80157f1000]::Found a transaction which hasn't moved in 5 seconds on bus 0x1a, timing out! (Addr: 2, EP: 0)
But I'm not able to precisely correlate these errors to the pause.
Is anybody else having this problem that can shed more light on it than these other suggested repairs? This has been frustrating for quite a while, but I've had the stuck BACKSPACE key delete hundreds of emails on a webmail platform that I was unable to recover using Undo and out of the trash, and that's just no longer tolerable...
Thank you, thank you, thank you, if anyone can help me fix this!

    Hi, Dan--
Nope, none of those four... I do have Dropbox but never installed it on this machine. The other three are services I've never signed up for.
I am basically using these apps up-front:
Mail.app, Safari, Notes, Terminal, maybe LibreOffice 4.0.x, maybe Sublime Text 2, Console.
And the freezes happen about twice a day, usually when I'm in Mail or Terminal, but that's because those are the ones where I'm typing the most and can see immediately when the freezes happen. It could be happening even more frequently while I'm browsing, but I might not know it because I'm merely reading what's on the screen.
This is a list from Activity Monitor of what I'm using right now, which is very typical of what I use all day:

  • IPhone 6, iphone 5S, iphone 5C freezing and crashing in iOS 8.1.2-8.1.3

ive got 3 phones and they all exhibit the same behavior. mostly when opening an apple app the phone will freeze- especially the phone app. It took an hour befote I could access the key pad to dial apple to try and get my iPhone 6 that I bought yesterday replaced.
All three phones do the same thing: Apple apps crash or freeze, sometimes will go back to normal, sometimes have to restart the phone. It's worse on the iPhone 6.
On the iPhone 6 all Apple apps function about 30% of the time. Third party apps seem fine but anything related to the system cannot work. Several resets and restores later it's still the same.
IMessage asks me me every few minutes to log in as well.
i have never had such a negative experience with a phone before- calling and text messaging is impossible. even after the latest restore it froze on the iCloud login page for 10 minutes.
IMia this a software bug or hardware. All I could get from calling service is "I don't know, it's a new one for me."

Jeez, the keyboard lags behind so much and the keys seem offset

  • Acrobat Pro XI Mac 11.0.10 freezes every time I open a document

Every time I open a document in Acrobat XI Pro 11.0.10, the app freezes with a spinning beach ball. Beach ball will go for 10 minutes plus before I can't stand it and force quit. I am using Macbook Pro 15 Retina with Mavericks (OSX 10.9.5). The same document opens without issues under Windows 7 Acrobat Pro XI. I have disabled enhanced security and upgraded form 11.0.7 without any change in behavior. I have also un-installed and re-installed Acrobat from a fresh download off the internet.
I am getting ready to ask for my $$ back!!  This is ridiculous, Acrobat is completely unusable under Mac.

    Hi David ,
I would request you to refer to the below mentioned link and check how it goes.

  • Windows 8.1 & server2012R2 both crash or freeze on this machine

    Hi there
I have this weird problem with this machine.
    An assus laptop, i5 4Gb ram with a wifi card from intel "Intel(R) Centrino(R) Advanced-N 6250 AGN"
For work i had installed in it server2012R2 cause i needed a server on the go for testing purposes.
The problem was that it was not stable , it would BSOD and reboot of completely freeze and only respond to a forced power off(permanent press of the power button).
This was completely random, and whats weird it would happen on the same locations (3 different labs) while never happen on the other 2 labs.
When the system crashed or freezes once it was impossible to use the machine because it would freeze again on the first 1-2 minutes of the next boot.
I tried safe mode and the system didn't suffer from none of this issues. So its a driver problem most probably.
I tried safe mode with networking and the system freezed once again. So it is network drivers problem most probably.
On the lab where i connected through ethernet this did not happen. Crashes happened only when i was connected on wifi or even when i was not connected at all (on the next reboots it would freeze instantly once on the desktop and i did not have time to connect
    to wifi at all).
All the drivers are up to date, specially the wifi ones intel has released a newer(v. 15.10.4.2) one and even with that the problem persists(windows update has version 15.10.0.12 for the wifi driver).
So i thought it was a problem caused by some kind of incompatibility with the server kernel.
Got another machine for the server system.
On the assus machine i then installed win 8.1 , did all the updates and installed all the drivers.
Since here fine working for 2 days, but as soon as i got in one of the labs(where i had the issue with the server2012R2) after 15min if crashed with a bsod this time.It did save a crash dump and a memory dump. All next reboots the system freezes after 30sec
    to 2 min.
I opened the Memory.dmp on win debugger and through the lines something like this was shown

So can you guys understand anything from all this? Is the wifi driver the real problem here?
I can upload the memory dump and the minidump if you want.Even viewer shows nothing is all cases ,even though if you want to have a look at them i can uplaod that too.
    Thanks in advance

    Hi,
has the OS on this machine been cloned at any time? We have experienced strange behavior recently with some VMs, here it wasn't cloned, but the MAC address was the same on another VM from another server.
I could imagine, that an identical MAC address on WIFI adapters could cause some confusion also resulting in crashes.
Or there is an electrical device, power supply what ever sending signals which disturb the WIFI adapter in your machine. Would it run stable if you change the room or the location in the room to a place as far as possible from the one you are using now?
This is now crystal ball science and hard to track down.
    Best greetings from Germany
    Olaf
    Hi Olaf
No, both the server 2012r2 and win8.1 were clean installs. And i can eliminate the possibility of an electromagnetic interference because this thing is happening is many different location totally unrelated to each other.(it would crash even in places with
a single Access Point and nothing else around).
Today it crashed once again when i tried to connect at my phone tethering Access Point. This time with a  bsod and it saved a dump so i'm uploading this too. After the crash it did freeze on the next reboot.
The dump says it was Netio.sys this time

On the second reboot i connected a wired cable to the ethernet adapter(it connects to a lan network) and then connected by Wireless to the Access Point and magically it did not freeze.
Before this crash i had applied all the steps Yolanda suggested in the previous post but as you can see they gave no results.
Dumps are still being uploaded. As soon as they finish i'll post the links here.
