Freeze between the end of a timeline and a menu with video.

Hi,
I have a timeline with some content advisor in the beginning of my encore cs3 project, then redirects to another timeline with a segment of a video, after that it redirects to the menu with another video (that video is the continuation of the previous one, and it is where the fusion occurs.)
The problem is that after redirect to the menu, it freezes for 2 secs. Is there any way to avoid that freeze? Or at least smooth it?

I understood almost the entire proccess and the reason you have to turn off the visibility for all menu layers but not how they show up after the loop point.
How?
1. You could export an M2V file from Premiere if you like, but then you'll need to make doubly sure that you have no visible menu layers in Encore, or Encore will render the motion menu and re-transcode your m2v to m2v again. If you used an AVI instead, Encore will transcode it to M2V. Either way, it will end up as M2V on the DVD. The key thing is to avoid re-transcoding.
2. I don't really understand your question. Do you want to somehow use the same PSD file Encore is using as your menu? If so, you'll have to dig in the Sources folder for that. It's really much simpler to export the PSD from Encore and use that. There is no quality loss in doing this, and far less chance of messing up your Encore file structure than if you go digging around in the Sources folder for the original that Encore uses. Just export the menu as a PSD from Encore and use that in Premiere...trust me, I'm a doctor.
3. You do this so that Encore doesn't render your menu Photoshop layers over the first video clip you are using as your menu video background.
* Regarding your last "How?" question...there are no menu layers on a menu when it's written to DVD - a menu is written to disc as an MPEG-2 still file (or in a motion menu case such as yours, an MPEG-2 video file) with a button highlight overlay to show your button selection status.

Is it possible to remove the silence between the end of a track and the beginning of it's B-side?

There are a couple songs I've been unsure of purchasing on iTunes. a couple feature an A side and B side. These songs/tracks will have something of a 4 minute song, with something of a 3+ minute gap of pure silence continuing on with something of a 2+ minute B side. These tracks can be almost 9 minutes of length. I do not mind having both tracks on one file, as you can not find them separately to begin with, however I do mind the large gap in between the tracks. Is there a way I can edit this out within iTunes? By the way, I own a PC, not a Mac and use the most recent iTunes version available on the PC

You know the iTunes store doesn't just record direct from a cassette player?
I seriously doubt the tracks have the silence.
You can adjust start & stop times on tracks, so even if they did have silence you could simply workout when to stop the track. The Get info panel has the details in the 'options' tab.
It may be different for you on Windows, but I'm certain the feature exists, you may ned to look for it ion iTunes 12, this is from 11

Can an AS1/2 swf loaded via Loader class tell the main movie (AS3) that it has run to the end of its timeline?

If I load an external swf:
my_loader.load(new URLRequest("abc.swf"));
addChild(my_loader);
abc.swf starts playing - how do I get it to tell the main movie that it reached the end of its timeline and finished playing? Added bonus: the loaded swf is AS1 and the main movie is AS3. I'm not sure if I could convert the loaded swf to AS3.

Here is what worked for me:
My usb hub, being usb2, was too fast. I moved the wire to a usb port directory on my pc. That is a usb1 port which is slow enough to run your snyc.

Not enough free space on the startup disk can slow the system down.
Right or control click the MacintoshHD icon. Click Get Info. In the Get Info window you will see Capacity and Available. Make sure there's a minimum of 15% free disk space.
For startup issues... open System Preferences > Users & Groups - Login Items. Delete any apps listed there then restart your mac.
And disable the Lion "resume" feature.
Open System Preferences > General
Deselect: Restore windows when quitting and re-opening apps
And Spotlight may be indexing... you can turn that off > Turning Off Spotlight | Mac Tricks And Tips

A significant difference between the metrics captured at Proxy and BS level

          Currently we have following set up for a particular OSB project.
AccountManager
          Interface …… (this has all the schemas and wsdls)
          Services
               AccountManagerProxy… (Proxy service)
               AccountManagerBS … (Business service)
AccountManagerBS – is configured with end point URL to interface with back-end system.
AccountManagerProxy – includes a ‘Route to’ action for linking to AccountManagerBS as given below
The performance monitoring is enabled at AccountManagerProxy and AccountManagerBS level.
Test Scenario: - I am running a simple load test for AccountManager and checking performance metrics from OSB dashboard.
Expected behavior: - The performance metrics at proxy and at BS level should not differ more than few milliseconds (10-50 msec)
Problem Statement: - I am seeing a significant difference (like 40 to 50 seconds) between the metrics captured at proxy and BS level.
     As an example, the number at proxy level is “1 minute 20 seconds” and the number at BS level is ‘500 milliseconds’
     Moreover, this behavior is not consistent. It has started showing this behavior in last few days. The further impact of this is ‘stuck threads’ on webLogic server and hence the high possibility of memory outage. I have already restarted the Admin/managed-1/managed-2 servers couple of times.
Can anyone help me understand and identify the exact problem area for this issue?

does your proxy do any authentication with any 3rd party auth providers ?
Also in proxy service monitoring are you seeing all time at route node ? .. is the business service request type different that the contents of $body before the route? .. there could be some implicit transofmations if yes...

Why is my project freezing at the end of each video demo?

I've created a project with three different video demos. I've done all the editing and have the video slides in the right order, however, each video demo freezes at the end instead of continuing on to the next video demo.

Are you positive that it's not just downloading the next video in the background and that's why it just looks like it's stalled? What happens if you just let it sit there for a minute or two? Does the next slide then start playing?

Yes, that little piece of info is critical. I'd say the biggest difficulty with FCPX is the whole new language.
If I read you correctly, your Audio is in the Main Storyline (Track 1 in plain old Editorese). This makes anything else you add (above or below) a "connected clip", which we can no longer think of as "Track 2" because Jobs sez so. So, yes, you cannot just add a transition to either end of a connected clip.
No argument with Tracy's solution, because I haven't seen any other general solution presented for any attempt to treat connected clips as the main storyline. And, of course, when they were "track 1" and "track 2", you could.
An alternative solution, however, is to highlight the connected clip and press Ctrl-V to bring up the Video Animation Editor. Click the "reveal button" for Compositing: Opacity (bottom, right). Once open, there is a "fade handle" to the right top. Drag it left for however much fade you wish. (there is one on the left as well, but you were only talking about a fade-out.)
A second alternative, perhaps for future projects where everything keys on audio, may be to create a Gap clip (used to be called slug) in the primary storyline before ever dropping in the audio. Then you can add video to the main story line and modify it without having to go thru hoops to do the simplest thing.

I have a blank area at the end of my timeline

I have just cut a 20 min movie to a 13 min movie and at the end of my timeline is apprx. 3 min of nothing. The movie also stalls uot while I am playing it, stills up and continues playing. I also have several photo clips from photo shop inserted.
When I share with idvd, the audio is not there.
I did add new music that is an mpeg3, but the movie audio is not there either? Any ideas. I need to burn by DVD's today.

Difference between the design of clusters PCLx and others like RFBLG etc .

There are a few nagging questions which I was not able to find in the forum hence i have to post a new question.
I am a little confused about the difference between the different clusters .
If i start with RFBLG i.e. the cluster for BSEG BSEC etc ,I can see that the tables which are part of this cluster
can be viewed through different methods like
1) whr usd list for RFBLG
2) dd02l table and give the required parameters there
now when I compare this with another so-called cluster PCL1 if find that PCL1 is not recognized as a cluster
and also I am not able to see the same in dd02l table when i give PCL1 and the tabtype as cluster which I was able to see
for the RFBLG ,there are other tables similar to RFBLG .
1) SO what is the difference between the RFBLG type of clusters and the PCLx type of cluster
2) are pclx and rfblg..type of clusters same ?
3) why does PCL1 shows that it is a transparent table ? where as rfblg shows in a diff way in se11
4) i know we access data from PCL1 using import and export stmts ,DO OR CAN WE DO THE SAME FOR RFBLG
5) I found that each and evry cluster table had diff fields ,this was kinda surprising for me as I had been thinking
that all cluster tables need to follow a certain rule ,SO WHO DECIDES THE FIELDS OF A TABLE CLUSTER ?
6) PCL1 has the index button enabled ,which again I think is not according to the cluster table rules?how?
7) I understand that we can save data in form of internal tables in the PCL1 cluster ,can we do the same in RFBLG ?

I know this is a long list but I am sure that answers to these questions would really require some one who has really really work hard and invested a lot of time in understanding the dictionary system.I am awaiting a few answers ,few hints and a healthy discussion till we get them .

BSEG is a typical Cluster Table.
This means that the physical table BSEG does NOT exist in the database, physical data for BSEG is stored in the database (table) cluster RFBLG.
In ABAP however you can perform selects on BSEG (with all fields from the SAP repository structure, see SE11 on BSEG), during execution the SAP database layer will translate these statements to physical selects in the RFBLG database table, so in ABAP this is transparant.

PCL1, PCL2, ... are normal SAP transparent tables, however in HR they are often called HR cluster table.
Transparent tables are SAP objects where there is also a database table with the same name that contains the physical data.
However the PCL tables are somewhat different from normal transparent tables (data is compressed, external programs can not interpret the data, ...).
This means that in ABAP you can not use simple SQL statements to access data in PCL tables (because of compressed format).
In stead statements like EXPORT TO DATABASE and IMPORT FROM DATABASE need to be used.

I have the same issue with ATV3 and iPhone 4S. Everything works properly, no buffering issues when watching netflix, vimeo, youtube BUT when I try mirroring even a small 15sec iPhone movie it stutters and buffers and results to a choppy playback..same with larger mp4 files such as 1-1.5GB, buffers forever and never plays, I just re-encoded the same movie to 700MB and plays perfectly..
Why Apple, why?..so close..I can accept the bigger movie files issue, but not being able to playback properly an iPhone movie is funny..I recorded a movie with lower bitrate through Filmic Pro (Economy mode, up to 16Mbps)
and plays properly.
Is there an upcoming software update going to solve the problem or is it hardware related and therefore not fixable.
Please don't reply with a network related answer, by 2012 we know how to set up our networks and everything else runs flawlessly.
I'll apreciate a fast answer, we love Apple, but if it can't play an iphone movie (or a high quality movie from iTunes) it's just not up to my standards.

I need to know the differences between the "Adobe Acrobat Versions 7 and 9". I have worked with Acrobat 7 and have used the same script after installing Acrobat 9 for Automation Testing with QTP for validating pdf. The object "AcroExch.AVDoc" is not getting identified as object while working in QTP in the system/machine which has Acrobat 9 installed, whereas it works well in the machine which has Acrobat 7 installed . So it will be better if two things are known as per my understanding, ie.,
it must have compatibility issue (i need the difference between "Adobe Acrobat versions 7 & 9" to assure this) or
installation issue( which can be confirmed if the former question is answered).
So i kindly request you to help me out for this scenario.

Countless new features were introduced between Acrobat 7 and 9, are you really expecting us to type out a full list from memory?
If you are having specific issues with the Acrobat SDK, first refer to the Acrobat SDK for the higher version. If there remains an issue I suggest posting about the specific problem in the Acrobat SDK forum, rather than asking for an encylopedia of all possible information...
Note that Adobe do not support multiple installations of Acrobat on the same machine, so you can expect development issues if you do this.
