FREEZE every 5min/Central London

Hi there,
Here is my problem,
I just moved in a new flat clother to central London and since I am in this flat my connection is horrible.
I did some speedtests and the connection is good 15Mbps Upload and 1.5Mpbs download.
I check with the BT engine aswell and I got the same result.
The problem is when I am playing or uploading big files.
When I am playing I have freezes of 10sec every 2min.
On all the devices connected to the box its written "CONNECTION UNSTABLE".
I tried to disconnect every device and let only my computer plugged to the box but no changes.
On my previous flat everything was perfect, nice connection zero disconnection, zero freeze etc...
I tried different things that I have been reading on the forum but nothing changed.
I have the BT hub 3.
I would really appreciate if someone could help me as I am working from home and I have lot of files to send everyday.

in order for the forum members to help please can you post the adsl stats from your router you may need to 'show detail' to get all stats (if hub enter 192.168.1.254 in your browser and navigate to adsl or if HH4/5 then go to troubleshooting then logs and you are looking for 2 line together when hub last connected to internet and they will show your connection speed and noise margin or if netgear enter 192.168.0.1). Then run btspeedtester (MAC users may have problems). when first test completes then run diagnostic test and post the results ( do not reset the router).
are you connected directly via a filter to the NTE5 master or test socket or to somewhere else? Is the master the only phone socket in your home?
are you using wireless or wired conenction? if wireless have you tried wired to see if improves things?
Have you tried the quiet line test? - dial 17070 option 2 - should hear nothing - best done with a corded phone. if cordless phone you may hear a 'dull hum' which is normal

My macbook pro freezes every few seconds

About a week ago my MBP started freezing every few seconds showing the well known spinning beach balls every time, even when running no apps, I've sepnt plenty of time looking for a solution, I've read this problem might be due to a physically damaged hard drive, bt I've tested it several times using different apps and it shows no error, I've read from another discussion about Etrecheck as a useful app to quickly gather certain system information that may help point to a cause of this problem, so I hope some of you guys can help me checking the log output. None if these crash reports seem to have been send.
Do you have crash reports with a "bp-" prefix that were submitted and that show a crashing thread?
Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode|Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).
*Do not click the Reset button on the Safe mode start window or otherwise make changes.

Crystal Reports freezes every time I try to open a report.

Crystal Reports freezes every time I try to open a report. I feel like it has something to do with trying to locate the default printer, but Im not certain. Crystal Reports opens just fine,but the moment I try to open any report it just hangs. Please help!

My problem is very similar to this person's. I have 2 laptops with CR XI installed (same problem from original R2 through SP 5). The old laptop is an IBM Thinkpad R51. The new one is an HP Elitebook 6930p. Both have the exact same software and versions of Win XP and network security.
If I try to open a report that has an "invalid printer" selected, it will open in the old IBM (with the message, 'This report uses an invalid printer. The default printer will be used instead'), but on the new HP, it freezes and I have to do a CtlAltDel to get out.
I've tried everything Don Williams suggested, but the only thing that is logged in Admin Tools when this happens is a Security/Privilege Request" with no errors.
Clearly, when CR in the HP looks for the printer selected in the report and doesn't find it, that causes CR to freeze.
Any idea what difference between the 2 machines could cause this?
This is a royal pain, because I can only be on one computer at a time.

Firefox freezes every few minutes for a few seconds.

Firefox keeps freezing every few minutes, for a few seconds at a time. It's infuriating. It just happened right now while I was typing "infuriating". It's happened since I installed the Facebook Video Chat Plug-In, but I uninstalled that and it keeps happening.

Probably an over active security or "cleaning" program that's kicking in every few minutes and messing with Firefox.

My apple ipod classic 80gb says there is no music - anything on my ipod, but says it only has 37gb free. Then i try and plug it into my pc with iTunes on (i've set it to do not automatically sync devices) but it still freezes every time. can't restore.

Then i try and plug it into my pc with iTunes on (i've set it to do not automatically sync devices) but it still freezes every time. the only way to unfreeze it is by detatching the ipod or resetting with menu/centre (until it loads up again, where it immediately unfreezes and comes up with a load of messages saying "cannot read iPod" and when i try and restore it by pressing menu/centre button while it's plugged in, it says "cannot restore as it is being used by another program" or "error 1415". Any ideas how to sort this out? hope i haven't majorly screwed it up. thanks.

Sorted it out. Crash and restart every 5mins

I have an ipad3 16gb wifi + 3G
About a week ago it started giving a bizare crash/restart problem.
Approx every 5mins, there's a black 'wipe' from left to right on the screen (takes about 1.5seconds).
Then the screen goes blank and restarts wtih apple logo, and is normal for about another 5minutes.
Eventually, I tried doing a full restore in Itunes, the screen shows it progressing through the status bar while it restores the firmware...
And then gives this error:
"The ipad could not be restored. An unknown error occured. (-1).
Anyone know what a -1 error is?

Not normal. Take it to an Apple Store for evaluation.

MacBook Pro 15" Late 2013 freeze every hour at the same time

My MacBook Pro 15" Late 2013 Retina freeze every hour at the very same time. Before every freeze in console i see something like this:

I have 512GB SSD Drive which has 2 partitions. One for Mac OS X 10.9.4 (13E28) one for Windows 8 (which I'm not using) also I have Parallel Desktop App which I use once a month. Also I'm using TimeMachine + external HDD (do backups once in 2 weeks).
Everything was ok for 4 month. A month ago I've start experiencing freezes 1-2 a day and now it became worse, every hour. I've try to repair disk permissions, repair disk. Does anyone know how to fix this issue?
I read in one of the website that some people fixed this issue updating ssd firmware. But I'm not sure where to get firmware for my ssd.

There are two options, keep the Time Machine HDD connected full time or turn Time Machine off and on only when you want to make the backup.

Droid Razr freezes EVERY TIME I do anything...ongoing problem for 9 months!

My Droid freezes every day. It has done this since I got it "new" under my warranty when the previous TWO phones of the same model did the exact same thing. They all freeze up daily. I usually cannot even answer the phone or make calls. Checking email or using the internet can take in excess of 10 minutes! I'm not exaggerating. This phone is so unresponsive that I am cancelling my Verizon account and moving to a new brand and provider.
So my question, "Which phone and provider has proven to actually work for you?"
I've tried and enjoyed the stability of Blackberry before making the poor decision to switch to Verizon.

We definitely do not want to see you leave the VZW family, mobilephonesneverwork. Since all three phones have reacted the same way, have you ever tried running the devices stock, without any added applications from the Play Store? There very well may be an application that may be the cause of a lot these repeated issues. Photoshop elements 13 FREEZING every time with Mac OS X Yosemite

Just purchased Photoshop elements 13, upgrading from version 10. 10 was running slow in editor so I thought the latest version would be faster but not only is it slower & stickier but I can not open the organizer. It freezes every time & I can not see my catalog pics. A few pics load & the rest are question marks or sand timer.....Then it freezes completely & I can not do anything until I force quit. I've tried most of the trouble shooting listed but NOTHING is working!! Please HELP!!!! So frustrating!!!!

Do you have gfxCardStatus installed? Is your monitor set to "Integrated" or "Discrete". You want it set to Discrete to drive the external HDMI display.

Are you sure you have a good miniDisplayPort to HDMI cable?
Do you have another HDMI display you can test against (your neighbor's HDMI capable TV).
Do you have friend that can test the cable using their Mac and maybe their TV or a monitor that has HDMI input.

Mac keeps freezing every 15minutes even when re-installing of OS

I tend to have this issue after I've updated my latest OS to 10.4.11... My mac has the tendency to freeze every 15-20minutes... After checking my hardware realising that it's still in good working condition, I downloaded main menu to do a clean up... It has more or less fix the problem but it comes back after I updated my Safari browser...
Unknowingly what's the underlying cause, I decided to re-install the OS... The more frustrating thing is that it hangs even when I re-installed the OS, approximately about 15 minutes before the entire set-up is done... I've no choice but to restart my mac.. But not it seems I can't really boot it as it even hangs during start up...
Really at wit's ends... Can anyone help??

No problem at all.. But really thanks for your advice which I think it might be the case...
My mac is the very first G4 batch and it's about coming to 5 years old... My harddisk crashed 2 years back and had sent it for a replacement from a 30GB to a current 120GB HD... I do face initial software problems after the fix and I got it back again and the technician install my mac with his Tiger installation disc instead on what's my initial package comes with... It worked fine subsequently for the next 2 years till recently, especially I've not been using my mac for months, the hanging issue came... Frustrating as it is, I had thought it's due to the upgrading of the OS and security measures that's too taxing for my current hardware... But now since you mentioned about the additional hardware problem that any hardware software can't detect, I'd think it stands a pretty high chance since I had once had my harddisk replaced and my mac being too old and wear and tear could be a problem...
I had managed to do an Erase and Install the OS last night despite after several hanging sessions during the reinstallation program... I've updated my OS to the latest 10.4.11 with security added... Right now my mac appears to look fine after operating for several hours of software updating, reinstalling of all my other applications as well as moving my back-up files back to the system... I hope after all these, the hanging issue won't persists though I have this feel that it might not be fully resolve and my sister is saying that I should get a new mac with extra huge space RAM and processor to suit an extra huge consumer like me...
Well, for now I just have to KIV and I hope this current mac of mine can stay on till I get a new mac...

It's not a virus, or any other kind of malware.
Most likely, you've got a problem with the Flash Player software. First, download and run the Flash uninstaller for Mac OS X 10.6 and up:
uninstall_flash_player_osx.dmg
Then, download and install a fresh copy:

by the way, you can also try to safe boot up your mac for safe mode. maybe it can work and you can deal with problem there.
for safe boot:
Press the power button.
Immediately after you hear the startup tone, hold the Shift key. The Shift key should be held as soon as possible after the startup tone, but not before the tone.
Release the Shift key when you see the gray Apple icon and the progress indicator (looks like a spinning gear).
