Freezes after setting ISO in camera app

The phone freezes after the following:
1. Set ISO to 800 in manual mode click a picture or two.
2. See the images from preview panel in camera app(touch bottom right of image)
3. Get back to camera.
The only way to get back is to restart the phone using hard keys.

Last thing you can try, repair your phone with SUS or PCC and stay away from taskillers, task managers, antivirus, ram apps, booster apps, etc

  • Pc freezes after setting on chip ata device to raid mode

Hi, I have an msi x58a-gd65 MB. I built this pc myself, but have a limited knowledge when it comes to figuring out problems. I have windows 7 installed and everything works on a single hdd. I now however want to set up a raid 1 hdd config. the MB supports raid 0/1/5/10.
So I followed the instructions msi provides in a youtube video, but when the pc restarts it freezes. I cant even access the bios so I have to clear the cmos.
The sequence I follow is as follows (I have tried the following with 2 same size hdd's attached and not attached (customer service told me to try setting it to raid with no hdd attached))
    1)enter bios
2)check the boot sequence (hdd's are detected, when attached)
    3)enter on-chip ATA Devices
    4)Set raid mode to raid
    5)save and exit
at this point, the pc restarts and after the msi logo appears, it freezes.
I had two internal pci cards attached, a usb 3.0 and an ide connector.
I have tried setting the MB to raid with the pci cards attached and not attached, same problem exists.
I have the latest version of bios installed, I downloaded from live update.
I was able to enter the raid utility before when I had considered a raid option but I didnt proceed with it. I had an older version of bios at that time.
I would appreciate any help please.

Quote from: xmad on 26-February-13, 01:56:13
    Attached is version M46(Beta)
They apparently had some troubles with the version of the raid rom on the full release and this version has version 8.5.0.1030
    >>Use the MSI HQ Forum USB flasher<<
Option 2 and point it directly at the bios file then to your fat32 formatted usb stick.
When the tool is complete, boot to the usb and follow the directions.
Let me know how it goes.
    Thanks
Ok, here's what has happened so far,
I have put the new bios,m46,on a USB. When I enter the bios, I can save the old bios on the USB and I can also boot the new bios,m46,but when I try to update the bios,I can't find the bios file.
When I just boot the m46 bios I do get the raid utility option so that part seems to be sorted, now I just need to find a way to update the bios.
Thanks for your help so far Xmad

  • Classic freezes after opening a Microsoft osX app

I'm still running Quark 5 under classic (classic boots on startup and quark is a startup item) and if I then open a Microsoft App in X and click back on Quark all I get is the spinning watch icon. (I think this has only started happening since upgrading to 10.3.9)
If a force quit Quark and restart it it then freezes on startup. Force quiting classic and thus restarting both solves the problem. Subsequently restarting any Microsoft apps doesn't affect freeze classic it only happens on the first run of the program.
I have turned off all Microsoft extensions in classic incase there was a conflict but to no avail. I have also slimmed down classic to the bear minimum for Quark to print and work with Suitcase.
    Has anybody experienced this before?
(Machine spec is G41gz 1.25gb ram)

Please be very clear it does not "boots classic into osX…" when you log in, or at any other time and although of course that makes no difference to anything when all is well, at times like this thinking like that can make solutions much harder to find.
OS 9 is an old operating system. OS X is a new operating system. Either of them can boot older Macs, and they behave very, very differently.
Classic is not an operating system and it cannot boot anything. Classic is an "environment" - if you like, an emulator or interpreter - which allows a cut-down version of OS 9 to run on top of X so that newer Macs which can't boot in 9 can still run applications meant for 9.
When you hit problems, that matters for two reasons. Firstly, 9 in Classic behaves very differently to pure, bootable 9 and secondly, since 9 in Classic is running on top of X, all kinds of extra things from X might be contributing to the problem.
Provided you can find the disks, reloading Classic on an X Mac should take a lot less than the 20-odd minutes you might need to re-load pure bootable 9 on an older Mac.
Distiller should not come into the sequence "classic boots on startup and quark is a startup item) and if I then open a Microsoft App in X and click back on Quark all I get is the spinning watch icon…"
If "word always seemed to pause for too long on start up during "optimising the font menu" (or whatever the wording is in the splash box)…" are you saying that behaviour is now different? What, that Word no longer pauses but now immediately freezes, or something?
That would tend to suggests a Word or Office, rather than a System problem.
Either way, if it wa my Mac I'd first disable all the Startup Items in both X and 9, and see what happens when weverything is launched manually, in different sequences.
To disable Classic or pure 9 Startup Items, move the Starup Items folder from inside System Folder onto the Desktop.
To disable X Startup Items - helpfully renamed Login Items as the thinking is different - take them off the list in System Preferences>Accounts>(your account name)>Login Items.
With all those items disabled, Restart and manually launch, say, Word. What happens this time?

My problem is, if I use rear camera on iPhone 4G, then the macbook is full freezing.
Only what I can do, I need push power button
I looked forward OSX 10.6.5 and iOS 4.2.1 but nothing happened.
I switched off/on facetime, restarted mobile, but nothing happened.

  • After update to iOS 7, front camera and microphone in Camera Apps stopped working on my iPhone 4S

Hello, I have a problem with my iPhone 4S. I am no longer under warranty.. I am pretty sure this happened after iOS 7 update, both of the problems, so I think this is software issue. First I noticed that after switching to front camera, app freezes. And after some time, I found out that when I capture video, there´s just some constatnt noise in background, however microphone works fine in calls, skype or just when i record sound.
I tried restart, delete settings and stuff like that. Is there anything I cant try to do? Thanks and I hope some future update will fix this..

One last try might be connecting in DFU mode, explained in this thread by Wjosten, and set it up as new device after that.
If this fails as well, you'll have to visit an Apple Store next to your place to get it checked or contact Apple support to get it serviced.

  • Missing Camera App in Ipad2

I seem to have deleted my Camera App from my Ipad 2.  Restrictions are not enabled so that is not the problem.  I tried resetting the Home Screen, but I still do not see the Camera App.  I had it in a Folder with a few other apps called "Photography".  Does anyone know where it is?
An additional puzzle is that my Photos app no longer shows an album for "Photo Album", where photos/video taken with the Camera App are typically stored.
    Appreicate the help, thanks!

I had the same problem that my camera apps were missing on my IPad2 after setting up my Google Apps for Business Mail account using Exchange. As per the above post it had to do with restrictions set on the Google Apps server not the device itself. As the administrator for the Google Apps account you need to go to your domain settings and then to service settings and select mobile from the list. Under the restrictions section you need to check the 'Allow Camera' box and then save changes. On the ipad you can try refreshing your mail or turning the account off and the on again and everything should work.

  • Camera app freezes when moving iPhone 4s after upgrading to iOS 8

    Hi,
After upgrading my 4s to iOS 8.0.2 (I updated directly to 8.0.2 from iOS 7), after launching the camera app and moving the phone the camera freezes for a few seconds and then it works again.
I have restarted the phone and I don't know what else to do.
My camera was working fine when i was still on iOS 7.
Anybody else facing similar problems, if so, have you found a solution yet. thanks

I have the EXACT same issue on my wife's 64GB iphone 4S. I took it to the Apple Store in Roosevelt Field, NY and the genius said there is nothing they can do. They said it was my fault for downloading iOS 8 and that the software brought to life a hardware problem that is not covered under warranty. He said that I was not required to upgrade to iOS8 and wanted me to pay $199 for a replacement.
So Apple wants me to pay to resolve an issue THEY caused. I hate Apple now. The iphone 4S worked perfectly under iOS 7.
Thanks Apple for the worst customer service experience ever. You've proven that when you have a product that everyone wants you can afford to treat your customers like ****.

Everything's OK when I using rear cam, but just freeze and blurred on screen while switched to the front cam. And have to resetting to go back to rear cam. My iPhone4's camera itself, rear and front, are in good performance before. And I've tried anything such as reset, hard reset, restoring, setting up as new device, etc, without any result since then. If some people say it was about hardware issued, I thing so weird because too many same hardware problems coincident happened at the same moment. So I just only hope the Apple will listening and solving all problems wisely. Thanks b4.

So I got the iPad 2 last Wednesday and tried facetime. It seemed to work then froze, but I gave up as it was still new and I was still figuring things out. Anyway i'd use the camera a few times (maybe 3) and made maybe 2 quick videos, nothing big. I never use the camera much. Today I went to videotape my nephew and clicked the camera screen, but it wouldnt leave the shutter screen. If i restore it to default, it works. But as soon as I sync my iPad up so it restores all my settings, the camera freezes. Obviously facetime and photobooth don't load either.
I think a few people have this issue, what was the resolution? if i take it to apple will they give me a new one on the spot or send it in for repairs, and im without it for a while?

    Welcome to the Apple Discussions!
If when you restore the iPad to the factory settings the camera works, then there is nothing wrong with the iPad, you have something corrupt in the backup that you are using to restore your previous settings. I would delete the backup and start fresh. Go to iTunes/Preferences/Devices and delete any and all backups there for the iPad.
Then configure and sync the iPad as if it were new from the box for the first time.

Deleting my backups and starting fresh kinda *****. I'd rather not have to re-do all my settings like email and my apps. Its not that i have a lot of apps, maybe 5 or so I use, but still, its a bit of a pain. I guess I can TRY it... can't hurt right...
I dont want to just delete my backups though, i'll store them somewhere else (i think i remember where apple stores them) and copy them over later if i need to.
Worth a shot, better this then my iPhone which has a ton of apps I use for work. Im still setting the iPad up for my work stuff. Will let you know how i make out.
BTW the home/power reset didnt work, ive obviously tried this many times, and just now while writing this. Same issues.

  • IPhone 4 'Searching...' / 'No Signal' + default Camera app freezing/pixelated

    Hey everyone!
I recently (26th August) had my iPhone replaced by Apple due to water damage, when I got the new iPhone home everything was fine for around an hour until the signal dropped of and just displayed 'Searching...' or 'No Signal'
I assumed it may have been the sim as that was also slightly damaged, so I ordered a new sim from O2 and had it activated when it arrived, this didn't work, the phone still displayed the same messages and O2 said it may have been a bad sim card so they sent another one...same problem when that arrived also, by now I was getting angry with O2 as I had been without network service for almost a week(now over a week)
I restored the phone and chose to set up as a new iPhone, to see if that changed anything, it didn't so I restored back to my backup.
Today (5th Sep) I was due to go to an Apple Genius Bar appointment about the phone so in the hope that they would again replace the iPhone, I restored it to as new so none of my details were on the device, when the restore was finished the network suddenly started to work again and I started to receive 3 weeks worth of text's.
All seemed to be working fine, so I decided to log in and cancel the genius appointment, but now, almost exactly as when I first got the replacement, the signal has again dropped off and is now displaying the same 'Searching...' / 'No Signal messages.
Have I been given a duff replacement or is this some kind of software problem?
My other problem with the camera...
I was at the Paralympics on Sunday (2nd Sep) and wanted to take photo's and videos with the new replacement iPhone, I had had no problems with the camera up until that day, but for some reason the default camera app suddenly kept freezing after every photo I took, displayed all the photos as pixelated and was crashing all the time so it was pretty much unusable.
    What could be the problem?
    Many thanks, Dan!

    Hi Patrick.mc,
Did you end up fixing this issue? I had  IOS7.0.4 and first encountered this problem yesterday (TPG Australia) and it's really frustrating. Backed up the phone, erased/reset the phone and it went away (although the "cellular settings" now read "mobile settings") at Apple Genius Bar. They also replaced the battery and in the process, realized there were other problem with the phone so they gave me a new one as it is still under warranty. However, I then updated the software of the new phone to IOS7.1.1 and restored it from my backup. THE PROBLEM CAME BACK! ON THE NEW PHONE! The cellular settings is now mobile settings. Signal keeps dropping out and can never open the cellular settings. It just keeps crashing to Springboard.
I ended up resetting the new phone, and just do a partial restore (manually transfer the photos back to the phone etc) and reinstalling apps back manually. Lost all other minor stuff. Let me know if anyone out there is encountering this.

  • Safari, Quicken Essentials, other apps freezing after installing Maveric

Okay, I installed OS X 10.9 when it first came out.  Then started having issues with apps freezing, like Safari, Quicken Essentials and other apps.   I noticed this only after installing Maverick.   The only time the freeze would go away, would be after re-starting.    Then, it seemed the app would freeze again ONLY after I have been away from the computer for a while (maybe screen saver mode causes this issue?).   After not being able to figure it out, I un-installed Maverick and went back with TimeMachine and stayed away from Maverick thinking the issue would get fixed and letting bugs go by.  I just re-installed Maverick a few days ago and the issue is still there.  So, before I un-intsall again, I figured I would check here for any fix or if anyone else was having the same issue.
Example would be, as soon as you try to open the app, it immediately freezes and you get the round twirling circle that goes on indefintely.    The only time it will work, is after you re-start and then you can open it up.  If I leave the computer un-attended for a few hours and then come back, freezing happens again.   Not all apps act this way.  FireFox seems to have no issues.
Anyone else having this issue and if so, have you found a resolution?

No. Using CleanMyMac2 can result in deleting required system components that must not be deleted, and cannot be deleted using normal means. Reports of misery resulting from using it or similar "cleaning" utilities are common on this site. You should demand your money back.
OS X maintains itself very well. Periodic "cleaning" is not required and can only result in degraded performance at best; a corrupted and useless Mac at worst. The perceived need for aftermarket utilities is probably attributable to many new Mac users who became inured to them after years of using Windows PCs.
Though Norton / Symantec's garbage has a different purpose, it is capable of doing nothing beneficial will also cause the same results.
A much better question is "how should I protect my Mac":
Never install any product that claims to "speed up", "clean up", "optimize", or "accelerate" your Mac. Without exception, they will do the opposite.
Never install pirated or "cracked" software, software obtained from dubious websites, or other questionable sources. Illegally obtained software is almost certain to contain malware.
Don’t supply your password in response to a popup window requesting it, unless you know what it is and the reason your credentials are required.
Don’t open email attachments from email addresses that you do not recognize, or click links contained in an email:
Most of these are scams that direct you to fraudulent sites that attempt to convince you to disclose personal information.
Such "phishing" attempts are the 21st century equivalent of a social exploit that has existed since the dawn of civilization. Don’t fall for it.
Apple will never ask you to reveal personal information in an email. If you receive an unexpected email from Apple saying your account will be closed unless you take immediate action, just ignore it. If your iTunes or App Store account becomes disabled for valid reasons, you will know when you try to buy something or log in to this support site, and are unable to.
Don’t install browser extensions unless you understand their purpose. Go to the Safari menu > Preferences > Extensions. If you see any extensions that you do not recognize or understand, simply click the Uninstall button and they will be gone.
Don’t install Java unless you are certain that you need it:
Java, a non-Apple product, is a potential vector for malware. If you are required to use Java, be mindful of that possibility.
Disable Java in Safari > Preferences > Security.
Despite its name JavaScript is unrelated to Java. No malware can infect your Mac through JavaScript. It’s OK to leave it enabled.
Block browser popups: Safari menu > Preferences > Security > and check "Block popup windows":
Popup windows are useful and required for some websites, but popups have devolved to become a common means to deliver targeted advertising that you probably do not want.
Popups themselves cannot infect your Mac, but many contain resource-hungry code that will slow down Internet browsing.
If you ever see a popup indicating it detected registry errors, that your Mac is infected with some ick, or that you won some prize, it is 100% fraudulent. Ignore it.
Ignore hyperventilating popular media outlets that thrive by promoting fear and discord with entertainment products arrogantly presented as "news". Learn what real threats actually exist and how to arm yourself against them:
The most serious threat to your data security is phishing. To date, most of these attempts have been pathetic and are easily recognized, but that is likely to change in the future as criminals become more clever.
OS X viruses do not exist, but intentionally malicious or poorly written code, created by either nefarious or inept individuals, is nothing new.
Never install something without first knowing what it is, what it does, how it works, and how to get rid of it when you don’t want it any more.
If you elect to use "anti-virus" software, familiarize yourself with its limitations and potential to cause adverse effects, and apply the principle immediately preceding this one.
Most such utilities will only slow down and destabilize your Mac while they look for viruses that do not exist, conveying no benefit whatsoever - other than to make you "feel good" about security, when you should actually be exercising sound judgment, derived from accurate knowledge, based on verifiable facts.
Do install updates from Apple as they become available. No one knows more about Macs and how to protect them than the company that builds them.
Summary: Use common sense and caution when you use your Mac, just like you would in any social context. There is no product, utility, or magic talisman that can protect you from all the evils of mankind.

  • When opening camera app freezes can't take pictures

when I open the photo booth or camera app it just freezes nothing happens I have done all the updates from apple but still is doing it
    any ideas ?

Try closing the two apps completely : from the home screen (i.e.not with the Photo Booth or Camera apps 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the Photo Booth and Camera apps to close them, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
If that doesn't work then you could try a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.
