Freezing a frame

I'm using the cross zoom effect, to zoom into a person's eye in a picture I placed in Premiere. Now I want it to freeze while zoomed in for a few seconds. I was trying to use Time Remapping, with no success.
I will love to get some help here...
Thanks

You're welcome.
Nested sequences are very powerful, but they can complicate things, so use at your discretion.
Happy editing.

  • How  do i freeze a frame

how do I freeze a frame on iPhoto?

If, as Larry guessed, you're wanting to  get a frame of a movie as an image file you can do that with Quicktime Pro and Quicktime Player 7.  Stop the movie on the frame you want and use the Export ➙ Movie to Picture menu option.
Or, play the movie in QT Player, free on the frame and take a screenshot.

  • Can you freeze a frame in motion?

Can you freeze a frame in motion so that I can use it FCP?

just as an add on the shortcut is Shift+N if you are going to use it alot. Also, when you make the freeze frame, the default duration will be whatever you have specified in your "User Preferences" Window under the "Editing" tab. I think 2 or 3 seconds is the default. If you're doing this alot you might want to be aware that you can change the setting so you don't have to fuss with trimming or expanding each freeze frame.

  • How do i freeze a frame in a movie and hold it for several seconds?

    Hi
I have a clip where someone turns round and gives the 'thumbs up' to the camera - how do i hold this thumbs up position, for several seconds?
Do i need to export a frame and import it back to the timeline or what?
    thanks

Cut the clip in the timeline at the point where you want the "Thumbs Up" to freeze and make sure the playhead is on that frame.
    Then select Modify>Make Freeze Frame.
The freeze-frame will appear in the Viewer.
Click on it and drag it down to the timeline.
You will have to alter its length according to what you want.

  • How do I freeze a frame in a QT mpeg4 file and save as jpeg?

I've been trying to do this with set poster frame in QT 7 and it doesn't work. Or it may be working but I have no idea where it's putting the file.
In QT 10, there is no set poster frame choice. There must be a simple way of doing this, right? If you know, please share!
    Thanx.

Aren't you glad QT 10 is the 'newest' version?
You need to use QT7 that should be now in your utilities folder. Yes, lack of features is actually now a feature at Apple. I wonder what changed behind the scenes so that they had to cripple their flagship audio/video editing app and make people use two applications with the same name.

  • MPlayer: Freeze last frame for presentations

    Hi!
I want to use MPlayer in a presentation (latexbeamer+xpdf) to play some movies. For this purpose, it is annoying that MPlayer automatically closes its window after playing the movie, despite of showing the last frame until I tell it to quit. Having to hit the spacebar in time before the movie ends (but not too far from the end) is obviously not optimal...
Does anyone know of an option to MPlayer that makes it pause at the last frame?
    Greetings

If you've got QT Pro, you can just edit the fade off the exported movie. Select it and hit delete.

  • Freeze Last Frame in slideshow?

I have created a basic slideshow in iPhoto for export to Quicktime (Pro). I would like the last image in the sequence to NOT fade out & remain onscreen until the viewer closes the file. There seem to be individual slide controls in Slidewshow mode, but can't export to Quicktime from Slideshow mode. Can't find a single image setting in main window.
    Thanks in advance for feedback/solutions

  • Imovie11 splitting clips and freeze frame problems

I am having a problem with imovie11 splitting cips and using the freeze frame function.  When I highlight the clip I want split, it splits a different clip either on the line below it or somewhere else in my project!  Also, my freeze frame function freezes the frame where my playhead is BUT doesn't split the clip...so what I'm left with is the entire clip- then the freeze frame - then the continuation after the freeze frame.  Is there a fix for this??

Remove any in or out points you have on the timeline. Place the playhead at the frame on the timeline you want to freeze, and then select Modify > Make Freeze Frame, the freeze should appear instantly in the viewer. You can then click the Overwrite button, and the freeze should now be placed on the timeline in the correct place.
    Is this not happening?

  • Freeze frame in the middle of a clip?

For an instructional DVD, I need to be able to freeze a frame in the middle of a clip, without the sound (as I'll put up some text messages).
I've ended up making copies of the clip, and using the hold condition, and trying to line them all up by hand, but this doesn't seem like an ideal way to do this.
Also, is there an easy way to turn off the sound for the 'hold' part of the end of a clip? Would be nice if there were a boolean I'd overlooked, but I guess I'll have to open my "Spencer's" Motion 4 book, and try to remember how audio keyframing works?

As mentioned by others, it's best to perform this effect in FCP. Bring your Motion project back into FCP and place the playhead where you want to freeze the frame. Press shift/n to create a still image in the Viewer. Blade the clip at the playhead and perform an insert edit to add the freeze frame. Cutting out the audio in FCP is easy as well and there's several ways to go about it. I would simply blade the audio at the freezing point and drag the remainder of the audio to snap to the point where the motion starts up again, depending on the type of audio effect you are looking for.
Although there aren't any behaviors in Motion that affect audio in that fashion (except for Audio fade in/out behavior) you can still edit the audio somewhat in Motion. Just go to the Audio Editor Tab and adjust the levels there or press ⌘6 to reveal the Audio Tab then right click the audio file to duplicate the audio file, set an out point for the first audio clip in the Audio Editor Tab where you want it to freeze, note the frame, and on the duplicated audio file set the in point at the same frame that was set for the first audio clips out point, then place the duplicated audio clip were you'd like the audio to resume.

  • How do I save a freeze frame directly to project bin? Pr CS5 on HP pc

When I freeze a frame, it allows me to change formats-which is great.  But,  I want the path to go directly into the project bin (CS2-the last version I used) did this automatically, or there was a setting set up for that.  Now I have to click import and then import each one.
I am using CS5  Master Collection Student/Teacher addition
Windows 7 on HP Pavillion Elite

It would be great to get that feature back.  Would you submit a feature request (you have to click the link in the above post-from Adobe) or try this: https://www.adobe.com/cfusion/mmform/index.cfm?name=wishform  ?   I did it and it only took a few minutes.  Maybe the more requests sent in, it will be able to be added.
Boxes you need to input: (cut and paste request if ya want)
    Product Name: Adobe Premiere Pro
    Name:
    Email:
    Click Feature Request
    Product Name: Adobe Premiere Pro
    Version: CS5
Feature Request: Please fix the freeze frame feature in CS5.  In older vesions you were allowed to set the path to save the freeze frame directly to the project bin in the current/working project.  It is nice that there is a button for the freeze frame , but the feature to go DIRECTLY to the project bin is gone so we have to take an extra step in editing and import and search and that is a waste of time. Thank you.

  • Possible to make a freeze frame in iMovie09?

In Final Cut Pro there is an option to freeze any frame in your movie turning it to a still shot, which you can adjust the time it displays in the timeline.
Does iMovie 09 have any sort of freeze frame feature? I've looked and looked but can't figure out a way to do it if it can.

    Hello,
Creating a freeze frame is easy. Place the playhead on the image you want to freeze. Right-click and choose "Add Still Frame to Project" from the menu that pops up. If you have a one-button mouse, hold down the Control key and click to get the same menu.
This will create a freeze frame and I believ the defaut is 4 seconds. You can easily change the length to whatever you like.
    Good luck.
    Yours, Marc

  • How to make a freeze frame sequence

    title pretty much says it

I don't know what a freeze frame sequence is. Sounds it is a bunch of freeze frames tied together, or it could be a video that plays for a while and then freezes.
In the first case you might want to try posterize time, which would make a video jump say 10 frames at a time.
In the second case, you would move the CTI (Current Time Indicator) to the point when you want to freeze the frame and then go to Layer > Time > Freeze Frame.
If a freeze frame sequence is something else please give us an accurate description or example.

  • Re freeze frame

In Elements 11 - how do I freeze the last frame of a clip, and then fade to black?
In "Classroon in a Book," it only covers freezing a frame for use elsewhere, not within the clip I'm working on.
    Thanks.
