Freezing and clicking

It seems as though I need to do a complete clean reinstall of Leopard regularly in order to eliminate freezing and clicking..Any help on this problem

If the clicking seems as though it might be coming from your hard drive, back up all your data immediately and start shopping for a new drive — the one you have is failing, and its errors are corrupting or interfering with the work of your OS and causing the freezes.

IMac freezing and clicking.

I'm hoping someone can help or offer some suggestions on a problem I'm having with my iMac.
After not using my Mac for a week, it made a long beeping sound when it was switched on. It then hung at the grey Apple screen for approximately 5 minutes before starting up.
Now it frequently freezes, I get the beach ball regularly when I try to open or close a program and it also makes a clicking sound whenever it is 'stuck' (sounds like a mouse being clicked). I have to force quit programs and wait up to 15 minutes to shut down. It is also unable to play anything through iTunes without sticking
This seems to affect Safari and iTunes mostly, although this could be because they are the most used programs. I've checked activity monitor when this occurs and Safari is up to 170%.
I've repaired permissions and ran repair disk (verify disk found Mackintosh HD was corrupted). Both of these are now reporting as fine. I've done the hardware test, which reported no problems. I'm now a bit stuck.
The machine is less than a year old, should I contact Apple or is this something I can remedy myself?

The way you are describing the issue it sounds like the hard drive has failed or is failing. First backup immediately!!!

If you are covered by AppleCare then immediately contact AppleCare (the number is in your owners manual) and they will try some other diagnostics before authorizing a repair. Of course they will provide instructions for you. If you are not covered by AppleCare then take the machine to your local Apple Store or AASP. Updated iTunes to 10.5, iTunes won't work now! Everytime I open iTunes it just freezes and I can't click on anything. It says to take it out of compatibility mode and still doesn't work! any help??

Okay, we'll try the technique from the following post. Be sure to be logged in to your usual user account when doing so. (Otherwise you'll be editing the wrong set of HKEY_CURRENT_USER keys.)

Sorry, I am new to the type of problem-solution process and I do not know how to edit my first statement. My true statement is below:

I answered your questions below, BUT while I was searching for properties, I found the REPAIR ACROBAT INSTALLATION feature, did the repair and (Voila!) the issue was resolved!

I am using Acrobat XI Pro, version 11.0.10.32.
I did not create the file I was working in during the freezes, so I tried a PDF that I created with Adobe and it also freezes when I click on COMMENT. I did discover that the COMMENTS plug-in is loaded. (see image

I could not find Properties under the file menu, but found a security setting in Preferences under the Edit menu. It did not have a way to allow/disallow COMMENT.

Reset Safari.
Click Safari in the menu bar.
From the drop down select "Reset Safari".
Click "Reset".

Safari > Preference > Advanced
Checkmark the box for "Show Develop menu in menu bar".
Develop menu will appear in the Safari menu bar.

Your Settings app is crashing. Sometimes, the only way to fix this is by restoring the iOS software but hopefully it will not come to that.
1. Quit the app completely and restart the iPad. Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Double tap the home button and the task bar will appear with all of your recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner of the app that you want to close. Tap the home button or anywhere above the task bar. Restart the iPad.
Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
2. Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
3. You can try resetting all settings. Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings. You will have to enter all of your app preferences and device settings again.

I had something similar a couple of week ago, it would scroll then stop, scroll then stop.
At some point the porblem went away.
Try unpowering and restarting your AppleTV. Rsetart iTunes too.

Computer freezing and making clicking noise

Hi,
Every time click Safari, iMovie, or iDvd my computer freezes and starts to make this weird clicking noise (that i think is coming from the top right corner, but I'm not completely sure). Has anyone experience this problem before.

Just these applications? Typically, a clicking noise comes from a failing hard drive. I hate to be the bearer of bad news but you should check this out.

Bluetooth Mouse Pointer and Clicker Freezing

I bought a Genius Navigator Mouse model 905BT and connected to my MacAir 11.6". I noticed that my mouse pointer and clicker froze every 15 seconds. I tried this same mouse connecting to my old Macbook 13 inch (version 10.6.2) and on my Windows Laptop with no problems encountered. There were no notifications that the mouse is disconnected and reconnected. It just freezes when I am currently using it. The batteries are new.

It has been fixed when I upgraded the Mac OS to 10.6.5 which just released today.

Apple Mail inbox "all" selected can't unselect. Tried quiting; tried restarting. Mail freezes then unfreezes. When going to View and clicking on Select, nothing opens, freezes. After 30 seconds, it opens up, everything in the inbox remains selected.

Try force quitting the Mail app:
Option+Command+Esc, then select Mail from the list. See if that helps.

Try the Firefox SafeMode. <br />

You should be able to uninstall that AOL toolbar extension while running in the Firefox SafeMode.
