Freezing of keychain after start

Hi, two weeks ago I bought a new mac book pro 13", I bought it for my work, but mainly for my school. I need an internet, but in our school we have a network, wich needs some certificate. I downloaded this certificate from school sites. It was a cert. for previous version of OS X, 10.6. I tried to install it by double-click but after that, the keychain frozen and since that time, every time when I want to start the keychain, it freeze. Is there any possibility how can I reset the keychain? Thnak you for your help.

sometimes a font error appears which shows that a font  helr66w.ttf is clashing with system font but i am unable to find that font in system through search option.
Download and run Find Any File to search for a file with "hel466w.ttf" in the file name. When you find it the file can be dragged from the search results window to the Desktop to uninstall.
FAF can search areas that Spotlight can't like invisible folders, system folders and packages. If there's a library hiding somewhere on your hard drive FAF will find it.
There could be one or more damaged preference files in your Home/Library/Preferences folder that are involved.  If other means fail post back and I have a method to determine if that's the case or not that I can post.

My MacBook Pro 15" i7 2011 freezes suddenly minutes after starting up the computer.
Sometimes it beeps after freezing, and keeps beeping forever until I shut down the computer by pressing the power button.
Other times the screen gets a little darker and a text appears saying I need to turn off the computer by pressing the power button and restart, but after restarting the computer freezes again. Each time I turn it on it takes only a few minutes to freeze it seams, about 2-3 minutes or less, and occasionaly it doesn´t even start up.
I don´t recall the exact version of the operating system, its MacOSX (10.6 or something)
    Any sollutions?

Three beeps is usually indicative of a RAM problem.  Take out one RAM chip and see what happens and then swap with the other one.  See if there is a difference.  Also engage the Apple hardware test and see if that offers any useful information.

  • Mac Pro freezes few minutes after starting download of additional content

    Hello everyone!
So... I've downloaded Logic Pro X from the App Store today. Install and download of basic content went smoothly, but problem occured when I started download of additional content. Few minutes after download had been started, whole computer would just freeze, and I would have to shut it down by holding the power button. I tried downloading just small packs of content but it didn't help every time, in 80% cases it would freeze again.
Logic was never installed on this machine earlier, at least not after clean Mavericks install few weeks ago.
What could be the cause to this problem, and can any of you help me?
    Thanks in advance.

  • Leopard 10.5.3 freezes Photoshop CS2 after start up

OK - here we go. I know there are issues with files over the net and saving etc . . . HOWEVER I am using CS2 and I do not save over a network. I open up ANY file into photoshop to work on and I get about 20 seconds of doing stuff and then it just freezes up. I can move onto other applications and have to force quit photo shop . . . I have tried just opening photo shop and leaving it open for a few seconds and then the same thing happens. ONLY SINCE UPDATING TO 10.5.3 - Can any help? does anyone have the same problem and if so will it be fixed or shall I just trash my mac after using them for 12 years!!! ; ). PLEASE don't tell me that I have to update to CS3 as that's just criminal and defunnking a product so soon after it's release - getting very microsoft . . .

Adobe's the one who decides what to upgrade for Leopard compatibility. Not Apple. CS3 is barely Leopard compatible as is, though a recent update appears to fix those issues at least for 10.5.0, as the most recent is rated for 10.5.0 only, saying nothing about 10.5.3. CS2 Adobe has clearly indicated on their website is not Leopard tested:

CS3 has been out since April 16, 2007. You call a software that has been out for more than a year "so soon"? Complain to Adobe.

  • Windows 7 Freezes Almost Instantly after start up.

I just installed windows 7 and the drivers, after my most recent restart, I can't make it more than about 15 seconds into the windows launch without it freezing. I get to the desktop screen but thats it. I have no time to do anything else. Anyone havea  solution?

You might also want to create a Windows 7 Repair Disk for hopefully now or definitely for the future. It's a great tool to automatically fix Win7 startup problems. I've used it many, many times during my Windows 7 boot camp experiences. This DVD is *not* an install DVD (i.e. you can't install/reinstall Win7 with it), it just has some very good startup diagnostics and fixes. Microsoft did good making this product
Since you can't boot into Windows, you can find the repair image on the web to burn to a DVD, or make it from another Win7 machine.. That's the normal way to make the repair disk, but for some reason it doesn't always work (it didn't for me).

Try booting into Safe mode (holding down the option key whilst booting). Your machine may run more slowly than usual, but at least it will let us know if you've a faulty kernel extension causing the problem.

P.S. Which version of Dreamweaver? The CS6 or CC version?

  • Notebook freezes few seconds after start. Overheat? New video cable?

Hello and thanks for your attention.
    HP Pavillion DV5-1235e
    Windows Vista
    4 years old.
I wanted to clean the fan on my laptop since it is 4 years old now. So I had to take apart everything and took it back together. I did remove the old thermal paste and putted some new.  Except that I didn't change anything. And I also canged the video cable for a new one.
My first attepmt to start didn't end well. I pressed the power button my notebook started but the sreen didn't start and from there on he didn't even boot. (the HDD led didn't blink ) So i found a solution for that. pulled out the power suply, pressed the power button for 30-60 sec. Puted the power back and viola! It worked. But I didn't even open a web browser and the laptop freezed. So i pressed the power button for 3 sec and the laptop turned off. Turned it back on I had the same problem as in the first attemp. So had to pull out power suply, press power button , put power suply back on and it worked again but i didn't have time to open speedfan to see the temp so I don't know what happend actualy. The fan is rotating. the thermo paste is new. everything should work fine.
edit: I managed to start speedfan. The temperatures were low. The lowest I have ever seen them. But he still freezed
edit2: In safe mode. it works longer but freezes(does freeze and the monitor turns off)
Thank you who made it to this point.
    Looking forward the anwsers.

Firefox for android freezes/crashes immediately after start since the automatic update to Android 4.2.2 on my Samsung Galaxy S2 Plus; sometimes it reports a crash without being started. Language is German; I've send several automatic crash reports; all available updates are installed. Other apps (google+, skype, TrustGo, Polaris Office 4 ...) started to crash as well after this android update. Please help or update Firefox.

hello emuller, you might have to clear the data & cache of the affected applications for them to work correctly on the new os version (this will reset firefox to the state after a fresh install).

  • After Installing ox lion, mac pro freezes after start up

so... just like the title says. after installing ox lion on my macbook pro ( i have snow leopard before. 4g memory), sometimes it freezes right after start up, and I could not click on anything, and i had to force it to shut down by holding the power button.
I don't know if anybody else have the same problem or not? is it a bug or something? hope it can be solved soon.....
Also, I have installed all the updates so far...

Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of this exercise is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party system modifications that load automatically at startup or login. Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. Boot in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. The instructions provided by Apple are as follows:
Be sure your Mac is shut down.
    Press the power button.
Immediately after you hear the startup tone, hold the Shift key. The Shift key should be held as soon as possible after the startup tone, but not before the tone.
Release the Shift key when you see the gray Apple icon and the progress indicator (looks like a spinning gear).
Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including wireless networking on certain Macs.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem(s)?
After testing, reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode.)

I just don't know if this is showing some sort of problem..
If your Mac boots to the Desktop without freezing, nothing to worry about. The screen color may vary somewhat betweeen one Mac OS X to another.
This can help startup issues also.
Disable the Lion "resume" feature ...
    Open System Preferences > General
Deselect:  Restore windows when quitting and re-opening apps

  • Arrow freezes after starting

I have an old iMac G4 (flat panel) with MAC OS9. When I try to start it, the arrow freezes immediately after starting. What can I do ? Thanks for your answer

There are several things which may contribute to
this symptom; corruption on the startup drive's
sectors which have that data on them necessary
for the computer to boot, is one of them.
Some ideas and links to support documents may
be available here in Apple Support Mac OS 9:
    http://www.apple.com/support/macos9/
    Too full a hard disk drive, can cause problems;
in that the system can become overwritten or
corrupted by too many files and not enough free
space on the hard disk drive for the OS to work.
Have you tried starting the computer from the OS
installer disc to see if you can boot it at all? This
should be accomplished by inserting the 9.x OS
bootable installer CD into the optical drive tray,
and attempting to restart or start. There is a
utility on the installer disc which may help fix
the hard disk drive. Or if you have a bootable
third-party disk utility for OS 9.2.2 or earlier,
that may be an option instead of the system disc.
This may not be an easy task; the disc may
not wish to be inserted into the computer.
You may also try various keyboard commands
to try and make the computer start up; and if
there is no damage to the hard disk drive, or
the startup volume, it may work. Some are in
the following links; and of those, a few are for
Mac OS 9.x and earlier. Others are for OS X.
    Magical Macintosh Keyboard Sequences:

Where to find Mac keyboard shortcuts - urlfan:
    http://www.urlfan.com/local/whereto_find_mac_keyboardshortcuts/68261981.html
Things such as resetting the PRAM or NVRAM
could be of usefulness; depending on the cause
of the issues your computer has going on inside.
You can try to start with extensions disabled
in OS 9.2.2 & earlier (to a point) by holding the
Shift key down on startup. If that works, then
you know there is a problem with those files
known as extensions. An extension manager
is a helpful thing in a pure OS 9.2 system. I
used many utilities and tools in my pre-X days.
    Good luck & happy computing!

  • My laptop freezes right after start up.

I have a Pavillion G6 2232tx laptop which was working fine until yesterday it completely froze. I had to force turn off by holding down the power button. after that it would freeze right after start up. I thought it was a software problem so I deleted the partition reformatted the hard drive, reinstalled windows 8.1 and on the very first startup where windows asks to set the computer's name it froze again.laptop's temperature seems normal, no dust or anything blocking the vents. memory and hard drive both pass the diagnostics test in the bios If any one of you could help me figure out the issue i would be very thankfull. sorry for bad english. it is my third language.

IT turns out there was a problem with the Ralink Wireless card

This is sometimes caused by Bad Blocks on the Hard Drive.
If 10.7, hold down Command-R at startup, and choose Disk Utility.
If 10.6 or earlier, boot to the Installer/Utilities DVD, answer only the "what language" question and wait for the MenuBar to be drawn. Choose Disk Utility from the Utilities Menu.
Select your Hard drive by Make & Model and check the SMART Status (lower right of the right window). Choose "Repair Disk" . This ONLY examines and repairs the Directory area of the drive, but may improve things a bit. If errors cannot be repaired, you may need a stronger tool, or a new drive.
