Freezing while running

I have had my Fifth Gen Ipod for about 6 months. Every time I run with it, it pauses different songs. I can press play and get it to continue. After a few episodes of this, it freezes. I have tried the 5R's, with no improvement. Any suggestions? (I do not have any freezing whild syncing my Ipod, etc.)

They are extremely allergic to water, drops, and jarring. If you have it secured where it won't move much, and have a smooth stride, you shouldn't have a problem if you have it in a case which will not allow your sweat to get in it.
If I were you I would really get a Shuffle (you can get them for $49 on the online Apple Store) for jogging and clip it someplace you won't sweat on it. If you must have a player with a screen, go for a refurbished nano. Both of these use flash memory so they don't have a hard drive that can mistrack.

Hi Bill,
It does sound like this crash is specific to that machine. I did find a few logs of similar crashes in our notes but there's no record of anyone being able to reproduce the error and hence solve it.
Do you have to use this machine for your application? Could you use the machine you know works?
It is likely that there was a problem with the initial installation of LabVIEW. If you do need to use this machine, I would recommend doing a complete uninstall and reinstall of all NI Software. The directions for this are in the attached word document and the MSI blast software you need is at the following link:

Application freezes while running and returns to normal after execution

I deployed an application and it works fine.. but
once running and I click on a button Execute (does the work) the application freezes up until it finishes and then return to its normal screen
when i minimize it and maximize it while running just the border of the application pops up with nothing in the middle at the time it is running
how can i prevent it to freeze

how do i make it run on its own thread?

Computer freezes while running Endeca Tools Service

We are facing a problem while running Endeca Tools Service with Experience Manager (v3.1.2 ) on Windows 7.
My computer freezes recurrently while the service is running. The same issue is happening to all of my colleagues who have installed the products.

Entire computer freeze while running Safari in OS X Mavericks

I honestly can't recall the last time I've had a full "system freeze" on this or my two previous MacBook Pro laptops. But now it's happened twice in the past couple weeks, both times while running Safari and under OS X 10.9.2. This is the sort of freeze where the only thing I could get to function was the trackpad or bluetooth mouse. I could move the mouse around but couldn't click on anything. Nor could I request a Force Quit as none of the pulldowns worked, nor would <option><command> <esc> bring up any menu. I closed the lid but the computer wouldn't even go to sleep. My last resort was to hold down the power key until the machine shut down which worked. I restarted and it came up ok. I am about to go stare at the system log but haven't done so yet.
Might this be a Mavericks issue?? I am running the latest 10.9.2 and I've been running that for both of these recent events. Anyone seeing this??? Again both times it happened while Safari was up and running so I suppose it could be a Safari issue but I am most often on Safari anyway so it's a bit premature to blame Safari.
Any thoughts???

I've had Mavericks on my MacBook Pro, a 2009 MacBook and an iMac since the day it was released and have installed updates up to and including 10.9.2 on the dates each update was released. Safari is my primary browser and I use it a lot. I have not experienced such a problem on any of the 3 computers. I have been very pleased with the performance of all 3 machines.
Since the problem is so random on your system, it will probably be difficult to diagnose. If you have not done so, possible a clean install from the Recovery Partition will fix the problem.

Report "freeze" - while running through Appplication

Hi folks,
we have a report that runs fine through report builder and while running it through application except the one institute.
In that institute, where data amount is even not as large as in testing database (or in any other institute), report freeze after while. When I run that report in this database through report builder then it's quick and without any problem - so I think it's not database problem, but could be some setting on report's server.
We tried to extend cache size from original value 50. After increasing cache size in config file to 600 (in .../reports/conf folder rep_rerver.conf file <property name="cacheSize" value="600"/> ) report runs fine (there were no change in report on in testing data amount during all testing process) . Normal value that we have in other institutions (config files for other databases is 50 - where this amount is enough)
We don't want lo leave this value on 600, but at the moment we don't know what other parameters can have something to do with it.
Any ideas?

IPhone freezing while running. Help??

Hi, my iPhone 4 keeps freezing when I use it while running. It only happens during/after running, and the music will still play but the touch does not work. I've been restarting it each time, but sometimes I have to restart it a couple times for it to work. How can I fix this?

IMac freezes while running Adrium

Hello,
I've bought my iMac 27inch i5 at the end of 2009. Right now I experience the issue as if I'm running Adrium on my Mac the HDD goes wild and most of my programs stop running and I only get the spinning rainbow
At the moment I turn of Adrium, everything goes smoothly for a while. I've already used the diagnostic for HDD and it says that there shouldn't be a problem.
I will make some more test, as stressing the HDD, but I would like to know if anyone else has an idea what my problem could be.

Now I've got some update on my problem.
Today I didn't run Adrium a single time. But while running iWeb'09 I got the same problem. I've started to monitor my HDD via iStat Menubar. The activity bar shows, that my HDD stops working and won't be read or written. After a few seconds 10 to 60 the HDD shows activity again and I can work for some time.
Programs like Safari, Preview or Skype won't cause this problem.
Anyone an idea?

Bridge Freezes While Running Firefox

Has any one else experienced the same problem? Bridge CS3 will freeze up if Firefox 3.0.15 is running at the same time. It seems to me that Firefox conflicts significantly with Adobe CS3 such as Bridge and Photoshop. If I force quit Firefox, Bridge and photoshop will un-freeze. I have expereiced this with Bridge CS4 and Firefox once as well. Is there a solution to this problem? Thanks so much in advance.
PS. I am using OS 10.5.8

But I wonder why you are using Bridge CS3 when you have Bridge CS4. If you
for some reason would like to open the images in CS3 you can set this to the
preferences for Bridge. Bridge CS4 is far better then CS3
And also the question, why do you use Firefox 3.0.15 while the current
version is at 3.5.5 ?
I'm not saying you need to update right from the moment it is available but
CS3 is several years old and also Firefox is 5 upgrades further in the list

PC freeze while running RAM preview (After Effects CS6)

Hi everyone!
Recently my PC froze while doing RAM preview of full-hd 30 fps timelapse (photos in RAW), which was about 25 seconds long. I haven't had any issues to date and i find it somewhat strange since i haven't been messing with settings lately.
It has frozen like twice in an hour of work, so i'm getting a little bit frustrated :/
System Specs:
CPU: i5-4670k @4.4 Ghz
RAM: 8 GB 1600 Mhz (Kingson HyperX Genesis)
Mobo: Gigabyte Sniper G1.Sniper B5
GPU: Gigabyte Geforce GTX 770 4gb (running at stock speed)
Main drive: OCZ Vertex 4 SSD 128 GB (i have all my adobe programs installed here)
Storage Drive: WD Black 1TB
Power supply: OCZ 750 W
AE version is 11.0.4.2
The problem occurs typicaly when the RAM is at +90% and cpu is running at 80-100%.
I've tried turning 'Render Multiple Frames Simultaneously" on and off, but it didnt do nothing.

CPU on full load is under 75 degrees, so it is not the cooling issue. I've had some BSODs while building this system regarding RAM, but when i was testing the sticks and switching them on mobo, everything was working fine since then, so i doubt it. The system does not freeze in any other program that is CPU-intensive (tortured it for like 2 hours using y-cruncher, so i think it is a stable OC) nor GPU-intensive.

OS X System Freezes While Running Disk Utility repair permissions

While trying to pepair permissions systom freeze up. So I put in the startup disk hit restrat holding down c and tried to repair permissions that way and it froze up that way too. I had to manually turn off machine. What is going on?

Thanks for your response, I only have one disk. 10.5.1 I have 10.6 on usb drive. I will try running Disk Utility from the first DVD and instead of repair permissions try to repair your drives. The reason I was repairing permissions is I have an app called video converter and when I opened it I got an error window. Ok I will try repair disk. If that doesnt work I guess I will have to reinstall the os? Is that right? Ok, here I go to try it.

2011 17" freezing while running VirtualBox

I have the latest 17" macbook pro (MacBookPro8,3 - 2011 with the radeon graphics) and I'm having a consistent freezing problem when I run VirtualBox (either 4.0 or 4.0.4). Especially if I have it running more than half an hour, sometimes only minutes, my whole system will freeze solid and I have to hard shutdown by holding down the power button.
Has anyone else been having this problem? Anyone have a fix?

There are known issues with running VirtualBox on the new machines. It will probably take a short while for Oracle to update it. These are the first widely available machines using Intel's new Sandy Bridge chipset. VirtualBox directly accesses the hardware. It's not really surprising that there are some stability issues at this point. The good news is that changing some of your virtual machine settings should get it to run stable for you:

Program freezes while running executables.

I'm working on a java installer & while doing the install the program window freezes until it's done. I'm trying to figure out how to make it not freeze so that I can implement some kind of progress bar. Here is the codes I'm using to install java I'm using the same code for everything.

Firefox freezes while running, minimizing and maximising solves the problem temporarily, but it freezes again after a few seconds. Any solutions?

Firefox seems to be running fine, but it seems that only the display freezes. On minimizing/maximizing the window I can see the result of any clicks made during the frozen period as well.

Try to boot the computer in Windows Safe mode with network support (press F8 on the boot screen) as a test to see if that helps.

Boot Camp freezing while running Flash-based content

I recently installed Windows 7 Professional 32 bit on my Boot Camp partition on my 15" MacBook Pro. I had not been running Windows much before applying the latest Boot Camp update (the one that removes the red led from the speaker jack, updates the trackpad, etc), but ever since it was installed I have found that anytime I go to play Flash-based content, particularly videos, my computer comes to a extremely slow performance rate, oftentimes freezing and requiring a hard reboot. This is not always the case; almost every time the computer will unfreeze if I wait long enough. An out of memory error is my best guess about what's happening.
I was wondering if anyone else experiencing extreme slowness in their computers in regards to the graphics when running Boot Camp, primarily when using Flash-based content - have you encountered this, and does anyone here have any suggestions?

Flash barely budges the cpu on desktops, it isn't RAM issue at all, more about processor and gpu... oh, and browser somewhat too. Flash runs better on Windows 7 than Mac OS, given the right hardware.
But you have to install it and other software and drivers yourself.
