FREEZING WITH SHOCKWAVE FLASH 11.9.900.117

On 10/12/13, downloaded this update from Adobe.
Almost immediately, webpages on various sites began freezing and I receive
the message depicted below.
Using Mozilla Firefox, Windows 7 Home.
This issue occurs on numerous websites (in the midst of Google search, fb, etc.).
It even occurred while on adobe.com site when attempting to search for others
experiencing this same problem.
Since this problem did NOT begin occurring until after downloading this update,
I am relatively certain that this is NOT a Firefox problem but a bug in this version
of Shockwave Flash.
Any input with regard to an immediate remedy is appreciated.

Download the Flash Player Uninstaller
Then download the Flash Player Plug-in (for all other browsers)
Lastly, download the Shockwave FULL Installer
Save all of these file to your Downloads folder by rhgith clikcing ans choosing "Save Link as"- DO NOT RUN anything yet.
Open and run the Flash Player Uninstaller.
Open your Control Panel and uninstall Shockwave (if it's there to uninstall)
Reboot your system.
BEFORE you open anything else, locate and run the Shockwave FULL Installer.
Then run the Flash Player installer to replace the plugin in Firefox.
That should remedy the "unresponsive pluign" messages.

I want to upgrade from my current version of Flash v11.9.900.117 to the current v11.9.900.152. On clicking on the Flash player link in the Downloads section of the Adobe home page I am taken to what looks like the 'Flash Player' download page with an 'install Flash' button in the bottom right hand corner. However, when I click on this button I am directed back to the Adobe home page. Could this be something to do with my AV?.

Bypass the downloader/installer and download the Adobe Flash Player installer directly by clicking one of the following links.
Flash Player for ActiveX (Internet Explorer)
Flash Player Plug-in (All other browsers)
    Flash Player (Mac OS X)

  • Problem with "Shockwave Flash is busy or not responding" message

    Hello,
I am getting the "Shockwave Flash is busy or not responding" message, visiting the site on which I am working on for one client. Site is http://www.puntacanajustsafari.com/
I have installed one flash widget for weathercast and imediatelly after installing I have got the message "Shockwave Flash is busy or not responding"  - browser, buttons, scrolling - everything simply freeze! Few minutes just standing by, not responsive, and then eventually page start to scroll normally. Since then I changed widget position, made it to show on tour page only ( http://www.puntacanajustsafari.com/punta-cana-jeep-tour/ ) but after facing the same problems with flash thing I have removed it completely and installed one other widget and made separate page for weather information, that seems to work nicely (for now).
Problem is that I am still geting "frozen" page when visiting home page and tour page, even after clearing the page cashe and removing widget. This is happening on both browsers that I use (firefo and IE) so I am partially sure that is not a browser problem. This is first time happening to me, if somebody can figure out what to do, I would appreciate it.

Clear your browser's cache and cookies. I'm not seeing any issues in Firefox,  Chrome or IE

  • Win 7 does not associate swf with Shockwave Flash Captivate 7

I created a test file and when I went to publish it in Win 7, there was no application for the swf file.  I tried to find Shockwave Flash or Macromedia and I could not find anything to associate it with.  I looked on the Internet and someone suggested a stand alone Flash Player. I can associate the swf file with that but then it won't play through Captivate like it should.  I tested it on another Win 7 machine and it too could not find the application.  Captivate 5 with XP was so easy. It just found it and I had no problems.  What is this about?  Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks

When you publish your project as a SWF, a HTML file is also published. You can open this HTML just like any other web page in IE, FireFox or Chrome, You don't need a standalone Flash Player for that.
"I can associate the swf file with that but then it won't play through Captivate like it should. " -- You can insert SWF files on a slide in Captivate. AFAIK, Captivate could never be used as a "player" for SWFs.

  • Quad freezes with horizontal flashing

My Quad freezes in several modes; in several programs with horizontal flashing that preceed the freeze. Once frozen, the pointer will move with mouse control but everything else is frozen, nothing responds to the mouse or the keyboard or special key combinations. All I can do is hold the main power button until the machine shuts down. Wait and startup, everything then runs until the next freeze while in one application or another.

Memory problems are very difficult to "catch in the act". But there are some Red lights in your Mac next to the memory slots. Next time it misbehaves like this, open the side door (there is no Interlock and it will not power off if you open the door) and see if any of the error lights are on. That may point to a particular memory module.
There may also be some error messages from the time of the problem in the System Log, which can be inspected with Console utility.

I have already installed adobe flash player & shockwave flash player with not solve this issue.
Here is an example of these windows.

You can try these steps in case of issues with web pages:
Reload web page(s) and bypass the cache to refresh possibly outdated or corrupted files.
*Hold down the Shift key and left-click the Reload button
    *Press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux)
    *Press "Command + Shift + R" (Mac)
Clear the cache and cookies only from websites that cause problems.
    "Clear the Cache":
*Firefox/Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"
"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:
    *Firefox/Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"
Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode|Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).
*Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window.

  • Firefox 25 on Windows 7: Flash 11.9.900.117 freezes Firefox

I have done the troubleshooting suggested by Mozilla https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/firefox-hangs-or-not-responding
Firefox works fine but as soon as any Flash content is started Firefox locks up and I have to close the process in Windows Task Manager.
I can't go into Flash settings and disable hardware acceleration because Flash freezes Firefox completely before that.

Could you try disabling hardware acceleration via your system's mms.cfg file?
This will be located in your C:\windows\syswow64\macromed\flash folder (assuming that you are using a 64 bit version of Windows).  Simply open up the mms.cfg file with a text editor and add the following line:
    DisableHardwareAcceleration=1
Save the file and try again.
If that fails, I'd recommend reverting back to Flash Player 11.7 until this can be resolved.
Where can I find direct downloads of Flash Player 11.7 for Windows or Macintosh?

  • Safari's odd behaviour with Shockwave/Flash

Was trying to browse the European site for the new Nintendo Wii console, but finding that the links did not work in Safari.
Go to http://ms.nintendo-europe.com/wii and choose UK/English as your language. This appends ?l=enGB to your URL. Then click on a link, for example "Philosophy", near the top of the page. This appends ?site=philosophy.html&l=enGB to your existing URL. That makes the whole URL http://ms.nintendo-europe.com/wii/?l=enGB?site=philosophy.html&l=enGB, which is invalid, as there are now two question marks in there.
If you visit the same site in Internet Explorer, the name-value pairs are replaced, rather than appended to, which results in a valid URL.
The code for each link is
    var so = new SWFObject("w_button.swf?u=philosophy.html&t=Philosophy&l=enGB", "button1", "82", "40", "7", "#ffffff");
    so.write("button1");
but unfortunately, that's where my knowledge of Shockwave or Flash ends I'm afraid.
Is this a coding issue or a browser issue?

    Hi m0thr4
    i see what you mean
I'd guess it's a combination of coding/browser - fwiw, Camino handles the pages perfectly well on my G5/10.4.7
It's worth contacting the site owners & letting them know about this..... also consider Safari-Report Bugs to Apple from the Safari menu.

  • Can't upgrade from Flash 11.9.900.117 to version 11.9.900.152

Running Windows Vista OS on a Toshiba laptop.  Download failed on both IE9 and Chrome.  No explanation given for failure to complete download.  Never got pop up box "RUN or "SAVE"

Before you click Run or Save, you may see a drop down that gives you another option - Save and Run.  My experience was that IE10 got in the way of the install completing successfully.  ONce I choose Save and Run, the install ran successfully.

  • I've recently been getting this message 'Shockwave Flash maybe busy' quite a lot when i open my email, clicking to opening an email

Quite recently I've been having the following message of varying URL's informing me of Unresponsive Scripts. Also, I've started to have problems with viewing videos at YouTube and slowness. Can you advice me?
Below you will see a list of things I saw on my Add-on's and updates. I'm not sure why I have some of the *Unknown* Add-on's. Can you tell me? I wasn't aware of them before and certainly don't remember downloading any add-ons to my computer.
I have these two JAVA's installed in my computer I don't know what they are for and whether I need them both or at all. Can you advice?

Shockwave Flash was recently updated (see below) so can't understand why I'm now getting these messages. Please help me. Tell me how to make my computer get back to it's 'normal no problem self'
I wasn't having any issues until quite recently. What was the changes that prompted this.

  • Shockwave Flash above version 11.2.202.235 not compatible with Firefox 14.0.1

I am using Firefox 14.0.1 with Shockwave Flash. If I use any version of Shockwave Flash later than 11.2.202.235 I can not watch videos such as Youtube. All I get is a white screen. If I roll back to SF Ver .235 the videos play fine. I do not have this problem with Google Chrome or Internet Explorer.
Are the 11.3 r300 versions of Shockwave Flash not compatible with Firefox?

Recent crashes of certain multimedia contents (this includes Youtube videos, certain flash games and other applications) in conjunction with Firefox 14 are most probably caused by a recent Flash 11.3 update and/or a malfunctioning Real Player browser plugin.
In order to remedy the problem, please perform the steps mentioned in these Knowledge Base articles:
