Freight Accounting in STO

Dear Expert,
I want to know how freight account booking happned in Case of STO.
I understant Freight cost will be captured against freight conditions maintained in STO. Is there any way that we can change the freight rate during PGI-641 movement.
If by any means / user exit we will be able to change the freight rate during PGI-641 movement, how the Freight bill booking will happen? Will it check the freight booking against 641 document or it will take pick the Freight accrual from STO?
Also is there any way to derive freight condition based on shipment type, shipment route while PGI - 641 movement?
With Regards,

  • Offset Account for Freight Account

    Hello folks,
In transaction type window, I can see GL account for Freight account. I would like to know where can I see the offset account for Freight account.
    Pls advice me.
    Thanks, Raghu.K

Not sure what you are looking for, but if the invoice has Frieght accounting, offset account will be Receivable account which you can find in the transaction type window as well.
In simple advance invoice, Receivables account Dr and rest of the accounts Cr.

  • How to capture ship method and freight account in customer master and order

    Hello
In the customer master, I would like to maintain fields like freight vendor, freight account no and preferred ship method (Like Fedex Ground, UPS next day, etc), and have them copy over to the sales order. I know we can define freight vendor in partner function, but I do not see anything in the shipping view of the customer master similar to this. We are not using the transportation module, and are on ECC 6.0.
Is my only option to define these in the text fields or under additional data of customer master and have text determination carry this over?
Im curious as to how other companies have configured this, any opinions would be greatly appreciated.
    Regards
    Ken
    Thanks in advance

    Hi Ken,
You may use the reserve fields of the customer master at general data or sales area data.
In customer master data, choose menu: Extras --> Additional data
To use a reserve field (attribute 1) of the customer master proceed as follows:
    1. Change the short descriptions of the data elements KATR1 by using the SAP enhancement and activate the data element.
    2. Maintain the entity tables TVK1 with the values.
       "01" Fedex Ground
       "02" UPS next day
       etc.
    3. Use the same procedure for the remaining reserve fields KATR2-KATR9.
Then continue with enhancement of copying the customer master fields into the sales document either VBAK, VBAP, or VBKD.

  • What will the effect of FI-Accounting in STO

    HELLO,
What will the effect of FI-Accounting in STO at receiving plant.
This is stock transfer between plants of same company codes.

    Hi,
    When you suply material from supplying plant to receiving plant the system will generate following A/c Entry;
    At the time of GI from Supplying Plant;
    Stock A/c - Dr - Receiving Plant
    Stock A/c - Cr - Supplying Plant
During GR in Receiving Plant, No FI Entry will be generatd.

  • Freight accounting in OM and AR

About accounting for FREIGHT - just wanted to confirm something we noticed. We've set the profile option 'Inventory Item for Freight' to FREIGHT (an item we created) but we have different FREIGHT items based on the zones they are going to, all with User Item Status 'Freight'. As we use Auto-Accounting based on Transaction Types, we would have one order placed with FREIGHT 1 and another order with FREIGHT 2 depending on where the product is shipping to. When the invoice is generated, we notice that the correct Freight Accounts are hit even though the Profile Option is pointing to a static FREIGHT account. Therefore, we are inferring that the Profile Option is only an option for Freight to be interfaced to AI. Just wondering if we are correct here.

    dear all,
i am facing the same problems, after i run workflow process and autoinvoice, i am getting some invoices, whereas some SO are still not transferred.
anybody with the solutions please help.

  • What is freight accounting in mm?.

what is freight accounting..can anyone just explain in brief about it.. a link would also be much helpfull..

    Hi,
I'am not sure or what I say is anwering your question, but I hope it helps.
    Freight:
    2 possibilities;
    a) Planned freight costs
    b) Unplanned freight costs
In case of planned freight cost you know in advance (while creating the PO) what
the exact freight costs are. You can enter in the PO these costs. You can enter them in a condition type (even you can provide the different transporter vendor number).
The advantage of planned costs is that the costs go directly to the material you entered in the PO.
In the second case, the unplanned cost, you do not know the cost before you
receive the invoice from the vendor.
During Invoice verification you enter the amount of the unplanned cost in the invoice header on tab Details from transaction MIRO. The cost will be
split over the number of materials. The disadvantage is that it is more complex
to calculate the costs. Example: If you order 3 machines and 1 software package.
The freightcosts are 1000 Euro, than SAP will devide these 1000 Euro over the 4 products. The change that the freight cost for the software package is 250 Euro is probably not right!
Hope this will help you further.
    regards,
    Eric

How the freight accounts get hitted ?

    Hi,
If you want seperate G/L account for freight cost then tick the accrual for that condition type and assign accrual e.g FRE1 in pricing procedure ,
following are the posting at GR and IR
    1. Goods Reciept
    Account GR
    Stock 100 + (Debit)
    GR/IR 90 - ( Credit)
Clearing account freight 10 - (Credit)
    2.Invoice reciept IR
    GR/IR 90 + (Debit)
    Vendor account 100 - (Credit)
    Clearing account freight 1 0 + (Debit)

  • Freight capitalization for STO process using shipment cost document

    Dear MM experts
I have been testing and trying to charge freight to material using transportation module. I know how to do it in simple STO process without SCD (shipment cost document) but I am not able to do it with SCD.
I have searched and tried every link I found on SCN. Unfortunately there are many open threads and non of them is answered or giving complete solution. For example I have tried this link where Ajit Kumar has explained the scenario in detail I am but unable to achieve my result. I have also tried other links and SAP note 427944 as well.
Now what thing confusing me is accounting entries and documents/steps where these accounting entries will be posted.
My current process is like this in plant to plant transfer under same company code
STO > OBD > Shipment Document > PGI > Accouting Entry with 641 movement type. Material account debit and same account credit. > Shipment Cost document > GR with 101 without any accounting entry > Transfer freight cost to FI using Freight Service PO determination > Accounting Entry Freight Outward Expense Debit and Freight Clearing Account Credit > MIRO > Accounting Entry Freight Clearing Debit and Vendor Credit
As you can see we are booking freight as an expense and not charging to material. Now what I want is that freight should be charged to material. If I am sending material from plant P000 to plant P201 under same comapny code then freight charges should be added in material cost in plant P201.
I have done FRB1 condition type with accrual and copy shipment cost tick mark and other stuff suggested in all those threads but it is not working.
My requirement is to understand the points where and what accounting entries will be created as per my new scenario which is same as old one except one difference which is to charge freight to material instead of booking expense in freight service PO.
Lets take an example that material cost price is 100 and freight charges is 50. Now as per old threads at the time of GR against OBD system will create accounting document with 150 debiting the stock in plant P201. What about credit? If we have added freight here then what about 2nd accounting entry in my first scenario in which freight expense is debited and clearing account is credited? Could anyone please explain accounting entries and points where these entries will be posted?
Another thing is that is it only possible with moving average price to charge freight to material or can we do this with standard price as well using some standard or customized solution?
Detailed and easy to understand answer will be highly appreciated.
    Thank$

    Hi Moazzam ;
Firstly, you can benefit Badi/s in package VTRA which is given belowed.
Secondly , i think that  shipping method --> create sto with delivery --> create shipment document and shipment cost document (problem is starting so system will be create PO and service entry sheet automatically , can you try shipment document is non-related with cost document.
Thirdly , you can post invoices charge to material with miro , if you success to direct freight costs to stock account (BSX).
Also , you can benefit doc. sap behaviours for Std price/ Map --> Planned & unplanned delivery costs in mm
I hope , you can manage your process ; for me standart way is the best.

  • Freight Charges in STO Should not be Inventorised

    HI All,
There is some requirement ,While doing Stock Transfer of RawMaterial from one plant to another plant  using STO, Frieght charges will be included. But we dont need these frieght charges to be inventorised, as it will simply rise the stock value.such change in inventory account in balance sheet and profit & loss account does not tallies. How can we deal with this issue.
    Thanks,
    Raju

For all materials which are valuated at MAP ,  All delivery costs including freight  will be  Inventorised at time of PGI  in case of STO.  This  is standard process , and  is  required in all companies for correct inventory valuation.
If you dont want freight to be inventorised, you need to  use FI JV or  Service Procurement  process for freight.

  • GL Accounts for sto

    Hi,
Can anybody tell me what are all the GL Accounts to be generated at GR , GI, LIV  for STO.
    regards,
    rakesh

    Hi,
          1. The GR can be posted directly to the consumption .
          2.  The GR into warehouse, you can post material to stock in quality inspection or blocked.
          3. You can watch the entire process in PO history...
the stock in transit can be shwn in MMR in plant stock view for receiving plant... OR can be displayed in the stock overview and warehouse stock of matrl report...
    Hope it helps...

  • Freight account posting.

I have a created a PO with std price + Freight. When i post GR for the above PO std price & freight are posting into same account i.e stock account. I want freight alone to be posted to seperate account. Is it possible ? how to acheive it?

    Hi
If you need the Freight cost to post into a sperate account you need to Maintain the accrual flag  for the Conditon type in M/06 & In the Pricing Procedure maintain the Accrual key for the Condition type in M/08.
At the time of GR the Freight amount is accrued into this account.Maintain the G/L account for the Accrual key in Transaction OBYC
    Thanks & Regards

  • Regarding accounting in STO

    Hello,
I am doing STO between plants of same company codes. But i am not getting FI-Doc.
    Can any one help me.....

    Hi,
If MAP is used for your material and if the MAP is different than ZERO for your such material and issuing plant combination, then when goods issue is posted with reference to your STO at the issuing plant, the accounting document will definitely be generated.  Did you actually post goods issue?.  If yes, how was it posted?.
    Cheers,

First of all " Wish you a very happy new year 2008"
Please guide me regarding the Accounts updated in
    1. One step STO
    2. Two Step STO
    3. Consignement Cycle
    4. Pipeline Materials consumption.
    Best Regards,

    Hi
Intra-Company STO: One Step Method & Two Step method:
At Supp.Plant: Stock Acc. BSX  is Credited
At. Rec.Plant : Stock Acc. BSX is Debited
If you maintain Std. at Rec. Plant and if there is any Price Diff., then Price Diff. Acc.( AUM) will be triggered....
Here all the Acc.Doc. will be generated while doing PGI only.....No Acc. Doc. will be generated at GR...
Inter Company STO - Two step Method:
    At supp.Plant....While doing PGI..:
    Stock acc. BSX is Credited
Cost of Goods sold Acc.(VAY) is Debited(+)
At. Receiving Plant While doing GR:
    Stock Acc. BSX is Debited(+)
    GR/IR Clearing Acc is Credited
If you maintain any Std. Price and if there is any price Diff. then Price Diff. Acc will be triggered...
Generally...Inter company STO...Everybody follows Two Step Method only....
    3.Consignment Process:
While doing Consumption by 201K from Consignment Stock:
    Consumption Acc.GBB-VBR....is Debited(+)
Consignment Payable Acc( KON) is Credited(-)
    4. While doing Statistical Goods Issue of PIPELINE material in to Cost center:
    Consumption Acc. GBB-VBR is Debited(+)
Pipeline payable Acc KON-PIP is Credited(-)

At the vendor level, have you entered the same amount as the expense line item. Both should match for the invoice to be posted and updated in FI
