Freight/Shipping Charge Calculation

Hello SAP Forum,
What are the different ways to charge freight to customers based on weight and distance (point of departure (shipping point/plant) to point of arrival)?
Can this be achieved by implementing shipment cost document? And will the charge on the shipment cost document be copied to the customer invoice?
Can the shipment cost document be split by plant/delivery date?
Thank you for your help and support..

  • Diffence between Freight & Shipping charges

    Dear sd experts
i know we when ever we want to Add some Transporting charges to customer we can use Freight Condition types KF00
And another process is shipment process FB00-Tk11
in both scenarios we add Transporting charges like 300 tons 50 rs --350 tons 80 rs like this
May i know exact what is difference i mean when we use only Freight and when we use only Shipment process
    Thnaks

    Hi Amith
We use shipment process to have clear distinction of cost and freight occurrence at each leg...For example if your shipment includes involvement of rail, road , air and sea.For each mode you have different vendor and you want to capture cost for each mode as well as you want to charge based on this cost to customer then shipment process will be the best bet but if you want to charge fixed freight charges to a customer then directly determine freight condition KF00 in a sales order.
Usually companies adopt shipment process to analyze and reduce cost involved in shipment by optimizing routes and deliveries of multiple customer. They plan to deliver different orders in one shipment and load orders in a truck based On LIFO..I.e. last in first out principle.
Let us know your thoughts or if you have any doubts.

  • How to account for Shipping charge not used during Purchase Process?

A PO was created. PO had purchase item price, tax, freight with shipping and insurance.
    Goods received.
    PO invoiced for item pricetaxshipping.
However, insurance was not paid for in Freight.
Question is how can we return the amount back to Vendor?
The Goods Received Document is open as shipping amount is still remains to be accounted for. What is a good for to account for this shipping charge if not returned to Customer.
    Thanks.

    Hi Gordon,
I think it was my mistake.
This is what is the conclusion like you suggested.
Whenever Invoice is less than po, it automatically adjusts the Inventory of Finished Goods Account on credit side with the amount we paid less.
    Thanks. So no issues here.

  • AR Down Payment and Freight/Additional Charges

We have several clients that would like the following functionallity:
When creating and AR Down Payment Invoice form a Sales Order, the Freight/Additional expenses should be populated.
The fields should be active so users can apply partial payments and the amounts reduce the open balance on the Sales Order appropriately, leaving the Sales Order open for adjustment (i.e. increased frieght charge)
This function should work as all other marketing documents do, allowing the mentioned fields to be drawn to the AR Down Payment.
    Thanks,
    Dean

I have a business case example.
My client, who only sells to distributors, so no sales tax is charged, has a web site that enables their customers to purchase products and pay for them using a credit card.  Most products are priced to include freight, insurance, and handling charges.  However, if the customer wants the product shipped over night, they can pay an additional freight charge.  The Web site then forwards a sales order to the manufacturing site with the ordered item number and a flat rate shipping charge for over night delivery.  The sales order is created in SAP B1 and since the order has been pre-paid, the special orders representative that manages these orders, creates a down payment invoice and enters a payment for the full amount of the order including the freight charge.  When the actual invoice is created later, it is saved as a draft so that the special orders representative can drawn from the down payment invoice.  But, since only the item price amount can be drawn, the freight charge has to be handled with an internal reconciliation.

  • DocTotal doesnt include shipping charges on reports and letters

When I run reports like sales analysis, for some reason I only get the invoice total without shipping charges. Obviously in a month that can be a fair amount of revenue, that I cannot show on my reports. Related to this is also that for example on a dunning letter, the amount due and the actual balance field will show the invoice total without shipping charges. It does however show the correct amount (i.e the actual/real customers balance for that invoice) in the subtotal of open invoices on that letter. This is obviously confusing for the customer to get this letter.
Can anyone please help me track down why this might be happening? I'm running B1 2007 A (8.00.177)

I was afraid of that...However, I can deal with that internally, but on the documents like a customer statement, or aging report, or even the dunning, how can I get the "real" invoice total. It does absolutely no good to show the customer a invoice total, that isn't the invoice total. I poked around but since most of the data that are being pulled are variable numbers, I'm lost as to how to accomplish this.
Thank you for answering though, that was much appreciated.
Kerstin: But it is a source of revenue, I make money on my shipping. Yes, there is a cost associated with it, but I really cant wrap my head around how a field titled document total is not the document total. Dummy items would negate the integrated shipping features I'm using, and cause us to offer something like flat rate shipping which in my industry is just not always practical.

  • Shipping Charges and Country of Destination

In a B2C environment is it possible to configure Webtools to calculate shipping charges dependant upon country of destination?
I don't think so but I'd like to be proved wrong.

Sorry, I've just seen that the same question was asked recently on 18th June 2009 - I suspect customisation is the only answer but it would be good to have this confirmed

  • Can I set a minimum shipping charge for each catalog?

I'd like to set minimum shipping charges for each of my catalogs. Then have USPS or UPS kick in if it is more than the minimum shipping charge.  Is this possible at all?
    Josh

    Hi Josh,
We don't have a feature for this exact requirement.  We do have min/max quantity within products however as an alternative perhaps.
I'm not sure if you can maybe use some JS to accomplish what you are after.  I'll leave this thread open to suggestions.

  • Freight/Other Charges to be included for 100% Downpayment Invoice

    Hi
Currently in SAP 2007 version, where Freight/Other Charges is concerned, the information will not be copied/drawn to Down Payment Invoice. These charges will only be included in the final A/R Invoice.
Even for 100% DownPayment Invoice, the freight/other charges is not copied/drawn.
Does SAP has any maproad that in newer versions, this feature where 100% downpayment is concerned, the Freight/Other charges can be included.
    Thank you
    Regards
    Siew Yuen

    Hi Siew Yuen,
In common sense, downpayment would normally < 100%.  Otherwise, it should be treated as reserved invoice or deposit.
Therefore, I don't think in any near future you could get the function you desired.
    Thanks,
    Gordon

    Hi Sushil,
Yes you can add any condition during invoice verification in MIRO.
After entering a PO number in MIRO click on PO references tab & scroll right, you will get one icon of Edit own condition.
Click on Edit own condition & add your conditions(freight, Handling charges)

  • Why Are Shipping Charges Not Shown Under SHIPPING on Pacing Slip

Why are the shipping charges included in total amount charged, but not under shipping on the Packing Slip?

Why are the shipping charges included in total amount charged, but not under shipping on the Packing Slip?

  • Re: Separate shipping charge for multiple ship to party

    Hi guys,
We are using the total order value to calculate shipping charge that should be applied to the customer.
    0 - 25  -- $6
    26 - 50 --$10
    and so on
So i am using a condition type ZSHH which groups all the conditions types on value basis and applies the right charge in the sales order.
However when there are 2 ship to party in the sales order, then also it is adding the value of all the lin-items in the sales order and applying the shipping cost.
What is desired that the condition type should calculate the total of the items to be shipped to every ship-to-party and apply different shipping charge for every Ship-to-party separately.
I am not able to figure out how to do this?
Do I need to write a different Structure Group Key Formula so as to acheive this functionality.
Currently The condition type is assigned to the structure key - 1 (Overall Document)
If yes ... kindly guide me .. what all things should I pass to the abaper so as to help him develop the structure key.
    Thanks in advace

Does my question make sense ... as no one is replying ... I feel that I am asking some ridiculous or may be an obvious question.
    Can anybody guide me ?

  • HT1040 Multiple Prints in aperture---one shipping charge

How do I reduce my shipping charges when ordering prints through aperture? I'd like to order prints of several photos, but I don't want to pay $1.99 shipping for each print. Is there a way of combining the prints into one order?

You can select several photos at once and order prints for all of them in one single order. You can specify different sizes and quantities for each of the photos, like this:

  • Shipping Charge Error

    Hi,
Every now and again there seems to be a problem with our shipping charges, which results in the charge being set to zero and the customer gets away without paying for delivery. For example, we just had a customer purchase an item last week and for some reason the charge for express shipping was zero. She place an order for the same item again today and was charged the correct amount.
We are using the integrated Australia Post standard and express shipping options on www.bluebanyan.com.au.
Please help, as this is not the firts time it has happend!
    Many thanks
    Paul

Go to the shopping cart, if you got developer toolbar in firefox for example turn off javascript. YOu can then get to the payment form and turn script back on and find you got no shipping cost added.
    This likely what is happening.
You can add an extra shipping paramater to the shipping tag (See tags quick reference in the knowledgebase) and you can try those options to get it working better.
