French books on ibooks anytime soon?

Guys,
Is there a possibility to have access to a french ibook store? I tried to look but couldn't find one, then went on the french apple store, found the ibook app, and it seems that all the book available are in english. So my question are:
Is there really a french ibook store and I messed up somewhere?
or there isn't and then when are getting one?

I'm not sure what "opinions" you are looking for, but you do indeed only have access to the iBookstore of the country in which you live. So you can only purchase those books which Apple has been able to license for download sale from your country's publisher, just as it the case with music, videos, films, etc. If you are in the US, publishers here release most of their books in English, so that's the language you'll find in the US iBookstore. Whether or not the publishers in France, or of French-language books in the US, will eventually elect to allow download sales of their books in the US, no one here can say.
As was said previously, you can try Amazon's Kindle bookstore and Barnes & Nobel's Nook store and see if they have any French-language books, if those bookstores are available where you live.

Sorry, I cannot remember all teh many options of category and sub categories offered during the delivery process.
A very simple solution for you is to use Google Translate to convert the category titles to French
Another option is to use the iBooks store - search for books made with iBooks Author open a few preview / sample books to look at the information page and check which categories are used the most... and use the same!

I bought an iPad to my mother/father and they really like to read books. Before their was a useful link at the bottom of the Book store saying "French book" or something like that. Now it doesn't exist anymore.
Is there a new way to search for french book? Anyone here could help us search the store for a specific language?

The OP was quite correct. This is a shortcoming and it has nothing to do with distribution rights as is suggested.

Family history/genealogy book by Ibooks Author

Hello,
At the moment I got a Family history/genealogy book in hardcopy (2003) it's 11 years old.
In these eleven years a lot of events happend. To get an updated family book I want to use Ibooks Author to create a digital version so you can added information to your book anytime.
I allready got all the current information till 2003 in a spreadsheet
I would like to know if there is a template/format to create digital family history book with Ibooks Author.
Specially for all the links between all the family members so they are clickable.

You can also contact Bookry or ibooks-widgets.com and other similar online outlets who are possible able to create a template to your specifications.
You could aalso take time to learn how to modify existing template to suits your purpose.

iBooks Author as an "Insert Hyperlink" function which covers, website, email, Book marks and Figures.
Portrait mode free templates may not be suitable.. but Landscape templates will only allow a short "tree" unless you use smaller print or sectionalise the families lines.

Authoreware Book into ibooks author

I am in the process of converting my book which was made in authorware to ibooks author. I need some info to be given to the graphic artist for layout, images and 3d animation work.
1. What should be the size and resolution for the layout (for cover page, content page)
2. What should be the format of images and maximum size of the images
3. What should be the format of 3D animation and 2D animation.
4. Is there any other information required other than the above mentioned?
From where can I get all the info.

I am using 3D graphics for my book too. I am almost finished and I might as well share some of my discoveries using iBooks Author.
1. So far I have read that you should make your images larger than the ratio of the ipad. Since the iPad 3 has a retina display (2048x1536) render images at this resolution, since iPad 2 will downsize it anyway. The cover image is 600x800. Since no one can actually zoom in on this image, it doesn't have to be HD like the other pages. (If you see a real ibook, it shows the cover for about 2 seconds and then opens the book).
2. I have read that JPG is the best image file to use since you can reduce the file size and keep the resolution while PNG you can't.
3. WIth the 3D widget, I think .OBJ is the file you can use.
4. All you need is iBooks author, assuming you have updated your mac to 10.7.2. You must have MAC OSX lion, ibooks author and download iTunes Producer (an app to send your book to itunes) iBooks 2 reader app and an ipad with iOS 5.1. Assuming you are going to make an interactibe book, you may need iWorks 09 to make Keynote stuff to add it. You will need an audio editor and a ePub compatible text editor to edit the code (XML) to add read aloud features. (Assuming you don't know what the next steps are, you will need an ISBN number first soon after you finished the book, second you need your tax id to enter into itunes account, bank account, and then you can submit book. I heard it takes from 2 weeks to 2 months to find out if it has been accepted or rejected. It can be rejected by simply having the word "iBooks" in your text, as an example).
Hope this helps, this is an overview of everything you will need to go from ibook author to published ibook. Here is another tip, you won't get much info on the deeper parts of ibooks author. You will have to learn them yourself or talk to someone who has already finished an ibook and get tips from many sources. No one source will have all the info you need, yet. Launcing books on ibooks

i purchased book from Appstore, but could not launch it on iBooks. The book kept dissapering as soon as i click on it on the shelf

Have you tried closing the iBooks app completely and then re-open and see if the book works : from the home screen (i.e.not with the iBooks app 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the iBooks app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
If that doesn't work then you could try a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.
You could also try deleting the book (via the Edit button on the bookshelf) and the re-downloading the book and see if that makes a difference

Well, to paraphrase the old line, "What're you gonna believe, that email or your own lying eyes?"
The first thing I'd recommend trying is to power down your iPad (press & hold Sleep/Wake until the red OFF slider appears, then slide it to shut down), and then boot it back up and try again. You're resetting a bunch of state signals by doing that and this simple action (the first of a series recommended by Apple in your Users Guide) will quite often clear up these sorts of problems.
