French translation program with grammar and spell check?

Does anyone know of any really good translation programs where you can write a document in english and the program will translate it to french? The program would also need to have spell and grammar checks. Thanks

I know that there's one on the dashboard. You can use google translate but you can't download that one.

Hi I recently got IMAC 21'' with OS X 10.8.5 .
I used to use Grammarly and Ginger it software in my previous window computer. For non english speaking person those softwares were very useful to edit ritings and email. Can anyone suggest whether I can install and use in my microsoft word in IMAC.
If not, are you aware about any other software (spelling and grammar checker) which is compatible with OSX.
I miss the ginger it . I love this MAc computer but miss to use those software. Any suggestions.

You can download MS Office 2011 (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) for $140 from Microsoft. You could also download Pages (the Apple analogue to Word that reads and writes Word formatted files) for $20. Some people are choosing to use LibreOffice, which is free and duplicates almost all of the Office 11 features. So you have several choices from expensive to free.

Program CL_RSD_MULTIPROV_CHECK========CP and form CHECK-03

Hi,
We have recently updated to SP 18 from SP 15.
We are facing a compounding Problem with Multiprovider and when we check we are getting the error:
program CL_RSD_MULTIPROV_CHECK========CP and form CHECK-03
We are not able to execute any query on this Multiprovider.
We implemented the note: 1252207 as mentioned in the Service market place. But still there is not resolved.
Please suggest any other possibilities to resolve it.

from wht you have written i understand the error now:
Since you have already assigned 0CALDAY in MP to 0CALDAY of CO-PA cube.
Now ,when you are trying to assign another IO also(0ACT_GI_DTE) to the same 0CALDAY, it is giving error.
Try:
when you see 0CALDAY in the time dim. on the left hand side,on the right side you should have both 0ACT_GI_DTE and 0CALDAY for you to select.Check them both there.

i did both of them, but still the while sending the mail the diolog box is not showing up and also the spelling and grammer does not do the spelling check.

Please move the 'SEND' and 'SPELL CHECK' options away from each other, and when sending, ask the question, 'Are you sure you want to send now?' Thanks

The send and spell check options are next to each other. I can not tell you how many times I hit the send button be accident. When sending, and question of 'Are you sure you want to send now?', should be asked.

Actually, unless something has changed, you can set Thunderbird to run an automatic spell check when you click Send. That might be your best workaround.
Tools menu > Options > Composition panel > Spelling mini-tab
(You can display the classic menu bar by tapping the Alt key)
It might also be possible to customize the toolbar, but I think this might be safer.
Regarding a general confirmation for sending, I noticed some add-ons for that, but I don't have any personal recommendations.

Bug? Mailto: in combination with Office 2013 Spell Checking.

For one of our sollutions we use the mailto protocol to send a hyperlink which users can use to automatically open a predefined new-email-window.
This works fine with Office Professional Plus 2010 [EN-US] (32bit) in combinatione with Microsoft Office Language Pack 2010 - Dutch/Nederlands (32bit).
However, Office Professional Plus 2013 [EN-US] (32bit), in combination with Microsoft Office Language Pack 2013 - Dutch/Nederlands (32bit), crashes whenever the spellingcheck is started.
The mailto-command we use to reproduce this problem is (enter command in Internet Explorer, open with Outlook):

During analyses we concluded:
- Office Configuration Analyzer Tool 1.2 (Full Scan) did not find any related issues.
- Spellchecker crashes while checking the text within the body.
- Uninstalling Microsoft Office Language Pack 2013 - Dutch/Nederlands solves the problem, but obviosly, we want to keep the Dutch spelling check functionality.
- Standard Englsh (U.S.) spellchecking functions without problems.
- This problem is reproducable on any computer running Office Professional Plus 2013 [EN-US] in combination with the Dutch (Nederlands) spelling check. Tried multiple hardware configurations (Intel based) and multiple OS's (Windows 7 Enterprise
(64bit), Windows 8.1 Enterprise (64bit), Windows 8.1 Pro (64bit). All with the same result.
Is there way to solve this issue, without loosing Outlook 2013 as client and Dutch Spelling Check capabilities?

A - Yeah, if you try to edit the mail and have 'check spelling as you type' activated, it wil crash as well.
Q - If we copy the email body and paste it to a new email message, will this issue continue?
Does this   issue happen with other Office 2013 programs? Please try to use 'spell check' in word and check if the same issue occurs.
A - If you copy the generated body to a new email or Word 2013, the spelling check will in both cases crash the application.
Q - In addition, we can also have a look at the event log to see if we can find anything useful.
A - The crash generates an "Application" "Hang error". I've generated 2 (1 with Outlook, 1 with Word):

Text and spell check in languages other than English

I am a linguist who writes papers primarily in English, but which contain a significant number of words and paragraphs in other languages. Is there a way (as there is in MSWord) to highlight these words and passages and choose a different language for them so that the spell checker does not see them as English misspelled words.
Even better would be for the spell checker to identify eventual errors in these paragraphs of foreign languages: However, when I choose EDIT > SPELLING > SPELLING... the spelling checker window has no button or menu allowing the user to select different languages or language dictionaries.
I know that Mail does it automatically for the languages provided. Is there anything comparable in Pages?
Most of the alternative languages I use are quite common, i.e. French, Spanish, Portuguese.

Use different language and Spell check

Hello, just got an iPad to supplement my two Android phones, and like it so far...
Except for one thing that drives me nuts...
The spell check. I live in Scandinavia, but like to use English as my interface language. This causes major problems, when I write something in Danish.
Is there any way to have English as the interface language, but use another language for spell checking?
Also, is there a way to use two different languages in spellcheck? Its really annoying to have English words pop up as suggestions when I write something in a different language and vice versa...

From a user perspective this is wrong UX and lacks total support for multi-national companies, especially when the (national) keyboard layout differs from the (foreign) keyboard layout that is being forced to use if one wants the spell check to be performed in the foreign languge.
Let's take the following example. My language settings are set to English because I want my interface in English. The used keyboard layout is Flemish (=Dutch) (AZERTY). When writing emails the spell check is performed in Dutch since iOS uses the keyboard related language. This is fine as long as I write emails to people in Belgium which do read and speak Dutch. However when I want to write English emails (and hence would like English spell check) I am forced to switch my keyboard to English (UK). This is not really OK as switching the keyboard messes up the layout I am used to work with (English -> QWERTY).
Essentially, the selected keyboard (and keyboard layout for that matter) shouldn't have any impact on the used language for the spelling check. To be honest I can't remember of any application/OS used so far that applies this logic.
I really do hope that this gets fixed in some way (e.g. by adding the option to select the spelling check language) in a future update of iOS.

Lion and spell check in Safari

I fill in a form on a web page then bring up "Spelling and Grammar" / "Show Spelling and Grammar." It brings up a word that it thinks is mispelled but the word is spelled as I intended so I click on "Ignore." The result of doing this is that everything that I have written disappears!
The same thing happens in Mail. If there are any mispellings in this I apologize - I'm now afraid to use spell check!
Is there some setting that I have set incorrectly, or is this a major bug in Lion? All worked correctly in my previous Snow Lepord installation.

How do I get the Iphone to recognize and spell-check in foreign languages?

How do I get Ipohone to recognize messages I am writing in foreign languages and the corrently spell-check them? It is VERY annoying to have the English spell checker chanbge every word in a French messge!

Spell checking follows the keyboard, so select the appropriate keyboard.

Hyphenation and spell check not working

I'm having some issues going from CS4 - CS6, namely some functions that I struggling to get my head around.
My main issue however, is that I cannot get hyphenation or spell check to work. I have my language set to English: UK, however every word is underlined in red. Placeholder text defaults to Hebrew, I can solve that by holding down the cmd key but I wonder if this is part of the problem?
Hypenation is also not working at all.
I have tried my settings on Hunspell, Proximity and User Dictionary, but I can't seem to get it to work.
Any thoughts?

Language is a character-level attribute and is not related, at least not directly, to the choice of dictionary in the prefs. The dictionary choice simply tells ID which of the installed dictionaries it should use for checking spelling and hyphenation when it encounters that particular language, but does nothing to set a language anywhere.
Clearly your default language is set to Hebrew. To fix that you need to change the language with nothing selected. If you do this in an existing file, it will affect all new text in that file, but not existing text or other files. If you change the default language with no files open it will be set for all new files, but will not affect anything already existing. To change the language, just pick the correct one from the dropdown in the Character panel or Control panel.
To fix existing text it's probably easiest to use Find/Change and search for the incorrect language in the find formatting and change to the correct language in the change formatting. You'll find the language dropdowns under Advanced Character Formatting in those dialogs. You can use either a GREP or plain text query, and you can leave the find and change fields themselves blank as long as you've included something in both of the formatting areas.

AppleWorks and Spell Check

Since I started using OS X 10.5 when I purchased my current iMac, when I run spell check it will question my spelling (my typing errors) and I can select the correct word from the list of suggestions and replace it. However, if the word is not in the dictionary it will not "learn" the new word. That option is not available. Can I fix this problem or is this function not supported in the newer operating system?

There are a couple of common causes for this.
1. You haven't "told" AppleWorks where the dictionary is. With a word processing document open, go to Edit > Writing Tools -> Select Dictionaries... > click "Main Dictionary" (if it isn't already clicked) > Choose > & navigate to the dictionary which should be in HD > Applications > AppleWorks 6 > AppleWorks Essentials > Dictionaries. The same process is used to create a user dictionary. Click "User Dictionary" then click "New" -> Save.
2. You have moved the AppleWorks 6 application out of the AppleWorks 6 folder where it needs to be to find the AppleWorks Essentials folder.

Help with ON and OFF check boxs

I have 2 check boxs one with no and one with yes.
Can anyone tell me what the code would be to do the following.
When I click on NO then click on YES I need to turn the NO off, and then when I click on YES it will turn NO of

I think this is the job of the ButtonGroup class which you can use with JRadioButton.
But I'm not sure you can do this automatically with JCheckBox. You'll have to add a listener for each checkbox and enable/disable the checkbox according to which event was triggered.

Epiphany and spell checking [Solved]

Any of you great people got spell checking enabled in epiphany 2.26.2-1. I can't seem to enable it.
I have had a look in about:config and added "en_GB" as my dictionary (also tried en_US ), but nothing.
As far as I can see it uses enchant for spell checking, as does abiword and the spell check in abiword is working fine.
Any ideas?

I got it working
I had to add the line
user_pref("layout.spellcheckDefault", 1);
in ~/.gnome2/epiphany/mozilla/epiphany/prefs.js
That option is frozen out when you try to change it in about:config
I also had to reboot (but a logout/login probably would have worked), because after editing my prefs.js file epiphany wouldn't load any pages or about.config.
My only disappointment is that epiphany doesn't offer suggestions for misspelled words... yet.
But at least I know now when is something is wrong.
