French version of Adobe Digital Editions to download

Hello, How do I get to the French version of Adobe Digital Editons to download? I have the English version but I have to get a French version for someone else. Thank you.

Or do the settings of the pc itself affect which language is installed? Thank you.

She downloaded version three and I have an account and a password - was not able to transfer my books from my reader to version three (and I don't like the lay-out - I would prefer to stay with the old version as I also loose all my download date info..)
But all the books I have bought over the last three years are in the old Adobe Digital and I cannot access them any more. When I use it I get the message "that the document is licensed to a different account. I can't even open the books on my computer.
When I go to my Kobo library, I cannot also not open my books and get the message "this doc is protected by adobe digital rights management and is not currently authorized for use with your adobe. please sign in with your authorized adobe id and try again"
I believe the problem is that I do not seem to have a digital id for my old adobe or that the Kobo is not in sync with it anymore.
can you please help me - going on vacation in three days and cannot go without books.

How do I open a acsm file with the newest version of Adobe Digital Editions

I purchased an ebook that was delivered in the the Adobe .acsm format. When I downloaded it, I specified that the Adobe Digital Editions as the app to open the file. ADE launched, loaded my old books but the new book was not loaded. I also tried to load the book from the ADE, but the book shows up as a grayed out item that I cannot select. I am running the book reader on a Mac running OS X 10.5.8 and have downloaded the lastest version of the ADE. Has anyone else had a similar problem? Thanks, Yvonne

I'm having the same problem. I have the latest Adobe Reader version, have Mac OS X 10.6.4, and I cannot open any .acsm file-old or new. I've also tried to load the book from the ADE, but the book shows up as a grayed out item that I cannot select. I've tried everything, but to no avail. I don't have any solutions, but wanted to let you know you're not alone in this problem.

My adobe digital editions 2.0 does not work. I've tried to download version 1.7 but it keeps me going in circles from one website to another. Even 2.0 won't download, What can I do?

Adobe Digital Edition, cannot download an e-book

I bought an e-book on KOBO and I try to download this book. It's an URLLINK (ACSM). Afther clicking on this link my laptop says that my computer is authorized but without an ID?
I have an Adobe ID already, but I do not know what to do now. Can somebody help me please?

Downloading to the ereader depends a little on the eReader.
Some very basic eReaders, and Kindles, do not support Adobe DRM, in which case you cannot read such books on that reader.
Most dedicated eReaders should show up in the left panel of ADE when they are plugged in to the USB.
You might need a special driver, eg for Sony eReaders a driver is installed with the Sony Reader software.
Some don't work correctly on ADE2.0, in which case try using the older but more reliable ADE 1.7.2 instead (see bottom of post).
Once the eReader does show up in ADE, you will need to authorize the eReader (menu-Library-Authorize Device on 1.7.2, setting to the left of the device in 2.0).
You should then be able to drag-drop books onto the device from within ADE.
For tablets uses as eReaders you need an appropriate eReader app.
Post again if your ereader is a tablet.

to the website for Bluefire Reader and Overdrive to see if they have
versions that would work?

Problems with an older version of Adobe Digital Editions.

When I try to download a book from Kobo, I get this error message: Error geting licence. Licence server getting communication problem. E_LIC_ALREADY _FULFILLED_BY_ANOTHER_USER.
Does anybody know how to fix this or is there a solution.

Hi I am running Ubuntu version 13.10, I can't find a version for Linux to download for Adobe Digital Editions.
Is there one that exists ?
Or do I have to go to windows to get this ?

If you look at that thread posted above you will discover that in fact the answer is NO. There is no Linux version of Adobe Digital Editions - there is an OLD Windows version that you can run in Linux using WINE. Adobe Digital Editions sucks. DRM sucks.
From June UK residents will have a legal right to make copies of ebooks for personal use, and 'format shift' these if they so choose, hopefully this will encourage publishers to abandon this hopeless crippled and crippling technology - the analogy I like to use is to imagine if you could only read a paperback if you were wearing a particular pair of glasses.

No, not if our staff is trained to use the newest Adobe Acrobat (trainings are usually for the newest versions) and uses that to produce forms. Now the files open correctly. But what will be in some months or years? Do people working on Linux do have to print the forms then again to fill in?
So do you recommend that we stop the process of producing electronic forms and stay with paper-fill-in forms? Is that the goal of Adobe? (maybe not so clever for your "financial viability"?!?!? ... ein schuss ins eigene bein?!?!)

I can’t seem to download Adobe Digital Editions for Mac because my OSX is 10.6.8 and it says it requires 10.7...is that right?

Updated book download problem in Adobe Digital Editions

Problem:
I have downloaded a book in Adobe Digital Edition. it downloaded successfully. But after some days vendor emailed me to re-download the same book, becuase it has some invalid content. I tried to re-download the book, but it is showing old book. On the other hand i download the same book on another computer, i got new book. is it Adobe Digital Editions problem or something else?

You need to download the book, which will come as a .acsm file which is a pointer to the content rather than the content itself.
You then need to open the .acsm file with ADE; that will force download of a .epub file which contains the real data (encrypted if it is a DRM book).
You may well then find that you have two copies of the book on your computer and showing up in ADE, both the old and the new.
You can delete the old one if you are sure you don't need it.

Is there an Adobe digital Edition version suitable for Booq Verne -android-?

I would like to know if I can install a version of Adobe Digital Edition in my Booq Verne, Android based. I've buyed some epub book and all I get is an .acsm or a ashx file that only can be opened with the mentioned software. The ADE doesn't allow me to save the book in another format, as you know.

Not as such. However there are a few apps that will let you read DRM books.
Check out in the reader store
DL Reader: that one has worked best for me
Overdrive: could be good for library books, sometimes stroppy about getting your Adobe ID registration working
DReader: I couldn't get it to behave, but might be worth trying for you
