Frequency in Continuous counting Vs Cycle Counting

In Cycle Counting we can specify how many times a material can be counted via CC Indicator
1. Just wanted to know reg Continuos inventory counting, how do we specifcy frequency of counting of Bins ???
How does it proposes bins in LX16?
2. Might not be logical in business point of view, if we set a storage type cycle count relevant, can i perform conntinuous counting for any bin ?? as i aware it only proposes those bins in which materials without cc indicator set, am i right?
Thanks

Continous inventory means you count any bin in your warehouse just once in a fiscal year.
There is no proposal, you define outside SAP which bin you are going to count when. And you usually submit this info to your internal and external auditors in the beginning of the fiscal year, as they usually want attend at one of the counts.
Continous inventory does not care about CC indicators, it even includes those materials that would be subject to cycle counting.
Only effect is the the material counted in a continous inventory may be at a later time  in the  next CC inventory proposal

  • Urgent help on cycle count

    Hi,
How can i do Itemwise cycle count irrespective of the locations
    Scenario:
Item ABC is lying in multiple warehouses. While physically doing the cycle count for Item, the exercise is carried for all warehouses where the item exists.
i.e Itemwise cycle count irrespective of the locations.
    Thanx in advance.
    Regards
    Rasika

    Hi Rasika
    First define the Cycle count
    Path:
    Admin=>Setup=>Inventory=>Inventory Cycle
    Fields(Name,frequency,alert,time)
Connect this cycle count to the Item Group
    Path:
    Admin=>Setup=>Inventory=>Item groups (Cycle count field)
Connect the corresponding itemgroup to the items
Now you can see in the Inventory tab of item master data the cycle count details
On the particular date and time it will give u an alert
Now you can go to the Inventory=>Inventory transactions=>Initial quantities
    In the Inventory tracking tab:
Enter the counted in whse against the item
If there is any difference in the quantity stored with the quantity counted it will make that difference in the stock posting
Once you had updated the stock posting it will post the difference (i.e, it will update the stock as well as the valuation)
This u have to do individually for  the different warehouses
    HTH
    Have a nice day

  • How does cycle count recommendation works.

I setup my cycle count codes as well as assigning them to the item master, when I run cycle count recommendations there are lots of items need to be counted. Here are my questions
    1.     Where do I go to enter the new counts?
    2.     When I enter the count do I enter the difference or what I counted?
    3.     When Do I flag the items counted on cycle count recommendation screen?
    4.     When I am doing cycle counting some transactions could take place at the same time how does system takes care of that so I do not over count or under count?
    5.     Can I get a report of all items which I flagged as counted regardless of qty on hand or not? I need this data for cycle count analysis.
I have the documentation from SAP but I cannot see these steps.
    Thank You

Your question is too long. One question for one thread. This is forum rule. Although it can still belong to one big question, it is better spitted to more.
    For first 2 questions:
    1. Where do I go to enter the new counts?
Go to: Inventory -> Inventory Transactions -> Initial Quantities, Inventory Tracking & Inventory Posting
    2. When I enter the count do I enter the difference or what I counted?
    Enter what your counted.
    Thanks,
    Gordon

  • Cycle count listing Report not generating out put

    Hi Team ,
We are into 11.5.10.2 , We have set Auto schedule to weekly in cycle counts and cycle count is not generating output for cycle count listing in Production.
But, we are able to generate report output in Test instance and unable to generate in Production . We tried testing with same login in Production and Test Instance .
    Please advice
    Thanks
    Kiran

Also please confirm that the CC calendar and other CC related setups are exactly same from the PROD and TEST instances.
Also make sure that you are running the report for the same INV org.. as there is no Input parameter for the Org in the report input but it picks from the MFG_ORG_ID profile value, which gets assigned when you loginto the responsibility.. You can confirm the selection by Chane Instance Org and select the Inv org and then run the report..

  • Cycle count posting flags

When Do I flag the items counted on cycle count recommendation screen?
Do I do that before going to inventory posting screen or I do that first then goto inventroy posting or if just goto inventroy posting and do the posting system will update the next cycle count date.
    Tkx
    Shawn

    hi,
You have to do 2 things for this.
As how i previously said, please keep some inventory cycle in master data, and also activate alert for that cycle.
So system will remind you about the counting according to the inventory cycle.
Now you have to physically check the quantities, after locking your warehouse in system.
Then after counting open cycle count recomendations and keep SET AS COUNTED.
    Now open INVENTORY-INVENTORY TRANSACTIONS-INITIAL QUANTITIES,INVENTORY TRACKING,INVENTORY POSTING.
    In that open INVENTORY TRACKING
In the desired item select counted and enter the counted value in COUNTED IN WHSE field
    Then update,
Go back and select the INVENTORY POSTING
Now enter the value of item cost and reconcile
Now you had counted and entered th inventory.
Hope this will be your solution.
    regards

  • Cycle Counting procedures in ECC 6.0

    HI all.,
SUB: Cycle counting in ECC 6.0 with WM implemented
    Ref : Industry : Apparel
What would be the differences in the cycle counting procedure working on Version 4.6C and ECC 6.0.?
In 4.6C , we normally change the indicators of A,B,C or D in OMCO and set the parameters of frequency of cycle counting , say yrly, half yearly, quarterly or monthly.
Would the cycle counting procedure be the same with ECC 6.0?
I understand that from Version 5.0, we can do cycle counting without freezing the book stock i.e have open transfer orders unlike in 4.6C wherein we have to stop GR or GI at the time of cycle count.
Is the procedure same in ECC 6.0 ?
Do educate further on the Cycle count procedure for ECC 6.0 with WM implemented for an AFS related industry.
    Thanks

    Hi,
Try this it worked for me though,
    1. Goto SPRO_ADMIN
    2. Select the Project
    3. Choose Change
    4. Go To Transport Requests TAB
    5. Activate CTS Functionality
    6. Save it after the Pop Up
    7. Go to Se10 and check if the Project Field is getting Populated with the Desired Project or not.

  • Cycle Counts in 11.5.9

Running a cycle count by period. Cycle count was established to start on 27-Aug-07. Created the Perform full cycle count (Report Set) which runs every month...however in September the auto schedule in the cycle count form has the next date as 24-Sep-07 yet the report set which is set to run monthly will run on the 27-Sep-07...and this disconnect will continue month after month. Did I miss something obvious in set up or is there no way to have the report set in synch with auto schedule on the cycle count?
    Thanks in advance.

Please also verify the owner and permissions of the 'oracle' binary under the RDBMS Oracle Home bin directory to verify that it has the proper owner and permissions. • Cycle Counting is not fetching All Items in Different Classes

    Hi All,
My client has performed cycle counting. Ideally system has to fetech all the items in different classes. But in cycle counting listing report only able to fetch few items.
Please let me know are we missing something ?
And please let me know the significance of "Assign Items". How to put the same.
    Regards,
    John
    Edited by: 911765 on Mar 14, 2012 4:36 AM

    1) CC won't fetch all items in all classes.
It will look at only those items that are present in the assign items screen.
It will only consider those items which have cycle count enabled flag set to Yes in item master
It will only consider those items that have a non-zero frequency for the ABC class of the item.
It will only print those items that have some onhand if you run the CC to ignore zero onhand items.
    2) You can either manually add items to a CC in the assign items window.
    OR
You can reinitialize or update the CC (by going to the 3rd tab on CC screen)
Make sure that you have run ABC compilation so each item has a ABC class. You should also specify the frequency for each ABC class.

  • Perform Full Cycle Count - No Data Found

I am trying to initialize a full cycle count for all items in a subinventory. I have a recent ABC compile set and a new cycle count setup. A, B, C and D classes are all set to count 1x per year. I have verified that all items from the compile are no in the cycle count. I submitted a "Cycle Count Scheduler" request and ensured that it completed. I then set all the parameters in the "Perform Full Cycle Count" request and set to save to file. After it completes and I view the output, the file says "No data found". My only recourse is to dump all items from Material workbench and use Data Load to enter them in ( a bit tedious for 900+ items). Is there anything I need to be doing different?

You mention that you have done the ABC setups.
But in Cycle count setups, have you defined a cycle count schedule?
And more importantly, in cycle count classes, have you entered the frequency at which each class should be counted?
Last but not the least, what is the last count date (on the serial and schedule tab)?
If it is today, you will have to wait till tomorrow.
    Hope this helps,

  • New HDD Load / Unload Cycle Count increasing extremely fast !

    Hi all
I just upgrade my Pavilion dv5 HDD. The new model is Hitachi Travelstar 7K500 (HTS725050A9A364). However, I found my new HDD's Load / Unload Cycle Count increasing extremely fast!
Until now the number of Load / Unload Cycle is 12,127. However, the new HDD only power on 137hours. (About 1 week of my use.)  The data below is my new HDD's SMART data (by EVEREST 5.50):
    ID
    01    Raw Read Error Rate    62    100    100    0
    02    Throughput Performance    40    100    100    0
    03    Spinup Time    33    159    159    2
    04    Start/Stop Count    0    100    100    14
    05    Reallocated Sector Count    5    100    100    0
    07    Seek Error Rate    67    100    100    0
    08    Seek Time Performance    40    100    100    0
    09    Power-On Time Count    0    100    100    137
    0A    Spinup Retry Count    60    100    100    0
    0C    Power Cycle Count    0    100    100    14
    BF    Mechanical Shock    0    100    100    0
    C0    Power-Off Retract Count    0    100    100    1
    C1    Load/Unload Cycle Count    0    99    99    12127
    C2    Temperature    0    152    152    19, 36
    C4    Reallocation Event Count    0    100    100    0
    C5    Current Pending Sector Count    0    100    100    0
    C6    Offline Uncorrectable Sector Count    0    100    100    0
    C7    Ultra ATA CRC Error Rate    0    200    200    0
    DF    Load/Unload Retry Count    0    100    100    0
I'm pretty sure that the data is correct, because I can hear the HDD's Load / Unload sound very frequently. The C1 row increase about 2,000 per day.  However my previous Hitachi 5K320 has no problem. The running operating system are both Windows 7.
I'm so worry about this. As you know, laptop HDD's L / UL Cycle is designed at 600,000. If my HDD continue increasing like this, it will reach this number in a very short time. Any one can help me?

It's a feature of modern 2.5" harddisks , the disk parks the head when its been inactive for a while, to avoid damage , uses less power , and reduces the heat etc gives the harddisk a better looking spec sheet , its meant to park its head after being inactive for a long time around an hour with proper management from the bios/os of the head parking feature, because there is nothing to manage this feature in hp's bios or os the disk parks the head about every minute for no reason then after 1 second the head goes back on the disk thats 1 load/unload cycle , it also effects performance as the head has to find its place back on the disk , load times will decrease by alot , videos will stutter the first few secs, i have the same problem but not as bad after 130 hours i had a count of around 1,250 load/unloads , different brands of disk have different idle timers plus i use utorrent which stops the harddisk from idling so much, there are a couple of solutions, you can find a tool to update/mod the harddisk firmware to increase the idle timer ( i decided against this as you can permently brake the harddrive and void the warrenty) , contact hp and request a bios update with proper management or the harddisk head parking feature i.e tell the harddisk it is idle after an hour, the temperary solutions are download hd tune and run it all the time this stops the harddisk from parking its head as it doesn't let it go idle , or the solution i am using at the moment download a programme called HDD scan , everytime you turn on/off  you have to run the prog go to tasks/features/ide features set the advance power management from its default value to 254 then press set, no more unnessary load/unloads, downside is the disk runs a couple of 0c hotter mine still never goes above 40c even under full load thanks to a active cooling pad, also its less well protected against shock.

  • Physical Inventory vs. Cycle Counting

    Hi Experts -
In the absence of the Cycle counting indicator and ABC Analysis is it safe to say that Cycle Counting is not a relevant scenario?
Physical inventory is different PI doc > Count > Recount > Clear differences.
What is the standard functionality if both the ABC and CC indicator is not set?
    Thank you.

    Hi Gary,
you are right if the CC indicator is not set in the material master then cycle count is not a relevant scenario. Cycle count is one of the method however you can define the system for Continuous count or Annual inventory  in addition to both the option you can also activate
PlcmntInv(Continuous inventory upon placement into stock)
ZeroCkin (Continuous inventory based on zero stock check during removal of stock from bin)
The normal Physical inventory process is
    Create & Activate a PI Doc (LI01N)---- Count (LI11N) / RecounT (LI14, if required)------Clear difference in WM(LI20) ---Clear difference in IM (LI21)
SPRO-----LE---WM ---ACTIVTIVES----PHYSICAL INVENTORY ------DEFINE TYPE PER STORAGE TYPE

  • How does Mac OS calculate the charging Cycle count?

    Hello, Guys
How does Mac OS calculate the charging Cycle count? I just used my MBP for about 15 min without power plugged in and I saw it left about 90% battery. However after the battery be recharged, I checked system profiler. It shows charging cycle count increased 1. I do remember that last time I left almost the same percentage of battery and plugged in. After the battery was fully charged, profiler did show cycle count increased.
So I am wondering How does Mac OS calculate the charging Cycle count? Basing on the percentage left or something else?
    Thanks,

    Ok,
But does it count continuously or separatly? I mean One time I used 10% and recharged full; and next time I used 20% and fully recharged again. Does the OS increase the cycle count when the usage adds up to 100% no matter how many times of recharge?
    Thanks,

  • MacBook Pro 2011: Inconsistent cycle count for battery

    hi folks,
i observed some strange behavior of the cycle count reported by the system.
when i got the machine the count was at one.
after loding the system twice the count was already at 6 cycles. (i really attached the power cord only twice and the system got continuous power. once i observed the the cycle counts changed while being on battery).
did anybody observed that behavior as well?
    thx
    stlei

The way the cycle count work is by percentage... eg if the computer runs on battery it has a 100% charge when full. If you discharge it 20% consider that 0.2 of a cycle count, these small percentages do add up. Now if you keep your computer plugged in all the time and you are experiencing these weird cycle counts and honestly have kept the adapter plugged in ALL the time, then please try to do a SMC reset (Shutdown the computer and make sure the charger is plugge in. Hold down the left shift key, the left control key and the left option key. Once those are held down press the power button, release the power button then the keys. Wait 5 seconds and boot up the machine.) If you are still having issues please call 1-800-APL-CARE... Apple is investigating strange hardware issues and the engineers would like to take a look at your computer.

  • Serial number issue - Cycle count

    Hi,
One of the employees in my organization commited a mistake by posting cycle count differences on consignment stock with incorrect serial numbers.
Some of these serial numbers have a correct post goods issue to other production orders. & then they have been incorrectly assigned to other materials in stock replacing the correct serial numbers by cycle count.
How do I correct the serial numbers?
Should I  try to do another cycle count to correct this issue? What are the repurcussions if I  increase the cycle count frequency so that I can do a cycle count?
How else can I solve this issue?
    Sincerely,
    Nicky

    Hi,
I tried cancelling the cycle count document through transaction MI02 but it did not work.
Can I cancel a cycle count document after I have posted the difference? Is MI02 the transaction to be used for cancelling a cycle count doc?
    Sincerely,
    Nicky
