I am not sure if I understand the question correctly, but if you are asking what I think you are asking, then you can restrict the number of simultaneous concurrent jobs that a user is allowed to run with this profile option;
"Concurrent:Active Request Limit"
I recommend that you set this at the User level and not the Site level since this parameter has caused problems for me in the past (certain types of transactions submit a batch of concurrent jobs, and if all the jobs are not able to start at the same time then the concurrent jobs go into a pending state and never complete. I have not worked out why this happens, so I just stopped restricting the number of concurrent jobs that a user could run).

Frequent crash on iPad 1

iOS Ver: 5.1.1

As advised in many forum thread, I had it set to factory default and without any content or app, it's still crashing.
I am feeling frustrated.
Should I downgrade it from 5.1.1 to original iOS?
I don't care if I don't get to use iCloud for i want this stupid to stop crashing on me.
With original iOS it never used to crash.
With new iOS release, apple made it worse rather then making it any better.
Now, I don't know how to downgrade it as I don't have original backup.
Do you think at genius bar they can downgrade it?

Same CRASHING issues :( iPad model 1,1 - OS version 5.0.1 (9A405). Diagnostics & Usage Data plists NUMEROUS Low Memory (which i clearly do not understand LOW Memory since there is 61GB's free memory remaining on my iPad). Safari crashes daily but not as frequently as ONE particular 3rd party app (www.Breaktimestudios.com - Pocket Potions). I have submitted an issue report to Break Time Studios and they have contacted me requesting crash/plist reports - which I have submitted to their technical department but still no resolution from even their techs. The only offering from one of their techs is "connection glitches"... Ya right!! (HaHa) I really wished that Apple thru their iTunes Sync could have a Run Diagnostics Test option to check for even hardware issues & options that could resolve issues or offer suggestions if there happened to be a App/Software issue.

Why does a program run in one account but not another?

I am trying to run Prism (from graphpad) on my macbook pro. The application is hosted on a server accessed using an adress beginning with smb:// . I have copied the application shortcut to the dock and am able to run it absolutely fine on one user account. In my other user account, the program starts and goes through an initialization screen, then freezes (colourwheel when the mouse is over the menu bar). This application has run fine for the last 18 months, and has only now developed a problem. I have spoken with our institute's IT professionals, and they have suggested some things, but none have worked. My network connection is stable and, as far as I can, I have repaired all permissions.
Any ideas? I really, really don't want to have to flip between accounts to use this somewhat essential graphing program!

How to Communicate with Programs running on AIX server Using LabVIEW.

We have an IBM AIX server on which some programs are running which basically perform some scientific calculations. I am required to send the inputs to the calculation from a VI on windows system and get back the results on the VI. I do not have any idea on how to do this.
But i heard that there is a tool ( not developed in LabVIEW) developed by my customer which can communicate with the AIX server thro Java Classes.
So i tried exploring APPLETVIEW which supports java and LabVIEW but i am confused.
Is there any way to achive this interfacing between AIX and LABVIEW?.

Hi Vilas,
How you may communicate with you AIX server may very greatly depending on what is running on your server. Here is a link to another thread where Java calls and AppletView were discussed. It contains a link to the company that makes AppletView, so it may have some good information for you.
Also, if your customer suggested you use AppletView and they developed it, they would probably be your best bet for explaining it to you.

TS4036 My contact changes on one device are not automatically updating to my others. I have the iPhone 4, MacBook Pro & the latest iPad. All are running on iOS6 and use Safari. What am I missing?

Contacts are not syncing on my MacBookPro, iPhone4 & my iPad.

On iOS devices, go to Settings>icloud, be sure each is connected to the proper icloud account and that the Contacts on/off switch is turned ON. Check a similar things on the mac (system preferences).
Also, contacts are listed as being either in the "iCloud" group or the "On My Mac" (or iPad, iPhone). Anything in the "On My Mac" (or whatever device it is) does not sync via icloud, only contacts in "iCloud" sync.

Hi, can you please specify what type of iPod devices are you testing with?
Older iPod and iPads have very limited RAM, and application can run out of memory. We would have to look at what model of iPod touch it is, and see if it has enough RAM to run the app.

Interaction Between programs running on 2 JVM

I need to send certain data (primitive/objects) from a program running on one JVM to another program running on a different JVM. And need to get a response back from the program running on second JVM. This process needs to be synchronous.
Is it possible to achieve this by deploying a servlet on second JVM? If yes how?
And is there any better method to achieve this?

Without knowing your exact problem i'll bet it can be solved with RMI (Remote Method Invocation).
RMI uses protocol so was designed for communication between Java programs on seperate machines, but is just as effective when both programs are running on one host.

IPad (original) running 5.1.1 crashing apps

Hoping someone can help. I have a second hand iPad 1 which was running fine until I updated it to 5.1.1. Now it crashes apps every couple of minutes and is basically unuseable. The app that crashes the most is actually Apples own app, the App Store. I see I am not the only one having this kind of problem. I have closed all open apps, "reset" using back and home buttons, and even restored the software before restoring the iPad from my backup. It still crashes. Unsure what to do next. Any ideas?

Can I say, don't bother hoping that they can fix it?
I've got my firmware restored 4 times, and the app store still crashes.
But my iPad2 running on 5.1.1 doesn't seems to be having this issue.
And so does my wife's iPad3.
It gave me an impression that they wanted to abandon the original iPad support discreetly... unless someone can provide me a satisfactory answer AND a solution.

There are a few things that you could try. First try clearing Safari's cache : Settings > Safari > Clear Cookies And Data and also Clear History
If that doesn't work then try closing Safari completely and then re-open it : from the home screen (i.e. not with Safari 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the Safari app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
A third option is a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

Frequent Crashes - Running, Exiting, While in Block Diagram...

I am suffering from frequent crashes and lockups of LabVIEW 8.5 Base version. I have not been able to pin down the root as the occurances may happen when my program is running , or when I try to exit, or when working in a block diagram. It seems like it is more likely to occur in and around vi's created using the dll conversion wizard. The vi's are for the API for Silicon Labs CP210x USB to UART configuration. In my test the device powered on an off several times and so appears and disappears several times, and this gets repeated as new devices are tested.

Are you using the Import Shared Library Utility from Tools >> Import >> Shared Library (.dll)? This is a tool within LabVIEW that can be used to convert shared libraries to VIs.
In response to your most recent question, by controlling or adding a timeout for the COM (USB) communication you would be able to stop a portion of the process or the entire VI. This is because when the timeout value is exceeded this initiates an error which will propagate to the subsequent code and prevent any further operations from executing. In order to stop this error chain from continuing to the end of the code a General Error Handler VI can be used with the COM timeout error code wired to the 'exception code' terminal to ignore this error for future code execution.

5.1.1. is the end of the line for the original iPad. You can't go beyond that. As for the safari crashes, is it tied to specific websites? Have you tried clearing the cache and history?

That crash appears to be casued by the Facebook plug-in.
Create a new account (systempreferences -> accounts or Users & Groups on 10.7 and 10.8), make a new Library in that account, import some shots and see if the problem is repeated there. If it is, then a re-install of the app might be indicated. If it's not, then it's likely the app is okay and the problem is something in the main account.
