Frequent problems when trying to leave a review in the App Store

Why does the App Store repeatedly ask for my password, not letting me leave a review for an app?  It's very frustrating.  The app asks me to leave a review, but I can't write one because I'm in an annoying circular pattern of being asked for my password, I enter it and it repeats.  There's never a problem with my password when I'm purchasing something!

It seems to me that your nickname from the iTunes Store on a computer does not necessarily carry over to the App Store on the iPad.
So I suggest simply re-entering your nickname.  Surely there is no harm in doing that.

    If you check for software updates using the App Store in OS X 10.8 and get "NSURLErrorDomain error -1100" the problem may be with your Software Update preferences. This is particularly likely if you were using a custom Apple Software Update server. To solve the problem, quit the App Store, move the following two files (if present) to the trash, restart, and only then rerun App Store updates:
    /Library/Preferences/com.apple.SoftwareUpdate.plist
    /Library/Preferences/com.apple.SoftwareUpdate.plist.lockfile

    I was recently trying to upgrade to mountain lion through the app store.  I have unreliable Internet from a cable company whom I will not name, but we all know who they are.  My Internet dropped while downloading the upgrade.  Once I went through the notorious unplug the modem/router and plugged it back in to gain Internet connectivity again, I could not resume. No matter what I did, the app store kept displaying "an error occurred." I am hoping that those with the same issue read this first to save them hours of skimming through the Internet to find a solution.  Here are the steps to take:
    1. Make sure you have reestablished Internet connection
    2. Chances are you got frustrated when you tried to resume/unpause the download and clicked the "X" to the left.  If so, select the "Store" drop-down menu from the App Store and select "View My Account." There should be an option to unhide your purchase.  You know what to do.
    3. There is also an option to  reset all warnings for buying and downloading under "View My Account." Do this, click "Done," sign out of the App Store and quit the App Store.
    4. Open the Preferences in safari and select Privacy.  Select "Remove All Website Data."  Just do it.
    5. Launch the app store and sign in.
    6. Now, if you "Check for Unfinished Downloads" everything works peachy.

  • Why can't I leave a review in the app store?

    I have many apps on my iPad, but I have never been able to leave a review.

    I currently have the same problem on iOS 7.1 on 4th generation iPad. This is happening over a period of weeks and multiple apps that I cannot submit reviews for.  I can go back in the "write review" of the app and the info is still populated and hit submit again but it does not work.  There is also nothing inappropriate in my reviews either.  I have done everything people have suggested to no avail like resetting my iPad.

    just tried to download logic pro on my imac which is running the latest version of mountain loin and it keeps crashing my mac out and restarting. im a little bit peeved as just spent over £100 on this programe.

    Try deleting the app using this free utility >  Uninstall your apps easily. MacUpdate.com
    That will remove all the associated files not just the app itself.
    Then re download the app.
    How to re download apps from the Mac App Store:
    Open the App Store. From the menu bar click Store > Sign In
    Click Purchases from the top of the App Store window.
    Select which apps you want to re download. Then right or control click where you see Installed  then click Install.
    Make sure and use the same Apple ID used for the original purchase.

  • I keep getting "hash mismatch" when trying to download Mountain Lion from the App store

    I've been trying to download the new Mountain Lion from the App Store & keep getting "hash mismatch" message. I was able to download on my 1 computer, but no luck on the 2nd computer, which is up-to-date on all updates & software. Support even put a fresh copy of the App in my account & I still get that same message. Someone suggested AppCleaner, but how do you delete the OS to re-install the new. Didn't think that was possible. Any suggestions - I've tried quitting & logging out of the App Store & even re-starting (several times)

    -  Temporarily disable anti virus software if installed.
    -  Apps such as Little Snitch, Net Nanny, and Hands Off can prevent apps from downloading including Mountain Lion.

  • I am getting Error code 100 only when trying to purchase Logic Pro from the App Store. Why?

    I have done all the regular trouble shooting, can download a free app just fine. I have more than enough money available for the purchase, but Logic Pro is giving me the error 100, and saying to contact I Tunes Support. I have, but don't really want to wait to start working on the projects I need to finish if there is a quick fix out there. Please help if anyone knows what's up? Thanks!

    Iʻm having trouble leaving a review in the iBooks store. I have an Apple ID and password and I sign in ok. I clicked Ratings and Reviews and I see other reviews there so I know it can be done. The website accepted my 4 star rating, but it is "grayed out" in the area for me to write a review. I tried cutting and pasting, and it seemed to accept my submittal but my review never showed up and it is a good review.
    When I click on "Write a Review" it shows "you have already reviewed this item" because it accepted the 4 star rating but not my written review. Anybody know what the problem could be?  Thanks a lot!!
    I have a laptop with Windows 8 if that makes a difference.

  • Tried to download a book from the app store and didn't upload but 14 pages

    I tried to download a book from the app store from my computer and when I clicked on it, it downloaded as an app on my ipad, but only 14 pages downloaded. After reviewing the comments on this particular purchase, others had the same problem and now we are all out the $12.99 it cost to purchase this product. Is there any way to get my money back?

    Delete the book from the iPad and download it again, directly from the iPad, not your computer. You will not be charged again for the download. See if the complete book downloads then. If not, either email Apple at the store or call the number they provide under support.

I even bought a couple of games but why with so many free ones?     Is the address on your iTunes account exactly the same (format and spacing etc) as on your credit card bill : http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1646 ? If it is then you could try what it says at the bottom of that page :
    If the issue persists, contact your credit card company and verify that they and any company they use to process credit card authorisations have the correct information on file.

    Whoops, I think I should have posted my message here...Anyway, I'm trying to download Bioshock Infinite from the app store but get a message saying I don't have enough disc space.  The game requires 30 G and when I look at my internal hard drive it shows 60 G free. 
    What gives?

    It means you do not have enough Space on your Device and need to create More Space on Your Device by Deleting some items off your device.

    Are you deleting by tapping and hodling down on the icon until it wiggles? Have you tried to deleting in in the settings? Settings>General>Usage>Storage>App(name)>Delete App.
    Try deleting in the settings and then reset your iPad. To reset rhe iPad, hold down on the sleep and and home buttons at the same time for about 10 seconds until the apple Logo appears on the screen.

    No, the app store sells Adobe Photoshop Elements Editor, not Adobe Photoshop Elements. It's a special version which has all the usual editor features, but nothing that would require the use of the PSE organizer.
    As for the part you don't understand, every camera in the world has its own raw format, and adobe's plug-in for processing camera raw (ACR) must updated constantly to include the new information for new cameras. In the app store the only way to update is to provide an updated download, so adobe would have to roll a whole new version of PSE every time there's an ACR update (frequent). So they opted to just not update the app store version from what it is when they first post it. Apple won't allow them to have you use help>updates the way you do in a normal version.
    As for mediaDatabase, there is a whole cottage industry of expanding what you can do with PSE by adding stuff to it. Most of these addons install into the Effects panel. To get them to appear you delete that file to force the database to refresh itself and find the new content. The app store version doesn't care about mediaDatabase (at least no app store version so far has done). You can delete that file and it never rebuilds and PSE just runs as it was without it, but it means you can't make new stuff appear in the effects panel or the graphics panel.
    Also, adobe generally makes downloads of outdated versions available for a while (right now you can download PSE 9 and up). However, those downloads require the use of a serial number, which you don't have in the app store version (only your apple ID). When a new version of PSE gets posted in the app store the old version goes away and you're stuck if you need to install it from scratch.
    On the plus side, the app store version is much tidier. Regular PSE strews stuff all over your hard drive and can't ever be copied or migrated after installation, while moving the app store version is like moving most mac programs--just drag it over to the new machine. So even if the download goes away, as long as you have an installed copy someplace you can copy it to a new machine.
    EDIT Also, you pay more for the app store version usually. You can often find the boxed version on deep discount at online retailers and big box stores if you shop around.
