Frequent tab in the Tray of the Home Page

I have upgraded my Curve to the 6.0 operating system. On the home screen there is now a "Favorites tab, Frequent, All, etc.... I want to get rid of the" Frequent" tab or at least get it to not populate that tray item or items Does anyone know how to do this?
I know how to clear it but I don't want it to show up at all

the tabs (favorites, frequent, all, media, download) are part of the theme that is currently installed on your Curve3G. This Theme is edited by RIM.
You can download and use other themes, you can find a few dozens here: http://forums.crackberry.com/f221/

• I just downloaded FF4 and now the "SEARCH" tab located at the center of my home page isn't functional. I unisntalled and reinstalled but the result is the same.

Question
I just downloaded FF4 and now the "SEARCH" tab located at the center of my home page isn't functional. I uninstalled and reinstalled but the result is the same.

I think what I did was right clicked on the toolbar when I went to the tab and properties to find out the name of it. I then opened the extensions and add-ons and found what it was there (I don't remember the extension)., You will find the mess involves the homepage tab you have. Click on your tool bar for customization and put the home page away. This doesn't remove it but it will stop bing from showing up. Instead, my tabs now go to a Google page but I can't put in a homepage. Instead I bookmarked Google to my menu bar and when I open a tab I just click that! Cheaper than a trip to a computer vet.
The only option you will have is to remove google, but if you do, you loose all your goodies. Though I did not try this myself, I fear saving your tabs, bookmarks , etc. will store with it, whatever this bing thing is. Hope this helps

• Why do I get multiple tabs when I go to my home page and the all display server error

When I click on my home page link 3 more tabs appear and say connecting very briefly then all the tabs say server error. My home page loads fine but always get the extra tabs when I click on it.

Check the home page setting.

• Why does the update change my home page and make Google so prevelant?

Several of the last "updates" involved the changing of my bookmarks and home page,. The so called update required me to spend more time in refreshing the browser to its previous condition. This is frustrating to say the least. Second why does the updated version of of firefox seem to favor google?

Normally, an update does not change your home page...
What did you home page change to? That might help identify the source of the problem.
I assume you have tried changing your home page back to your preferred site, either in the Options dialog or using one of the other methods:
* Startup, home page and download settings
* How to set the home page
Did that work at all? By "at all" I mean:
* Immediately after making the change, if you click the Home button, or launch a new window using Ctrl+n, does your preferred page load? Or is that ignored?
* Does the setting revert later in your session (you see in Options it has changed)?
* Does the setting revert after you exit and start Firefox up again?
* Is the problem only when you use your Firefox desktop shortcut?
With that information, it will be easier to recommend a solution.
I'm not sure I understand your second question. Google has always been the default search provider in Firefox. Are you seeing even more Google than that?

• I do not see the Go To Database Home Page selection.

I do not see the Go To Database Home Page selection.
1 Logging in as the Database Administrator
The first thing you need to do is to log in as the Oracle Database XE
Administrator. Follow these steps:
1. Open the Database Home Page login window:
■ On Windows, from the Start menu, select Programs (or All Programs),
then Oracle Database 10g Express Edition, and then Go To Database
Home Page.
■ On Linux, click the Application menu (on Gnome) or the K menu (on
KDE), then point to Oracle Database 10g Express Edition, and then Go
To Database Home Page.
2. At the Database Home Page login window, enter the following information:
■ Username: Enter system for the user name.
■ Password: Enter the password that was specified when Oracle Database
XE was installed.
3. Click Login.
The Oracle Database XE home page appears.

That is really strange, actually the go to database homepage is going to the application express home page,

If you really cannot see this option, you can try to type the URL of apex and access it

http://localhost:8080/apex
The go to database homepage menu option should be below the "Run SQL Command Line" .

• New tab doesn't open as my home page

I have Google as my home page. When I click the + button to open a new tab, it doesn't load my home page.

It is in the search bar, but I want it in the search box - the one on the middle of the screen in the google home page.
If I could add 4 tabspaces to the command to automatically tab to the correct place it would work!!

• Firefox opens with a window that says "Checking for compatibility for Add-ons" then it always opens 2 tabs... one with my home page and one that says Congratulations, Firefox is up to date. How can I stop it from starting that way?

Firefox opens with a window that says "Checking for compatibility for Add-ons" then it always opens 2 tabs... one with my home page and one that says Congratulations, Firefox is up

Hi konee,
You should look at this article about that specific issue and the article Preferences not saved. These should give you all the information you need!
If that doesn't work:
# Type about:config in the address bar
# Click I'll be careful, I promise if prompted
# In the Filter input field type startup
# Double click on startup.homepage_override_url
# Delete the text string and click OK
# Close Firefox and reopen the window to verify that it has worked.
Hopefully this helps!

• After opening a new tab, when I click on my home page (the house icon), it duplicates and opens a second window...it's never done this before?

I just installed Firefox on a new laptop. Google is my home page. My opening tab is always Google. But, when I open a New Tab, it doesn't open in Google. So, I've always clicked on the house icon to take me straight to Google. Now when I do, TWO tabs open in Google. (it duplicates)

I tried all of the above, I've reinstalled Firefox and I've checked if value set to 3 in browser.link.open_newwindow which it is, but the problem still happens.
Regarding what you say re what is written in the article Tab preferences and settings, I understand what this means. However I am using FireFox in my work. I have a CRM where I constantly click on a button that automatically opens my order system on a new tab, or email templates in a new tab etc. The tab opens next to the tab I am currently on. However ever since I was prompted to Refresh Firefox earlier, it now opens these in a new window. Therefore the size of these pages has nothing to do with it, as this was not a problem before.
This is irritating, as no I have to go from one window to another, and where I have multiple tabs open it is making my life difficult.
Not happy!

• In Safari I can define what pages are loaded when I open a "New Window". How do I achieve the same in Firefox (and supress the current begavior of it opening all of the tabs that I defined as my home page all the time)?

I am returning to Firefox after having used Safari on Mac for the past year. One thing I liked about Safari was that I could define what page gets loaded when I used the File Menu command to open a new Browser Window. I defined this as opening up with my Bookmarks Menu where I then was able to select the page I wanted to go to.
I have not been able to find a way to define this in Firefox and was surprised to see that "New Window" in Firefox opens all of tabs that I've defined as my Home Page.
Is there a way to manage this?

This issue can be caused by an extension that isn't working properly.
Start Firefox in <u>Safe Mode</u> to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).
*Do not click the Reset button on the Safe mode start window or otherwise make changes.

plz say the way to set the speed dials which i set in home page whenever i open the new tab instead of blank page

Make sure the new tab feature is enabled:
* On the address bar, go to about:config (Just be careful)
* Set browser.newtabpage.enabled to true
To set the homepage to show the new tab page:
* Go to Firefox Menu > Preferences > General
* Set When Firefox starts to Show my Home page
* Set Home Page to about:newtab
So that a new tab opens the new tab page
* On the address bar, go to about:config (Just be careful)
* Set browser.newtab.url to about:newtab

• Need the new tab icon and need to move home page icon

Need what I had on previous versions of Firefox. Need new tab icon next to address bar, it is not under customize. Need to move home page icon to the same place. It is very annoying to have it on the right side the of web page, need to have it on the left side.

You can find the New Tab button showing as a '+' on the Tab bar.<br />
You can open the Customize window and drag the New Tab button that shows as a plus sign (+) from the Tab bar on another toolbar and it will become a regular toolbar button like the New Tab button that you have in Firefox 3 versions.<br />
If you can't find the New Tab button then click the "Restore Default Set" button in the Customize window.<br />
If you want the New Tab button at the far right end of the Tab bar then place a flexible space to the left of it.
