Frequently changing label printing requirements

hello there,
business scenario ; labels required for shipments, keep changing frequently and going forward this needs to be done in SAP. does anyone know how to address this issue ???

You can print shipping labels from SAP itself . The are configured under Value Added services in Warehouse Management. Most of the time you have to design your own labels using SAPSCRIPT or SMARTFORMS. Smartforms are recommended as you do not necessarily need ZEBRA printers to print labels.

I need to change the page setup to an unusual size for label printing

Hello. I'm trying to print a label that is 2" wide x 1-1/2 high. Firefox defaults to 8-1/2" x 11" or A4 page size and I've been unable to figure out how to change the default size to 2" x 1-1/2".
I've cleared all the margins to zero and removed all header and footer information. But how do I change the size to 2" wide x 1-1/2" high?
When I print, it will print the label correctly. However, it spits out 11" of labels instead of stopping at 1-1/2"
The printer is set up to accept the size (it's a Zebra label printer), but Firefox appears to be sending a page size that is different.
Any help here would be most appreciated.

Thanks for your answer. Instead of formatting through FireFox, I had to go in and format it via the printer. Duh! Feel stupid not doing this first. If any one else has this problem, I was able to set it up on the printer by going to Printers > Printer Properties > Printer Preferences and set it up. Good luck and thank you for your reply.

1. The smartform name is SD_PACK_ETIK.
2.Just copy the standard program into Zprogram and make chanes and assign in NACE with the form.
3.But,in smartform lable printing is not possible.
4.you can print barcodes.

Barcode label printing in LV7.1

Hi,
I'm currently implementing a barcode label printing function to a final test program of our products. I want high control of image placement etc. on the labels. Therefore I've made a .vi interface where the barcodes are printed with true type fonts. The front panel is then printed on our label printer. However, the output is no good since the string indicators changes the appearance of the fonts compared to the output from other programs. The spacings are a bit larger and the font looks a bit bolder -- the result is that the scanners have problems reading the barcodes.
I want to save my self some time by asking if anybody has any suggestions on how to print barcode labels?
I'm currently considering using the report tool since this prints the font correctly (I'm making test versions as I'm writing). However, gaining full control of the final layout seems a bit more troublesome. Another method could be generating images from LV and then print and dispose after creation -- this solution is however clumsy since it e.g. requires a set of images corresponding to the character table.
I'm using LV7.1 Dev suite and Code128B barcodes.

I've tried everything. I think the only solution is a new version of cocreate.dll.
However, I've made it work in another way... I run a VB script by issuing e.g.:

How do I change the printer options on an ipad air?

i am changing service provider. Currently they overlap. My ipad is happy to find the current old provider but cannot find the new provider even when i switch to that network. I cannot find any options for changing printer options. how can I change the printer option to access the new provider? i have 4 weeks to get the answer. Thanks

If you mean that the iPad is tied to another user's iCloud account, you have to ask them to erase the device for you. You can't do it on your own. The device requires their Apple ID and password in order to turn off Find My iPad and to delete the iCloud account.
IF you just want to sign into another Apple ID (not recommended either) go to Settings>iTunes and App store>Apple ID and sign out of that ID and sign into your ID,

Problem printing horizontal text in smartform with zebra Z6M label printer

The situation is this:
There is a Z smartform wich prints a label to a zebra Z6M label printer with the text and barcodes vertically.
The form have a command in the main windows with the parameter: S_LZPL_SETUP '^FWR'
This label works fine, but the client want to change the form, they have told me to create a new smartform and print the info horizontally, using the same printer.
The tests i have done are the following:
create a smartform from ground and write a template text and a barcode with a new font of system barcodes. the bardoce is shown ok(it is shown horizontally), the problem is that the template text is shown vertically, as in the original smartform.
then i tried on another zebra ZM600 label printer, similar model, but not the same, and the smartform printed was ok (text and barcodes shown horizontally). So i think is a configuration setting problem, but i dont know where to search.
i have checked the label printer parameters in SPAD, but didnt find anything souspicios.
have you any idea?

create a character format.
under standard settings give the bar code name
use this style in ur smartform. select the data field which u want to barcode print and assign the character format

Detailed information about SAP Barcodes
A barcode solution consists of the following:
a barcode printer
a barcode reader
a mobile data collection application/program
A barcode label is a special symbology to represent human readable information such as a material number or batch number
in machine readable format.
There are different symbologies for different applications and different industries. Luckily, you need not worry to much about that as the logistics supply chain has mostly standardized on 3 of 9 and 128 barcode symbologies - which all barcode readers support and which SAP support natively in it's printing protocols.
You can print barcodes from SAP by modifying an existing output form.
Behind every output form is a print program that collects all the data and then pass it to the form. The form contains the layout as well as the font, line and paragraph formats. These forms are designed using SAPScript (a very easy but frustratingly simplistic form format language) or SmartForms that is more of a graphical form design tool.
Barcodes are nothing more than a font definition and is part of the style sheet associated with a particular SAPScript form. The most important aspect is to place a parameter in the line of the form that points to the data element that you want to represent as barcode on the form, i.e. material number. Next you need to set the font for that parameter value to one of the supported barcode symbologies.

Multiple marketing labels printed on the same page

Hi Experts,
we are using marketing campaigns in order to get a label for each business partner that to target group. For printing the label we are using a form which we assign to the campaign at execution start time.
The problem is that we get a page for each business partner with its label printed, but what we want is 24 labels be printed on the first page, corresponding to the first 24 business partners of the target group, and so on with the rest of pages and business partners.
Does somebody know how to achieve it? Any suggestion?

Problem in continuous Material Label Printing

Hi Experts,
          I am using SAP Script for Material Label Printing and Dot-matirx printer for printing.
          There are 6 labels getting printed on a Page. There is no problem in printing but what happens,
          whenever there is a new material getting printed, it skips the current page and resumes the
          printing from new page.
          Example. there are 8 labels for a Material-1 and 3 labels for Material-2. 6 labels for
          Material-1 would print on 1st Page, the rest 2 would print on 2nd page. Now the 3 remaining
          labels for Material-2 are getting printed on 3rd page which should get printed on 2nd Page itself
          as there is space for 4 more labels on 2nd page.
          Please help me out on this.

every material there will be started an new sapscript (probably)
You will have to change your program that way that all materials and belonging data comes into 1 internal tab.
If you print this tab in 1 big loop (instead of a nested loop for everymaterial) everything will go fine.

Printing a PDF Object to Label printer from AS Java

Hello,
at the moment I am looking at a requirement to print from a Java application in a standalone single stack AS Java installation. Currently I would like to use the Adobe Document Services to print to a label printer (e.g. Zebra). This should all be done on the server side.
What I've found that there are hints how to do that using a FM in the ABAP stack. But a ABAP Stack is not available.
Any hints would be appreciated.

Have you checked to see if the "Print As Image" option is inadvertently checked? In the Print dialog, click the Advanced button then look for the checkbox.

Custom Label Printing - Print position creeps up and across labels

Hello
I am using VS 2010 and have updated to SP4 for Crystal Reports
I used the custom size option to make a label report. The built in options for label sheets do not match the labels that I have
I made a label report for 3 columns and 8 rows using the label size, margin widths top and bottom, left and right, with the 2 widths between the columns. But this does not print correctly on the labels. The printing on the label rows creep up so by the time you reach the 8th row the label is partly on the 7th Row. The left hand column prints correctly. the middle column prints closer to the left edge of the label than in the first column and the third column is printing on the gap between the 2nd and 3rd column.
I tried making a new report and set the dimensions to the maximum sizes that would allow 24 labels (3 columns and 8 rows) but the same problem occurs as when having set the correct sizes
I am not sure if there is a method to edit the label sizes, and margin widths as happens when creating a new report or if the only option is to create a new report.
Any assistance or information on how to make the labels print with the correct row and column spacing would be appreciated.
My Labels are 67mm x 36mm. there is no space betwwen the rows, the margin at the top and bottom of the sheet are the same, and the left and right margins are the same. The space between the columns is 2mm

There is no Avery template in the list that has 24 labels, which is why I was using the Custom Label
I have tried many variations trying different widths and gaps between the labels, but in all cases by the time the 8th row is printeed the printing has crept up and is now overlapping onto the bottom of the 7th row label. The third column is printing on the gutter between the 2nd and 3rd column.
When creating a Custom label it would appear that the Wizard works on Letter size Paper regardless of the paper size that the printer is set to. All my printers are set to A4 size paper.
Letter Paper is 215.9mm x 279.4mm compared to 210mm x 297mm for A4. While the width is not a problem the length is less, and that may well be what is causing the problem when the Wizard creates the labels, despite changing the Paper size to A4. But the paper size can only be changed and set to A4 after the wizard has been given the label size and spacing for margins and gutters.
In my view the Wizard should ask for the paper size and then ask for the label size settings and layout

Integration of Oracle Apps with the Third Party Label Printing Software

I am integrating Oracle Apps R12 with the third party Label Printing Software(Bartender).
For generating the Label, I have to create the XML file in Oracle Apps and with the help of Oracle WMS i have to transfer the XML file to the TCP/IP Port.
Third Party Label Printing Software will pick the file from the TCP/IP Port.
I am not able to find the way to send the XML file generated by the concurrent program to the TCP/IP Port using Oracle WMS.

I assume, i have already setup profile 'WMS: Label Print Mode' to Synchronous - TCP/IP.
Basically, you dont have to create any concurrent program for XML creation, Oracle will do it for you 'out of box'.
Also set 'WMS: Synchronous TCP/IP label request delay' to 100, this is a required step, though none of the documentation talks about it.
if you think that all the requests are not handled correctly, then you will need to increase this delay further.
Lastly, verify that the printer is setup correctly in Oracle (Place where you specify IP Address and port)

Label printing issue with chinese characters (SAP script)

Hi ,
I have a requirement to print chinese characters on label print out.
Here are the steps already tried:
1) Created a new device type which is copy if ASCIIPRI and character set 8400
2) Font ANDALE_S, CNHEI, CNSONG are assigned to device type, same fonts called in SAP script.
3) During the print, it is picking ANDALE_S font(observed in spool RAW data), but preview is good.
4) I put ZPL codes CW1,B:MSUNG.FNTFS in beginning of script and also ^A@N,50,50,B:MSUNG.FNT while prining actual chinese text in SAP script.
5) also tried other device types assigned to printer LZEBU2, LB_ZEB2 etc.,
6) already checked at printer DIMM level, SIMSUN, ANDALE_S fonts are already installed
7) Character set on printer is same as in SAP
So far no option worked, it default to Courier fonts while printing and it results garbage characters.
If anyone has ideas, please advice.

Hi,,
If the ZPL commands are correct for switching to the printer's internal CHinese font and character set, it may work to add the fonts via SE73 -> Printer Fonts -> ASCIIPRI . In here you need to add the commands in the print control SFxxx for your created font.
Another possibility is to print via windows and device type CNSAPWIN. Here it should not be necessary to add any font.

To create labels in SAPSCRIPT, you will have to define multiple MAIN WINDOWS in the Page Window.. try the following steps..
Main windows in page windows allow you to format text in multiple columns. Define an area in the page window, in which to position the main windows.
1. Create a page window and assign it to a page.
2. Choose Edit --> Main windows.
A dialog box appears.
3. Enter values in the fields Area width and Area height in accordance with the input guidelines for main windows.
4. Enter values in the fields Spacing and Number in the Horizontal group if you want to use multiple columns. You can ignore the fields in the Vertical group.
5. Determine how many columns and line areas are required for label printing. Then enter the corresponding values in the fields in the Horizontal and Vertical groups.

SimilaProducts with different printing requirements related to BOM

I have a product which is offered to many cutomers. However when we are offering we have to paste a sticker which contains different facts details based on the cutomer requirement.Do we need to create different item codes or is there a system to manage with single item code.
Note-Product is same except for the details printed on the sticker.

OK - I've tried an alternative PDF viewer, gv.
The print dialog of gv allows use of a print command, the default being lpr.
When printing like this, I get the same problem as with Acrobat and Okular.
Since printing with just lp worked from the console, I tried changing the print command in gv to just lp, and voila!
Going back to the console, I try using lpr and get the error messages.... so the problem must be with the lpr command.
Now I'll see if I can adjust the default printing command in the other viewers....
Anybody know why lp would work but not lpr, only for PDF files??
