Frequently sending "Awake-Message"

Hello,
I've CCMs monitoring up and running and get email-alerts if something gets wrong, as expected.
Well, if the Solution Manager is shut down (or if the SAP license has expired), the monitoring of course doesn't work at all.
So what I need is the Solution Manager to send me a message (twice a day) telling me that the Solution Manager itself is up and running. That could be an email-message with content "I'm Awake" each morning and each evening.
Is there a way to do this?
Best Regards
Danny Winn

If it can't go through as an iMessage for some reason it will go through as a regular text message. This frequently happens to me when I text my husband at his workplace, which has spotty coverage. For us it's fine because we also have an unlimited texting plan.

  • Producer leak in MessageProducer.send( Destination, Message ) ?

We have a client/server message passing system (using 3.6 SP3). The clients create temporary queues and the server replies in these queues. The server uses an unidentified MessageProducer (i.e., from session.createProducer( null ) ) to reply. Clients start up and shutdown frequently, but servers are long-lived.
The issue is that when the server calls MessageProducer.send( Destination, Message), there is a new producer created that never goes away (until the entire connection is closed). These show up in the output of 'imqcmd list cxn' as belonging to the server's connection, and are visible in the Java heap of the server process.
The destination is a TemporaryQueue, and it looks like producers might be getting cached based on destination. The client is deleting the TemporaryQueue on exit, and in the JMS server logs we see lots of warnings like " WARNING [B2081]: Destroying destination temporary_destination://queue/10.8.12.75/35033/4699 [Queue] with 1 active producers." (I missed finding that warning number documented anywhere.) But the producers don't go away.
Does anybody know if these producers that build up ultimately going to cause problems on the JMS server? Do they eat up resources and slow things down? Is there a way to stop this from happening (short of manually creating and destroying MessageProducers for each reply)?
    Thanks for any info.

The build up is on the client, vs server side (each maintain their own concept on producer). Destination/producer buildup does not directly cause a leak on the server side.
So, build on the client does not necessarily mean that memory is building up on the server.
On the server (broker) side, memory associated with the producers should be removed when the connections are closed or the destinations are destroyed. This occurs when:
    * the producer will be cleaned up when the connection using the producer is closed
(for autocreated, temporary and admin created destinations)
    * the producer (and destination) will be cleaned up with the destination is destroyed. this occurs when:
    Temporary destinations:
    * the receiving consumer connection is closed
    * (temp destination).delete is called by the receiving consumer
    Autocreated (non-temp) destinations:
    * all producers/consumers are gone and the destination is empty. This means:
    - the connection for any un-identified producers/consumers have been
    closed
    - other producers/consumers have been closed because either:
    - the connections are closed
    - (consumer).close() or (producer).close() was called for other destinations
    All destinations:
    * imqcmd or imqadmin was used to destroy the destination.

  • No Sender/No Message

I use gmail on my itouch.  Frequently I receive a series of messages, all the same message:
    (No Sender)
    (No Message)
    This message has no content.
    They are all dated 12/31/69
At first I thought they were kind of strange, and eerie.  Now I am a bit intrigued.  Has anyone else ever seen these?

    Hello Doug,
This has been known to happen to users on occasion.  As to why, I'm not entirely sure.  Many have been able to resovle it by simply doing a hard reset of their iPod.  To do this, press and hold both the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons together long enough for the Apple logo to appear.

  • LV: Sending "sync message" for getting synchronous CAN acquistion

    Hello @ all
First of all: My knowledge about the CAN bus in general is not so good, so excuse a possible unprecise problem description.
My task is to read out CAN messages of devices. This works fine for devices that send their messages "stand-alone" with a fixed repetition rate (here: 100Hz).
But other devices do not send their messages with such a repetition rate. They send their message only until they come in an overflow (here: after 150ms). I´ve heard that I have to send a "sync message" to the devices to get their message. That means, that I have to send the sync message with 100 Hz to get the 100 Hz acquistion.
My question: How should I have to program such a bidirectional CAN transfer? Of course, I can send one sync message and read the answer. But what to do when I want to read for example 10000 messages? I don´t want to trigger it by software due to the timer accuracy.
Do I just have to start the "CAN read.vi" and the "CAN write.vi" parallel? Or is there any possibility to start the write.vi and the read.vi at a fixed time, to get both functions parallel?
    Tanks so far.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Hi LittleJoe198,
I'm glad you got it running.
You are right about the Transmit  Receive same port example, timing is done in software using the wait function.
But the other example (CAN Transmit - periodic) sends the data periodically using hardware timing - specified by the control "Period (ms)". In this case a CAN object is used. Your card supports CAN Objects, so it is very easy to use hardware timing. Take a closer look at your CAN Hardware and Software Manual page 10-19 ff.
"Transmit Data by Call, Receive by Call Using Remote
Period specifies a minimum interval between subsequent
transmissions. Even if ncWriteObj.vi is called very frequently,
frames are transmitted on the network at a rate no more than
    Period. "
Let me know if you have further questions using CAN Objects.

  • Sending the message content to the server failed. Attachment.

So I've been a Eudora user for more than a decade and just thought I'd try Mail and have been using it for about a month. This evening I was in the midst of writing messages and about halfway through, Mail would no longer send outgoing messages that contain attachments (I had sent messages earlier in the evening with attachements). I just get a response that says, "Sending the message content to the server failed." I have no problem sending messages that don't have an attachment.
I have two separate email accounts that I use. For both I use my own domain as the smtp server which is hosted through aplushosting.com. It's smtp.riversandcreeks.com. Server port is set to 25 and authentication is set to none. Everything has worked fine until this evening (and it literally stopped halfway through my evening email session so I'm sure this is not related to a system upgrade or other software changes).
I have spent about two hours trying all different settings. I tried changing authentication, screwed around with Network settings, and did just about anything I could think of (or read about trying after doing several searches on this board). I also trashed the Outbox in my Library and restarted the machine.
In one of the posts where someone seemed to be having the same problem, I saw something about changing the MTU setting but I'm not familiar with what that means and there was not enough background to explain.
My service provider is Comcast (just use them for the high speed connection but not the mail services) and I have one of their older RCA modems hooked into a wireless router that I access via airport.
If anyone has suggestions (or can refer me to other posts on this forum I may have missed please let me know).
    Thanks!

    However, there are
too many variables in your setup to yet be sure of
    the cause.
Agreed. There are too many variables and they only seem to increase...
You describe your modem as older, but you have not
    reported the make of router?
It's a Microsoft router (my other half's employer). It has worked fine though for more than two years.
    Does it have ethernet
ports, as well as wireless? If so, do you have a
    cable to test without wireless?
    Yes, tried all that.
Have you tried powering down modem, router and Mac
for a couple of minutes, and then powering back up,
beginning with the modem, and then router?
    Yes, tried that too.
MTU may be a factor, but the way things changed in
mid sending, is a little odd, and it is not as
frequently a factor with wireless. Later, I can give
you a link that may help check MTU and wireless, but
I need to research a bit on that.
Do you have a Comcast address, and could you set up
that Comcast account for a test?
That would be another project but I suppose I could call Comcast and figure it out and it may provide some additional insight. However that will not solve the problem as I am highly mobile and am using different hot spots on a daily basis. I was down at the Apple Store and tried on their wireless network (so presumably eliminating all the variables with my home network and isp and on the most Mac-friendly network I can find). Same problem. Messages with attachments won't go out but all other messages will. I do get a slightly different error message there. It says "Verify that you have addressed this message correctly. Check your SMTP server settings in Mail Preferences and verify any advanced settings with your system administrator." I also have a ticket with my hosting service. They say they have not made any recent changes that would result in this problem. Will keep pursuing with them too to see if they have additional ideas.
I'm really perplexed as to what would be distinguishing between mail with attachments vs. those without. As an additional test I fired up Eudora and I can send out attachments fine.

  • Mail: 'Sending the message content to the server failed'

My wife has a MacBook Pro and I have an iMac, both using Tiger and both using Mac Mail with Gmail accounts. We frequently get errors when sending mail - mail cannot send so it puts the messege indefinately in my Outbox. We both recieve mail just fine.
    The exact error is:
'This message could not be delivered and will remain in your Outbox until it can be delivered.
Sending the message content to the server failed.'
I tried changing my port 25 to 587 and it did not seem to work. Any ideas?
    Thank you.

hi - i posted this in another thread but meant to post it here - oops - i've been following this thread and others for days now - i also have been having safari/email 'sending message content to server failed'/flash 10 plugin problems since latest security/java/qt software update - here's what i recommend and what i'll be doing from now on - before i install any updates via software update i'll be saving the download/installers to a folder as suggested in another topic thread - next i'll be disconnecting my router - and connecting the modem directly to the computer - bypassing the router - once i'm sure configurations/internet/mail are functioning correctly i'll connect the router - all this time my problems were with my router port settings - not safari or flash 10 plugin or mail app - go figure - hope this helps - peace!

  • IPhone 5S not intermittently not receiving or sending text messages

My new IPhone 5S is frustrating me. Sometimes I am not receiving Imessages from others using Verizon IPhones - they have to retry and eventually they send the message as regular text. Sometimes when I IMessage these people, I too, get a "not delivered" error and must send as text. I just received my IPhone end of February and am seeing this occur a frequently
Also contacts on Androids from other carriers sometimes have the same issue occur - they do not receive my text messages or I do not receive theirs. Not all the time but intermittently. Can someone please tell me how to correct this. I have cold started the phone numerous times.
    This is very aggravating!

The first thing to do is contact your carrier and make sure your account is provisioned properly.

  • Mail sending 2 messages for every 1 sent ("sending 2 of 2 messages")

hi... did a search, but it was a tough one to search for.
an odd problem: mail says it's sending 2 messages for each message i send. for instance, i type a note to my mom (because i'm a good son) and hit send on the one email... the status bar at the bottom left of the panel says: "sending message: 2 of 2" or "outgoing messages: 2 of 2"...
however, in checking the sent folder, only 1 message sent.
it does not do this all of the time, but about 1 out of every 5 messages, it seems...
i'm worried about malware, spyware, etc... would there be such a thing? why is mail acting weird?

There are no viruses for Mac OS X, and no malware can be installed without you providing your Admin password, so you don't have that, either.
This is normal behavior, because you have an IMAP email account. In order for everything to be in sync, the mail server and your Mac must communicate very frequently, and that includes whenever you send or receive email. The message may say one thing, but unless you see multiple, identical messages being sent or received, it's not happening. There's no such thing as invisible email.

  • IPhone 4S randomly re-sending text messages

My iPhone 4S keeps re-sending random text messages.
The messages can be days or even weeks old, they always go to the original recipient, but the phone is doing it, not me. They are texts to a friend I text frequently, so it doesn't really matter, but how do I stop it as sometimes they arrive in the middle of the night!
It also sometimes receives texts in the wrong order - not sure if that's related.
    Thanks for any advice.

        Hi Stephbruce8,
We want your text messages to flow freely from your device! What happens when you send a message? Do you receive any error messages? Is your iMessages working? How much free space is on the device http://vz.to/IS3QHt ?

  • How to defeat "send anyway" message for a message without a subject?

When I send an email without a subject, I get the message: 'This message has no subject. Are you sure you want to send it?' which I must then either cancel or choose "send anyway." How do make it so I don't get this message? I don't see a preferences option. Is there a terminal way to do it?

Oddly enough, every other mail program allows messages to be sent without a subject. Apple's "rule" is an anachronism. I frequently send subjectless emails when I'm having quick conversations with my kids, online. I see no need to include a subject.
The only place I know that won't deliver email without a subject is us.army.mil (and probably the other services as well). If I include my SIL in Iraq in a family email, I HAVE to add a subject. The Army says they require a subject because the spam frequently comes without a subject.
Maybe 10 years ago spammers did that, but if anyone thinks spammer send spam without a subject, they are hilariously out of date. Spammers learned that "trick" many, many years age.

  • Cannot send email via AOL on iPad2 - "A copy has been placed in your Outbox. Sending the message content to the server failed."

My CEO has an ipad2 and I set it up w/ AOL.  She cannot send any email via her AOL account from her iPad.  She gets a message that says "A copy has been placed in your Outbox. Sending the message content to the server failed."   We've tried it on wifi and on 3G (Verizon version).  I've removed the account and added it, I've tried setting it up as an IMAP account vs. using Apples standard AOL mail setting and nothing seems to work.  The SMTP settings are smtp.aol.com, port 587.  I've tried adding an alternate server/smtp, but I haven't been able to find anything that works.  Any advice or other people having this issue?  It works fine sending an email from her aol web mail.  And unfortunately, having her sign up for a gmail account is not an option.  Thanks

Interesting.  Firstly I have been on AOL since the early 90s with no current intention to switch as my primary personal email account.
I have two email accounts on my iphone - AOL and my email from my business website.  I deleted both and then recreated first the business account and then the AOL account.  Same error.  Then I wasn't sure what you suggested but I turned off the AOL SMTP server and selected the business email SMTP server by turning it on with the same result.  I still get the error "A Copy has been placed in your Outbox.  Sending the mssage content to the server failed."
Perhaps this problem will get fixed by IOS 6.   AOL will not talk to me unless I pay and Apple says its not their problem.  So for the time being I use the AOL web interface in the iPhone's Safari to send emails from the phone.
