Frequents bsod after pci vid card installed

hey all,
ive explained this 20 times on 20 different tech forums and no one could help, hope you msi junkies can
heres the deal.
system specs
amd duron 1.1
MS-6378 mobo with onboard sound and vid
XP Home SP1 and XP Pro (no sp)
the mobo in my wifes pc has no agp slots, and has 4 or 8 megs of onboard video. she constantly comandeers my pc while im working to get in a game or two, so i finnaly decided to pick her up a pci video card the other night.
got it at walmart, 30 bucks for a gforce2 mx200 w/32 PCI
installed it and it ran fine, she was happy, and i was happy lol, now this error started only with divx and now happens more frequently. after playing a divx movie for any length of time, it has happened after 2 minutes, and after 30 , i get an irq_not_less_or_equal_to bsod from win32k.sys. at first this was only with divx movies, but now it happens randomly, just happened 5 minutes ago when i was writing this thread hehe , i updated the bios, and took a look inside...im assuming this could be due to the onboard video maybe, but there are no settings to flat out disable it. i disabled video bios shadowing, set the agp arpeture(? SP) to 4mb(min) told the bios not to reserve an irq for video, disabled the onboard video driver through the windows. i wish i could just uninstall the driver for it, but whenever i do windows thinks its great to reinstall it to make my life easier :p
any help would be appriticated, im just going to lurk around the forums all day
thanks alot, and any help i would be greatful for this is driving me bannanas

  • Dell optiplex 755 won't boot with NI PCI Fieldbus card installed

After installing NI Configurator 3.1.0 on new Dell optiplex 755 and then installing the NI PCI Fieldbus card the pc won't boot up.
This card works fine 745 and older dell pc's.
    Anybody else having this problem?

    Hi,
In which step does the boot process fail? Is there any error message?
After installing NI-FBUS 3.1, please go to Windows Device Manager, check whether the driver of PCI-FBUS is correctly installed. There should be no any error in Device Manager.
You can try the following methods.
    1. Change to another PCI slot.
    2. Use Windows XP. NI-FBUS 3.1 does not support Windows Vista.
    3. If there exist other PCI devices in the system, remove them and try using PCI-FBUS only.
    4. Update the drivers of Dell Optiplex 755 if there are new versions, including video card, ethernet card, etc.

  • HP p7-1174 locks on startup with PCIe parallel card installed (SYBA SD-PEX1005)

Hello, I just purchased a PCIe parallel card from SYBA for my HP p7-1174 (AMD A8, 8GB, W7 64bit) and upon installing it locks up after the HP blue screen (it locks on a black screen with a DOS cursor blinking). Tried different ports, same result. I installed the card on another computer (HP p6774y, AMD Phenom II, 6GB, W7 64bit) and it works flawlessly. Does anybody know of any configuration prior to installation of the card that I would have to do? Any input is greatly appreciated.

Follow up: The Rosewill RC-302e works flawlessly.

  • Computer won't boot with PCI-GPIB card installed

I'm running a windows XP system with Labview 7.1 installed. I have installed the GPIB drivers, but when I insert my PCI-GPIB card, the computer will not boot(it freezes before the POST). I'm running a Shuttle "MK40VN" KM400 Chipset Motherboard.

Well, nevermind, I just verified that the card is in fact fried.

  • BSOD after X-FI driver install h20x2k.

I just installed the drivers for my X-FI, and much to my surprise I was greeted at the end of the install with a BSOD. The complaint comes from h20x2k.sys. I moved the card to another PCI slot, and nothing. Onboard sound is disabled and inacti've in the bios. I have installed the drivers many many times, and never had a problem until now. I figured reformatting would fix the problem easy, but actually, after a clean partition and install, it still gave me a BSOD. I do not know what is going on. Please don't ignore this post. The computer only crashes when installing the DRIVERS. I have a Intel dual core 2.8ghz, GB 3200 ddr RAM, 0krpm wd raptor.

I have the same problem like you,
    I'm using e6600+ asus P5B Deluxe/WiFi-AP + x-fi Fatalty
    sys:xp sp2
it get on well since recently i changed for a 5. speaker (2. before)
i used the speaker connect guide to set the speaker but suddenly it BSOD then i just can't even login windows.
i uninstall the driver in safemode but after that the famous "h20x2k.sys BSOD" problem appears.
i tried the new openal driver in download page, it get stuck when "installing drivers....... takes minutes"
i tried also other possibly fix methods that used in "h20x2k.sys BSOD" and take no effect.
the only hardware change is i updated the latest version 226 bios
i just fast give up all hope now

  • Dead MS6330 after PCI IEEE1394 Controller install

    Hello,
Yesterday I installed a PCI IEEE1394 Controller on a MS-6330 with 1300Mhz Athlon. After installing the necessary software and restarting my WinXP couldn't load. I tried removing and adding the newly installed card, the LAN and video cards. Now as I start the computer the power supply looks fine, all the coolers start etc. but no signal (even BIOS) appears on the monitor, neither does the 'No input signal' message that appears when video signal is absent. Could you offer some solution to the problem?

  • G-4 tower, PPC,10.4.11 PCI SCSI card install

G-4 tower, PPC,10.4.11 and Classic 9.2. I have been trying to install a new Adptec SCSI card. From what I understand, this card should work??
I keep getting the "grey vail". The fix is to remove the PCI card.I have tried USB and network PCI cards. Both create NO problems. Is there a good reason I cannot install the SCSI PCI card??

These look pretty old to me...

I have received two new NX6600GT-TD128E (MS-8983) vdeo cards to install on my new K8N NEO4-F (MS-7125) motherboard flashed with BIOS ver 1.B.
First video card turned out to be bad.  The replacement card allows view of bios screens and post screen, but when Windows XP (pro) starts up, the video goes blank and Windows XP locks up dead.
Any suggestions as to what I need to do to get the video card up and running?

  • H9-1130 Won't boot after new graphics card install.

    Alright, here we go.
I recently bought an EVGA 750 superclocked for my PC. The first time I installed it, I got a black screen. Popped in the old GPU and checked the BIOS. Ended up updating it.
Now, here's the interesting part: I install the EVGA back into my computer, and it ends up getting stuck at the HP boot logo. I went to another thread on this site regarding pretty much the same question, and the people there recommended checking the PSU and the graphics card. Well, I brought my GPU to a friend to plug into his computer, and it booted up just fine. I did check my PSU aswell, and all seems to be fine there. So, yeah, any suggestions on how I can get this card to work on my mobo?
     SPECS:
    AMD FX-8120
    (old) GPU: AMD 7670
(new) GPU: EVGA 750 1gb Superclocked
    PSU: HP 650w
    mobo: Gigabyte 2AC8

    Hi,
I have no suggestions on how to get the EVGA GTX 750 to work in a HP PC that has a legacy version 7 bios (non-UEFI).
I do have one suggestion: Contact EVGA and ask for a remendy other than replacing the motherboard or buying a new PC. Don't expect HP to provide a version 8 UEFI BIOS update for your PC.  HP didn't start producing UEFI BIOS consumer desktop PCs until the middle of October 2012.
You might try Sapphire as they offer both NVIDIA and AMD graphics that are designated UEFI and those that are not designated UEFI.  You need a card that is non-UEFI designated.

  • Labview doesn't recoginze the PCI-6023E card

    Hi there,
I have labview 7 installed in a windows 7 32 bit system. I just have a PCI-6023E card installed and the windows device manager said that device is ready to use. I am trying to install the driver on the CD but NI just fail to recognize that card

    Hi dragondriver,
AG@Amfax is right, this LabVIEW version is not supported in Windows 7. The oldest supported version is LabVIEW 2009 SP1. Please take a look to this compatibility chart.
Once you have a compatible LabVIEW installed in the OS, you'll need a compatible driver version. Please refer to this link.

  • Another PCI video card issue

    Hello,
I bought my daughter this Lenovo 3000 h210 from Tigerdirect.com
    http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=4167690&CatId=2630
She has an nVidia gForce 8450 PCI card she wants to put in the 1 vacant PCI slot. When she does that, the machine will not even boot up. If she takes the card back out, it boots up fine.
The PCI card does not require a seperate power connection, and she replaced the OEM power supply with a 550w one.
I keep reading about possibly having to go into the BIOS and disable the onboard video. I don't have direct access to that computer since she lives in another state, but she is telling me that there are only 2 choices, PCI-PEG and PEG-PCI. She says she had tried both settings and it still will not boot with the PCI graphics card installed.
Any idea how to fix this?

I was unable to find an answer, but was able to get the machine up and running. They took the PCI card back and swapped it for a PCI Express card. They plugged that one in and it worked immediately. So, I am guessing that this particular machine will not work with a PCI video card.
    I hope this helps someone.

  • Trouble NetBooting Xserve G5 with PCI RAID Card

Has anyone else had problems NetBooting Xserve G5 with the PCI RAID card installed?
I've got a Dual 2.0 GHz and Dual 2.3 GHz Xserve G5 that both can't seem to NetBoot consistently. On the very odd occasion they do netboot but not very oftern. When you set the NetBoot volume from the Startup Disk system preference and reboot, they just fail to boot and eventually their fans go crazy.
I have other Xserve G5s that NetBoot just fine. I've tried different network cables and swapping switch ports with Xserves that work, but it hasn't helped.
Could it be something on the NetBoot server?
Looking at the system log on the NetBoot server you can see the "bootpd" request from the booting server. I don't have a graphics card install in the Xserves being NetBooted so don't know what's being displayed on the server's console.
The NetBoot server is an Intel-based Xserve (Late 2006) running 10.4.11.

that seems to be the next step here: find or purchase a new card to test the existing drives.
i had wondered if these cards aren't compatible with the 750 gb drives. does anyone know?
also, would a bad battery cause such craziness? does the battery keep read/write cache data on the 64mb on-card memory for just this purpose? i haven't found much documentation on the apple branded cards.
    thanks for your help.

  • PCI-FBUS -- Dell Optiplex 760, no video after installing the NI PCI-Fbus card

I am just beginning the process of upgrading my 30+ production assembly stations currently using NI PCI-FBUS cards with new computers. (our current PCs are HP dc5100)
I want to utilize our new desktop standard PC system the Dell Optiplex 760.
When I install our existing NI PCI-FBUS cards pulled from functional old PCs and place into this new Dell PCs the PC displays no video signa during the boot process.
I have tried both of the PCI slots on the motherboard, I have upgraded the integrated Intel NIC driver.  I have removed the optional dual head video card from the PCI-E slot and am now using the on-board video.
I have run out of things to swap/disable with out correcting the no video issue.
This is the first problem I have had with the new PCI-FBUS cards.  They have always seem to plug and play until this new PC model.

Update . ... after swapping the NI PCI-FBUS card with several other PCs, I have determined that card to be defective.  It will not start in the new PCs, the other cards I have tested will.  I think this is isolated to this card only, so I will be contacting NI about repair/replacement of it.

  • How To Install mini-pci wireless card in 1955-S805 ?

I'm trying to install a new mini-pci wireless card in my Satellite 1955-S805. I was able to pry off the black shiny strip above the keyboard, and unscrew the two screws holding down the keyboard. But under the keyboard is a silver metal plate. There doesn't appear to be a way to get past that. Everything I've read seems to say that the mini-pci card goes under the keyboard.
Does anyone know how to install a mini-pci card in these 1955-S805 notebooks? Or does anyone have a tech manual on this model?
    Thanks,
    Pat

    Hi Pat
I am not sure but you have an US model. I have 1900-703 notebook. It is a European model and I had no problem to install mini-pci wireless card.
Your unit has also wireless keyboard. Am I right?
If you want to built in wireless card you must remove the keyboard from notebook using keyboard releases on the left and right side of your unit. After that you can see small cover on the place of keyboard and this cover is fixed with one screw. Under this small cover there is wireless card slot.
