Fresh Install, Apps Window Blank, Why?

Why is it that a fresh install of Creative Cloud Desktop would cause a blank App window at two different clients on two different imacs? I need to roll this out and cannot.
Deleting the oobe file has not worked. Reinstalling CC desktop has not worked.
Why would I even need to do all that to get the damn software to work? Shouldn't it just work at the very least allow you to install applications?

Please refer to the help document and threads below where this issue stands resolved:
1. App doesn’t open | Progress wheel spins continually
2. Re: Adobe Creative Cloud / Desktop App / Home Screen: Constant Spinning Wheel
3. Re: Cant see my apps in creative cloud, just a spining wheel (Refer to my 1st post)
As observed the second solution in
App doesn’t open | Progress wheel spins continually
Is the most effective one, I would request you to read the precaution too prior to using it.

  • "canon mp navigator ex has stopped working" cannot get this to work - fresh install on windows 8.1

Trying to get LiDE 110 scanner working on my laptop. I keep getting this message once scan is complete "canon mp navigator ex has stopped working" and then a corrupted pdf is saved - fresh install on windows 8.1 I have used most up to date drivers and software and tried these two "fixes" from an internet search on this topic (it seems to be a common problem that hasn't been addressed by Canon) - I'm on the verge of returning the scanner!! 1) Delete this file: C:\Users\<user name>\App Data\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Network Shortcuts\My Web Sites on MSN.      RESULT - "My Web Sites on MSN" does not exist in that folder on my computer. 2)Remove "sdc330Twain.ds" from windows Twain-32 folder      RESULT - didn't have any effect Thank you, in anticipation!

Currently running the scanner on "Advanced scan to pdf" but would like to have access to the canon software with more options

  • Fresh Install of Windows 8.1 on rMBP mid 2012

Seeing how there are issues about bootcamp and windows 8.1, anyone know if a fresh install of Windows 8.1 (non-pro) will work on a rMBP mid 2012 model using the usual bootcamp instructions? Or will I have to do a workaround to get it installed?

That is what I fear. I've heard issues about installing windows 8.1 directly (though most seem to be about the 2013 MBPs, unsure of my model), and considering it's impossible for me to get a copy of windows 8 and upgrade through the store (the optimal solution) now, I'm left with installing 8.1 right from the get-go. Anyone else have success/experience going through the 8.1 route on 2012 MBPs?

  • Did a fresh install of Windows Vista and Premiere CS5 and now Premiere is buggy!

Hi everyone. I was using Premiere Pro CS5 on my quad core system editing AVCHD clips just fine and then I had to do a fresh install of Windows Vista Home Premium. I then did a fresh install of Premiere Pro CS5 on a separate hard drive and opened up one of my AVCHD projects. Now, for some reason, the same AVCHD projects that played fine before are now jittery and also show blocky artifacts. The jitter seems to be a constant jitter every second and the blocky artifacts seem to happen mostly when the subject in the clip is moving. I know the problem isn't in the original clip from my GH-1 camera because if I play the original clip that is on my hard drive, it plays just fine so, it has to be Premiere CS5 that is causing the clips to play all jerky on the timeline. Can someone please help me solve this problem? One more thing, when I reinstalled Premiere CS5, I installed the latest update from Adobe. I didn't have that update installed before when the clips played fine. Could that update be the culprit? Thanks.
My clips were recorded using a Panasonic GH1 HDSLR camera and are 1080/24p (progressive).

  • FRESH install of Windows 7 Home Premuim on a new G550

I just got a new G550 with Windows 7 Home Premium yesterday that I like so far (less than 24 hours)
I am probably not the first to think this, but if I wanted to do a FRESH install of Windows 7 Premium (it came on the Laptop) I dont like all the junk Lenovo puts on there though. I removed a lot of it and did an image of it once i got it where I liked it just in case. (Along with a repair disk)
Obviously it does not come with a straight Windows 7 disc. BUT.... If I had a copy of the same OS and tried to install it with a reformatted hard drive using the key that is on the bottom of the laptop, would that work?
I don't see the need for One touch restore/recovery with the native imaging software. I would like to clean up the drive, get rid of the hidden partition and go from scratch. Tell me I am missing something here.
Lastly, I can't find anywhere on Lenovos support pages where I can find ANY Windows 7 drivers I might need. Am I stuck?
    Thanks,
    Doug

UPDATE:  I gave up on tech support at Lenovo and called the sales department.  They were helpful as my computer is under warranty.  They are kicking it up to the next level and are supposed to call back today with further options that may include replacement.  Time will tell.
Microsoft support says it is a Lenovo problem not a Windows problem, six hours total spent with micosoft,   I have contacted the broadband card manufacture and received a little help.  There are known issues according to D-Link with the router configuration.  These have been correced.
Will update with further information tommorow.  Another call scheduled with the senior engineering staff at Microsoft to attempt to correct the issue.

  • Can't clone or fresh install of Windows 8.1 on my MX100

Hello, I am trying to replace my hard drive with the MX100 on a Lenovo Flex 2-14.  I first tried cloning with Acronis.  The cloning of the SSD worked but it would not boot.  Second, I deleted all the partitions and formatted to NTFS.  I tried to do a fresh install of Windows 8.1  from a USB thumb drive.  Change the boot order to the USB then to the MX100.  It would boot to the USB but then it would just hang there with the Windows 8 icon. I made a test where I place the SSD back with the old hard drive and try to do a fresh install and it booted to the USB but it didn't hang there.  It actually took me to the Windows install menu.  So there's nothing wrong with the USB. It's is not like my computer cannot detect the SSD because when I put it in my laptop, I can see it in the BIOS menu and I can format it in Windows. Please if anyone have similar problem...please help. Cheers,Kham

  • Fresh install of Windows 8 64 on G780

Hi I just purchased a G780 the other day and I was trying to figure out if there was a way to conduct a fresh reformat and reinstall of Windows 8 64 on it. I contacted technical support and the man on the phone told me that there is no way to get your product key from the laptop (and it's not on a sticker on the bottom either) because it was embedded into the laptop for security purposes (??). Without the product key I am not able to download the official ISO from Windows (via Windows 8 Setup) and as such cannot create my own Windows iso.
After doing some research on my own end I managed to pull out the Windows 8 key from my registry, but when I proceeded to try using this in Windows 8 setup it informed me that I was not able to use this key with a retail version of Windows 8.
My intent with this is that I want a fresh Windows 8 only install on my laptop because I really hate having third party apps preinstalled on my laptop and I just want Windows 8. I can install my own drivers and software myself after initial Windows installation.
What gets me is that the customer support man told me the only way to do this without using One Key Recovery (which doesn't solve anything for me because it just reinstalls the third party apps as well) is to purchase my own copy of Windows 8. Now, in the EULA (that first agreement page on first boot of the Lenovo laptop) it told me that I was able to use my 1 license key on 1 laptop. However, from what I understand by purchasing this laptop I would be a legitmate owner of a license key for Windows 8 as well (as per the EULA). I don't understand why I am not able to use this license key to install a Windows 8 on the same laptop it came with, just without any third party software, as an owner of a license key to Windows 8.
This is poor company policy and I shouldn't have to buy 2 copies of Windows just to run Windows on 1 laptop the way I want it to. But I might be wrong and would appreciate any help on how to go about this with just the OEM key the laptop came with.

    Hello
    Replying to Solid_Cruver
Looking at the eightforum example you will see that a product key is needed. This is what  johnnyk715
is stating:  Windows 8 OEM on G780, also my case, does not have the Product Key available.
I have asked Microsoft directly whether Windows 8 OEM can perform reset refresh without Installation CD and without
Product key as the case of buying Windows OEM machines, and it was stated
    Quote
to perform reset\refresh you need Operating System disc and you need Product key for activating Operating System.
I would suggest you to contact Lenovo support team for assistance. They should be able to provide you the Operating System disc and product key for the same.
    http://forums.lenovo.com/
    End quote
Do you know where can I get this Windows 8 Operating System disk and product key of my new G780 machine?
By the way Unfortunately I split already the Windows8_OS partition, therefore I am not sure I can still use the Onekey restore by Lenovo.
    Thanks

  • Satellite L655 - Sound not working on fresh install of Windows 7 Pro x64

    Howdy all,
I purchased an L655-S5111 from Newegg that was on sale, put an SSD into it, and then installed a legitimate copy of Windows 7 Professional 64-bit I received from my current employer (I'm an IT guy). I've updated to the latest BIOS revision (1.70), and I've got all Windows updates installed, all drivers installed, including the correct Conexant HD Audio and ATI HDMI Audio drivers. Unfortunately, sound does not work. Sound worked briefly when I first installed Windows 7, then I muted it until I could get it set up with headphones. When I unmuted it, it had ceased to work.
This laptop is less than 3 weeks old at this point, and I get no audio over headphones or speakers, although Windows clearly shows no issues with the drivers, they're the latest version, on a fresh install, and I can see the audio in the mixer playing. The microphone built-in to the laptop does pick up sound as well. I believe that this is most likely not an issue of physical interconnection, but more likely a software level issue, I'm just having trouble identifying where it is at.
I also have no related error messages anywhere in the event logs.

I have two problems with installing the recovery image:
    1) I didn't get a copy of the recovery media with the system
    2) The recovery media would install Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit which is what came with the laptop.
Since I have legitimately licensed copies of Windows 7 Pro/Enterprise 64-bit, I would much rather install that. Since I used the drivers and software from the Toshiba website for this particular model, it should be working. There should be no functional difference between the recovery media and a fresh Windows install from the Microsoft-provided Windows media and Toshiba provided drivers from their website.
As you can see in the sysinfo (I'm assuming Keany the respondent is the admin that approved my post and edited it, thus had access to the data which was removed) I have all the Toshiba software and drivers installed, identically to if this was the recovery image, I just have it on a different edition of Windows 7.
I'm open to any other suggestions, but unfortunately it is not possible to do the above.

  • CHKDSK fails on fresh install of Windows 7 x64 on mid-2009 MBP with SSD

There was an earlier post about this that has been archived prematurely that I will reproduce below. The main issue is a flaw in the Windows 7 x64 CHKDSK of the SSD drive in the mid-2009 MBP= 5,2. With fresh OSX installs, bootcamp 3.1, Windows 7 x64 all updates, the CHKDSK operation checks files at about 1 per second in stage 4 of 5, verifying file data.
Moderators: please leave this open until it is actually resolved.

Windows 7 x64, MacBook Pro, frequent CHKDSK after HDD firmware update
    Posted: Nov 2, 2009 6:45 AM
Hello, I have been having filesystem problems on my Windows 7 partition since the HDD related firmware update (the latest Performance update) was released and installed onto this mid 2009 MacBook Pro.
The HDD is a 500 GB 7200 RPM model, but it never gave me any troubles under OS X before the "fix" and I know other users had intermittent problems with the HDD on their MacBook Pro's related to the HDD making noises and pausing.
The fix was released, I installed it and I started seeing my first problem in Windows 7 x64 a few days after... I cleanly shut the OS down, but when I booted it back it asked me to perform a coherency check to the Filesystem... I thought that the problem was related to the fact that I was using the RC1 build of Windows 7... although that problem never manifested itself in the weeks before the Performance Update (HDD firmware fix) was installed and Windows 7 x64 RC1 had been on there and used frequently.
I recently purchased Windows 7 retail a few days ago and after a bit of trouble-free operation I started having problems again... always shutting the PC down carefully and I was asked to run the CHKDSK utility at boot twice already.
    What to do?

    Hi there,
I have a different experience. I installed Windows 7 before the "performance update 1.0" came out. I actually experienced the chkdsk launch problem with Windows 7. I had done repartitioning and clean-install several times but cannot solve the problem. So I tried to install XP and Vista on my MBA (Mid 2009 with SSD) and found that these two OS doesn't introduce such problem.
To be honest, I'm not sure which caused such problem, Windows 7, a bootcamp driver, or EFI. But I'm sure that CHKDSK in Windows 7 has an obvious bug that needs to be patched (memory leak and maybe this problem as well). So now I'm using Windows Vista SP2. And I'm happy with Vista SP2 (seems to become faster and stable now).
    Cheer,

  • Fresh Install of Windows 8.1 on HP Pavilion a4313w freezes randomly

I've done four fresh installs of Windows 8.1 on the HP Pavilion a4313 Desktop PC in our home and it always freezes randomly. Even in safe mode, it freezes. I've done hardware tests with BurnIn Test 8.0 and everything including the hardware memory is fine. Antivirus is installed and it's completely updated with Windows Updates. Once I installed the 32-bit version of Windows 8.1 and it still froze. I performed a fresh install, because it would hang sometimes with Windows 7.
Anyways, I am more then ready and willing to post more information or test results upon request. Anyone have suggestions?

    Hello @buddhapunk36,
I understand that your computer running Windows 8.1 keeps freezing and you have run the hardware tests and it comes back okay. I would suggest that you try installing the original Windows 7 that came with your computer and see if the freezing continues. If it does continue the the issue appears to be a physical issue. Please call our technical support at 800-474-6836. • Fresh Install of Windows 7 messes up all my drivers?

    Long story short:
Was having some issues with my Toshiba Satellite L755D that shipped with Windows 7 Home Premium; I freshly installed Windows 7 Enterprise, but now all my drivers are messed up.
I tried installing the auto-updater from the AMD website, but to no avail.
I tried using a third party program: SlimDrivers, and it didnt help at all.
I tried using the Device Manager to reinstall the best drivers; no help.
Anyone have any solutions? Im currently running a 1024x768 display when I SHOULD be running 1366x768, AND I have NO sound. This is obviously a big problem!
    Anyone know of any solutions?
Btw, I am running an AMD A8-3520M + 6620G as my APU, along with a 7450M as my dual graphics card.
    Solved!

All your drivers are at the link above.
But it's best to restore the hard disk to its original out-of-the-box contents using Toshiba recovery media. All the drivers and utilities are properly installed.
If you failed to burn recovery discs, you can obtain them from Toshiba. Call 800-663-0378.

  • Can't open fresh install of iTunes (fresh install of Windows 7)

    Hi everyone,
Well this problem has my head spinning. I'm an IT troubleshooter so I've done a lot of various trailing already which I detail below.
Basically, we're looking at a brand new computer with a new installation Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit. I have installed the latest iTunes 64-bit however when I double click the icon it never opens. No error given.
Upon checking the Event Viewer I can see two corresponding Application Allerts:
    1/
Faulting application name: iTunes.exe, version: 12.1.0.71, time stamp: 0x54c76235
Faulting module name: iTunes.dll, version: 12.1.0.71, time stamp: 0x54c7621b
    Exception code: 0xc000001d
    2/
Windows cannot access the file  for one of the following reasons: there is a problem with the network connection, the disk that the file is stored on, or the storage drivers installed on this computer; or the disk is missing. Windows closed the program iTunes because of this error.
Upon research, a few people report error 2, however their error message always correctly identifies a file name (i.e., "Windows cannot access the file foobar.dll for one of the following reasons...."), and they are able to troubleshoot from there. As this error has a blank space for the filename I'm not so lucky.
    I have tried:
    * Starting iTunes in Safe Mode (no change)
    * Starting iTunes with a new library (holding shift) (no change)
    * Creating a new Windows profile and starting iTunes there (same problem) (both accounts have Admin rights)
    * Uninstalling iTunes and all other bundled Apple applications as per (Remove and reinstall iTunes and related software components for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8 - Apple Support)
    * Downloading a fresh installation package and re-installing
    * chkdsk /f
    * sfc /scannow
    * Repeating the above with the antivirus application uninstalled
    * Repeating the above and running the installation file by specifically right-clicking and choosing to Run as Administrator
    * Running iTunes by specifically right-clicking and choosing to Run as Administrator
    * Repeating the above and installing to default location on C: (an Intel SSD)
    * Repeating the above and installing to D: (a Western Digital HDD)
    * Installed Quicktime and tested if this opens - it does. (Someone, somewhere suggested seeing if this worked).
    * Following the advice here (iTunes for Windows doesn't open after upgrading in Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8 - Apple Support)
I can confirm that with the above, I can delete the file and when I attempt to launch iTunes again the file is recreated but iTunes still doesn't open
There is ultimately an iTunes library that I'd like to re-import back in, but for now I've kept this out of the way until such time that I can open iTunes with a blank library.
I'd like to think my troubleshooting has been fairly exhaustive so far, but would also like even more to have a solution. If anyone can suggest anything it'd be greatly appreciated.
    Kind Regards,
    Gavin

I was having a similar problem and searched this forum for 2 days trying to find the solution...and couldn't!
I decided to solve try a few things myself.
I turned the SpyWare off first then . . .
1 . I opened the Register Editor, by typing in "Regedit" in the run application for XP or start search for Vista.
2 . I searched all of the files, around six of them, and deleted ALL quicktime and itunes folders.
3 . I then went into the Program Files on the hard drive C:\ and deleted the files iPod, iTunes and QuickTime.
4 . After that I went back to C:\ and went into Windows and deleted a file named QuickTime VR and all other QuickTime and iTunes files.
    5 . Restarted the computer
6 . Reinstalled ONLY QuickTime 7.4 from the website
7 . Reinstalled iTunes 7.6 from the website and it worked!
Hope this works, it was a nightmare to figure out and a hassle to do but it does work....for me at least!
    Good Luck!
