FRF Overlap Option

Hai all,
I am computing FRF using the functions available in SVT.  Am using diadem for the same activity for the same signal.  Diadem has an option '% Overlap' in the FRF options but this option is not available in labview FRF vi.  how can i implement the same operation in labview is there any workaround.  Am also interested in knowing the technical operation that this 'overlap' function performs.
Any help would be appreciated

JK

Hello JK,
I believe you'll find the same setting available on the SVFA Zoom Frequency Response (Mag-Phase).vi under the Zoom Settings input.  If you right click on this input and select create control this should create a cluster with this setting available.  If this isn't the particular FRF VI that you're using I would recommend using the context help (press control + h and hover the mouse over the FRF VI) and clicking on the detailed help for the VI.  This should list a description of all the inputs and outputs and you should see the % Overlap option.
I hope this helps, and have a great night!

  • Is there a TRANSITION OVERLAP OPTION setting?

My research into this problem has been uneventful -- doing a simple cross-dissolve.
I have two clips in the TL with  NO handles on either side.   I really don't want to manually overlap [hundreds] the clips (they are adjacent in the TL).
I hit CMD+T & get a warning message saying “no handles” (obviously) then click okay.  I expect the right clip to shrink slightly (it does) – but the problem is, the transition is NOT CENTERED.  This means coming out of the transition on the target clip, it “jumps” noticably in magnification.   So I have to manually drag the transition to the right to correct it.
The forums talk about going to our [Mickey Mouse]  PREFERENCES & adjusting the (edit) transition setting – which only allows you to adjust the TIME.   There is no TRANSITION OVERLAP OPTION setting.   The manual's chapter "Transition overlap options" does not have an "option setting" that I could find.
Am I stuck doing this MANUALLY?
Thanks for your thoughts & time.
    Dale

    Tom,
Below, the first image shown is the LAST frame coming out of the dissolve (target clip).  The VERY NEXT frame shows a noticable SHRINK once in the target clip.   Most of the time the jump is bigger, not smaller.
In regard to the specs, all video was taken with the SAME late model camera (Canon XA10):
H.264, Linear PCM  1920x1080  29.97 fps (according to the inspector).
BTY- I notice this problem occurs with the CMD+T insert (with snapping ON and the playhead between both clips).  It doesn't occur with the "drag & drop" dissolve.

  • Production order overlapping with purchase orders for outside process

I set up the overlap option in a router so we can send 50 pieces (total order quantity is 200) of material ahead to an outside heat treat operation.  When we try to create the purchase order for the 50 to be sent out for heat treat two problems occur.
    1. The quatity in the purchase order is for the entire order of 200, not 50.
    2. We get a message "Date /23/2010 period D is not valid.
We currently do not use the functionality of splits and overlaps so if anyone can help or guide me to a good resource I would appreciate it.

If anyone could help with this question I'd appreciate it. Thanks.

    Gail:
the next operation would be an external operation in your order ? That is, has some external Operation Control Key?
Then the PurReq for this operation is created at creation or release of the production order by the total operation quantity. Ovelapping allows you to reduce some total time in order, but I don think that can be applied for the purpose you describe. Let us know more details about your requirement.

  • Pattern background overlap

I'm having problems creating pattern swatches in cs6, because I can't seem to solve the problem of  the background overlapping and hiding foreground shapes. I can make patterns without a background and I think I've worked out how to prevent the problem with a simple grid, but when I make a brick tile pattern, whichever overlap options I choose, at least one of the foreground shapes gets partly obscured by the overlapping background. I'm used to making seamless patterns in previous versions of Illustrator, by using guides and grids, then defining the pattern using a background rectangle but this option doesn't seem to be available in CS6, so if I can't solve the problem, it's back to CS5 :-(
    Anyone else overcome this problem?

Hi. I seem to have solved this problem, but thought I'd post screenshots anyway in case anyone else is struggling with it. Above are two screenshots of a pattern with a brick by column tile type. I've exaggerated the colours to try and show the problem. The first one shows how the pink background rectangle, if it's placed in the centre of the tile, cuts off the left edge of the black motif (shown as a grey motif in the dimmed area). If you change the overlap options, the other side gets cut off. I found that if you move the background rectangle so that it covers just one quarter of the tile, as shown in the second screenshot, with the overlap on the same edges as any overlap of the motifs, the problem is solved. Any overlap of the motifs also need to be confined to either the top edge, or the bottom edge, and the left edge or the right edge. It can't overlap both (at least I don't think so). I also made the background rectangle the same size as the tile (which is defined in the pattern options panel). I know this sounds complicated, believe me, I've wracked my brains over it for ages, but once I was able to visualize what was going on, it all gradually became clearer. I think once I've got the hang of it, it will be easier than using guides and defining the pattern. It's certainly easy to use for creating simple patterns, but the more complicated patterns take a bit of thinking about. I can't say I've had a problem with blends or symbols. What happens if you try to save a pattern with a blend or symbol?

  • Overlapping and splitting in routing master.

    Hi...
I'm setting the PP routing master and using the capacity requirement planning.
Do you have any definition or document about the overlapping and splitting in routing master ?
In part of overlapping. There are the options
    - Required overlapping, Optional overlapping, Continuous flow prod
Could you please explain how does the system calculate the lead time in production when I use the different option together with Min.overlap time or Min. send-ahead qty ?
    Best Regards

  • Overlapping and splitting

    Dear All,
What is Overlapping and splitting, where do i  assign?

    Now
    Splitting
An operation is split if it is carried out on several machines or by several persons at the same time (see figure).
Splitting an operation has the following effects on the operation dates:
The processing time/execution time becomes shorter.
Setup and teardown must be carried out more than once for the operation
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_47x200/HELPDATA/EN/7e/d419b7455911d189400000e8323c4f/frameset.htm
    Overlapping
To reduce the lead time of a routing or production order you can overlap operations. This means that an operation starts before the previous operation has finished
You can define for each individual operation whether it should overlap with the next consecutive operation and in what way. To do this you can set the following indicators:
    Required overlapping
This means the operations always overlap
    Optional overlapping
This means the operations overlap if scheduling uses a reduction level that allows overlapping
    Flow manufacturing
This means the system extends the lead time of all operations, that overlap using flow manufacturing, to the same length as the lead time of the longest of these operations. As with required overlapping, the operations always overlap.
For every type of overlapping you can
Define a minimum overlap time which only allows overlapping after a particular minimum limit has been reached.
Define a minimum send-ahead quantity to ensure that the operation is performed for a particular minimum quantity of the material to be produced, before the next operation starts.

  • Print tile problem

I have a one page pdf document I want to print enlarged on several pages.
I'm running Acrobat Pro on a mac OS 10.6.7 with an epson workForce 840.
I follow instructions (see below) and selected tiling options but the print out is reduced rather than enlarged.
Does anyone have a solution? Much obliged!
Here are the directions I followed:
    Print an oversized document
Although you can create a PDF file as large as 15,000,000 inches (38,100,000 cm) in either direction, most desktop printers cannot print such large pages. To print an oversized document on your desktop printer, you can print each page in pieces, called tiles, and then trim and assemble those pieces.
You can also increase the scale of a standard-sized document and print it on multiple pages.(note: dosen't say how to do this and scaling up in "tile scale" does not increase the print out size but rather seems to reduce it.
    Choose File > Print.
From the Page Scaling menu, choose Tile All Pages if all pages of the document are oversized. If some of the pages are standard-sized, choose Tile Large Pages.
(Optional) Set any of these options, referring to the Preview image to check the output results:
    Tile Scale
Adjusts the scaling. The scaling affects how the sections of the PDF page map to the physical sheet.
    Overlap
Specifies the minimum amount of duplicated information you want printed on each tile for ease in assembly. The Overlap option uses the unit of measure specified for the document. The value should be greater than the minimum nonprinting margins for the printer. You can specify up to half the size of the shortest side of the document page to overlap. For example, tiles for a page that measures 11-by-17 inches (279.4mm-by-431.8mm) can overlap up to 5.5 inches (139.7mm).
    Labels
Includes the PDF name, date of printing, and tile coordinate on every sheet. For example, Page 1 (1,1) means row 1, column 1 of the first page. Tile coordinates are used for reassembling the tiles.
    Cut Marks
Prints marks on each corner of a tiled page for ease of assembly. Use this option in conjunction with the Overlap option. When you specify an overlapping edge and then superimpose those edges, you can use the cut marks to line up the tiles.

I think that your problem might be that you are not using a PostScript printer. It works on a PS printer.

  • How to Set Default Transition in FCPX?

FCP Studio allowed you to "Make a Favorite" and set it as the default.  FCPX has a "Favorite" item in a drop-down menu, but it doesn't seem to set a chosen transition as a default.  How to you set a default in FCPX?

    Hi,
this is directly from the help menu:
    Set transition defaults
Choose Final Cut Pro > Preferences, or press Command-Comma (,), and click Editing.
    Set the transition default settings.
Default length: This sets the length, in seconds, of all transitions you add to the Timeline. You can adjust the transition length after it is in the Timeline.Note:  Some transitions have a set duration and do not follow this setting.
Apply transitions using: This defines where the transition’s video content comes from. For information about the “Apply transitions using” setting, seeTransition overlap options.

  • I should know this by now

Ive been using logic for a while now and this has never been a problem. When I record audio lets say vocals and I have the overlap option on, when we swing around for a new take because he or she mess up why does the audio underneath not go away. Answer: Because I have overlap on. True or False. Ok so now we lay vocals again he needs two tracks to get his 16 bars down. So after all is said and done I try to slice the start and end points so I can combine the tracks, But the other takes are getting in the way. Like when I select a certain region to move it, the other mistakes start to show and I cant seem to get rid of them. From now on Im going to delete any take we dont use right then and there during the time of recording. Im not into being spoon feed, just help me define what it is Im doing so I can know what to look for in the manual. Is it under managing audio or what. Thanks to all. I know this is something by now I should understand but hay what can I say.

    mvee.
FYI, you probably would benefit from using "replace mode". This is enabled by clicking on the orange X in the transport.
This will make Logic behave more like a tape machine, in that any punch ins will replace the audio its recording over. The main difference from a tape machine though, is that the audio is still on the hard drive. You can either simply undo, or "peel back" the original audio.
Also, understanding that Logic can have many tracks assigned to the same audio object will help here, if you were unaware.
So each time you take a new pass at the vocal, simply mute the previous track, and record on the new track (same audio object) This way, you don't have multiple passes piling up on top of each other, should you decide to work that way.

  • Not able to draw any AP Divs

Hello everyone. I'm quite new to Dreamweaver so please bear with me. For some reason all of a sudden I can't draw any AP Divs anywhere except  on the background of a window. When I try to draw an AP div over another layer I can't; my mouse gets the black circular icon with a line going through it. When I draw one on the background and then try to move it on top of another AP Div I can't. This isn't just on ONE particular page I'm  working on, its on all pages I have on Dreamweaver, on completely  different templates for different websites I'm working on. The ONLY way I'm able to get an AP Div to go on top of another layer is to draw it on the background and THEN go to the properties panel and change the positioning by entering new values for L,W,T&H. But this is obviously far from ideal and I want to be able to do it manually with my mouse
Everything was working fine earlier and I;ve never had this problem in the several weeks I've been using Dreamweaver but now all of a sudden I can't draw any AP Divs. Has anyone got any idea as to why this has happened? Have I accidently pressed/changed something?
I really appreciate any help! Thanks

You need to know that drawing AP divs is not a healthy thing to do.  Most websites can be built without ever using AP divs.  And in fact, the wholesale use of AP for layout purposes probably accounts for >30% of the posts here.  It's just not the right way to make your pages - to see why, read this -
    http://www.apptools.com/examples/pagelayout101.php
It sounds like you have inadvertently clicked the "Prevent overlaps" option on the CSS Panel.  Please leave it checked to wean yourself away from using these dangerous tools.

  • Load Transactional Data Current Year: 0PM_OM_OPA_1

    Hi Experts,
We are doing load monitoring on dailiy basis, As we are doing some testing in the BW Development system, we are loading data into the cube 0PM_C01. we want to load the current year data (2007-2008). but whenever we are trying to load through the InfoPackage "Load Transactional Data Current Year: 0PM_OM_OPA_1" it doesn't delete previous load requests. It was initially configured with this option not selected. we recently changed it, but it still doesn't delete. The only difference we see between this load and others that do delete is that this one is executed from a process chain rather than an InfoPackage Group. What do we need to do to make it delete previous load requests?
And moreover the data is updated in the data target with two infosources namely 0PM_OM_PA_1 and 0PM_OM_PA_2.
Because you eliminated use of the four conditions, it deleted the delta initialization and delta update requests loaded from InfoSource 0PM_OM_OPA_2.  We don't want it to do that!!!  I'm not sure whether we had any test data in the cube that had been loaded from the flat file, but I imagine it would delete those as well.  I believe we need all four conditions checked,
So please help me in this regard. points will be assigned.
    Regards
    sekhar

    Hi experts,
    Please help in this regard.
we are loading the data from two insources to one data target. two insources are :
0PM_OM_OPA_1 and 0PM_OM_OPA_2 , as they are loading the  current year data.
we have scenario like this please give your valauble inputs.
I am still perplexed by the "Overlapping" option.  Why doesn't the "Same or more comprehensive" option work?  The requests we want it to replace have identical Data Selection because they were loaded by the same InfoPackage.  The InfoPackage "Load Transactional Data Current Year: 0PU_IS_PS_2" (ZPAK_3RUTSXU2BWPBKELMBE0T6NS3U) uses the "Same or more comprehensive" option and it does delete previous requests.  What is different about 0PM_OM_OPA_1?
points will be assigned for the speedy reply.
    thanks

  • Is Sequence Layers command broken in After Effects CC 12.2.1.5?

I select 10 layers.  I select Animation > Keyframe Assistant > Sequence Layers.  I choose the Overlap option.  I set an offset of 9 seconds.  I click OK.  Nothing happens.  Not one thing.  Not one layer is moved at all.  This used to be working.  Is it broken in 12.2.1.5?  Is anyone else experiencing this?  Has anyone found a solution?

I cannot get this to break... Works fine for me. Try setting all layers to 20 frames and set the overlap to 0.
Is your comp long enough to hold the sequenced layers. Lets see, I don't know how long the layers are but if the overlap is 9 seconds (wow that's allow dissolve) Then you need 10 times the length of your total footage - 90 seconds for a comp length.

  • Printing Blueprints (Tile)

i am having such difficulty trying to print some blueprints out using Preview.
i haven't done this in quite a while but i know that it was at least at one point possible.
i want to print a PDF that the actual size is 24" x 36".
i want to "tile" the page so that my single page will be printed using roughly 12 sheets of paper and maintain the true scale of the document.
when i try to print and i get the "print box" i go to the "layout" and there is an option for "pages per sheet". when i select 9 or 16 it just scales my document down to a 9th or 16th of the page.
it is the same result as if i used the "images per page" drop down in the page of the "print box"
this is ********. i have searched forums and have seen responses including all kinds of steps including 3rd party software. can this be true... naw it can't be.

it would help if you used the right software. Preview is, as the name suggests, an app that is supposed to be used to preview images. It is not particularly gifted at printing images. That is not its proper function.
I, personally, have used Graphic Converter for most low-level graphic image-handling jobs for well over a decade. GC has an 'Overlap' option which does exactly what you want. GC is shareware, and fairly cheap if you decide that you'll be using it long-term. There are other ways to do what you want. None of them involve using Preview as is, out of the box. You will have to use something else. That's how it is.

  • "apply transitions using" is missing in my preference dialog box!

Why do I not have the "apply transitions using" in my preference dialog box?

    Clodimedius wrote:
There is a way to avoid using the overlap mode, which is very simple.
Instead of using Command T to apply the default transition and shorten the video, drag the transition from the list of transition in the media browser effects library on the right.
This way, the default overlap mode is applied, instead of using the available media.
I am sorry, but this is just wrong. The default option is "using available media", as it should, no matter how you apply the transition. Like James said, you only get the "overlap" option if there is no available media to work with.
By the way, this has been this way for quite some time already (I think since 10.0.1, but I can't be sure).

  • Convert group items to single object?

In order to make both sides of this shape symmetrical, I drew half of it with the pen tool, then did a copy/paste. I rotated the second piece horizontally, then aligned them to give the appearance of a sinlge item. I want to convert this to a single object so I can apply a gradient effect to it. Can someone help me? Here's what I have:

Pathfinder Merge is just an effect. It doesn't join things physically.
Merge (in the Pathfinder palette) is not a live effect. And it does "join things."
Merge unions (add) contiguous areas of same-colored fills and punches (subtract) overlapping areas of different-colored fills.
So in effect, it creates paths which are actually shaped like what you see, in terms of regions of contiguous fills. It "merges" areas of same color that touch, and removes any overlaps.
(This is particularly useful in prepping artwork for vinyl cutting, because it eliminates crosscuts and overlaps. I have long argued that it should provide a settings dialog to make overlap optional and adjustable so that in such situations, it could serve to build traps at the same time, which is usually needed in artwork assembled from vinyl.)
Like most Pathfinders, it can only work with fills; it doesn't properly handle strokes, so it wrecks artwork containing strokes. You have to use Outline Stroke before you use Merge if you don't want to loose strokes.
I would not, however, have suggested Merge for TC's situation, because it would not perform the union if the two paths had different fills. Union (Pathfinder Add) is the normal and customary way to do this.
As for those situations in which abutting edges may not perfectly align, I often simply draw a third path that overlaps the two being unioned using any closed path drawing tool to make sure of there being overlap; then do the union on the three paths; then use the minus pen tool to remove any unwanted anchors. That is often simpler than tedioiusly aligning anchors, which often doesn't work anyway because a single slightly extended control handle can cause the edges to misalign. It helps ensure you don't accidently create a compound path instead.
