Fried my battery with variable voltage charger... new battery; wont work

so i plugged my ipod into one of those cheesy charge anything car adapters when it was on the wrong voltage setting. only took a few seconds before my ipod died, permanently... so i ordered a replacement battery and installed it... but for some reason it wont take a charge when i plug it into my comp... i figured the new battery was faulty so i got sneaky and popped the case off my girlfriends ipod and plugged my battery into it and connected it to my computer, and the **** thing turned on... so after my new battery was charged i took it out of my girlfriends and put it back into mine and it turned on... i was stoked, until i plugged it into my comp it said "battery low please connect to power source", beeped at me a few times and shut off. the battery has a full charge but it wont connect thru the usb cord to my computer or a wall charger... why cant my ipod connect anymore did i fry some internal circuitry as well as the battery... please offer any advice you might have im stumped and i cant just pull the case of my girlfriends ipod everytime i need a charge.

I assume by wrong voltage setting, you mean you had it set too high? Was it connected to your iPod through a USB connection?

AIR give you classes to detect an on-line or off-line status, it's in
this way for the sake of flexibility for instance what happens if you
only what to sync data only on Saturdays at 2 am? If it were done

you list bits you have tried but don't say if you have tried a new lead?
i'm not being tricky, as an electronics engineer of some 40+ years who repairs consuls, iPhones, iPads etc. i have some experience of what gets overlooked. Some of the cheap after market leads aren't the best quality,and some darn right lethal, likely to catch fire while your asleep. you might have bought of them.
i find it tends only genuine Apple leads lock in, but there might be fakes of them to. either way worth a go. perhaps se if your family or mates have one.

Drive heat tape with variable voltage

I am looking to wrap some copper pipe with heat tape and drive the heat tape by either varying the voltage or current based on a temperature reading taken from the pipe. I am hoping someone here has done this before and can recommend heat tape that can be driven in this manner, with a programmable power supply driven by LabVIEW. I have done a little looking but am only finding heat tape that is either on or off, but it seems like what I am looking for shoulod exist. Any thoughts or suggestions are welcome.

With a variable voltage power supply you could very well implement PID control.
We do something similar in one of our temperature-control products but do on-off PWM for PID control. The tape is switched by an SSR, and depending on the PID calculations the on-off times vary. Duty cycle is about 2 seconds.

Keeping constant speed with variable voltage using Phidgets

I have 4 motors, 3 of which are being monitored using encoders. What I want to be done is have the user input certain variables and then have those variables control the process. My main program is the first attachment. My control is the second attachment. I call the phidget that I'm using to power my motors, Motor Controller, and it has a 0-10VDC range. I'm using signal isolators that act as the pots for DC drive boxes that then control 90VDC motors.
The problem I'm having is I'm not sure how to control the voltage properly. After the user inputs the variables, I then want the signal isolators to ramp up the voltage to get the motors to drive at the user input run speed. All the speeds won't be exactly the same, which is why I use the "Equal-Greater-Less" VI 4 different times. (ie. The desired run speed might be 15 ft/min, but the chopper speed might need to be faster or slower depending on application.) Once the voltage is ramped up enough to keep the motors at the desired levels, I want it to slighly adjust, if needed, to make sure that the encoders are showing the same measured speed as the desired speeds. Currently the way I have it now, I have either 0 V or 10 V outputs. I don't want the voltages to be extremes. If the puller encoder is showing that the the measured speed is 14.5 and I want it to be at 15, I don't want 10V to be output to that signal isolator. Basically, my question is, how can I have a variable voltage control for the code to try to keep the measured speed at the desired speed.
*I have three attachments for reference, but my main question is in the Equal-Great-Less Vi. Also, I know there are other little things that still need to be done. I know that my program won't run at this time. The Event structure will also be removed at the end. I have it in there now so I can manually control each motor by itself for testing.

- It's RubeGoldberg to convert boolean conditions to enums just to select one of two cases…
- By moving index and output outside the inner case structure you don't need local variables…
- Comparing floats for equality is very dangerous as has been explained a lot of times before…

Hi When you change your iPad, even if its off it will, turn on when you connect, to charger Check lightining port for any bits. Do a Reboot press &hold power button & menu button hold both down until you see Apple Logo This may help. Cheers Brian

Hi. My iPhone4 won't turn on unless it is in the charger. But when its in the charger it will not charge. If I take out the charger my iphone wont work.

In order to troubleshoot this issue where your iPhone will not power on without the charger, please follow the steps below.
Will not turn on, will not turn on unless connected to power, or unexpected power off
Verify that the Sleep/Wake button functions. If it does not function, inspect it for signs of damage. If the button is damaged or is not functioning when pressed, seek service.
Check if a Liquid Contact Indicator (LCI) is activated or there are signs of corrosion. Learn about LCIsand corrosion.
Connect the iPhone to the iPhone's USB power adapter and let it charge for at least ten minutes.
After at least 30 minutes, if:
The home screen appears: The iPhone should be working. Update to the latest version of iOS if necessary. Continue charging it until it is completely charged and you see this battery icon in the upper-right corner of the screen . Then unplug the phone from power. If it immediately turns off, seek service.
The low-battery image appears, even after the phone has charged for at least 20 minutes: See "iPhone displays the low-battery image and is unresponsive" symptom in this article.
Something other than the Home screen or Low Battery image appears, continue with this article for further troubleshooting steps.
If the iPhone did not turn on, reset it while connected to the iPhone USB power adapter.
If the display turns on, go to step 4.
If the display remains black, go to next step.
Connect the iPhone to a computer and open iTunes. If iTunes recognizes the iPhone and indicates that it is in recovery mode, attempt to restore the iPhone. If the iPhone doesn't appear in iTunes or if you have difficulties in restoring the iPhone, see this article for further assistance.
If restoring the iPhone resolved the issue, go to step 4. If restoring the iPhone did not solve the issue, seek service.

New Itunes wont work!!! :-(

I dont know whats going on, when i opened itunes it said that there was a new update and i was all like ya!!!....Not any more!!! When i was downloading the quick times part there was some errar and it said i could debug. so i did and everthing was fine. When i went to open up itunes it would not open at all. It would just show the bizzy icon and then nother. I removed both itunes and quick times and then trying to reinstall but still nothing. No errar this time but sill wont work. Need help plzzz.

i'm getting the exact same thing on my computer and i don't like it, iTunes has only gotten more and more problems ever since v.4(the version i started with), it seems like they need to take MORE TIME on the updates before they put them out and instead of having us have to hunt for the fix to the problem we're having and fixing it ourselves they should make corrected updates. all i know is i'm growing more displeased with each update of iTunes. am i the only one that feels this way???

I am just beside myself. Safari wont work. I have broadband and all is well there with comcast, I've run disk warrior, all is well there. I've run disk first aid to check and verify disk. All well there. I upgraded to OS 10.4.11 from Upgrade on my g5, and safari wont load its face page; it just hangs pale blue highlight over half of this phrase "Go to this address." It wont go to any addy or bookmark I click on. It is like a dead thing
I have tried everything I know. I am just so disappointed in apple. So not understanding what to do. I am not computer saavy and this is such a disaster; this is my computer for my work; I'm a work at home mom.
Please can anyone help me? I read people saying third party things, but I do not know what they mean or what those 3rd party things are by name.

there are many many app supports listed in the applications support folders. Some have zero items, some have several. Where do I start? I used command+I to see info, but for some reason each folder doesnt have info, just date created and modified, and no version number either.

Some of these, most of them, I have no idea what they are. I dont have a Nikon anything; tho one printer I have is a canon, and one is an hp. The New Yorker is I think a large pdf file of images from a commercial New Yorker disk. THe others I am not sure. Some have files inside the folders, some have 0 items.

If they are, then I figure out who made them and then find their website and if they have upgrade for safari 3.0.4 (or is it to match OS 10.4.11?) then I upgrade, but if the maker has no upgrade, then I trash the old item?

The Basic Troubleshooting Steps are:
Restart... Reset... Restore from Backup... Restore as New...

If you try all these Steps and you still have issues... Then a Visit to an Apple Store or AASP (Authorized Apple Service Provider) is the Next Step... Be sure to make an appointment first...

G500 with Radeon HD 8750, new games not working.

I have a Lenovo G500 with Intel HD4000 and Radeon HD 8750M switchable graphics.
I was having trouble getting Kings Bounty: The Dark Side to work and also Divinity Original Sin. They were just crashing to the desktop. I updated the graphics driver from AMD's site through their autodetect facility. Once it upgraded the drivers, the "Configure Switchable Graphics" option disappeared from the menu.
After hours of messing about trying to fix that, I ended up doing a factory reset and instead install the latest drivers from Lenovo's site. The driver package contains an older driver for the Radeon 8750M, but at least this time I haven't lost the "Configure Switchable Graphics" option.
However, when telling the graphics option "High Performance" for those two games, they both still crash to the desktop. Using "Power Saving", hence using the integrated Intel graphics, the games work, but obviously have a very low frame rate.
Is there any chance that the official driver package from Lenovo can be updated to contain the latest Radeon drivers? Or do you think the issue lies elsewhere. Remember this is a clean install of Windows 8.1 since the OneKey factory reset.

If I update it with the driver from AMD's site, it loses the ability to configure switchable graphics, so I think it needs to be from Lenovo. i.e. a bundled Intel and Radeon driver with switchable graphics. Installing the driver direct from AMD makes the "configure switchable graphics" option disappear from the right-click on desktop, and it's a real palava to get it back.
The games work with the Intel, they only crash when High-Performance is selected, hence why I'm pointing it to the Radeon driver needing updating.

My Old/New Iphone wont work

My friend recently got a new IPhone3GS, because of that, he gave me his old IPhone3G. I immediately went to settings, reset, and I reset the whole Iphone, and all the data. It was taking a while, but what I didn't know was that it had a low battery. Around the half way mark of the format the battery died, I plugged it in, and I-Tunes wont recognize it. I try turning it on, and it brings up the Apple Logo, for about 15-30 seconds, and it flashes and turns off. I have been keeping it plugged in, so it is not a battery issue. How would I fix this?

When using the reset all data and settings option with the iPhone, the iPhone should be connected to a power source and remain connected until the process is complete. This is a secure erase.
Try placing the iPhone into recovery mode. If successful, this will require restoring the iPhone with iTunes.

New itunes wont work on my G5 and now i cant backup my devices

Ok, i litterally just found out a few min ago that i need the latest and gratest itunes to even sync my devices (iphone 4) how am i to sync my phone? I have apps on it which require physically connecting them to my computer. Any ideas out there? i can still sync my ipad but it has IOS 5.1.1. If i cant sync my phone im just going to have to go back to IOS 5.1.1.

If you have an iPhone5 you have to use iTunes 10.7. If you have anything else, especially older equipment even with iOS6, you can use iTunes 10.6.3 which will run on a G5.

Remember with an older computer you will find more and more hardware and software will not work with it. You should pay attention to system requirements before updating anything or buying new components.
