Friends receive different contact information (name/number) when coming from different apple devices (iPhone 4 & Macbook Air)

Whenever I use iMessage on my iPhone 4 and send messages to my friends they receive the messages just fine and I can also view them in the iMessages app on my Macbook Air, however, whenever i reply to their response via my Macbook Air it doesn't seem to use the same contact information as my iPhone 4. My friends receive a new contact with the message i sent from my Macbook Air. How do i get them to use the same contact information so i can continue a conversation without my friends realizing that im using different devices?

On the iPhone
Settings > Messages and adjust the Send From and Received At options
On the Mac
Messages > Preferences > Accounts iMessages account
You may need to go to the Send From drop down at the bottom.
The Mac version has Received At check boxes and a separate Send From drop down.
The issue comes around which type of iMessage the Mac versions see the messages as.
The chances are that it arrives after the iPhone gets the "original" and therefore is seen as A "Sync copy".
As this is not an on-going conversation the app regards what you see as a reply and a New Message and Sends From comes in to play.
You may also have different Received At and Send Froms set up on each device.

Dear Loner T, thanks a lot or your quick reply - my current version is 10.9.5 and it is a MacBook Air from 2013.
However - in the meantime before your reply - I did do the following and got it working again: latest itunes update which came in just minutes after I posted this problem plus after the update I closed the mac via keynote (keynote and pages were the only programs where the apple symbol did respond) - strange, but now everything runs perfectly again.

Hello experts, I need that when a user calls to our Service Desk in order to create an incident, the incident gets the creation timestamp of the user country. We support three countries from our service desk, and in order to calculate SLAs and having local factory calendars for each country we need the things this way, is it possible?

what about the Option of determining one of three SLA Service Products (with assigned Service + Response Profile) via the Country of the Reporter?

Try to restore your iphone via iTunes or update to ios6.1.2.
If itunes gives an error with restoring (DFU/Recovery or just normal)
try this:
open your computer and search on windows; C://windows/system32/drivers/etc/hosts
open up the hosts file in note pad you will see IP adresses and more add another line and put in this:
#74.208.10.249 gs.apple.com
this is a by-pass to the cydia/saurik restore server, it has nothing to do with jailbreaking over voiding apple's warranty

Show a different view when called from different app.

Hi,
I have the requirement of showing a different view in the same window when called from different apps (urls).
I have created different start-up inbound plugs and assigned them to the different apps but I can't figure out how to code the view switch.
Any idea?

hi,
It is possible.
Click on the Properties tab of application.In that screen click on the seach help option against Interface view.It will show all views you have created. Select the desired view to which the application has to point.
Don't forget to give the plug name which is under that interface view
Now the application invokes the new view which u have pointed.

I would like to make my full name disappear when sending from my primary email address. so the recipient when receives my email can see only my email address, i.e. email address of the sender. In Preferences, Accounts, my full name is greyed out and I cannot change it. If I try to do Custom, it would let me change it, i.e. delete my name from Full Name box, but then when Mail is closed and reopened, it would lose the previously saved Custom setting and go back to the same. All my other aliases associated with this email account work ok and the receiver sees only the email address.
Does anyone know what is going on?

What if you remove the .mac account from the Accounts panel under mail Preference?
If that doesn't work, sign into the webmail at me.com, click the "sprocket" button and select preference, in preference go the the aliases tab see if you can remove the email address with your name. If not, go to composing tab see if there is anything you can remove from the +Identity: send email as field+. Good luck.

I seriously doubt that the track names are incorrect in the iTunes store and when downloaded to your computer.

It doesn't change on your device automatically. To change the iCloud ID on an iOS device you have to go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, provide the password for the old ID when prompted to turn off Find My iDevice, then sign back in with the ID you wish to use. If you don't know the password for your old ID, or if it isn't accepted, and if your old ID is an earlier version of your current ID, go to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID. Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change. Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address. You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iDevice on your device, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then save any photo stream photos that you wish to keep to your camera roll. When finished go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud). Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was. Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.
To change the ID on your Mac, go to System Preferences>iCloud, sign out, then sign back in with the new ID.

Mapping users coming from different domain in AD

HI,
We have configured vintela SSO which is working.Now we are trying to add another domain but it has been unsuccessful.
We have imported the users coming from other domain in CMC->AD, and UseFDQNDirectoryForServers parameter in registry.
The issue is our complex krb5.ini errors as "cannot find kdc for realm" for the user account coming from the other domain.The existing domain kinit is successful.
Please help in resolving this issue!!! We need to have users coming from different domain to use vintela SSO.

well you're mixing things up a bit.
The usefqdnfordirectoryservers is used to map in groups. If the groups show up as well as the users that piece should be complete.
the krb5.ini is for logging in users manually, it must conatin the KDC for every domain that may contain users that need to log into BO. It also must have a KDC or capath entry to define all the parent domains as well (even if they do not have members that need to login. This is how the krb5 is used to verify transitive trusts. Then all users that are not in the default domain must logon as username@ DNSDOMAIN.COM where the DNS domain is entered in all caps aqnd represents the FQDN of theidomain the users bewlong to. Now if not logging in manually this should be a big problem.
So for SSO (vintela anyway) this process is automatic, although you may want to configure vintela with site information so it doesn't randomly use all your DC's Site can be set following the steps at the end of business objects note 1261835 (complete and vintela only editions).
In order for vintela to work properly the value entered in CMC > Authentication > Windows AD > service principal name must = an SPN thet was created on the account that is running the SIA/CMS

Thanks for the response! I was wondering if it would be possible to contact Apple and ask them to manually link this phone number with my Apple ID, so that I could receive messages on both? Im guessing this wouldnt be possible?
