These message yoy are receiving are probably just a particular type of spam. However it is also possible (unlikely) that your email account is being used to send spam, and that these are the bounce messages.
To tell the difference, you need to look at the email headers. Open the message, then go to the View menu and select Message -> All Headers.
Select the text and post it back here (remembering to obscure your own email address first).

I’d be happy to help with this messaging error! This will be due to the device storing the number incorrectly. Please do the following to resolve the issue:
Delete texts from both old number and new
Delete any call logs including these numbers
Delete old number from contacts
Delete new number from contacts
Restart device
Send text to the new number directly (do not save as contact)
Once the text sends successfully, you can then save as a new contact

Receive texts from some group members, not all group members

Hello!
I have an iPhone 5S and recently purchased an iMac. iMac is on OSX Yosemite and iPhone is on iOS 8.1.2
Recently I have been involved in a few group SMS text chains and I am receiving texts from some of the group members but not all of them. I can receive texts individually from everyone in the group.
I was recently playing around with iMessage on my new iMac and feel like I may have done something in the setup that caused this issue.
Anyone know what's going on? I reset network settings on my phone and closed out iMessage on my computer (I also signed out of iMessage completely)

If iMessage is turned off on both devices and you are still unable to receive their texts, it is a carrier issue, the carrier will need to resolve it.
If iMessage is turned on on both devices and you are unable to receive their texts, it's an iMessage setup issue.

Phone Sent Text Message That I Did Not Send

My friend received a text message from me that I did not send. She showed me her phone, that it came from my phone.
I showed, my text messages and that I did not.
When she responded to it, the message did come back to me.
What my phone hacked? Was her phone hacked? What could have caused this?

While I have people tell me that all the time, I also see some of these same people leave their phones on the counter in the next room. This is not in their "possession the entire time" even though they claim it to be. You would be the first person I have EVER seen with their phone in their "possession the entire time". It is simply not the case in most situations.

I am getting undeliverable mail from people I did not send mail to. How can I get this to stop?

Some received an e-mail i did not send! have i been hacked? what do i do?

Someone just asked if I sent an e-mail to her...and a lot of other people that are in my address list were sent it as well. I DID NOT send it! What do I do? Have I been hacked? Help please.

Was it some kind of spam?
One possibility is that someone has access to your account. The best thing to do about that is immediately change your password.
Another possibility is that there is malware on your computer manipulating it. This article lists a variety of tools you can use to supplement your regular security software in checking for and removing malware: [[Troubleshoot Firefox issues caused by malware]].
Another possibility is that at some point, someone got a copy of your address book, but they are sending the messages from a different account. Unfortunately, it is easy for spammers to "forge" your name and email address as the sender of a message.
Or maybe it's a coincidence and spammers are randomly mixing and matching from and to addresses to see if they can slip past the filters?
I think without more information from the recipient(s), it is difficult to know which of these is the case. For example, the recipients could compare the message headers for a real message and a spam message and compare the servers the messages passed through. Spam sent by automated means from elsewhere on the internet usually travels through a different set of servers between the sender and recipient. That's what I would expect to find. If they are identical, then I would be more concerned about malware or an intruder on your account.

Problems receiving texts from AT&T

Searched through the forums, briefly, and found a few topic related but no answers that helped or pertained to my particular issue.
Started about 2 months ago with not being able to receive calls or texts from AT&T customers on my DroidX. I called tech support and they fixed the calling part but i still do not receive texts from AT&T. I can send to AT&T but get nothing in return. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm sure it's not on AT&T's end because my wife's phone works fine.

I'm glad to learn that you're able to make calls to AT&T customers. Let's take a further look into messaging, too! When inter-carrier messaging occurs, the carriers use a third party company to deliver each message. If you're getting messages from other carriers other than AT&T, the messages are being stopped between AT&T and the message carrier. I'm happy to look into the troubleshooting we did to resolve the calling issue to ensure we didn't miss anything. Please PM me to do so. I do recommend this gets escalated on AT&T's side by the person(s) you text with.

Friend received a text from me saying that to read the text he should hit the download button that i did not send

Just got a text from a friend that claims he received a text from me. This text told him that to "receive my text" he needed to hit a download button that was in the text. i DID NOT send him any text! This is alarming! I immediately changed my Apple ID and password. Should i be worried? Has anyone experienced this and what does it mean?!

Perhaps your friends phone has been hacked.
Unless yours has been jailbroken, it has not been hacked.
It would seem far more likely that your friend has the issue, than you.

I am in the middle east and I was calling a land line in Mexico but that should not have mattered. Moreover, the person I was speaking to told me they had gotten other text messages from me that know I never sent. I called my phone company (AT&T) and was told the problem was not with the system but with my Iphone. They suggested someone was using app that mimicked my phone number. Is such a think possible?

In addition to my iphone I have an itouch. I only just today created an appleID so that I could use this message board so it seems unlikely that the problem is the result of a misused ID

Not receiving texts from US Cellular friends only

I am not receiving texts from US Cellular subscribers only. I have been told by my nice customer service people at Verizon that it is probably a US Cellular issue. This just isn't sitting well with me. I do seem to be receiving texts from other carriers (Boost, Verizon, AT&T). My iphone 4S is updated as far as I can tell. I've only had a couple of weeks and I have yet to receive any of the messages US cellular people have sent (so it's not like they are delayed, etc. I just do not receive them). I am very frustrated and do not want a different phone. The reason I changed to Verizon FROM US Cellular was for the iphone 4S. Feeling very disappointed and frustrated. Love all the other features of this phone, but as a phone (which is the purpose of the thing) it has been sub standard. Anyone else having problems receiving text messages?
I have tried : turning imessage off. rebooting phone. updating network etc (options 1 & 2). I can send messages to these same people and they receive them. They can call me, but when they send me texts they never reach me.

Not receiving texts from iPhone users

I recently got a new Samsung Galaxy S4. I registered this phone to a new number.... I did not port an existing number to the phone. Since getting the phone, I have had trouble receiving texts from iphone users - their messages will not come through on my phone unless their imessage is turned off. As you can imagine, this is quite a hassle - having to explain this problem every time I give someone my number, and several people having to change their settings every time they text me.
I've done research on this problem, and it seems that this happens when you port a number from an iphone to an android. The problem is fixed when you update your apple id account, and delete the number from the imessage service. I am concerned that my current number used to be registered to an iphone - and that the number is possibly still associated with an imessage account. I have no way of changing this, so I'm stuck.
I understand that this may be a problem that only Apple can fix, but any advice you can give me would be greatly appreciated.

The good news is that you are absolutely on the right track. The best way to take care of this is to ensure the phone number is un registered with Apple/iMessage. You mentioned that this is a brand new phone number for you, so we would also like the opportunity to check a few things on your line as well. Do you receive any type of alert or error message when the iPhone text try to come through? Which application are you using, primarily, to send/receive text messages. Let us know! I seem to receive text msgs from people who don't have an iPhone but contacts that do, i don't always receive their msgs.

If you did not erase your apps and data before getting rid of your old phone, try using Find My Phone and erasing everything remotely. See if this works.

Not receiving texts from US Cellular phone

Starting yesterday 12/2, I stopped receiving texts from my husband's US Cellular phone. I got two random texts from him, but not the others he sent. I also sent him multiple texts and he never received any of them. Today, I received three texts from him this morning, but he sent more than that and he hasn't received any of the ones I sent him. I tried turning off my phone and leaving it off for awhile. I also did the second ios7 update on my iPhone 4. He believes it's an issue with my phone because he's receiving texts from other people through multiple carriers. Any suggestions?
Also, I'm not receiving any error messages or anything out of the ordinary. All texts appear to go through and have the times sent next to them.
