FRM-41032 when converting a form from 6i to 9i

We get "FRM-41032 Cannot set ENABLED attribute of current item" when using GO_ITEM move the cursor to another item and then setting the enabled property for the item we left. This used to work in 6i. If we place a dummy item at the start of the block, the error goes away but then our queries are messed up. We are using Forms 9.0.4.0.19.
Thanks,
Dave Ball

Setting the database property to "no' on the dummy item fixed it! We have a when-new-block trigger that calls a program unit that enables certain fields depending on the role. To do this, within the program unit, we have a go_item followed by a set-block-property to the former item. This worked in 6i but in 9i, the dummy item is needed. Thanks for your help.

When converting an image from raw to jpeg , the jpeg can look flat compared to the original raw image . Is there any way to prevent this ?

Hi Joe , Thank you for your quick response . I am viewing the jpeg in Microsoft Picture Manager and Flickr. It 's not always really noticeable , but for example if I shoot into the light with dew on the grass , the dew glistens in LRoom and I'm happy with the shot but when I convert it to jpeg ,it looks dull. I have changed the setting to sRGB - from Adobe 1998 ,but don't see much difference.  Kind regards   Alberto.

  • R-1219 error when converting to 6i from reports 2.5

    Hi again,
I'm converting some reports from 2.5 to 6i. When I run one of the forms with the rwbld60 runtime module, I get the
    message:
    R-1219 M_2_HDR has no size.
M_2_HDR is just a frame holding the header boilerplate objects. The message, when looked up, says that I have
created an object with no height or width. Yet when I check the properties, there are no height or width properties
    to change.
Both versions of reports are in a text based UNIX environment.
    Thanks,
    Jim

    hi
This error is usually encountered when a report was designed in
bitmap, but now is used character mode.
To correct the problem, you would increase the size of the object
to greater than half the height and width of a character cell, or
move your object horizontally/vertically to correspond to the
    character grid.
    Thanks

  • FRM-10256 when running a form generated with headstart

I have installed Headstart 2.1.2.0.2 on an Oracle8 Enterprise 8.1.6 database. I'm using Designer 6.0.3.8.0 and Forms 6.0.8.8.0. I can access the Headstart supplied applications (eg. Foundation, Utilities, Demo), and I can generate forms from within Designer without error. When I try to run my new form I get the message 'FRM-10256: User is not authorised to run Form Builder Menu' followed by 'FRM-41810: Error creating menu'. The form displays correctly, but without any menu. I haven't installed Developer on the database, it runs solely from the file system. Can you help?

To quickly solve your problem, set the generator preference Menu-Roles->Generate Menu Security to NO. (on Application level).
After generation menu should be loaded but with no security check.
The better way, of course, is to use menu security but the solution is more complex.

  • FRM-92102 when accessing a form using a Load Balancer

    Greetings.
We have two oracle application servers version 10.1.2.0.2 on windows 2003 running forms and reports. When just one a server is running everithing works fine, but when I start the second server the clients receive the message "FRM-92102 : A network error has occurred. The Forms Client has attempted to re-establish its connection to the Server 5 times without success. Please check the network connection and try again later" when the first form is called. In our coniguration the F5 Load Balancer is redirecting requests to the Apache ports in both Oas Machines, we are not using the webcache port. I read the note "FRM-92102 When Using A Software Load Balancer With Forms [ID 465583.1]" but this note applies when webcache is used. Our LBR is set using "insert cookie" persitent mechanism.
    I have the following questions:
What configuration is needed in OAS files in order to use a LBR and avoid the FRM-92102 error?
How can I debug or trace FRM-92102 issues?
    Thanks!
    Ramiro Ortiz.

FRM-92102 is the result of the client not getting a response from the server (mid tier). This generally means only one of a couple of things:
    1. The mid tier which parented the Forms session is not responding. This could be because it is overloaded, the web server (OHS or WebCache) is failing, or something else is preventing the client from getting a response.
    2. Client requests are being routed to the wrong mid-tier server. This is usually the result of improper load balancer configuration or an LB failure. However, generally in this case FRM-92101 would result. If you are using an unpatch 10.1.2 installation, as I believe you are (10.1.2.0) then seeing either error may be possible.
Regarding the note that discusses using Oracle WebCache for load balancing, regardless of whether you are using an Oracle product or hardware or whatever for loadbalancing, the same concept will apply. The load balancer must have session binding enabled. Understanding whether or not this is the problem should be fairly easy to determine. Simply shutdown one server. If everything works correctly, restart the second server. If the problem now occurs, you can likely assume you have a session binding issue and should likely refer to the load balancer's documentation or their Support group.
Also, important to understand is that if the load balancer is designed to alter the header information in any way, the likelihood of failing Forms sessions is high. Forms is expecting very specific information in the header exchange. Some intermediate servers (load balancers, ssl accelerators, firewalls, etc) have been known to intentionally or unintentionally alter the header. Again, contact the vendor.
If you are seeing that the client console is reporting 5 retry attempts, yet you have not set "networkRetries" in formsweb.cfg, this often suggests a critical tcp/ip failure. Often, but maybe not always, the result of a damaged header or other misconfiguration or failure outside of Forms.

  • When converting to iMac from windows, hotmail accounts cross messages?

Since I converted to imac from (2) PC's, I installed hotmail on the imac mail program.  I have (2) hotmail accounts, and (1) icloud.  Now, sending out emails from the imac, the messages sent out in one of the hotmail accounts are replied to and come back on the other hotmail account.  ?  This doesn't seem to appear to happen on the other PC's that still have the email accounts set up on them.  Does anyone have ideas?

If you take one of the edited-on-XP files which can not be edited a 2nd time on > XP, if you edit it on the Mac and save it, can it now be edited on XP?
    No.
Before and after editing a file for the first time on XP, open Terminal, change
to the folder where the files are stored, and give the command ls -l filename
and see is there any difference in the output.
Sorry but I'm not a Terminal/Unix whiz. I'm not quite sure what you're asking me to do here.
Interestingly, I had an occasion to open a file that had been previously edited and saved on XP and then copied over to the Mac. When I went to save it, I got msg:
"Microsoft Excel cannot access the file 'Macintosh:Users:david:Documents:aDL:Open Client Initiative:New Requirements.' There are several possible reasons: <none of which was the case>"
I then saved it to the desktop with no problem. Does this perhaps provide any clues?
    TIA,

  • Browser blank when running a form from forms builder ??

    Hi,
I am trying to run a form from forms builder.
I have a form , compiles, and when I run the form nothing comes up in my browser.
    my browser is completely blank.
I am running everything on my local machine.
    the steps I took.
    - downloaded jinit.exe, installed it.
    - started the OC4j
    - restarted my browser
    - then connect to my DB from forms builder - connects fine
    - Run the form
but nothing is coming up when i run my form.
I even restarted my machine and still nothing.
    What am I missing ??
    Thanks,

This is a fairly common question. If you have the Jnit installed and OC4J running, then I would suggest you add the directory where your FMX is located to the FORMS_PATH in the 'DEFAULT.ENV' file located in the %DEVSUITE_HOME%/forms/server directory. The FORMS_PATH variable defines the SEARCH Path for Forms Applications so Forms can find your .FMX and .PLX files.
You could also modify the URL and specify the Form='your_form_name.fmx', but I prefer adding the directory to the FORMS_PATH so I don't have to add FORMS="" for each different form I'm working on.
    Hope this helps,
    Craig B-)

  • FRM-47032 : when converting from forms6i to forms10g

    Hello,
There is a weird error I get when I execute a form that I have converted from forms6i (in a 8i db) into forms10g
There is no pb when I execute de form in the 8i db
But, it seems that the initialisation of a parameter cannot be done in the same way in the 10g
I get the message "FRM-47032: Cannot set value of parameter BLABLABLA in DEFAULT parameter list: internal error"
This parameter BLABLABLA is declare as a CHAR and defaulted with 'NO'
    Any idea?

    Thanks for the reply.
Anyway, after a long search, I found out that the problem was somewhere else, in our Webutil configuration...
And, therefore, the error I got, come from the ON_ERROR trigger, that ran right before the PRE_FORM trigger (because of a bad configuration of webutil)
    All is fine now.
    and the issue is closed.

  • FRM-41214 when calling a report from a form in DS1012

This is weird. I have a report that contains a lexical parameter that is intended to add an "AND" clause to the WHERE so I can use the same report to do an unrestricted query or a restricted query.
To do an unrestricted query, this works fine:
    ls_param := 'and_clause='||''||' paramform=no';
    SET_REPORT_OBJECT_PROPERTY(repid,REPORT_OTHER,ls_param);
    v_rep := RUN_REPORT_OBJECT(repid);
etc. according to all the notes on the matter. The report runs and brings back all rows because the "AND" part of the WHERE is null,
But as soon as I attempt to modify the ls_param variable, the form refuses to run. I am not mis-using the single quotes. I have all the quotes in variables as in:
    ls_and_clause := chr(32)||' AND id IN (';
to set the first part of the clause, followed by:
    FOR id_rec in id_list LOOP
    ls_and_clause := ls_and_clause ||QT||id_rec.id||QT||',';
    END LOOP;
where id_list is a cursor that brings back a list of IDs qualified per user, and QT is a variable that holds chr(39).
I have read the notes on being careful not to pass spaces, so everything is concatenated into a single variable that gets passed on the final
    SET_REPORT_OBJECT_PROPERTY(repid,REPORT_OTHER,ls_param);
    where ls_param includes something like "and_clause = 'AND id in ('901','902') paramform=no"
Seems to me, this should work. Does anyone else have any insight on doing this kind of thing?

Thanks for the toubleshooting tip. It helped me find the problem. For some reason when the AND clause included the table name, the report would not run. But when the AND clause does not include the table name, the report works:
AND table.col IN ('101','102') fails, but
    AND col IN ('101','102') works.
Go figure. I just hope I never have to do this when the table name is required to remove ambiguity.

  • Error in calling/converting smart form from ECC to pdf in portal.

    Hi,
We have a requirement in our project where we have to show IT form in portal exactly in the way payslip are shown in ESS
Screen, that is in the pdf form in ess portal screen.
For this my HR abap consultant has made one customize smart form which is being called from a RFC FM.
After the FM lf_fm_name gets executed , the OTF data is being captured and then converted in to PDF.
After that the PDF is then converted into XSTRING format which is then supplied to the portal side through export parameter
    of the RFC.
Now when we debugged the RFC, the conversion is taking place perfectly fine in to XSTRING.This is wat we assume.
Portal Side: I have used Iframe ui ELEMENT in my webdynpro java and its property source I have binded with a value attribute
of type string and I am executing above customize RFC given to me by my HR abap consultant and after executing that RFC with
userID and payroll year as its import parameter I am taking export parameter of that RFC with name pdf_string of type XSTRING
of that RFC into my webdynpro java value attribute which i binded to source property of Iframe.
Now when we see the output in portal , first of all pdf is not getting generated and its showing the error message:
file does not begin with '%pdf-' and secondly errored Adobe form getting opened outside Iframe window its not coming within
Iframe window like what payslip comes inside Iframe UI element.
I want to know what mistake we are doing in our ABAP coding or portal coding.
    Please help.

  • When converting a PDF from a scanned image on a Canon MFP, some of the text is jumbled

I am trying to use the Exportpdf.acrobat.com service and when I convert an image that was made into a pdf from Word, it is fine.  If I exposrt a pdf that was scanned in from a Canon IR 2030i MFP, some of the text comes out jumbled and un-readable.  Is there a certain setting to fix this?

Doc: I've had a similar experience, and here are the details, investigation, and a workaround. My printer is a Brother MFC-645CN, and I'm using Snow Leopard (10.6.8) on a 2010 iMac quad i5 connected to the printer over my ethernet LAN. Are you using a Brother printer?
Firefox has shown this kind of nasty issue for the past six months or so. It seems to be related to the imaging algorithms in Preview when dealing with Firefox (now at v.12) and the Brother printer -- the screwy second page (and beyond) show up skewed and up-sized when doing a print preview also. No such problem seen in Safari or anything else. I am not currently using any other Mozilla apps on this Mac besides Firefox.
A few months ago I tested printing from my administrator account and  a different user account. Firefox printing was completely normal and as expected. When I went back to my main user account, back came the funky second page.I went through extensive troubleshooting to try to chase it down, systematically removing and replacing apps and preferences and many other Library files related to printing, Brother drivers, Firefox, and Preview. Nothing helped. Solution was to migrate my user files to an account where the printing problem wasn't happening. I deleted the problem user account.
Everything was fine for about three weeks, and then with no warning, printing was back to the bad second page, just as before. I am stumped, and I'll let smarter people try to figure it out. I use Firefox a lot, and it's possible that some add-on setting is interfering, or a web page I visited turned the printing funky again. I just don't know.
Also checked on a Mac G4 running Leopard (10.5.8) and Firefox 3.6.28. No printing/preview problems there.
Now, for the work-around I am currently using -- print each page separately, one at a time. Page 1, then page 2, etc. Preview and printing looks completely normal. Hope this works for you until the bug is located and squashed for good.

    Hi,
we're migrating from Forms 6i to Forms 10g. If I try to open a form in Form Builder 10g, FRM-18108 and FRM-10102 are appearing. I checked registry entries on my XP-System (FORMS90_PATH) and everything seems to be similar to the old Forms environment.

  • FRM-41085 when opening headstart form qms0006f

    Hi,
I am upgrading an 6i Forms environment to an 10g Webforms environment. Currently the application is running fine, except for all the Headstart forms (f.e. qms0006f, Preferences). If I open this form, I first get FRM-41085: Error getting Group Row count
And after that another error: QMS-00100 Unhandled exception ORA-06502: PL/SQL numeric or value error ORA-01403: no data found in PL/SQL Program Unit qms$form.init
I have deployed this application on a linux appsserver, and it creates this error. However, if I run it on my windows development environment I am able to open the form. Connected as the same user on the same database.
I compiled the Headstart forms, that are supplied by Headstart itselves, so the form is not generated from Designer.
Anyone any idea? (If there are still some Oracle consultant reading this Headstart forums?)
    Kind regards,
