From 7.7 to 7.7.1 - what happens?

Time to upgrade to 7.7.1 since it sounds like the bugs in 7.7 are fixed.
In the recent past (since I've only used iTunes recently) I've done upgrades with Software Upgrade. I have now learned it's better to do upgrades/updates through downloading from the Apple site.
If I get 7.7.1 as a download from the Apple site and then install it on my G4, what happens to my library? What happens to 7.7 (is it overwritten or do I have two iTunes)?

Found this thread by accident while cruisin' the iTunes forum (which I rarely do) to glean some experiences of others before deciding whether or not to upgrade iTunes from 7.6.1.
7.7.1 no longer how shows in Software Update, only 8, so I thought 'do I or don't I?'
So, happily ignoring the various comments about errors, bugs, gremlins, download difficulties etc, I decided to UPGRADE!
Here is what I did:
First I backed up my iTunes Library. As later comments will show, that was a waste of three DVDs, but at least I now have a backup!
Repaired permissions. Closed all applications. Removed the iTunes icon from the Dock. Downloaded iTunes 8 from the Apple Download Page. Closed Safari. Read the read-me file that came with the installer. Went and had another coffee and cigarette in the garden.
Came back, marvelling that it wasn't raining, and installed iTunes 8. Repaired permissions - and there were a few repairs this time. Slightly surprised that the installer didn't ask for a restart, so I gave my iMac one anyway. Slightly longer bootup than usual, a good sign BTW that something is being reset and/or properly installed.
Opened iTunes 8 with trembling mouse-click.
EVERYTHING WORKS AS IT SHOULD!
My Library and playlists were exactly as I had left them. The Store opened as it should first time. In fact everything was so 'normal' that I had to check if I actually was running iTunes 8! Replaced the icon in the Dock. Made sure Genius wasn't operating - that's for later!
Have Annie Lennox blaring out as I type this.
Life is good - I can recommend iTunes 8!

What happened is that version 1.0 of the security update was available for a bit of time this weekend, and that disabled Rosetta. Version 1.1 brought it back.

Repeatedly crashes. What I ended up doing was using a backup Final Cut Projects file and jettisoning this one with the glitch. Luckily, nada much lost. I've had a couple of these weird glitches happen in the Timeline, esp. when dealing with compound audio-only clips & some fx's and rather than spending mega time trying to fix the problem, I bail and start again, and try to be more methodical in my approach.

Firefox 8... Unable to create PDF files from screen using Adobe Acrobat X...what happened?

I'm no longer able to use the Adobe feature to create PDF's from the Firefox screen.
Unable to find any information on correcting this issue.
I would not have upgraded to Firefox 8 if I knew the loss of the Adobe PDF feature would be effected.
I reinstalled the standard Adobe Acrobat X with no results...

yesterday iupdated my ipod touch 4g to ios5 and i selected to backup from an itunes backup i made yesterday morning, but after doing so, my ipod went to sleep, and when i tried to unlock it, it told me ipod disabled wait 1 minute, after a minute i tried again but then it said wait 5 minutes, why isn't my passcode working?

Restore from Backup once more. Passcodes are not restored in backups, so you should be able to get on the iPod without a passcode, then go into Settings and set up a new one (or the old one if you want).

What happens to plug-ins for Premiere Pro when upgrading from CS6 Production Premium to CC?

What happens to table when file is transfering ?

There is code in Z-program which puts a 'Z' in the blocked field of ZCCOD whenever a file is transmitted.
I mean file is transfering from SAP to mainframes
Can anybody tell what happens if the table is in <b>edit mode</b> (e.g., via SM30) at the time of transmit? Do the changes get lost or do they get queued up or what?
Could you please you please explan in detail. You correct(no guessings please ) explanation is highly appreciated.

The Z-Program will update the database irrespective of the table being edited in SM30. The user wont see the updated data until he comes out of the existing transaction and goes back again.

Also if the program updates the data and if the user editing the table in SM30 saves his changes, the changes made by the Z-program will be overwritten.
The best way to avoid this problem is to add a check in your Z-program. Use the function ENQUEUE_READ to check if the table key the program is trying to update is locked and perform further processing.

TS2972 I just updated all of our computers to itunes 11 and now when we try to use our home sharing, we can't import songs. What happened to the easily located "import song" feature? I wish now that I wouldn't have updated to the new itunes 11.

solved the issue today. first sync with itunes, so all the stiff you bought on the mobile will be backuped.
1. uncheck sync music in itunes and sync. all the music will be erased from mobile device
2. check music player on the mobile device. just the unwanted songs will still be there
3. go on the iphone to settings, general, usage, music player. there is just a few mb from the remaining unwanted songs. swipeleft and erase the content. switch iphone off and on again
4. repeat step 2. there will be no data. otherwise repeat step 3
5. check sync music in itunes and sync. all the music will be back again but not the unwanted songs.

What happened to the createPDF mobile app.

I can't find it in the app store anymore and links to it on the adobe website lead nowhere. Has this been discontinued? Any alternatives available?

Never got a response so I bought Office Suite Pro 6 from the Google Play store. It goes on sale every now and then. Picked it up for 99 cents. Has in-app converion of word to pdf (ie, not cloud based). Works fine and pretty good Office app too. Hope this helps.

I have the same question. I was fixing to buy it but for some reason the App store says its not available in the US. Anyone else have a response?

Pipeline functions - what happens under the hood? (10g)

What happens when you call a pipelined function? (As opposed to a plain table-valued function.)
From what I understand, a pipelined function will return rows as they are needed. Let's say I have a really silly example of a pipelined function,
CREATE OR REPLACE PACKAGE BODY TEST_PACKAGE_1

    FUNCTION GET_DATA RETURN JUST_A_TABLE PIPELINED
    IS
    BEGIN
        PIPE ROW (JUST_A_TYPE('HELLO'));
        PIPE ROW (JUST_A_TYPE('WORLD'));
        RETURN;
    END;
END TEST_PACKAGE_1;
/Then let's say I were to SELECT * FROM TABLE(TEST_PACKAGE_1.GET_DATA) WHERE ROWNUM = 1, what happens to the second row? Does the code that returns the second row still get educated? (Obviously it's omitted from the query, but does it still get generated somewhere and just go nowhere?)
If I have a cursor on a PL/SQL block that selects from GET_DATA, will each row only be returned as the cursor references it? In that case, what happens to the rows that don't get selected? If there some resource that need to be closed out (say, just before the return statement), would it still be safe to close it out?

For the second statement I got 2 rows of data from the function and the first two dbms_output statements were processed. For the final call I again got 2 rows of data from the function and all 3 dbms_output statements were processed.

What happens after unchecking 'Keep iTunes Music folder organized'?

After unchecking the 'Keep iTunes Music folder organized' option, am I right in thinking that future additions to the library are simply linked from their default location? If so, what happens when ripping CDs, and how is it possible to rename or move files/folders without iTunes failing to find them and having to add them again?

It's more what doesn't happen rather than what does. If you like to organise your own folders in your Music folder you must leave it unchecked, as checking it gives iTunes the authority to rename and move tracks at will.
If you rip a CD with iTunes and the iTunes Music folder according the tabs recovered from Grace note. The hierarchy is Artist\album.
This is not affected by Keep iTunes Music folder organised.
If you add tracks already on your PC, depending on the setting of "Copy to iTunes Music folder when adding to library, iTunes will either store a link to the track in its current location or copy it into the iTunes Music folder according to the tags.
It is not possible to move or rename any track in your library or iTunes will lose it. There is no folder watch feature.
So you need to place and name a file BEFORE adding it to the library if you want to manage your own folders. Once added you can't change it without having to either add it again or find it manually in iTunes.
The only thing you can do is to use iTunes to move the whole iTunes Music folder to a new location.

What happened to Alloy LnF?

Hello everybody,
Does anybody know what the status is of the Alloy LnF? The [Alloy history|http://lookandfeel.incors.com/history.php] shows the last update was in August 2003.
After 6 years, it appears to be dead. I have sent several emails to Jan Bösenberg, who looks to be the owner of Incors, but that was futile... I have tracked him around a bit via Google, and I got some newgroup/mailinglist posts from him up to 2007.
So, what happened to Alloy LnF?

It's now a Widget.
After you press the Widgets button on your remote, press
< or > to rotate the Widget carousel to the Hot On TV widget.
Press OK.
The "old" What's Hot on FiOS screen (what used to displayed from Menu)
is displayed and will display what you're looking for.
