From "Almost there" when opening firefox, attempt download takes me back to "Almost there" repeatedly.
I am unsuccessful in downloading the new 5.0.1 firefox version. I can't get past the "Almost there" screen because I download and click on the Firefox symbol to move it to the Applications folder, and when I move it from there to the Dock and open it, again, it says "Almost There." It tells me I can't perform this because I already have Firefox open, even though I have tried again and again to quit it. Do I need to delete every single vestage of firefox and start over with my bookmarks, etc. to make this work?
A brief and probably non-helpful answer: I know of no way to eliminate your large amount of duplicates other than by repetitive, tedious manual effort.

BACKUP: It also appears that the only way I can back up the catalog is to shut down LR. Really?!

When opening FireFox 4.0b7 the browser hangs for about a minute and I get (Not Responding). If I use FireFox 3.6.13 I have no problems at all or if I use any of the other browsers, link IE9 Beta. What is going on?

You can turn off hardware acceleration to improve startup times. To do that in the Tools menu select Options to open the options dialog. Select the Advanced panel, and then the General tab. Uncheck the setting "Use hardware acceleration when available". -
I usually have 3-4 tabs open which I am saving to read later. But I loose them all the time when firefox crashes or when another appliaction opens firefox to download something and it will discard all my tabs. This is incredibly annoying, is there a way to save my tabs ? or get them back when there is no "restore session" button ?
In Firefox Options / Privacy be sure "Remember download history" is checked. To see all of the options on that panel, "Firefox will" must be set to "Use custom settings for history".

When opening Firefox, I also get a popup page thanking me for installing AOL Toolbar.
Frequently, when opening Firefox 7.0.1 I get a popup page over the home page. The popup page is a Thank You for installing AOL Toolbar. I do not have the toolbar, though I might have in the past. I do not like AOL and want to stop the popup page but have not been able to. I do use Winamp's Toolbar and this could be the source of the problem. If Winamp Toolbar is the problem, I will uninstall it if there is no way to turn off the popup from there. Please assist.
There is some anecdotal evidence that the scripts on the Apple site that are supposed to detect the version of Windows you are running may fail for some users - jumping straight to the "Thank you for downloading ..." page with the installer not having been downloaded. As an alternative, you can go directly to the relevant downloads:

This pop up window happens almost everytime we open firefox...Once we click ok the current page will load.

Hello. I have a new Computer and import my mediathek with an externe storage. When opened the new Mediethek in front of every song there is a explanation mark: original song could not been found. I try everything. Whats the Problem??
But it seems the OP has a setup where the media is on the external drive, and the library files are on the internal. This is what I refer to as a split library, Migrating such from one computer to another is not straightforward. Often iTunes will have some definite idea about where the files should live, and updating the setting of the media folder won't change that. If it requires a drive letter change that is usually not too hard, but sometimes there is another preference file that needs tweaking to indicate which of the old & new layouts for the library is being used. In more extreme cases I have a script for automatically making track by track repairs.

Initially after some troubleshooting I noticed that I could make infection pop up disappear:
From Configure how firefox connects to the internet -> changed from "use system proxy settings" to "auto-detect proxy settings" or "no proxy"
With this option modified, the pop up from avast didn't appear any longer when opening Firefox.
However I noticed that both Chrome and IE were set to work on the same "use system proxy settings" and they weren't causing problems...so I assumed the problem still has to be with firefox.
After changing back the option in firefox to "use system proxy" I got again the notice, but saw that when opening firefox in safe mode the issue was gone again.
I tracked it to the no script addon, after removing it, the issue disappear regardless of proxy config settings...when I reinstall it, it appears again.
I am now running in depth virus scans to see were the actual infection is.
It seems to me it is expoiting a vulnerability in this addon, I will try the reset also. -

I updated to imovie 11 on my iPhone 4 and my old videos were the only ones there. Everybody else that had this problem went to settings > privacy > photos then turned on access to photos from imovie. When I went to the settings and went to photos there was no imovie option.
Please help ASAP

ikeep getting a message that my start up disc is full and i don't know how to free up space.. also when i o to download some files i am told there is no space left to download i bought this macbook pro used an receiver no discs.. what can i do??
You need to purchase an external drive and start moving some files to it or you can try trashing some files that you no longer need.
Download OmniDiskSweeper and see where your larger files are... you can move them to an external drive or trash them: it's up to you.
I would also begin, since it's obviously don't have backups, a backup scheme or two. See Most commonly used backup methods.
