From CS4 to Photoshop CS6 by upgrading ???

Is it possible to pass from Photoshop CS4 to Photoshop CS6 by upgrading ???

CS5 and CS5.5 are the only qualifying versions for upgrading to CS6.

  • How can I upgrade from CS4 to CS5/CS6?

Hi, I really need to upgrade my Adobe suite from CS4 to CS5 or higher. From reading in this forum you are unable to do it, but those posts were from 2012. Wondering if this is still current and if anyone can help me? Do I need to buy the entire suite again from scratch? Surely not?
I have a student version by the way.
    Thanks!

You cannot upgrade from Photoshop CS4.  Those days are long past.
While you can buy a full license for (the now outdated) Photoshop CS6, your most cost effective alternative may be to consider the Creative Cloud "Photographer's Bundle" subscription...

  • Photoshop CS6 Extended upgrade from Photoshop CS5 Extended

I am running the Teacher/Student edition of Photoshop CS5 and plan to up grade to Photoshop CS6 Extended non- eacher/Student edition.  Will the be any complications with this upgrad.

    Hi Jerry,
While upgrading you should maintain the same form of licenses, which is if you haveretail CS5 then do get the retail upgrade of CS6,
If the cs5 version is volume then do get the volume upgrade. Please refer to this link for the upgrade path,

  • Problem with scanning in Photoshop CS6 after upgrading to Mountain Lion

After upgrading to latest version of Mountain Lion i've got a problem with scanning directly into Photoshop CS6.
on the previous Lion version when I wanted to scan something, i just opened Photoshop -> File -> Import -> images from device
then a new window opened up the ImageCapture app where I could choose the device I wanted to use, and then I selected the scanner (Canon CanoScan 8400F) and I could scan directly into photoshop.
Now with Mountain Lion when I do the exact same thing, it opens a window, but it's impossible to select any device, as the new window is just a plain white window, with 2 buttons on top to rotate something that isn't there. (text is in dutch, cause I'm from the Netherlands)
hope someone can help me out.
I can scan with the use of the ImageCapture app without problems and then save that picture and open it in Photoshop, but it has worked before, so am I doing something wrong? or is this just a little bug
thnx in advance for the help

I’m having the same problem with my Epson Perfection 3200 Photo scanner and Adobe Photoshop CS6. It does the initial overview scan then I get the same blank window as BigNoud shows above. I've done a Software Update and have also updated OSX to 10.8.1.
I know for the Epson you can get a Mountain Lion compatible scan software from SilverFast for about $35.00 as an upgrade here.
I haven't gone that route yet as I don't want to give up any more money for my Apple/Adobe experience.
    Any help would be appreciated.

  • Photoshop CC not allowing JPEG import from Nikon D800 - Photoshop CS6 worked fine.

When inporting JPEG from Nikon D800 nothing happens - screen remains blank.
Went back to my provious version (Photoshop CS6) and it worked fine.

Curt Y gave you some good advice.
Remove your memory card from the camera and plug it into a card reader.
Drag/copy the files from the memory card to your hard drive.
Eject your card from the card reader and reinsert into camera.
Then open the files from the hard drive.
It is not a good idea to open/work on files on the memory card, while either in the camera or the card reader.
Yes, you may have done this differently in the past, but it is much SAFER to work on the files after they have been moved to your hard drive.
Please try the above proceduce and report back if you are still having issues.

  • Trouble moving from lightroom to Photoshop CS6 raw editor

I am having trouble moving from my lightroom 4 to Photoshop camera raw. I can move directly to Photoshop but would like to use the raw editor in photoshop CS6 and not the lightroom editor

    Hi,
You could use Photo>Edit In>Open as Smart Object in Photoshop
(or right click on the photo and Edit In>Open as Smart Object in Photoshop)
Then double click on the smart object thumbnail in the layers panel to open camera raw.

  • Separating sound from visuals in Photoshop Cs6

How does one seperate the sound from the visuals of a shot video clip so the audio can be treated as a separate entity to the visuals in Photoshop cs6?

Well, the video-editing capabilities in PS CS 6 are limited, and rather limited.
Adobe offers a wonderful, full-featured video-editing program, Premiere Pro, that will allow much, much more control over Video and Audio.
For pure Audio-editing, there is also Adobe Audition, which will easily rip the Audio from an AV file, for extensive editing of just that Audio.
PS CS 6, related to Video, is like an adjustable spanner - works for many applications, but is not the same as having a full roll-away chest of Snap-On tools (Premiere Pro).
    Good luck,

  • Photoshop CS6 - no upgrade options???

I have purchased Photoshop CS6 in December last year. I live in Israel. I have tried to do single app membership but this option is not available to me. Only CC Teams in available. This has an annual subscription of around the same price of purchasing photoshop in the first place. Was I stupid to buy Photoshop in the first place? It looks like I have no upgrade option at all. Can anyone help me ?

You can check what offers are available to you. Visit https://creative.adobe.com/join/offer and see what offers you're eligible for. I hope this helps.
Periodically, Adobe may run special offers and provide promotional pricing for certain products and services. You can read about the current offers at the following page: http://www.adobe.com/products/discount-software-coupons.html

  • No Way to disable audio from Video in Photoshop CS6

I have a video clip that has an audio track that I want to remove, however it seems that the track specific "mute or unmute audio track" and "Disable Audio Playback" buttons only affect playback inside of Photoshop and do not affect the exported output. Am I missing something or is this the designed effect of these buttons? Is there a way to remove the audio track in the current build of Photoshop CS6 without going to something like Premiere Pro?
    Thank you,

  • Can I upgrade to CS6 web Premium from CS4 Web Premium at the upgrade price?

I purchased CS4 Web Premium and it was sold as an upgrade. At the time I hade CS2 and Photoshop CS3/Deamweaver CS3/ and Fireworks CS3. I did have to contact Adobe support to activate my upgrade as the product mix was incompatable with the CS4 upgrade serial number. It was no problem and Adobe activated the entire suite. I have been purchasing Adobe products since 2006 and did not think I needed to upgrade every cycle to be ellagible for the upgrade pricing. As well, purchasing every upgrade would be nearly as expenxsive as full price anyway. More important, the upgrades (CS5) are not always substantial and give marginal benefit for the money.

Obviously Adobe is moving away from the amateur and hobby market.
You have it all wrong. CS products never were aimed at hobbyists in the first place. Any such use was accidental. Everything beyond that is irrelevant - many people spend much more money on other "hobbies" be it their car, sports, travel or whatever. anmd you'lll even find many people who buy much more expensiove software than Adobe tools just for their sparetime pleasure...

  • Cheapest upgrade from CS4 Mac to CS6 Windows?

I purchased an education version of CS4 Web Premium for Mac back in 2008 for $600. I am now switching to PC, but do not want to lose out on using my software. I tried to open an Adobe case for switching licenses over to Windows, but was told it was no longer allowed for CS4. I thought about transferring the license over to a friend, but apparently that is not possible for an education version.
What are my options? I need the software, but will be useless once I switch over to PC.

There are no options. You simply need to buy a new license or sign up for CC. CS4 is no longer eligible for any upgrades.

  • Photoshop CS6 Extended Upgrade will not install

I have Adobe Photoshop CS5.1 Extended installed and activated on my system. The installation for the upgrade from disk for CS6 extended doesn't recognize that the CS5 Extended installation exists or accepts its serial number and I can't proceed. It also doesn't give me CS5 Extended as an option in the drop down menu for previous installations. CS5 shows as being activated on my computer. I did have to do a full system restore to a new hard disk some six weeks ago when my C drive crashed.

As Baljeet said, please clarify. Could be thast you simply have the wrong installer. if so, you may wish to get in touch with support. they can eitehr help you generate an install code or advise about exhanging the wrong media.

  • Can I still purchase Photoshop CS6 and upgrade later?

I have a brand new iMac and need to acquire Photoshop for a class I am taking. The teaching establishment uses CS6 and if I get on CC now, perhaps I will be incompatible to use the facilities Photoshop. I want to start off on the "right foot" so I can succeed in this class. Thank you for your help.

I'd get CC now and be done with it. There are a few features that have been removed, notably Flash panels (Mini Bridge, Kuler, Configurator), but it will be removed for them too if they wish to stay reasonably current.
You can still buy CS6, but it's a dead end. There will never be a CS7. As such you can't "upgrade" from it, but you'll get a price cut for a period if you later jump on the cloud.
Personally I love the CC model for a whole bunch of reasons - yes, even budget reasons. I see people put up elaborate calculations to "prove" that CC is ultimately more expensive, but that's not how it works in reality. Budgets are all about thresholds, and the CC threshold is really low. I pay more for my cell phone subscription each month.

  • Problem with Photoshop CS6 Extended upgrade

I have been using CS6 on both my desktop MacPro and my laptop Macbbok Pro.
In the last few days, whenever I open photoshop on my desktop, it is the EXTENDED version and indicates that I am in a trial period for the next 30 days.
I never purchased or requested this extended version.  I don't know where it came from.
I want to get rid of it and go back to using my standard version of CS6.
    How do I do that?

Install the latest 13.0.4 update or run the Creative Suite Cleaner Tool and reinstall from scratch. Look up the relevant detailed explanations in the various threads on the topic in the PS forum.
