From Keynote to YouTube 1280 x 720 HD

Hello,
I'm struggling to directly export from Keynote to YouTube on HD definition, namely 1280 x 720 my presentation...
The Keynote menu seems to only offer 640 x 360 or 480 x 272
Any method, is it possible or just blocked by Apple ?
Thank you in advance, Albert

I've tried this before but it does not work unfortunately.
What I mean here, for some reason Keynote will create some time sync anomaly between audio and video, then when uploading to YouTube, it will reject the file or make awful result.
So far, the only working method I've foudn to export from Keynote to YouTube is to use SEND sub-menu in Keynote. It works fine except I can NOT send 1280x720, it just restricts to 640 x 360 or 480 x 272

  • Editing 2 file types in 1 Sequence (1080i60 & 1280 x 720 Flip)

I began a Sequence that is 1440 x 1080, Upper Field, 29.97, Compressor HDV 1080i60, Audio 48 KHz, 16-bit and that is working fine. But, I then added new footage from a Flip camera (1280 x 720, Square Pixel Aspect Ratio, No field dominance, Editing Timebase 30, Compressor: H.264, and same audio settings as original sequence.) This footage plays fine in the viewer but as soon as I place it into the Timeline the audio and video are wildly out of synch. I did set my Prefs to ask when conforming, but it does not ask. I try to manually do so, and it renders, but does not seem to actually change the file format. I adjust the percentage in the Canvas (because sometimes this causes funky playback), and that seems to work once or twice, but not consistently. I tried exporting the Flip Footage with the same exact settings as the Sequence and then re-importing and it's the same problem. I tried a new sequence with the new Flip Footage and that too is inconsistent. I feel as though I have tried everything I know to do-- but can't get a handle on what exactly is wrong, nor how to fix it. Thanks in advance for any sage advice!

I got the camera and used in my trip to London last month. Very unlucky that there is no Apple Store where I live in HK, there is only reseller. I will try to test it with my friend new Macbook Pro 13".
If iMovie only import the video at 30 frames, it would not be a solution for GH1 users as the camera shoot at 60 frames which produce very smooth video which I watch the un-edited video on a PS3.
I was quite frustrated with the proper software for editing the AVCHD video. I thought many camera/video camera users shooting so-called hd video would face the same problem.

  • Sending to YouTube from Keynote

Anyone else having issues logging into YouTube from Keynote? Everything I go to Share > Send To > YouTube, it asks for my credentials (which I am entering in correctly), but it rejects it. Obviously, I am connected to the Internet.
If this has happened to you and how to fix it, can you tell me how to correct it?
    Thanks.

The size limitation is determined by YouTube, and there is not a way to captured video without it being in HD.

  • HD 1280 x 720 , Skips Frames with Quicktime 7.*

Quicktime skips frames when I'm trying to play a video I created with my Digital camera.(Kodak Z1275) Its not the camera because it plays flawlessly on screen. I upload the file to the computer and Quicktime skips a few seconds throughout the entire file. When I uploaded the HD 1280 x 720 file to Youtube it plays flawlessly.
So the conclusion is its not my computer since the file plays perfect with Youtubes encoder.(I even brought the file to the store I purchased the camera from, the same problem) The Problem is with Quick time player!
Also when I select 1/2 speed playback speed in the Quick time player it is very smooth! Conclusion Player encoder does not like 1280 mode?
I have the latest version and even went to the trouble of purchasing Quick time Pro 7 (that I regret)
Any help from the apple gang?

The only conclusion is Quicktime is not able to process the larger 1280 x 720 format. Only the MAC boys can help! You have to get enough people complaining or find another player encoder that will work with the .mov file.
Kodak, the makers of the camera blame it on Quicktime's obsolete program. Not enough users to make it worth changing or maybe its in the works now.
Seems like Kodak got ahead of Quicktime's ****** player

  • Can I paste a 1280 x 720 slide into a 1680 x 1050 presentation?

I'd like to be able to paste samples of various shows in various resolutions into a single presentation without hyperlinks. I'm presenting on my 17", so I'd like to use the full-screen resolution, 1680 x 1050. I'd like to paste a 1280 x 720 show into it, but Keynote automatically resizes every frame, and everything scales inaccurately do to the difference in aspect ratios. I don't want to have to rebuild every slide. I know I can copy the contents of each slide and paste it onto a blank slide in the final presentation, and the animations copy over, but the transitions get lost. Is there a way to either import the file or copy the complete slide show from the navigator and maintain the integrity of the original?

    Thanks -
    I hadn't thought of 1680 x 945, I'll try that next go-round.
In the meantime, I created a special frame inside my target presentation, and just copied and pasted the elements I wanted from the smaller slides into the frame in a slide-by-slide process. It actually worked perfectly, and allowed me to highlight the samples in a worthwhile way.
But thanks for the hint! It'll come in handy soon.

  • 1280 X 720 29.97 FPS Setup

    Greeting,
I'm starting up Premier Pro CS6 and I get this huge selection of formats I could setup for everything but what I "think" I need.
    What I Need
Final output will be to YouTube but I want to set the file up for full res and then render from that. I've been told to set up a file at 1280 X 720 @ 29.97fps and I should be able to get what ever I need from that but I don't see it as a preset in the first window that opens in Premier. I see things that are close but there doesn't appear to be a way to edit them and save.

Hey thanks for the quick reply.
Actually, I don't have any source footage yet. Most of it will be still photos with some video from a stock house of which I will look for something that is at the size I'm after. So I guess that means my editing sequence will need to be 1280 X 720 @ 29.97fps. I suppose if the stock footage is only available at 30fps when I import it my project will ask if I want to adjust to the import settings. Do I just ignore the New Seqence preset window. Sorry I'm a neophyte at PR.
    Saving Preset
You mention I can export this setup. I'm assuming there is an export preset dialog somewhere that will ask me what to call it? yes? Or will it give me options like "YT .264"?
Also, what does the YT stand for? I've seen the .264.

  • Editing Panasonic GH1 1280 x 720 60 frame video

I got an old Macbook with previous ver of iMovie which does not support editing AVCHD. I know that iMovie 09 is able to handle AVCHD and support video from Panasonic GH1, so I am planning to a get a new mac with new OS and iMovie 09. Would anyone please share your experience in using iMovie 09 with GH1? I shot the footage in 1280 x 720 60 frames per second in AVCHD format. I understand that iMovie will convert it to Apple properitary video format for editing, my questions are:
    1. is the response time acceptable? I believe it is quite hardware demanding for 720p video editing. What is the time rquired for say, a C2D iMac 2.xxGHz 4GB Ram for cutting or addition of transition effect? Do you have to wait for say 30 sec to add a 4 sec transition effect between two footages?
    2. what is the output format of the edited video, can it be re-coded to AVCHD so that I may burn it on a DL DVD for paying on a PS3 or blu-ray player?

I got the camera and used in my trip to London last month. Very unlucky that there is no Apple Store where I live in HK, there is only reseller. I will try to test it with my friend new Macbook Pro 13".

  • Exporting movie from keynote 6.2 - soundtrack and frames not per original presentation

    Aloha!
I just created a Keynote 6.2 presentation (on a MBP with OS 10.9.4), with recorded soundtrack, with the frames timed per that soundtrack.  When I export it as a QT movie, there are few options to select (Format and timings for next slide/next build - which latter two shouldn't apply, since the timings are built into the presentation - right?)  File comes out as an ~.m4v file type and the frame timings and the soundtrack are all way off from the original.
My questions are: i) what am I doing wrong in exporting this as a movie (I want to upload it to YouTube eventually), and ii) is this a common issue transferring from Keynote 6.2 to QT?  How to bring the text/images, frame and sound timings back into sync per the original??
I appreciate any and all help with this.  The frustration level is starting to build!!
    George in TN

Slideshow recording option in QT export will not be available until you create a slideshow recording.
To create a Slide Show recording:
Select the first slide in the Navigator pane.
From the menu:   Play > Record Slideshow The recording mode shows you the current time, current slide, and next slide. To change the layout and see your presenter notes, a timer, and more, click the options button:     top right of screen  then select options you want.
To start recording your presentation, click at the bottom of the window. The timer counts down from 3 before recording begins.
To advance to the next slide, press the Right Arrow key. You can pause the recording at any time by clicking the Pause button.
    Click to resume recording.
    Click to stop the recording.
Press the Escape (Esc) key to save the recording and exit the presentation.

  • Combine 720 x 480 & 1280 x 720 on Blu Ray - best settings?

What is the best way to combine mutliple formats on a Blu Ray disk. I need to dsplay SD & HD video (720 x 480 & 1280 x 720) clips on the same disk. I have both formats on separate sequences in Premiere Pro and Encore. The sequences are set up corresponding to there respective specs. When I burn a disk evrything goes fine but the playback of the SD is inferior to a standard DVD. If I just burn the SD sequence to a Blu Ray disk, without the HD sequence then the playback quality is better.
I realize that displaying SD in HD shows all the flaws but this is definitly not good quality, lots of artifacts in flat tonal areas with motion.
Anyone have any good ideas for tweaking the transcode settings for the SD sequence , etc?

One way you can be certain that encodings of the SD material are up to snuff

Why don't you scale down the 1280x720 to SD.  Hopefully, your SD footage is widescreen and you could make the 1280 widescreen as well (exporting from Ame) and burn a widescreen DVD in ENcore.
Then play the disc in an up converting DVD player.

Sorry John, but downscaling HD to SD to play in an upscaled SD player makes little if any sense to me.
@the OP - are your problems from a burned disc, and if so what is your player and firmware revision?
BD should be able to handle mixed resolutions with no trouble at all, but you need to be careful.
Not all players can handle the switch between HD & Sd very well - we had this issue on a commercial title recently where the extras were all 720 x 480 SD against the main title of 1920 x 1080/24 - certain players connected via HDMI had definite issues switching between resolutions.
One way you can be sure your SD footage is up to par would be to encode all these assets to MPEG-2 before importing them into Encore project.
This way you can proof them all before importing - set the files to "Do not transcode" in Encore, and from then on all issues with quality are down to the player.

  • Mac mini Core Duo in 1280 x 720 @ 60 Hz on Mitsubishi WD-52525

So I picked up a Mac mini Core Duo last night (my first Mac by the way, and so far I'm very excited about it) with the intention of using it as a home theater computer (HTPC). I intend to use my Mitsubishi WD-52525 DLP as the display device, and, for now, using RCA inputs on my Pioneer VSX-07TX for sound.
This thread is for the video problem. I cannot seem to get the Mac mini to display a proper 1280 x 720 @ 60 Hz signal on my display. I'm using the included DVI-VGA adapter and the WD-52525's VGA input (named "PC") which is supposed to be capable of receving a 1280 x 720 @ 60 Hz signal.
When I did this through DisplayConfigX I got a beautiful picture that was horribly overscanned. Trying to tinker with the DisplayConfigX settings yeilded less than stellar results, and it seems as if some of the options to fix back porch (bottom overscan) are "buggy" according to the software developer.
So, my question is, how can I get the Mac mini to output a 1280 x 720 @ 60 Hz signal that will fill the available screen on the WD-52525?
    Guidance appreciated.

I too took the plunge and recently purchased a Mac Mini Core Duo. I have it hooked up to my Mitsuhishi WD-52825 (the one with the built-in DVR). The mini is hooked up through the HDMI connection on the 825 using a HDMI/DVI converter. Thus far, I have had success at least viewing the desktop on the TV, but I either have overscan or less than a full screen picture when "overscan" is unchecked in the options tab of the display panel.
I have also tried Displayconfigx, which terrible results. Everytime I change the resolution, and then reboot, my screen is filled with skewed images, which I have to change from my iMac using a VNC client/server setup.
Hopefully I'll eventually find the correct setting for the Mac Mini because there doesn't seem to be much I can do on the Mitsubishi end using a DVI-HDMI connection. Any suggestions?

  • AIC 1280 X 720 to MPEG-2 Looks like crud using imovie | buy compressor?

    Repost from "compressor" group.
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2075563&tstart=0
I am a complete newbie to the video editing and compression world. Please forgive me and thank you in advance for your advice.
Here is the low down. I am using Final Cut express. I edited a 4 hours training video with screenshots and some screen capture. This is training video on how to use some technical database software so the screen captures are movies of my computer screen captured with iShowU. My FCE sequence and screen capture video was recorded using Apple Intermediate Codec 1280 x 720. When I try to use imovie to burn the footage to a DVD everything looks very grainy. It looks like crud. When I export to Quicktime in the AIC format looks great.
Since I am a newbie, I know I probably should have recorded my screen captures in another codec and not 1280 x 720. Hindsight is 20/20.
I have noticed when I export from Final Cut Express to H.264 it even starts too look grainy. I really need to actually get in on several DVDs in the MPEG-2 format.
So my questions for you is:
Do you think this is something that Compressor will handle? Can I take 1280X720 AIC and use compressor to encode to MPEG-2 and not get grainy resolution? I think compressor can crop instead of scale which I think is what iMovie is doing when it encodes from AIC to MPEG-2. I was using the iMove professional encoding and even tested it with a 30 second clip and it looks like crud. I know compressor offers more fined grained control. I think the grainy MPEG-2 results are from iMovie trying to scale from 1280x720 to 720x480. (I think)
Or should I go back and create a new sequence and re-record all my screen captures in a better resolution that is DVD/MPEG-2 compatible.
I am not sure if this is a screw up in my choice of capture resolution or if it is a limitation of imovie. I am just hesitant to drop the coin on FCP if this is not going to work. Thanks again

No, I don't think Compressor can handle it. MPEG-2 is too heavily compressed to handle compressing screen captures. It's always going to look awful. The limitation is in the DVD format and MPEG-2. Most training DVDs for software are not made using MPEG-2, but using computer formats with a runtime player for playback on a computer monitor not a TV set.

  • IPad keynote to YouTube???

Is there away to export a keynote presentation to YouTube or iMovie from and iPad?

    Cheers Rudegar,
I think the issue is you can export it directly to YouTube from keynote on a mac, I'm using an ipad2. I've had a search on good old google, but found nothing so far....it's so frustrating!
    Thanks again!

  • Animated GIFs don't loop in exported movies from Keynote 3

I am just getting started with Keynote 3.0 and really like what I have seen. I created a series of slides and pasted animated GIFs in various places. They are set to loop on each slide as Keynote presents the slides. The slide show has preset transition and build timings and there is music playing continuously, throughout the show. It works quite well. (However, there is very intermittent choppy audio and video playback when there are builds or transitions occurring. Any thoughts on optimizing this?)
The problems begin when I ask Keynote to export the slideshow to a movie. The main problem that I am struggling with is that the animated GIFs don't loop in the rendered movie, regardless of which compressor I choose. I don't see anything in the documentation. I have also searched several of the discussions on making movies from Keynote 3 but have not specifically seen animated GIFs discussed. What am I missing here?
Also, I want to be able to play this movie on a DVD player at an upcoming function. Any recommendations for an approach that will be best? I have QT 7 Pro and the iLife '06 suite.
Thanks, in advance, for any forthcoming suggestions.
    eMac G4   Mac OS X (10.4.6)   1.25 GHz, 1 GB RAM

My guess is, it's too much of a pain to have to calculate how many times it will actually loop and create the loops and then composite everything. Running it in Keynote just tells the thing to keep playing over and over till you do something that stops it. There's a BIG difference there as one is just being told to play, the other is having to be placed in a movie with an exact number of frames, so there are a bunch of calculations involved.

  • How can I remove some themes from Keynote??

How can I remove some themes from Keynote??

What a co-incidence... I just deleted those same goodies. They were in /Library/Application Support/Keynote-folder on my machine. I just deleted the whole folder, cause there seemed to be nothing more but those downloaded files. And Keynote worked great afterwards. There seemed to be another folder for iWork09, which is not to be removed.
