From my library, how do I upload previous purchased songs into the cloud?

I have a slew of songs in my library, but I can't figure out how to upload those songs into the iCloud, and yes, they were purchased from the iTunes store. Help!

Check the ID you are signed in with in Settings>iTunes & App Store.  Any music you purchased with that ID should be available to download from iCloud by opening the iTunes Store app, then tap More>Purchased>Music>Not on This iPhone (iPod, iPad), then tap the iCloud download symbols to download them.  You can also go to Settings>Music, turn on Show All Music, then open the Music app, go to your song list and tap the iCloud download symbols next to purchased songs that are not already on your device.
You can only do this with a single ID.  If you have music purchased with a different ID, they will not appear in your purchased list.  Also, after download previous purchases for one ID you cannot download previous purchases from a different ID for 90 days (see http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4627).

I assume you have iTunes Match turned on in iTunes?
You can create a smart playlist in iTunes that has "iCloud Status" is "Matched" or "Upload" - that will tell you what's in the cloud.

How do I turn a purchased song into a ringtone without repurchasing the song?

    This isn't possible.
The song's copyright holder would charge more for it if it was being played on multiple devices at once but overlooks the remote possibility that any given person would be playing the full song on two or more devices at the same time; there's much more chance of that happening if the song is converted into a ringtone, so they charge more.

  • Uploading Previously purchased songs to new computer

I'm having trouble tranferring previously purchased songs from my IPOD nano to my new lap top. When I attempt to transfer, about 25 of my 100 previously purchased songs transfer and the remainder do not. Something about not being authorized to transfer to this computer. All 100 songs were purchased off I-Tunes.

I am having similar problems. I have my library (and playlists) on my new computer, the new compte has been authorised and the previously purchased songs play on the computer. However, since then I have connected my ipod for a update and all my previously purchased songs were removed from my ipod. Why has it done this? The songs are still in my new computer and are playable. Can they be put back on my ipod?

  • HT1766 What if an ipad is the only device you have from Apple? How could you back your things up with the cloud ?

Hi my issue is that I dropped my ipad, and the screen is now blue. I have tried pressing the power button and the center button (I even pit it on the charger), but the screen is still blue. My questions are am i covered to get a replacement, and how do I back-up my stuff with the cloud if the ipad is my only apple device?

If you didn't have iCloud backup turned on before you broke it, you are out of luck.
Accidental damage is not covered by warranty.
You can get an out of warranty replacement from Apple for around $250.

  • New Hard Drive - How to re-download previously purchased songs?

I have an iTunes account. My son and I have purchased songs thru the same account. I have my songs in iTunes in my mac desktop. He has his songs in his iPod.
My desktop's hard drive recently died and had to be replaced. I had all my songs backed up so no problem there.
But my son did not have all his songs in his iPod.
When I go to the iTunes store I see all the songs we have purchased but I can't figure out how to download them again to the new hard drive.
    Any help is appreciated.
      Mac OS X (10.3.9)

See this -> iTunes Store: Purchased content can be downloaded only once
    Go here -> http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/store/lostmusic/
and send an email to Apple.
They have been known to allow users, on a case by case basis, to re-download songs ONE TIME.
If they do allow this, make sure to back up any purchases immediately.
Also, if the songs are on an iPod, they can be taken off the iPod back onto the computer.

  • How do I prevent prompt to log into the cloud?

Everytime I start iTunes (and my iPOD) I get prompted to enter my password to log into the cloud. I don't want to be asked. I don't use the cloud and don't intend to. How do I stop this prompt from showing up? It is a big annoyance.

This can happen when the original question is obscured by others before someone who thinks they have an answer notices it. At a guess a year ago the forums were quite busy with a different topic.

    iPod touch (5th generation)
Use Ctrl+B if needed to enable the menu bar.
Under Edit > Preferences > Store uncheck any entries in the Automatic Downloads section and also untick Show iTunes in the Cloud purchases.

  • HT204406 How do I upload recently purchased songs from iTunes store to iCloud (iTunes Match)

I purchased an entire album and is in my music library but I can't uderstand why the step to upload the songs into iCloud is not available to me. When I "Get Info" on the songs, it shows that they are on my HD, whereas the rest of the library is in iCloud.

    It does now.
    From your OLD computer...
Copy your ENTIRE iTunes FOLDER to an External Drive... and then from the External Drive to your New Computer..

Restore them from a backup, or use these instructions to redownload them through the iCloud.

  • Can someone tell me how to put some tunes and videos into the cloud to free up download space?

Can someone help me figure out how to store songs and videos temporarily in the cloud so I can free up more download space? Thanks.

You don't actually store anything in iCloud with regard to media files. iCloud backs up your purchases. You can delete the songs and videos from your iPad and then download them again via the purchased tab in iTunes.
This only applies if you purchased the content from iTunes and if you use the same Apple ID to download them again that you used to buy them with originally. Not all movies are available for free downloads either. Not all iTunes purchase are available for downloading again in all countries.

  • When you download previously purchased music to the cloud does it cost anything??, When you download previously purchased music to the cloud does it cost anything??

My computer just crashed tonight and I am trying to get my previously purchased music onto my new laptop but it keeps asking for my payment info like I am trying to make another purchase... Shouldn't I get it for free since I already paid for it?? I dont know if they are asking just because or if they are gonna charge me. I dont wanna go further until I know because that would be a large purchase and I am already out quite a bit of money today.
    Thanks,
    Mandy

Currently music purchases can only be re-downloaded for free if you are in the US (re-downloading). If you are not in the US then you will need to buy them again if you want to re-download them - in which case have you not got a backup of your purchases on, for example, external drives or CDs/DVDs ?

  • How can I get previously purchased songs to play once again on I Phone?

I have a good number of songs that show has having been purchased, but will no longer play in I Tunes on I Phone

    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Unsync all music and resync
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:
